Hello guys!
My G3 was working fine but suddently (while using what's app) it turned off and started to bootloop, just stopping if I remove the battery.
So I flashed kdz stock with lg flash tool 2014, it turned on again, but only stay on while charging (AC powered), if it's on usb, it turns on for some seconds and reboots and if it's just on battery, it just show the LG logo and reboots. I already tried other kdz but also don't work.
On charger it works fine, I can do everything normally, for tests, I've rooted it, installed twrp and everything is ok. But also on TWRP, when I remove the charger it reboots.
Any help, please? Should I buy a new battery? I think that battery is not the problem because it was working great before the problem...
Seems like it could be a battery problem. Probably worth trying another one
Same bootloop issue but different circumstances I'm completely stock on M. Ordered new battery from LG. They are now in stock (in US) for $15. I hope it works.

I also had this problem, solution is a new battery (old batterys tend to fall in Voltage, which leads to bootloops).

Well im in a bit of a predicament, my Tab died while my cousin was using it and now ive put it on charge for 30 mins and it wont get past the flashing x boot screen googled it and noticed someone else has the same issue, is it common? any help?
You should be able to download and reflash the rom if needed but not sure if you have too.
What was your friend doing to it? Was he trying to unlock and root, etc?
Will it sync to your PC?

Last night I had a similar issue, it won't pass the initial Google logo.
I just held the power button down for a while, and it turned off, then I powered it on again and everything was fine.
It happened after I tried a bunch of apps and decided to restart it.

My won't get past the flashing x at all, rebooted several times, charged it, everything but it won't turn on

I am guessing it's related to the letting the battery run out of juice.
Charging a completely dead lithium battery may take much longer time. For several times I have to plugin and wait half hour to several hours before the battery even start charging, of course those were on other devices, but I think it should be common among all such batteries. May be the battery hasn't been charged at all.
Since you are still in US, I would suggest take it back for a exchange, whatever the reason, the device should be considered faulty. If you brought it on Amazon then just return and mail it out before you leave.
fixed it by resetting the device in recovery, all works fine now, found a dead pixel now not going to risk returning it now, device is working fine
Seems like it's a 4.3 issue

Try reinstalling stock kitkat. There's a thread by @hyelton explaining how to do it.
If that doesn't solve it. I strongly advise you to take it to a lg service center.
There might be a problem with the connectors.

The only issue is this is OTA update that I am referring to as being applied... No custom ROMs or flashing has been done...
Try replacing battery and test it on site, as some batteries seems better than others. Had same issue with mine and changed the battery, now its resolved.
Cleanup battery contacts, both on battery and device. if it still reports same error, replace it, it's probably damaged.
I battery with missing thermal sensor (spare replacement bought online), phone reported it as "cold" and "Invalid" and didn't want to boot unless I force it (start booting it to recovery then instead of pressing necessary button, just leave it, not sure if that will work for stock).
Hey guys im hoping to see if anyone can find a solution to this annoying problem i am having with my phone rebooting on me in the middle of using it. The phone would reboot once in a while and i never thought much of it, but recently(this past week) its been happening way too much. Im using my phone and then it reboots, but it goes into somewhat boot loop. it restarts anywhere from 1 time if i am lucky to around 10 times! once i get it to stop rebooting i use it a bit and it reboots on me again! This was happening in the stock LG OS and i got annoyed and flashed a lollipop rom and its still happening but it only reboots once. However if i start using it it reboots. The phone is becomeing essentially unusable!!! I then started to notice that if i am connected to the charger my phone does not reboot at all! no problem what so ever!
Any ideas of what i should do?
Is this happening to anyone else too?
I was thinking about unrooting it through TWRP and then upgrading it to the latest stock OS but i dont want to unroot it if i dont NEED to.. Any input is greatly appreciated

i know my opinion might sound stupid but did you try a new battery?since you mention that the phone do not reboot if is connected to the charger maybe you found the problem yourself

