How is the Audio quality of Honor 8 pro via headphone jack ?
Nobody discuss it much
According to what I read on gsm arena, they said the quality isnt going to disappoint.
The quality is good, can't really compare to many other phones (not used their plug in much) but my last one, Sony Z2 (which had really good quality). I use the 8 Pro both with headphones and plugged into my car and the sound is good, proper bass and the volume goes much higher then you ever need. Also nice to have the jack on the bottom of the phone along with the speaker, because when you put it in your pocket, it will gather much less dirt when you usually put it "top first" in your pocket. This I noticed compared to my Z2

I can't really answer that question (don't know my headsets rating). My guess is that 16ohm will work just fine, isn't it a kinda standard rating?

Yes.....most of earphones are 16ohm... Am choosing between LG G6 Vs Honor 8 pro . All specs are ok for me. Just I worry about audio quality via headphone jack.
Or comparing to Sony Z2 how is it ?
What do you feel Sony Z2 Vs honor 8 pro audio quality ?

Don't worry, the quality is good with headphones, i.e Spotify with, best quality sound great. I also stresm it via BT to my 200€ speaker and there is nothing to complain about there either. The sound quality is definitely not something you need to worry about.

NO quality is not good. I had better output from Lenovo K3 note. This is the only disappointing thing about this phone.
Normal user won't notice it much but there is not that kind of punch from BASS that you would expect from a phone at this price point. To its defence I put it against my LAPTOP but i can clearly remember what K3 note would sound like with same songs and on the same earphones. The dynamic range is flat, I don't know how to define it.

Haha you just compared a Media centric phone to a cheap phone. Come on man . If u saying about the amount of bass in music... Bass is not all about music...
Anyway I am going to purchase a good set of earphones and will update the review
The quality is good. Don't know how someone can call it bad (faulty phone maybe?).
If you don't believe me, then here the review from Gsmarena.com: http://m.gsmarena.com/honor_8_pro-review-1604p8.php

NO i am not saying that bass is everything, I was just being less technical. It's average at best. And lenovo K3 note being a cheap phone have a great audio output, specially with Chinese VibeUI (2.8??) on android 5.1.

It's not bad(sorry if i said it before, i might have got carried away) but it's average. It could be possible to make it better if they provide some kind of equaliser with builtin DTS enhancement. From Review from GSMarena, i was hyped too after listing to it i was like meh...

Yes I know we are talking about Honor 8 pro and don't mind which earphones I am using cause I used this same ear phones to compare with my laptop. It's (h8p) bass is mushy(if you can figure out what mushy is) while the output from laptop was punchy(again its my interpretation), while playing the same video on YouTube. After listing to it for a while I am satisfied with it.

Well, the earphones you use also play a role. It's not that just because your laptop can drive that particular set of earphones, so even your phone will.
Also, I don't know which DAC is there in the honor 8 pro and that does has much effect on audio quality too.
Sorry if I sound offensive. ?

I know what you mean, and don't worry earphones are mi capsule so they could be easily driven by both.
I listen to music on the 8 Pro all the time and the audio quality is good. I don't use the Huawei earphones because I find them unconfortable but I suppose if you are into music you already know that there are much better earphones on the market.
The audio quality is comparable with the Sony Z Series and definitely better than the Honor 5x that I used for a few months.

GSMArena audio quality reviews are nothing actually. They are all about numbers, don't tell anything about real performance. Infact the more flat and lifeless sound a phone has, better ratings it gets in GSMArena reviews.
I think one should look for PocketNow and head fi's dedicated Audio reviews for better idea.

Sony Z series is one of the quietest and dullest around in the market when Audio via 3.5mm jack is concerned. So comparison to that shows the lack in audio quality of Honor 8 Pro.
I saw PhoneArena's review. They checked out it's output, it just 0.43 volts. For comparison, OP3T has around 0.84 volts output, OP5 has 0.97 volts, iPhone is 1 volts, Lg V20 and Axon 7 are even higher than that.

