We’re really excited to announce that we are releasing our Nougat flavour of Paranoid Android. We have a lot in store - with a mix of both features & improvements.
First & foremost, we have moved our code base to be fully CAF based. This brings many improvements to your device. The key improvement here is that Qualcomm hardware is better tuned on the CAF base and with our additional optimizations we can provide a smooth and fluid user experience that will let you enjoy using your device without any lags.
On first launch you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson who’s teamed up with us again and created several beautiful pieces of artwork. For those of you who don’t know, Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work stands itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We have also added several new features and made improvements to the UI of the system that we believe would enhance the overall experience.
Pie
We’ve been working hard on redesigning this key feature of our portfolio and we’re really happy with how it has turned out. The whole design has been reworked and it fits in well with the overall feel of Google’s Material Design. This gives you the opportunity to use more gesture based control for navigating, rather than using the standard Navigation Bar at the bottom of your screen. Expect improvements and additions in the future.
Color Engine
We’re proud to announce our newest feature - Color Engine. Color Engine allows you to seamlessly change the colors of your device to be in Light, Dark (Pixel) and Black modes with a variety of accent colors to choose from. This makes changing the theme of your device really quick without having to install any extra packages on your device.
Pocket Lock
This feature prevents any form of accidental input when your device is in your pocket by disabling input sources. You can simply release Pocket Lock by long pressing the power button as highlighted by the minimal UI incase of any sort of obstruction or dust on the sensors.
Accidental Touch
Accidental Touch is a feature useful for many, especially the gamers out there. It prevents any sort of accidental touch on hardware buttons while the touchscreen is in use. This means you won’t experience any unexpected behaviour while playing games, web browsing or even when attempting to reach your finger out to the edge of that humongous display.
Major features:
- Reworked Pie
- Color engine
- Pocket lock
- Immersive mode
- Buttons customization (including navigation bar)
- On the spot controls (OTS)
Minor features:
- SafetyNet Compatibility
- Battery/Notification LED control
- Recent tasks locking
- Battery icon customization
- Google now page in default launcher
- Accidental touch
- Three finger swipe Screenshot
- Substratum (OMS) support (Color engine will be deactivated if you use Substratum)
- Quick pulldown
- Various performance and battery improvements
- Display Burn-in protection (for OLED screens)
- More to explore
Device specific features for Mi5 (List is being updated):
- Fingerprint Options
- aptX and aptXHD support
Specific device performance and battery optimizations
- Two-Step input boost
- THP usage in kernel and memory allocator
- Optimized task scheduling
- Specific boosting in performance critical scenarios
- Full audio and video offloading functionality

- Much more
Note: Custom kernels are explicitly unsupported and will cause issues
unless they state that they are AOSPA compatible or AOSPA based!

Install instructions
If you use Xposed we wont be able to give you any support and we can't guarantee you a flawless experience with Paranoid Android.
We highly recommend you to follow these instructions very carefully. Users usually tend to skip a few steps and eventually fall in trouble. Are you with me? Good. Let's get this train going.
Just a few things to keep in mind first -
If you're coming from another ROM / Stock, your system data (not internal storage) will have to be wiped. This includes apps, accounts, messages, call logs etc.
There's been some users complaining about different GAPPS variants messing up installs and causing a ton of issues. Upon investigating it seems OpenGapps Mini/Nano work best.
Understand that Paranoid Android is a custom ROM and it might lead to addiction as it's relatively good. We shouldn't be accused of anything just incase your cat starts drinking wine. Things get a little woozy in the Paranoid World.
Some brain might be involved if things go wrong. Not a lot though, as much to solve what's 1+1.
Okay let's get to the main bit.
We recommend a full wipe.
Flashing order:
1. Back up to PC everything you would need (whole of Internal Storage including and not limited to
Titanium Backup folder, Music, Pictures, etc)
2. Flash TWRP
3. Format all partitions except the "internal" partition**
4. Flash Firmware zip
5. Flash AOSPA zip
6. Flash Gapps zip
7. Flash Magisk or SuperSu (optional)**
8. Reboot System
** SuperSu 2.79 and earlier is confirmed to fail. 2.82 is tested and confirmed to be working.
First boot time would be about 3-4 minutes on an average.
In case you are encrypted, read on:
9. If you were already encrypted, it asks for a password (pattern or pin), provide and if it goes
through, great and go back to Step 5
10. If you’re stuck, ONLY then read on…
a. If in case TWRP doesn’t accept your password and says ‘Can’t Mount Storage’, you will
have to use FASTBOOT from a PC to go further from here.
b. Assuming you have FASTBOOT working and it recognizes your device, the following need
to be done:
1. fastboot format userdata
2. fastboot format cache
3. fastboot format system
4. fastboot erase boot
5. fastboot reboot
7. Reboot phone into Recovery
8. In TWRP, Wipe – Format Data.
9. Install from Step 5 onwards.