I haven't, i was thinking about that too but i am not sure if a battery can cause a boot loop? There is another guy thst posted a question similar to this in the LG G3 thread and he also says the phone does not reboot if its charging
I'd also rather not cough up $20 on a battery if i dont need it #brokecollegestudent haha
[EDIT]- Also my battery seems to be lasting me about the same i am about to go back to stock and not download any apps and see what happens
Similar issue
i had a similar issue after installing the new stock lollipop rom via twrp
it was rebooting on me every 10 minutes or so, and obviously that rebooting was killing the battery.
I had to just pull the battery and fix it.
Their may be a less drastic way to fix it. but I fixed mine by going back to stock completely.
I flashed stock via the ToT method and then upgraded to lollipop via the kbz method.
Fixed my phone, it's now working perfectly and I'm very good battery life again
Given that you mentioned twrp and lollipop I'm willing to bet we had a very similar issue
unrooting is a hassle, but at least it's free unlike buying a new battery
same issue - fixed with new battery
I had rve same issue where it rebooted randomly then after a few days just went into a boot loop. However it worked fine while plugged in. The guy in the shop said it was software related but i went ahead and ordered a new battery from amazon and now the phone is working perfectly.

did you order the anker battery? i saw that many people wrote reviews that when they tried using those batteries they got an error saying that the phone didn't support that battery or somewhere along those lines

no, i ordered the original LG BL-53YH from Amazon. You can get them at more than half the original price. Also as an alternative you can email LG directly and explain the problem. I did that and they are going to send me a free replacement battery.

It's a probably software issue. Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/fix-stuck-custom-recovery-trying-ota-t2907508 or revert to stock. I'd say the best bet is reverting to stock via TWRP http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-g3/general/firmware-t-mobile-lg-g3-t2818667
Hello,
So I had my D855 for 2 years and than, out of nowhere, my SD card didn't work anymore. I still think it is hardware issue.
But as it is 32gb device, I was fine with that.
And few days later it just turned itself off. No powering off device thing, it just went dead in my hand while I was replying to sms.
Nothing strange, I thought, so I took battery out, back in, nothing.
Plugged it in wall charger, nothing.
Longpress power (15 sec), nothing.
Volume down + power button, nothing.
New battery, nothing.
Charged it over night, nothing.
Plugged it in with no battery, nothing. Not even "can't charge" message. Plain dead.
Tried several other things, with no luck.
And I gave up, and left it on the shelf.
Last night, as a joke, I pressed POWER button and IT CAME ON! LG logo showed on the screen, and after 4-5 seconds, went dead again.
I have no idea what to try next, but this sign of life bring back hope to me.
Any suggestion is welcome.
Thanks in advance.
PS English is not my native, so sorry.
Forgot most important thing. I was on stock, and was never rooted! I have Nexus for that
Genuinely sounds like an issue with the battery. You might think otherwise, but get a new battery and give it a try. A dodgy or dying battery can cause insane amounts of issues, from SD card to display issues primarily because it's throwing out strange voltage readings.
Give it a try, if it doesn't work it's only cost a few £/$ but you'd be surprised.
I did try battery from friends g3, and it didn't work, but I'll get new one today and give it a try.

I went to the store, and this kind guy let me to try before I buy. So he opened brand new battery, and still dead.
I did wait with that battery inside for 10ish min, and even tried to plug the charger in, but nothing happened.
Any new ideas mate?

i have my LG G3 D855 for about 1.5 year now. i had cyanogenmod for a year. Sometimes, i mean once at the month it has been crashing, you know lagging for 2 seconds and restarting but i had the same problem on diffrent phones so for me it was nothing. Last week it started to keeps restarting, i dont mean bootloop. It started to crushing. sometimes i could wright the PIN, sometimes it crushed when rebooting. i've changed software many times, did hard reset, even used flash tool to flash kdz of original version of my LG and its still being the same what should i do? Please guys halp me!
Sounds like a battery problem. Get a multi meter and test the battery voltage across the positive and negative terminals, it should be the battery's voltage rating to make the phone boot properly.

It's definitely a G3? Not a G4? Well I don't have any ideas actually sorry. Try get it into a different mode apart from system boot. Like recovery or download mode, and see what you can do with that.

Try to put the brightness at 0
Mabye keep restart due to high temperature
I had a similar issue in this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/help/lg-g3-freezing-restarting-staying-boot-t3513239 but my issue turned out to be hardware related as replacing the battery did not aid (probably logic board issue).
Same here.
Started happening with Android 5.
Upgrading to 6 didn't change a thing.
Replacing the battery to a new original one neither.
Resetting neither, removing or changing SIM or SD card... Looks like it's an internal HW problem

I bought a new phone instead since my warranty was void already. The repair costs would probably have been ~ 200€ anyway (150€ for a motherboard + repair costs ~50€).