Thanks man, waiting for it.
As for GeekyRanjit, have found his opinion regarding Sound Quality wrong in the past. According to him Redmi Note 3 has average Audio Quality, but i have it and audio quality is great. Warm and fun sound, punchy/tight bass, mids are great, treble is good too(no piercing), soundstage is pretty wide, output is more than enough (gets pretty loud at 60% vol) and i have Sony Mdr XB70 in ear headphones.
One has to enable Mi Sound Enhancer from settings to get great Audio in Xiaomi phones, after that i suspect their dedicated Amp section is activated. This setting is applicable systemwide in every application.
Have seen Honor 8 review on PocketNow, and they checked it's audio properly and weren't impressed, average at best. Afaik Honor 8 Pro readings are similar in audio, so not expecting much but anyways let's see.

Q: whit is the ohm rating headphones I can use with my P6? The earphones I want is 18ohm. I am affraid its to low? The 300ohm headphone I saw is much to high and will be very soft. Will the internal audio amp work good with the 18ohm or not?
Thanx

Internal audio amp will work perfectly with 18ohm, even works well with 32ohm. Haven't tried but I dont think you will be able to run off 300ohm headphones from the phones internal amp, also 300ohm for portable headphones is alot

Might I ask what headphones are you aiming to buy? Also the budget?
I bought for my p6 the 16ohm Sennheiser In-Ear CX 300-II Precision . They work perfect and sound quality is the best for the budget.

The budeget: Not more than R2000 ( abought 200 dollars) or as little as possible. I was aiming for the Sennheiser Momentun One Ear(18 ohms), while its little over the budget , I dont think ist going to be worth it. Why I say this, is I had a demo today with the Sennheiser 205, in the store it was R1500. The audio quality with that compared to a cheapie.......was not much. I think our phone audio is not top notch. So I wont sped allot of money on good head phones. I am going for the Koss Porta Pro. Do you know much of headphones?

I am a sound fanatic. But I don't know much about lower powered ones, I always use my headphones on my amp, and I use Apple's new Earpods for my phone just because they sound alright.
I have Sennheiser HD535s they are about 20 years old, and boy they still sound better than almost anything I can find, I pair them with my Technics SU-500 amp, which is also roughly 30 years old ( Back when Technics were actually good. )
I'll do a bit of reading and come back to you, it helps that I am also in SA so that I know it's available here
Also have to say, cheaper Sennheisers are disappointing. R1500 for those are way to much, you can get those for R400-R750.

The HD 335 looks decent for R1700.
They look a bit bulkier than the Momentun's.

Seems like they are made for mobile, they are 32ohm.

P6 doesnt have a good audio chip, true, the audio jack is also designed in a weird way - eg rotating the audio plug around it sometimes goes to mono and so on
I'm looking to buy a new phone. The audio quality is an important aspect for me..
Right now I have a Galaxy S6 which is OK. Not the best, not the worst.
Would it be a downgrade or an upgrade? Also,if anyone can compare it with the OP3(which is mediocre) ..that would be great.

I cant speak for a comparison to the OP3, but I've heard very good things about the headphone jack (if thats the kind of audio quality you're looking for) on the moto z play, and I have actually used it with my ATH-M50x headphones and it works very well. Headphone jack plays loud and clear with no background hissing. Speaker quality, I think its pretty good, its fairly loud and sounds pretty good. If you really want amazing audio quality you can use the jbl moto mod which will give you very good sound and be really loud (I own one and I love it).

Anyone having issues with music sound quality through the headphone jack should try making sure the equalizer in the stock google play music app is completely off, and then disabling the app in settings. After that reboot the phone. For me it was a night and day difference...

I didn't even have a chance to test this nor did I think about it until you asked. but I have a pair of Shure SHR440's they are amazing reference headphones. The sound coming out of this phone is well, it's... sound. Honestly if you're an audiophile look elsewhere. So far that's the only thing I really don't like about the phone. Like it's so bad I may return the thing. My ears are telling me that the sound is heavily compressed for some reason. The cymbals in every song sound all washy and weird like when you download a ****ty MP3 by mistake. The bass has no punch and the mids sound like your listening through a metal garbage can. For me personally it's near unlistenable but I enjoy good quality sound in my music and have a tough time listening when it doesn't sound the way it's supposed to. My LG G3 has better sound to a degree that's almost hard to imagine... I'm gonna keep running tests but I think it's the DAC in the phone itself. It just sucks. Like yeah it's loud. But that's all.

Idk what you are talking about. I am coming from a z3 and I like the sound quality from the 3.5mm. Have you tried using poweramp?
I was using player pro... I'll give Poweramp a try. But I will say this even on YouTube the sound difference through the jack is crazy noticeable between this and the LG G3 I literally just tested it. Also what lind of music are you listening to? Because if it's dance or hip-hop or any kinda pop you're not gonna notice much of a difference.