Precision about this build : its UNOFFICIAL .
I asked permission on Twitter, to arter97, thecrazylex and xboxfanj to make an unofficial thread on XDA, which has been ignored by the ones being active on Twitter (I know 2 of the 3 arnt active, but one of these guys is, and purely ignored me)
Thats why this thread is here, and I plan to update it
Édit : @TheCrazyLex answered to me, approved the creating of a XDA thread
EDIT 2 : One of PA members confirmed lack.of support for OP5 with PA Nougat, as support will begin with O. If you want pa_cheeseburger based on Nougat, install my builds ?
I won't ever include any mods to the ROM, like add blockers, Xposed, OOS Camera app, or whatever else. This ROM is and will stay the simplest possible, a simple Paranoid Android build for the OnePlus 5.
My phone starts to lag, why?
If you encounter slowdowns after weeks of using, please run these commands on a terminal app on your phone (assuming you're using Magisk)
su
/data/magisk/busybox fstrim -v /data
Phone should be as fast as the day you just clean flashed
if this command doesnt works, reboot into TWRP and run :
fstrim -v /data
If you guys want to build your own pa_cheeseburger builds, take a look to my instructions
Nice! Welcome and tks!

The camera with PA is pretty much identical to OOS for picture quality and for low light shots its better however 4k EIS is not as good as OOS.

I'm really liking this ROM now that it is updated. GPS works, so I can use it. Fingerprint enrollment does not work, though, on a clean install with no Magisk. Also, and I don't think this is your fault, but I can only view this thread on a browser on my PC. There is some kind of URL parsing error when I try with the XDA Labs app on my phone.

Fingerprint works if you apply the solution mentioned in thread of crdroid pie. I did it and mine is working fine as before.
That's not working for me. I'll probably resort to dirty flashing it over a Nougat or Oreo build.
Couldn't customize navigation bar or hide it. Missing Expanded desktop tool. All others are working fine.
We're official!

I can't seem to find the settings to enable the built-in dark theme. There is an option to enable "Black AF" when in dark mode, but no toggle for dark mode. Am I looking in the wrong place (display settings), or is it not there?
2/24 OTA update is out!
https://ota.aosiprom.com/kiwi
Changelog:
Code:
Settings: change default night light brightness
SystemUI: Show bluetooth battery level when available
WeatherClient: miscellaneous improvements
SEPolicy updates
Removed quick unlock (buggy for longer pins)
Automatic translation import
SmartActions backend support
Actions: Add ringer modes
CustomActions: Add ringer modes
BlackAF: bring inline with recent changes to dark
Add Wellbeing BlackAF theme
Support system-as-root A-only backuptool
Telephony: Support muting by RIL command
ConsumerIR: Support Huawei's DSP chip implementation
RIL: Allow overriding RadioResponse and RadioIndication
CustomActions: Add support to launch applications
SquishyNavbar: If power saver is on, don't allow feedback
CustomActions: Screen off availability
ActionUtils: Add screen on action
Properly add TurboPrebuilt and updated Wellbeing
SystemUI: fix landscape powermenu layout
Add busybox
Fingerprint enrollment worked with clean install (yay), and dark theme toggle was there. Then I realized it had been missing because substratum was installed (duh), so that was never a bug.
I found that Cast crashes System UI upon trying to connect to a wireless display, just like it used to happen on Arrow OS ROM. Hope you're so kind as to fix it like you did it for Arrow. I'm attaching my logcat to this post, just in case.

