Guy probably got sponsored by them, that's why he says it's only available in the paid version.

It should still be able to set the LED to flash on an incoming notification in theory I think

If this app does, then Light Flow should do it too.

Anyone Fixing The Notification Light

I experience and read of the unreliable and slow blinking LED notification light.
In my case, it will work about 50% of the time. I am hoping somebody in this community is looking it over.
It would be nice if were more reliable and at least blink faster.
What application do you use to manage your notification light colors?

^ Install that. It takes a bit to customize just how you want it, but it runs flawlessly.
There's a free version floating around on the market, but it's well worth the $1-2 or whatever it is now.

Yep, this is what I use and it works very well. Set the blink rate to very fast (very nice rate), ans buy the full version, as you can set lights for social apps too.
I was looking at light flow but holy cow the permissions it wants gives me pause.
Is all that necessary?
Well, if others are saying they've used it for a bit it's likely ok. But I would assume it needs all the extra permissions because it needs to collect data from them to light the LED. Can't light the LED on a new SMS if you don't know there is a new SMS.

Poor poor me cannot find a dark theme where they show screen shots of the messaging apps. They all seem to show every possible screen but those.
I am looking for reversed messaging app skins. white/gray/red (I don't care) text with BLACK backgrounds.
I do surveillance work. I need this.
And none of us want to break the law and text or read a message while driving but why wave a flag!

I have lightflow too it work good on the stock Verizon with free and paid version. But I have tried AOKP no luck. The MODAC rom has special script to work with trackball alert app led notifications. I wish app light flow would have support scripts.

I use LightFlow also, but I have the blink rate set to Always On. According to the developer, this saves battery because code has to run every time it blinks. Not sure if this applies to the Galaxy Nexus.

Choose LED Color for messaging and missed calls?

I have noticed for different reminders, our galaxy s3 has a lot more colors included in this LED. Was wondering if there is any app I could use to control these specific colors yet? I've tried blink, sms popup, and LED control and the colors you have to pick from are not matching with what colors the phone flashes. Just didn't know if there was anything out there yet for us to control that
I noticed this too. It's funny once I noticed it was purple lol. But it would be cool to find a app or maybe it come in a ROM or something. But I doubt anything is like that now. Just have to stay patient and let the devs know about it and hope we can see it in the near future.
Lightflow.... It is almost ready for GS3 the development of it is occurring as we speak.

So if I'm not mistaken this app isn't ready yet for the gs3 right? Last time I used it the colors were off. You would choose red and get white or choose green and get red.

Yes, They are having some issues right now. Maybe the next update it will be fixed. Last time it was updated was July 17th.
Hey guys, good news. I found a free app called light manager. Its in the market/play store. It will let you modify the led color and flash rate. And it actually picks up the correct colors too. Check it out, it was just updated today 07/31/2012.

I am running stock. This has all different colors. It also will produce random white/blue LEDs without any notification in the notification bar.
Another option would be to root, and go with the CM10 preview build (it's very stable at this point, good enough for a daily). You can apply LED colors/blink intervals to just about anything with it. No other apps or hacking required. :good:
Doesn't look like Light Manager or Light Flow works yet.
Could be differences between models

I've tried both as well, I'm on a Telus SIII (I747M) and not having any luck with any of the suggested apps, but I have heard of people getting it to work. So at this point, it could be possible its a difference in the devices and control of them. I'm glad someone is looking into this because I used to have a BlackBerry and I loved the ability to customize the LED completely down to what colour light flashes when a certain contact texts or calls. It was so customizable, this is the first Android device I've had that has an LED, so hopefully we will be able to take control of it! :good:
Works on S III
Works great on my Galaxy SIII (rooted, Sprint version) !
I'll vouch for Light Flow, but its a little buggy. my green light stays on when i have signal (even when turned off)
Light flow just got updated today and fixed the green light always on with a lot of other app fixes.
Lightflow is cool. But all assigned colors do not work... Yet....

Notification led fix ever possible?

