Good day.
I was trying to restore my phone back to its original LG OS. Getting rid of the unsuccessful root. But I can't go to USB mode whenever I connect it to the USB. I can see the download mode if I press the vol up. But after that, the screen just turns black. I'm sure the PC is not the problem since my PC has a voice command whenever a device was putted or pulled out.
I am following this guide and I'm doing great with it. But my phone won't get recognize by my laptop (HP/Windows 8.0)

I hope you can all help me so that I can use my phone again. Thank you

So the issue i'm having is when put my battery in or plug the phone into any power source it boots up and stops at the lg splash screen. I have tried going into recovery mode via power + vol down key combination and it dose not allow it in it just stays on lg screen. the other issue is when i plug it into my computer i get a notification saying that the usb device is not recognized i have tried putting it to usb mode via power + vol up key but still no dice. This happened after flashing cyanogen 7 to my phone it worked fine for a few days then i turned it off one night as to not be bothered with calls. the next morning it started this problem. i have browsed the forums looking for a solution none of which seem to have worked. any insight into this would be nice
notes:
-can not get into recovery mode / cwm
-can not put to usb mode
-for the issue with it not being recognized by the computer i have tried 3 different cables on win 8,7 and vista and on both my laptop and desktop using different usb ports. going to try xp tonight
-exact device model = P925g Optimus 3d with Rogers canada.
-to the forum admin pleas feel free to move this thread into the right section if i posted in the wrong one
Turn the phone off
Hold down the volume down key and then plug in the USB cable. See if you get something.
this forum is for the optimus g. not sure if that is what u have.
So i discovered a strange thing from my G3 while trying to upgrade to 10E. My phone is unable to enter download mode to flash the update. I have done the procedure a in the flashing thread:
-turn off phone
-unplug USB
-hold down volume up
-plug USB
i can head windows play the device connected sound then proceed with the phone just displaying the normal charging display.
also, adb reboot download does not work, adb reboot recovery does.

I had same issue, just make sure that you plug in the USB cable fast after you hold the volume up and also make sure you continue to hold the volume up.
Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
I tried a thousand times but every time it just start up mobile phone instead of going to Download Mode.
Remove the battery for a few seconds and be sure to plug into usb 2 and not into usb 3 port on your pc
I tried that too. Removed battery for seconds and connected to USB 2.0 but same issue. I wonder it connects to PC and LG Pc Suite without any problems. I'm sure all rivers are already installed but wonder why it can't enter download mode.
I lost LG original USB cable and use other cables ( I tried many ).
What's wrong then?!!! I even tried Windows XP and 8.1 but both same issue!
I'm having the same issue only I think it's because I really bricked my phone, not able to boot up or anything.
My gives me an error saying fast boot and a couple of commands with a black screen, Unable to get to download mode
i have facing this issue since when i unroot my g3 d855 then i forget to close the lg flash tool and accidently i plugged my phone to computer then it went to firmware upgrade mode then i unplugged immediately.Since then my phone stuck in security boot error and i cant go to download mode and the recovery(power+volume down) is also not working, plz help plz..

FIRST install the DRIVER from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
See in the part 2015 with TOT files...
(if any other drivers are present, uninstall them and do a clean install)
You need to get in Download mode to be able to fix it without having to open the phone.
1. Unplug phone from pc and power off
2. Remove back cover and remove the battery
3. Plug the micro-usb cable into the phone
4. Press and HOLD the VOLUME DOWN (make sure you press it from the edge, far from the powerbutton)
5. Put the battery - Dont let go of Volume Down yet.
6. Connect the micro-usb cable to the pc - Dont let go of volume down yet
7. Wait for the pc to recognize it, and the download mode appears on the phone, now you can let go of volume down
Repeat again, first time might not work.
Post results here...
PS, quote me because i might not see and answer then. good luck
edit: Can't change title, it's actually download mode I cannot get into.
So I need to bring my phone to stock. Not for the first time.
However now when I try to get into download mode (Take out batt, hold vol up and plug phone into pc) nothing happens except a triangle with ! in it.
If I try to do it but keep the battery in, it goes to download mode. I can assign port etc, but when I run LGFlashtool it does not see the phone at all.
This happens with any rom it has installed on it.
Any ideas guys?

When you connect your device to your computer with the triangle on the screen, what does Windows device manager see the phone as? Does it say Qualcomm or LG USB? You may have to run the LG diagnostic tool to repair phone?
Hello everyone,
so here's my problem:
Wednesday morning i took my phone out of my pocket and had a blackscreen. I tried to restart it and took out the batterie but i always got stuck in the LG Logo or a bootloop. Since i had TWRP and lineage OS installed, i tried to go into the twrp menu with the factory mode (power button + volume down) but after the "double yes" i always got a blackscreen.
So i went into the internet to fix it myself. I tried the "LG Flash Tool 2014" with the kdz. reset & the other Flash tool with the tot. reset. Both didnt recognize my phone. At this point, the only thing that worked was the download mode BUT not the recovery mode that usually comes after it. It just showed the download mode for some seconds and then a black screen. Later i noticed that my phone showed as a "qualcomm device" in the device manager, and the internet said that this was bad. So i used "Board diag" and "Smart boot diag" to fix it, but at the point where the device should have restarted, and the download mode should have worked WITH the recovery mode, i always ONLY had the 6 second download mode. After messing a bit with "Board Diag" i even got it to show up as LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port in the device manager, which apparently was even more bad and only way to go back to qualcomm was to shorten the pins which i did. And it worked BUT now i was back with the qualcomm stuff.
So as you can see, i've prety much run i circles since wednesday... Iam now at a point where 3 different thingscan happen when I try to put my LG into download mode (volume up + usb cable):
1. Its recognized as a unknown device which is constantly connecting and diconnecting, so iam assuming my phone is bootlooping with a black screen.
2. The download mode icon shows on my phone and disappears after some seconds but my pc fails to recognize it.
3. Nothing happens and the screen stays black
When i only connect the usb cable, it shows a stuck charging icon for some seconds and then goes black. Connecting without a battery shows the "missing battery icon". I tried with 2 pc's, both having the LG mobile driver 4.2 and the qualcomm driver installed AND beeing in testmode. Both don't recognize the device. I also tried 2 batteries on my phone but it changes nothing.
I have a D855. And i know that my situation is pretty f*cked but maybe someone i able to help me anyway. Thanks alot.