Goes without saying but, truly appreciate your work bringing a variety of really cool ROMs to this phone!
---------- Post added at 08:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:06 PM ----------
And for you guys who are wondering whether you should switch over to this ROM, I say it's a close cousin of Arrow and crDroid and Lineage and whatnot, in terms of overall look and feel, the merit being it contains even less system apps (not even a basic music player app or a browser) which translates to about 1GB more free storage compared to crDroid. It has fair amount of customization available but not as customizable as crDroid. (that one is pure gold when it comes to UI tweak options) What's more I get the feeling AOSiP is more responsive comparatively and the UI lag is less here, but I might just be imagining things.

We are very excited to announce the release of Paranoid Android Quartz, based on Android 10.
On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app, included in our builds.
Our builds are based on the Code Aurora Forum Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.

Hello whyredFire, maybe it's just my phone but whenever I tap on the Google search bar, it doesn't pop up the keyboard unless I tap the cursor again. This doesn't happen in other search bar, such as the Settings search bar

I tried it couple many times, and it's fine here. Since you've dirty flashed this one.... I would recommend a clean flash. Tip: Backup all your stuff using an app called "Migrate" on Play Store and you're good to go.
I have been having issues with whatsapp notifications on Paranoid, earlier on Quartz 4 but on Quartz 5 too.
Things like receiving calls but the phone remains asleep, or messages being notified tens of minutes later.
Today I tried Lineage 17.1 and it works fine.
Unfortunately I won't be able to try any solution until I decide to reflash the rom, but I'd like to know if this is a known issue and/or there is a trivial solution.
COD Mobile
Excelent ROM, battery Life
But COD don´t load, only black screen

I dirty flashed from PA 4, didn't have any issue thankfully.
Did you wipe system, dalvik and cache?
Thanks OP for the updates! Fingers crossed I don't have any more excessive battery drain from my Mi Band being connected.
Edit:
Working great! battery life is amazing now. Also not sure if it's just me but it feels more fluid now too.
Thanks again!
Mr. WhyredFire, could you add live display please?
where's the download link? Also on official website any idea when it will be available because except 2-3 models quartz5 is available there for every model and ginkgo is among those 2-3 unfortunately

Hi. There are 2 things that I miss and couldn't find on settings even with nova launcher installed. It's possible to enable?
1) partial screen shot
2) assign functions to hold the virtual buttons like holding the back button kill the active app.
Thanks

Hi guys, we're posting this message today to talk about RevengeOS. We want to talk about the developers of our project.
There are just three developers that hard-worked every day for you, to deliver optimization, exclusive RevengeUI, media controller, etc. We want to make this project more and more exclusive, and we want to improve everything. And lastly, we want their users to be happy while using it. But there is a problem, three developers can't do much. So, we're here to ask if you - if you're a developer, and if you want to join us, you may do so. We have the following requirements:
Knowledge of Android and Java
Desire to be innovative

Added walleye build too and clean flash may be needed for people who are using unofficial on taimen.
The vanilla ROM is working fine, however with NikGapps am getting too much slow and sluggishness in First time setup itself , result in multiple reboots before am able to key-in EMail/password of my account. Is anyone facing similar issues? Any suggested workarounds - like a gapps build or does opengapps work ?