Do you guys think a fix for the Led color issues will be possible? Is there any way to tell if it's a hardware issue? I'm wondering if it would be worth it to return the phone. I bought it in early July... Am wondering if it's been fixed in newer ones
I've owned the International GS3 & the AT&T version. It'd ridiculous that this issue hasn't been addressed yet. I've receive about 4 update on my Int. GS3 & it has yet to be corrected
What's the problem with yours?

Ya, what's the issue with the LED?
I know on mine google voice makes it light up solid purple, which most likely isn't the correct intention.

LED not working properly is a known issue and from what I've read, it's software related which means a fix will happen (possibly even with JB release).

Ya, the colors are off. I have an app that can change the color for whatever I want and it doens't work well. Red and Blue are great, but thats about it. YOu can see it trying to change but the color mix is way off.

Hmm, mine is blue for text messages, purple for facebook notifications and red for google talk. I don't have a problem with those colours.
I have a constant green light that appears when I use that app. And no, it's not charging.
I flashed ktoonsez's KT747 kernel and my LEDs work well now. I can even configure colors if the apps allow it.

Thanks. Tried this kernel - it fixed the main colors (RGB), but Pink, Orange, and etc are still ugly. They look like a unmixed paint of different colors.

Odd, I have the same kernel installed (the stock one though, I dunno what version you have), and my notification LEDs are screwy too... Except for the red charging, blue Gmail (which I can't seem to change) and Green fully charged... Which work perfectly. So yeah, probably a software issue.

Dev has found a fix for that but only for rooted GS3
8 August 2012 - fix for GT-I9300 settings in root mode. Updated translations files for new languages added. Testing on non S3 phones. Added support for another 24 apps. Started to prepare build for next release to play store (this usually takes about 1-2 days depending on if any issues are identified in the "lite" version of the app as development is all done on the full version)

Light Flow now supports Android Wear Notifications

With last update Light Flow added support for sending vibrations in wear device, easy to configure for any kind of notifications and you can set different vibration paths, without double notifications other apps I tried give. Highly recommended!
Which version, the paid one?

Hi!
I know this thread is old but I have a question for you : You seem to say that you don't get the double notification on the wear with this app. i'ts not working for me. I have the paid version, I have set everything but I still get the original vibration of the watch right after the one from light flow.
For exemple, I set light flow the send 2 long vibrations on my watch when I received a text message. It works, but I also received the original short vibration.
Did I missed something?
I Have the moto 360 and the Galaxy S5.
Thanks! And sorry if my English is bad. This is not my first language.
No vibration on wear
I get the same problem. Light flow just doesn't do anything on wear
Does light flow allows the display of the watch does not turn on when you receive a notification ? I would only vibration. (sorry for my english)
I have the huawei watch and light flow legacy on my LG G4.
I can choose my own vibration for each app. Usualy, when the phone is on mute, the watch does not vibrate. With light flow, it's now possible, just uncheck the "don't vibrate in silent mode".
There is no double notification, the default one gone.
Hope it's the same for the moto 360 watch.

Disable charging LED?

Hi All,
I was wondering whether anyone know of a way to disable the charging LED, specially the solid Green that comes on when the battery is full?
I am thinking some modification in /sys/class/leds might do it but not sure which is it.
I find that solid green indicator too bright and distracting when kept charging at bedside at night.
Hey, did you ever found a solution for these.. man that led gets bright at night!!!
GravityBox Xposed module
I think the charging LED is dumb, especially when it precludes notifications.
I mean, really, who watches the charging LED?
"Okay, watch this light and when it changes, unplug it!" ???
"Oh, nope, can't unplug the phone yet, the LED says not to!" ???

Nuts...you're not. It only disables the orange charging indicator, not the green charged indicator.
If it were red, I'd think Locutus of Borg was looking at me every time I looked at the screen.
A custom ROM might be our only hope...

Did you try the "Disable Charging Led" module? Its a standalone module and not part of Gravitybox. If I remember correctly, it had an option for charged led as well. But I haven't used it for a few months so not sure if I remember correctly or if it still works with HTC10.

Although it isn't disabling the charging LED, you can edit a boolean in /system/customize/ACC/default.xml to allow the green LED notification light to blink while charging.