So weird discovery? ... Rebooted the phone out of frustration but prior to rebooting I went into the google play music app disabled all the equalizer settings then disabled the app in settings. Upon reboot the sound quality seems better? Like a lot better? I have no idea why or how? But that seems to have done it. Also I did download Poweramp just for kicks and it's nice, I'll give it a shot for a while and see if it's worth buying.

So far the best smartphone I owned in the audio department was the HTC One M9, with its frontal dual speakers, as they were stereo, loud and clear, it always blew me away whenever I saw YouTube, Netflix or listened to music (without phones). Listening to music using the audio jack (or Bluetooth phones) it was an OK experience, nothing extraordinary, compared to the previous smartphones I owned (obviously with improvements phones have over the years).
As the HTC One M9 is last year's phone, I'd be logical to look into HTC One M10 (or better), as it should have better processing and screen configurations (and if HTC is smart enough, they kept or improved the already awesome frontal speakers).
The Moto Z Play has just one frontal speaker and (for me) is good enough, nothing compared to the HTC, but packs a decent punch if you want to see a video or listen to an audio, but to really listen to music or videos out loud, I'd advise you buying the JBL Mod, I personally do not own one but I've read good reviews about it, and you'd have a little more battery, I guess this Mod also comes with its own battery to power the speakers
Sorry not to compare with the OP3, but I don't have enough knowledge with this phone to have a relevant comparison.
Hope this helped! Cheers!

The HTC One M9 is better equalized, the bass in the Moto Z Play is more noticeable, but if you get a third party app that best equalizes the Moto Z Play it'll be just as great.
I haven't downloaded such app yet, but it shouldn't be hard to find. And use your own phones, the one that comes with the Moto Z Play sucks big time (at least for me).
I'd also be better for you to have more feedback from other users of the Moto Z Play, as audio is a very particular subject which varies from person to person.
I would like to add that the Z Play doesn't support every audio format out there. The hardware decoder is weak therefore I'd strongly recommend the "Neutron" music app which comes with its own software decoder. Or even the JetAudio or basically any app with a S/W decoder.

ya agree , i am using z play rooted with viper4android installed. & it sounds Best with 3.5mm jack it can beat any device if configure proper
Quickly tested the audio quality of my new Z Play against my old Note 4 910C with Wolfson audio chip.
I use a pair of Ultimate Ears Triple FI 10. (IEM's which costed about 300€ some years ago.) Listened to some fast Punk songs.
I would not call me an Audiophile - I can't hear a difference between 320 KBit MP3 and Flac. But of course between 128 kBit and 320 kBit.
So I do care about good audio quality.
I could not notice a significant difference between the Note and the Moto. Even if there was one I wouldn't be able to tell which one was better. Different headphones or a heavily compressed audio file will for sure make way much more of a difference.
To be sure I ordered this external DAC: http://hifimediy.com/tiny-dac
It's an external Sabre DAC with improved Jitter and noise level at a very tiny size. Curious to see if I find a difference, but I don't expect very much.
I think the Moto as all recent phones delivers a very neutral and loud enough sound output at pones that don't need to much pwer.
its good but not the best
Coming from the V10, it's definitely a step down but not bad. For over-ear or on-ear portable headphones that are designed to be efficient,it's not bad at all. For sensitive IEMs, the signal isn't clean enough, you can hear a background hiss and interference from the cell radio, etc. And of course driving higher impedance headphones well like the V10 can do is out of the question.
how is the external speaker? I have seen some reviews that say its average.. I know I want to make sure its decent...
I understand it can't compete with dual front facing speakers... but how does it compare to other similar speaker setup phones? I am glad it is at least front facing!

Did today also a small comparison with the 180 $ Sony walkman of my GF: Could not find a difference.
With high impedance headphones the Hifimediy Android DAC http://hifimediy.com/tiny-dac did a very good job to me. Tested it with 600 Ohm AKG K 141 - was still loud enough. Didn't seem to influence my battery.
So I have no concerns any more using the Moto as my portable audio device.
The sound signature thro' headphone jack is better than average. However, please don't buy moto z play if you love listening to music at lower volume thro' headphone jack. The background static, crackling sound is much higher as the radio antenna band is located very close to it ( a white band over usb type c port). Better the headphone quality more prominent is the static. I tried multiple in-ear headphones ( shure se 125 , Sennheiser cx 275s). It is design flaw.
I found some crazy earphone

But it won't trigger the quad dac.Because it has 46ohms similar my apple earpod.Only 50+impedance will trigger the quad dac.
Btw Soundmagic e50 has 50-51ohms.

