Hi guys,
I got a Nexus 6P, with cyanogen rom on it. The developer options are locked,
The bootloader is locked and the recovery img gives only the option Reboot.
the best case scenario is to root the phone..
what is the option here , what should I do ?
Thanks.

Hello guys, sorry because may be this is the 50th time someone ask this question but the situation change every day. Yesterday I won from lottery and decide to go from G3 to G4. My model is European H815, I want to ask you can I root G4, change the recovery and e.t.c. without unlocking the bootloader? And also if I unlocked it is their any way to locked it again or to use my warranty? Thank you!!
well you can only root using low effort root(google it or find it here ) But to change recovery you have to unlock bootloader
No there is no way confirmed to relock your bootloader
GOOD LUCK
Thank you! If I root by this way and download Flashify and try to change recover what will happen ? Thank you!
without bootloader unlocked nothing will chnage ( recovery wont be installed ) and when you reboot your phone it will get u error (authentication error #9) as i remember and you will have to flash new firmware using lg flash tool 2014 so i dont recommend you do so
if u wanna change recovery unlock ur bootloader
you are welcome anytime
I did not get it, I hope you can light me up:
1. Doing root using low effort root means rooting without unlocking bootloader? (because I flew over the thread and did not read anything about it)
2. If I do unlock Marshmallow's bootloader, what happens when I downgrade to Lollipop via flashing proper KDZ? (I would guess that the unlocked bootlader will be overwritten!? So flashing Marshmallow again would end up in a locked bootloader, doesn't it?)
thanks
You can root lollipop without unlocking bootloader but with marshmalow you can't, you have to unlock the bootloader.
You need an unlocked bootloader for custom recovery.
Bootloader unlocking is a one way operation , you can't go back.

Boot prompt:your device software can't be checked for corruption, please lock the bootloader....
How delete or modify boot Unlock the tips ?
who knows tell me ,thanks .
I think this isn't possible. Had the same on my Nexus 6P. It it due to the bootloader not being able to verify the signature of your kernel, ROM and recovery as well as the bootloader being unlocked. Unless you go full stock with a locked bootloader, you will have to live with that message that unfortunately makes the device boot 5 seconds slower. That I tested myself
Hi, phone from my friend is in a bootloop, stuck on google logo. Phone is in the service now but I have a question, I was searching different guides for a fix and they all require unlocked bootloader but phone is locked and you need to Enable OEM Unlock in developer settings which is not possible atm.
But my question is this, why does nexus 5x requires unlocked bootloader if I want to reflash factory image ? Isn't locked bootloader only if you want to flash custom software, did I miss something with nexus 5x ? I am using Oneplus One so i am not sure what's the thing with nexus. I found basic guide to reflash factory image and in one of the steps it says bootloader needs to be unlocked.
Because the factory image cannot fix the problem. You will need a custom kernel which disable the big cores.
In order to unlock bootloader, you can heat up your phone (using a hairdrier) to boot temporarily. Google with "nexus 5x bootloop hair dryer".
Hello everyone. I'm new on the forum and I want your help please. I have one HTC 10 and I want to upgrade it with a custom Rom; the status of my bootloader is «s-off/locked». I want to know if it is possible to install custom rom. If so, how can I do? Thanks and have a nice day everyone.
Installing a custom ROM requires a custom Recovery got installed what requires device's bootloader got unlocked what requires in Android Settings -> Developer options "OEM unlock" got enabled & phone got rebooted.