Ive never seen that happen, which nikgapps variant?, but....
Did you:
wipe userdata (making sure you have backed up anything you loved in /sdcard) or at least delete your /sdcard/Android folder before flashing ROM if coming from a previous ROM
do a factory reset after you flash gapps and before rebooting to system and doing setup

I tried my custom built one and also the stock nikgapps.
Did you:
wipe userdata (making sure you have backed up anything you loved in /sdcard) or at least delete your /sdcard/Android folder before flashing ROM if coming from a previous ROM
Done - No results
do a factory reset after you flash gapps and before rebooting to system and doing setup
Will try this option with the next week's build as I switched to Fluid already to set my phone up for work.
Which ROM (and version) are you on these days when you are looking for something lite and stable.

I have tended to stay with Pixel Experience, it seems to have less issues for me with my banking apps and root detection. If i wasnt concerned with banking apps, Proton....Proton would be the most stable/relatively lite ROM going, always developed. It was my go to but i have some issues with it, but those are personal and edge issues

My dear developer, we are very moved by your determination to spend time and energy on making aospa for 12x users. I sincerely feed you back some bugs here instead of telegram.
I am now alpha2, and I have used test8 before
1.Hide Gesture indicator
I know that we can hide the Gesture indicator by installing modules, but if you add this function in alpha like test before, it will provide more convenience for users.
2. ois and udfps
We know that these additional functions (ois and udfps) have greatly improved the user experience, but they also pose a great challenge to dev. Provide the corresponding log in the attachment
3. The screen color changes color when the screen is at the lowest brightness
Pa seems to have no minimum brightness threshold for psyche
4. Automatic brightness
It seems that there are still some problems: when the screen content displays a white background in the sensor area, the screen backlight will automatically and slowly light up. When the ambient light is dark, the brightness of the screen drops to the lowest value when the screen is opened for the first time, causing the screen to be very dark and unable to see anything.
Thank you for your efforts and contributions to 12x, and you have done well! good job!
Nice work! I'm really enjoying it. For some reason it feels faster, although that may be my imagination.
The only problem I'm having aside from those noted above is that it bootloops sometimes, although it always works the second or third time it tries to boot. I'm rooted and using LSposed, which could be factors. Also, there doesn't seem to be a way to boot into safe mode, which worries me if the bootloops continue.
Everything else is working well aside from the known issues. Face unlock and DT2W are great. It's passing SafetyNet and banking apps are working.
Thank you for the great work. I'd be glad to test or provide logs if it will help.

Thank you for the great work. I'd be glad to test or provide logs if it will help.

Hello! I'm glad you liked it
I had never faced a random reboot here, and the LSposed can be the case, but next time, try to catch a ramoops and share with me (it will be at sys/fs/pstore.
About the Safe Mode, hold the "Restart" button on Power menu, it will give you an option to restart into safe mode.

Thank you for your efforts and contributions to 12x, and you have done well! good job!

Hello! Thanks for being a tester and sharing logs alongside your feedback.
I'll answer according to your enumeration:
1. I can add the option for hiding navbar gesture pill in the next release.
2. Yeh. For now I'm focused on OIS, but it's giving some headache
3. It's because the screen brightness is going to a very low brightness value, looks like I forgot to setup the lowest allowed brightness.
4. For auto brightness I need to perform tests with different overlay values. For now I'm using the stock MIUI values.
Hope this rom have stable version soon. Sorry that i cannot test current version, my work need a stable for daily usage

Thank you so much for your work! Are GApps included? If not, is signature spoofing possible, so that mircoG can be installed?

Hello! Yes, GApps is included.
I want to feedback a system problem. The connection speed of WiFi is always only 54Mbps, and I can't recognize WiFi 6, that is, IEEE 802.11.ax, which leads to the speed of only 20Mbps when I download files.

hey hi, any developments on this? if you fix those issues, i think your rom will be perfect, and ill finally buy the phone
CLO very good - hope to see the final version soon. Thank you for all your efforts to make this phone have a fully functional custom.
I gave the command in cmd
fastboot boot boot.img
Nothing happens the phone reboots into the system and I don't know how to continue the installation.
After boot, go to '' and execute the following command:
adb sideload aospa-topaz-alpha-*.zip
How do I make "apply update from adb" how after installing boot.img nothing happens the phone reboots only to system?