Will Creative Aurvana Live! work well with DAC on this phone?

Maybe it would be good thread to write how to determine if headphones are appropriate for that phone?

I guess not.Because it has only 32ohm.
You can try a high impedance adapter from ebay 7-8$ with your current headphone.
Just look for the headphone impedance, which has minimum 50ohm.
Note-I am not a sound specialist, i just get some idea after googling.
Soundmagic E50C-51 ohms
Soundmagic E80C-64ohms
For reference Sound magic is an award winning company for providing best bang for buck quality
My Sennheiser Momentum 2 are 18 Ω and they trigger the quad-DAC.
I have problem with choosing Senheiser Momentum in ear G or RHA MA750i. Somebody have some recommendations?

There is a simple way to activate the sabre amplifier.
Get a 3.5mm male to female adapter. Connect to lg g6 . it will activate external adapter connected.
Then plug in your standard <50ohm headphones.
Enjoy.
you can try to apply for this|

Well i Have EC10's with 46 Ohm. They only trigger External mode with the included Y-Adapter. The Earphones sound superb on pretty much every Device except the G6. The Quad DAC cancels out the Dynamics and Bass. If you like neutral analytic sound you will be very satisfied. If you want atmospheric, open wide airy Sound, you will be dissapointed a lot. The DAC will go into HiFi mode when using the E50s or E80s. But the Sound signature wont improve, your AMP will just be driven harder which equals in louder sound. Thats basically the whole point of the HiFi mode. If you use Headphones with 250 Ohms it would be extremely quiet in Normal Audio mode, so a better solution is to give this privilege to the higher Ohm headphones and not drive the AMP with full power when something with low resistance is plugged in. This is needed to prevent your headphones from taking damage, improvide battery life (A AMP can draw more power then your CPU). And to guarantee a clear sound playback because lower end Headphones will distort to that point that everything is just buzzing if you drive them with a lot of power.
I will try OneMore E1001 Ref Headphones and see if the sound improves but i doubt that because my USB DAC (70-200$) sounds miles better with the same EC10s that i use with my G6.
All of my earphones trigger the DAC even cheap ones, I have however purchased some Soundmagic E80's and all I can say is WOW, easily the best earphones I have ever used and highly recommended. Purchased refurbished (but appear to be new and unused customer return) on eBay for £35 with three sets of Comply tips thrown in http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321924939199
I have the Sony mdr-100aap, with IMPEDANCE (OHM)
24 Ω at 1 kHz. Should it trigger the dac? They are supposed to be HiFi compatible. I only see normal headphones when plugged.
If all you are looking at is impedance rating to trigger the amp, you are doing it wrong. Find the headphone that sounds best to you *regardless* of impedance, and let the phone do its job.
My vote is for the Campfire Audio Nova or Dorado.

That website has a popup that I can't get around on my phone, and I refuse to click it. Bull**** site. Search for venture electronics instead.
I did see they're the VE Zen earbuds briefly, I heard they're like the VE Monk with bass. That is a REALLY good thing. I can't justify the $150 though many can and likely should. The Monks are really good.
Guys, if you're looking for clear and precise sound, I strongly recommend you to look at the balanced armature headphones. Instead of 1 dynamic driver which covers the entire frequency range they have 1,2,3... practically up to as many as you wish drivers each for a specific frequency segment. A lot of manufacturers make it, such as Sony, Sure, Audio Technica, RHA, Vsonic, Dunu. I'm pretty happy with my Sony XBA-A2 headphones which has always sounded good with any source and with LG G6 their potential is being even more fully unlocked

How ? Does it show high impedance mode in DAC settings ?
Guys realy ?Many same question.
Ok then last time.
Minimum OHM 50 ..This working minimum(QDAC) (OR trick search v10 or v20 high gain trick(need special cables)
So 18 ,24 ,33 ,16 NOT trigger..50+?Yes!
But the headphone not all...Need music player .HD music supported professional music palyer: Poweramp(need setup) usb audiplayer pro(need setup) or totaly free HibyMusic player(need setup)
And last...Good quality music(recomendent 24bit 96Khz minumum)Then happaning the magic!

