This method is tested by me and it worked perfectly. With this guide you will be able to root your U9200 with b113 and b115(android 4.0 and 4.0.3).
I am not responsible for any data loss or bricked devices! You do it on your own risk!
1) Download this zip. The password is: ccc333
2) Extract the zip to your desktop.
3) Download Android SDK Tools from here and install the packages.
4) Plug your Ascend P1 to the PC.
5) Make sure that USB Debugging is checked (Settings -> Developer options -> USB debugging)!
6) Open "b113_b115-root_u9200---__[Nixing]" from your desktop.
7) Run "hwadb.exe".
8) Run "ubl.exe", click ROOT - this should root your device without restart and any problem, check if the Superuser icon has appeared.
After the device is rooted you will need to install recovery.
I used Geno's Recovery - run "Onekey_ROM_Ascendp1.exe" from the zip and the tool will install it.
From this recovery you can flash whatever you want w/o any problems! It's a little bit sad that it is in chinese but oh well...
I will attach a picture of the same recovery but in english so you can see what you are actually doing.
Good luck!
Hi.
When i try run "Onekey_ROM_Ascendp1.exe" i got stuck on reboot stage. Telephone just show Huawei Ascend. BTW Win 7 can't find driver for Blaze. I tried reboot manually with pressed power+volum up keys and recover update.zip. But recovery cant pass signature verification. :crying:

You can try this to install the recovery image onto the phone without the custom rom.
1. Download Android Control here (mirror) or here (XDA thread) and extract to a folder on your hard drive root (eg. c:\AndroidControl)
2. Download the Recovery image - recovery-new.img (the one included in Onekey) or recovery-off.img (the one that Onekey is based on)
Note: As far as I know, they are both Chinese language but based on ClockWorkMod so should be easy enough to navigate around. Edit: Though judging from the picture above then they may not be Chinese lol
3. Put whichever image you choose into the AndroidControl folder ready to be flashed over.
4. Make sure USB Debugging is enabled on your phone and then switch it off. Hold volume down and power key (I think lol) to boot into download mode (phone should boot to logo and then stop) then plug it into your PC.
5. Open a command prompt and navigate to your Android Control folder, run the following command -
fastboot flash recovery recovery-new.img
or
fastboot flash recovery recovery-off.img
depending which one you chose.
6. Once finished type - 'fastboot reboot' to reboot your phone.
7. Turn off your phone once rebooted and then hold the volume up and power keys to boot into recovery, if its in Chinese you've been successful
I am curious how you install some ROM as .zip file, when all original updates from Huawei have .app as extension.....

In my case it after step 5) it works a little bit different.
When run "Onekey_ROM_Ascendp1.exe" and stuck on reboot stage (just show Huawei Ascend), then you must install a driver for Blaze device manually, you can choose the standard "Android Adapter ADB interface" for this (it works in my case), after intalling the driver Onekey_ROM will resume and install only the recovery image and you phone is showing the Chinese recovery menu choose your "update.zip" or "gapps-signed.zip" from SD-card and it wil be installed (update.zip means your desired firmware).
It seems that the firmware in the Onekey_ROM_Ascendp1 tool will not be placed on the SD-card but in Local Storage, so it will not be installed, therefor put the "gapps-signed.zip" or "update.zip" before flashing on the SD-card so you can select it in Chinese recovery.
I only installed the gapps with original firmware B115 on the phone and all gapps are working.

Hi people,
I'm sorry for this little off topic but I don't know where to find other Huawei Ascend P1's users.
I would like to buy this device but before I would like to know if this device is going fine.
In particular way: how is the in call audio quality? Is it missing calls (like other Huawei device U8800 Pro)? How is the Network (GSM and/or UMTS-3G) quality?
Is the price balanced to the overall quality of the device? I just know that the Huawei Ascend P1 is able to record amazing video and the audio quality is really incredible, but the "phone" function, how is it?
Sorry for the off topic.
It's a great news that I can root the device, so probably at 99% I will buy it after reading your comments.
Thank you in advance,
regards,
kalo
Hey, I'm very pleased with my U9200, don't know about the others but everything works fine here. The device's default ROM was working perfect, I managed to root it and eventually changed to MIUI ROM. But yeah, the U9200 is a really good smartphone if you ask me. There are still not enough apps and tweaks for it etc.

Download Mode
Hey,
is there any trick to get into Download Mode/Fastboot?
Should I press both at the same time? When do I release them..
With Vol. Down + Power Key i don't get into Download Mode..
I just managed to get there once, but I don't remenber how I did it.
And by the way. When I press Vol.Up und Power, I get to the android recovery, stock. where I can do a wipe or apply a update from sdcard.
Pease let me known
jensema
EDIT:
Got it. Hold VOL. Down and then Plug in USB Cable.
Phone in Download Mode.
Now I need the right drivers.
Phone shows a "Blaze"
Can someone tell me which driver to use.
thanks
2.EDIT: Got it. Under Win7 , installing Hi Suite, then change Driver for "Blaze" to Android ADB Interface.
Fastboot working!

i searched on Google and i found this

4) After downloading the ROM and Google Apps, you are about to have a dialogue "Pre-installation of the ROM." You can make a backup of the current ROM, erase and Data Cache (sometimes necessary), Wipe Dalvik Cache (recommended).
That's all! (The first start can be very slow) "

Wrong place to post a query for a Huawei device buddy. You better re-post under the correct sub section.
By the way you can directly download the Cyanogen mod zip file from their website, put it on your SD card, boot into recovery and install from there and doing a back up and wipe.
Thx

Worked well thanks. Can I just ask, what is actually doing the rooting here? All I can see this doing is fast booting into recovery and then installing SuperSU. What am I missing?