Absolutely correct...
Sound quality is subjective... People should stop worrying about the amount of impedance... And look for the headphones they like...

Hi , i would likle to request that honor please work on headset quality or speakerphone . it has very bad sound quality even in earphone dosent have that much of sound maximum level and it has dts quality but i really dont think that is well enough ..there should be equaizer option in music app. honor 8 pro dosent have good output if i play songs through 3.5mm aux to speakers . its really annoying . please work on .
It can be improved a little bit we an equalizer, given the fact the it doesn't have a DAC (like LG V30) the sound quality through headphone is not good
similar item suggested here:

12. Improve on volume level, especially when using earphones. Also, an equalizer?
we'll work on getting honor to look into everything listed there...
I really hope they improve it. Audiophile here as well.

Shouldn't be an issue. I guess your ears are accustomed to the sound levels from your previous phone.
I too have the same earphone and yes, initially I found the volume low but it's completely fine now.
On my previous phone, I would the volume at about 20 to 30 percent. On honor 8 pro, I have to keep it at around 60 to 70.
And yes equaliser is missed.
But sound clarity is really great.

The DTS is bad at least for me. It muffles the sound a bit.
I've own sony xperia z1 before, and have to agree that honor 8 pro music player just too basic. DTS improve it a bit, but it will be good if they add equalizer and clear bass just like xperia music player. Its just a software tweaks they missing.

How about Dolby and Viper? I was using it on my Honor 8 Pro, and I will surely use it once I root my Honor 8 Pro.
Recently the speakee volume or the headset output has decreased on honor phones. Not aure why. Honor 4X, 5X sounds are still loud enough. 6X is very bad with very low loudspeaker.
Seems camera is increasing and sound is decreasing
Well it says that it supports Hi-Fi audio. But how Hi-Fi is it? What DAC is inside? In particular, I would like to know how the sound quality is from the 3.5mm audio jack compared to Hi-Fi mode of LG v30, my current phone. I simply cannot get a phone that downgrades my audio experience, you know?
Even I am interested in this. The specs talk about Hi-res audio. It has Dual 5-magnet speakers with dual NXP smart amplifiers and PMIC internal dual amplifier according to the specs. Does it really have a DAC or does it only have amplifiers. How is the sound quality. I would really like somebody to post their review.
DAC Performance
I don't have technical details on the DAC inside, and I have don't have v30 to compare, but I can tell you that the sound quality combined with DTS is amazing.
I am quite an audiofile and I was impressed with the sound quality. I don't like the bundled earphones unfortunately. I used my BT headset.
I have a P20 as well, which is a much more expensive phone with a DAC, and 5Z's sound quality is comparable. I love P20's headphones though.
The most important and the best thing about 5Z is that DAC/DTS works for bluetooth headphones as well. I have not seen any phone having this feature (may be S9, but I don't know). With phones such as OP, I had to root and use Viper4Android to make by BT headphones sound better. Now, with 5Z, I can keep my phone unrooted and enjoy the great audio experience.
Unfortunately, I don't like the UI and animations of 5Z, and I would use a custom rom when available. I am sure such roms will come for 5Z because with such high-end specs and aggressive pricing, many developers would buy this phone
Cheers

I have both LG g6 and g7 but the Zenfone 5Z's sound is the best!!
5z doesn’t have any dedicated DAC as per few video reviews beebom or igyaan audio quality and amplification via headphone jack is not that great. I have a v20 with root and high impedance mode always on. I don’t think this phone compares to any of the recent LG flagships in terms of audio quality. The only place where 5z beats LG would be in the loudspeaker setup where 5z has stereo setup.

I sincerely hope you weren't serious when you said you are an audiophile!
First of all, you can't rate any phone's DAC or AMP performance by using BT headset. Bluetooth headphones have their own inbuilt DAC that they use to process sound when they receive audio in the form of digital signal via Bluetooth from the phone. Then by using their internal inbuilt DAC they convert that Digital signal to Analog signal.
Second of all, are you even serious when you rate Huawei P20/P20 pro sound as great ? Huawei/Honor phones have one of the weakest audio performance out there. Puny amp, okayish DAC, nothing more. Similar is the case with P20/pro.
"P20 is a phone with a DAC !" Which phone isn't the one with DAC? Every phone has one. Some use inbuilt one inside their processors, some employ custom ones for better sound fidelity.
"DAC/DTS works for headphones too!" DAC doesn't work for Bluetooth headphones, it's just that 5z allows to change sound settings of Bluetooth headphones from phone's stock settings. It by no way means that phone's DAC is being involved in Bluetooth headphones. It's simply not possible.
And DAC and DTS aren't the same things either that they can be written interchangeably.
I hope it helps. I by no way mean that 5z has bad audio quality but just corrected some of the things that weren't correct.
I frequently use aux in my car and this is the first device that doesn’t make distortion in sound during high volume. I love it. My car sound system is like concert place now.
The whole Hi-Res audio thing is mainly just marketing and playback support, less to do with the actual quality of the DAC and amp. Nowadays most smartphones can play 24-bit audio at high sample rates (eg. 192kHz). Sony marketed that for many years but their phones kept using on-board Qualcomm DACs with low output voltage (~0.35V from Z5 to XZ Premium). I have the Z5 and I think it's audio quality is good for IEMs but it can't drive some larger headphones very well.
ASUS says there's smart amplifiers but those seem to be for the speakers rather than the headphone. PhoneArena did a review recently and measured the output voltage of the headphone jack to be only 0.252V! That's even lower than the Sony Xperia XZ Premium (0.36V). Of course it's not the end-all, but a higher output voltage would be better at driving higher impedance headphones.
Some users talk about EQ modes sounding better but these things can't improve the quality of the hardware's output (eg. distortion and stereo crosstalk). All they can do is alter the tuning to your preference.
The DAC on the 5Z is just ok ; not audiophile grade by any yard stick . It struggles with high impedance proper headphones like ATH
Which ATH do you have? I had MSR7 and the Xperia Z5 (0.35V) was good enough to drive it for most songs. Does it hiss with low impedance IEMs? Do you hear any distortion or stereo crosstalk? Hopefully someone does measurements...
How does it perform compared to Xperia Z5 to XZ Premium?
I am currently having Sound Magic e80c earphones which have impedance of 64 Ohms. Can one confirm whether it can work on 5z? Currently I am using it with Oneplus One and it works fine.

You will be disappointed. As the output voltage is quite low, this phone isn't capable of driving high impedance headphones.
It's a shame that Asus is making fool of people in the name of "DTS headphone". I have e10C and I have to take the volume all the way upto 100% for movies.

Yeah the DTS headphone X is a gimmick ..
I think there is presently no phone in the market which will come near LG V20, G6, V30 and G7 headphone audio performance, particularly with respect to driving high impedance ear/head phones. Actually, I am searching for another brand other than LG which will give a similar high end audio performance. I have a V20 and partnering that with my Sony MDR 7506 headphones or Venture Electronics MonkPlus earbuds (both having impedance around 60 ohms), the sound quality is awesome which I never found in other smartphones.

Just sold my LG v30+ due to screen ghosting issues and bought the 5z.
The DAC is good for headphones.
I confirm my 5Z can drive my Sennheiser HD58X Jubilee(150 Ohms) when the volume is at 95%.
The sound is not as good as my LG V20's Quad-Dac though.
All these phones are nothing compared to a vibe p1 on resurrection remix
I have LG v20 and in the hopes of gettin listening to mind-blowing awesome sound, I bought FiiO music player and I couldn't get satisfied on anything. Poweramp on LG always destroys low end or certain frequencies (usually male voice) when pushed a little hard and when not pushed, there's no low end to talk about at all. FiiO has no low end frequency at all.
The only thing that came have a little satisfaction was my good old Lenovo Vibe p1 on resurrection remix. Seeing how you guys are rating LG v20 as great or the best, is there something I'm not doing to get the best out of it? I've tried it on earphones, Bluetooth etc but it just doesn't cut it.

i owned lg g6 and the 5z audio quality is not that bad by any means, it's quite OK by 2018 smartphone standard, with it's gimmicky features such as dtx, hi res audio support , etc.
the LG quad dac is the king in the smartphone audio for now, but again, the 5z audio quality is not bad, unless you are very picky about audio quality,
even lg g6 / v30 dac chip still can't compete with my iBasso dx150.
if you never use a true hi res audio player before, the 5z audio quality will be just fine for you.
even for me imho, it's good enough.