What do you mean doesn't support ?
looks like that's Chinese version of 820U
IF YOU MEAN TO SAY YOU CANT SEE GOOGLE APPS IN YOUR PHONE THEN
TRY THIS 1st
1) open AppMarket (ok, it's all in chinese)
2) in the search bar enter GMS
3) download and install GMS安装器 (the icon is the android robot, with some gapp icon inside). it is 0,17M
4)launche the app
5) you'll be prompted to remove the SD card before proceed. when done press OK
6) the app will download more or less 190M. be sure to be connected to a wifi
7) when done, you'll be required to enter the code *#*#442#*#* in the phone dialer
8) the phone will reboot in recovery and will install the play store and all gapps
9) the phone will reboot
If some thing failed or doesn't work i think flashing Gapps from recovery will also work.
Just make a try and reply me back
Hi,
I flashed TWRP recovery from [cofface]: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nova-2/development/cofface-twrp-recovery-huawei-nova2-t3638482
But I also realised later, that TWRP is not yet aware of the encryption method of Huawei Nova 2 ROM and therefore does not backup User Data partition as posted in https://forum.xda-developers.com/nova-2/help/twrp-unable-to-backup-phone-recovery-t3730645.
However, I did a TWRP backup without User Data, but after some playing around I wiped the User Data and Cache partitions in TWRP and restored the TWRP backup to reset my phone.
It should work like a factory reset, but after restore a lot of apps didn't work anymore (camera, ...) or links were missing.
So, I decided to restore the stock Huawei ROM.
I downloaded ROM linked at https://forum.xda-developers.com/nova-2/development/rom-original-service-firmware-pic-t3732987.
As described in Picasso-L29C432B130CUSTC432D001_Europe_Channel_Software_Upgrade_Guideline_*.docx inside of PIC-L29_C432B130.zip:ReleaseDoc I did the following:
- Put all files from PIC-L29_C432B130.zip:Software to an SDCard in exFat format and plug in dual SIM card slot:
└─dload
├─PIC-L29_hw_eu
│ └─update_PIC-L29_hw_eu.app
└─UPDATE.APP
- Invoked the caller/dialer app in EMUI -> entered: *#*#2846579#*#*
- Went into ProjectMenu -> Software Upgrade -> SDCard Upgrade and pressed OK
Click to collapse
BUT HERE COMES THE PROBLEMS:
Software Upgrade tool only seems to write some job information onto the phone instead of doing the upgrade job directly by itself and then it tries to reboot the phone into original Huawei recovery for doing the job automatically, but this was already overwritten with TWRP recovery :crying: TWRP started but the software upgrade/restore process was not executed.
And Huawei e(mergency)Recovery [Volume UP + Power Button] simply did nothing, also not while connected to an open guest WLAN
The boot message link http://zh.ui.vmall.com/emotiondownload.php?mod=restore simply redirects me to https://www.emui.com/, which also does not help in any way.
NOW THE IMPORTANT QUESTION:
How can I flash the original Huawei ROM back to my Nova 2?
I see these possibilities:
1) Somebody sends me a link to the Huawei recovery, which I could flash with
Code:
fastboot flash recovery [I]recovery.img[/I]
If someone still got the original Huawei recovery on its Nova 2 but also has the phone rooted, he/she could do:
Code:
adb shell
$ su
# cd /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name
# ls -al
=> find symlink of recoveries, which should be recovery -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p29 and recovery2 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p22
# dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p29 of=/sdcard/recovery.img
# dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p22 of=/sdcard/recovery2.img
# exit
$ exit
adb pull /sdcard/recovery.img recovery.img
adb pull /sdcard/recovery2.img recovery2.img
...and uploads the files to a file hoster and send me the link.
2) Somebody sends me a link to a tool, which is able to decrypt the Huawei APP-images, which hopefully include the stock recovery image.
3) Somebody sends me a link to the Huawei flash tool for encrypted APP-images and some explanation, how to use it.
4) Somebody shows me a way to enforce Huawei HiSuite to do a reflash of Huawei ROM. Currently it says, that system restore is not supported on my phone (maybe because stock Huawei recovery is missing )
But maybe there is something else, which could help just as well...
ANY HELP WOULD BE REALLY APPRECIATED :good:
1. place the original service rom in dload-folder as you described.
2. shutdown your device.
3. hold "vol up", "vol down" and "power".
4. enjoy
5. tell me how i could update my wifes rooted (twrp+magisk) nova2 from b151 without wiping. (or how to backup and restore data partition)
@jsfgsdfhakjf
You need Huawei Update Extractor (I think 'RECOVERY.img' you can get in UPDATE.APP from service firmware PIC-L29C432B130) and Huawei Multi-Tool (to flash 'RECOVERY.img')
You can download stock recovery here... https://ufile.io/duucj
Thanks M!tch,
I think hold all keys together did it... which accidently pressed my girlfriend and I was wondering, why the recovery ran and did restore the stock image... and I sat around for days getting this working again :silly:
