"Circle" case - LG G6 Accessories

It is getting to be time to replace my Lg G4. It has a "circle" case with a window you can see part of the screen through. Do they make the same for the G6?
Thanks.

Nillkin makes pleather folio cases with windows. Saw them on eBay
Sent from my LG-H870DS using Tapatalk

Thanks,
Now the real question? Does the phone support the window? The G4 has special utilities that show the time, play music, turn on the flashlight, etc. directly though the window.

Correction: they're square windows, but "Smart", which I take to mean that they have some, if not all the functions you mentioned. Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/152510327873

Thanks again,
I googled Nillkin and found they have an APP with what seems to be the same functionality as the G4. I also found them on Amazon $3 USD cheaper, with prime.

I got the case, but never found the APP again, the G6 has most of the functionality that the G4 had.

I remember the G4 had a special pin in the back, near the battery slot, once you removed the back cover. I assume it was used by the phone to detect the circle case.

I mean, if it's so, keep in mind that G6 has no removable back cover

Wrong! It's detected by a magnetic sensor and that way all kind of cases can use the "circle" of the G4. I've tried with a magnet on the screen and there's a spot that activates the quickcircle.

I've looked high and low, and I've found nothing in the G6 that uses the Quick Circle interface - I'm as much of a fan of it as you are.
The closest they have is an interface that displays basic info in a square opening in the case, activated with a similar magnet sensor. It's not interactive - you can't turn off an alarm, or select whether or not to pick up a call - you still need to open the case. You can't even activate the display to check the time with a double-tap - you need to hit the power button. That I've found, that is. But it's better than the proverbial nothing.
Unlike the Quick Circle case for the Stylo and G4, the opening on the cover does not expose the camera, just the power button. There's other cases that expose the power button and the camera, but they aren't interactive, and only barely display the data from the always on option.
I ADORE the Quick Circle interface, and was really disappointed that it seems to have been discontinued. If anyone hears about an add-on app that mimics it, I'd love to hear about it.
Here's an entry for the case on ebay - I expect there's plenty of others that do the same.

You're right, there's a magnetic spot that triggers the display!!
Anyway, on my phone (an H870 with Oreo), it triggers the AOD, not the circle apps.
On youtube there are also some reviews of "circle" cases, which are actually transparent cases that show the AOD.
Uhm... good news, I didn't know that

I tried this case. Returned it. Poor key quality construction - bad feel and layout. The space bar actually sits lower than the metal case edge, making the space bar practically unusable as your thumb constantly hits the case instead of the bar. Although the design is interesting, the case does not hold the Tab in place when closed. I was excited about this when I first saw it, but it's really not a good case.

I have the keyboard now (It arrived much sooner than anticipated).
I'd like to use it for a while so my opinion about it is well formed.
I had low expectations (due to previous comments posted), but I can say it's much better (construction/quality wise) than previously thought.
I used an Apple wireless keyboard ( till I damaged some keys - too much detergent/water in cleaning it) so that will form the baseline for comparison.
I'll post an update soon.
update:
The typing experience is not good. As previously stated....

That about sums it up... and I agree 100%.
It looks really good and exciting when first seen.
The experience of using it however, is really poor......
The spacebar is simply not accessible due to the way the thumb gets obstructed by the raised edge.
It's as thought no one tested the keyboard after the first prototype was produced.
or they expected it to be used with a few fingers only.... without resting one's palms.
You'll get tired easily with this, even if you manage to adapt to using it.

[Q] Slide out keyboard & integrated case

I have a few of my users (yes IT manager here) asking if there is a physical keyboard for the s3 that is integrated with a case. They want the equivalent of this:
http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-thin-Sliding-Bluetooth-Keyboard-iPhone/dp/B0054KMWF2/ref=sr_1_3
They all know that any bluetooth or keyboard can work with it, they just wanted an integrated version as they prefer a bulkier s3 vs separate items.
I've looked around a bit and couldn't find anything, does anyone know where I might be able to find one? Or perhaps know a company that is making one now?
Thanks!
There are none :/

I've often wanted something like this when I need to answer a bunch of emails when I'm out and about. There are a bunch for iphones, but I've yet to see one to fit an Android device. It seems like if any phone would get one, the GSIII might. I've also wondered why nobody can seem to make the slider keyboard with an interchangeable TPU case to fit different models.

On eBay I came across this,
it's not really fit like the slider you mentioned though.
You know why you can't find one?
because it would make the camera useless, and severely diminish the speaker.
no-one has made a small enough keyboard to not cover them. the closest anyone has gotten is that computer generated render, in the previous posts that is not for sale.
it WILL happen.. just wait.

maybe someone needs to make a Gameklip-style thing, but for holding these micro-bluetooth keyboards (patent pending )
What would seem more practical and allow use of everything is the keyboard folding down. When it is closed laying against the screen with a flap or something separating keyboard and screen. You works have a full keyboard and since Bluetooth the keyboard could be used with other phone with the same case. Any case makers watching here... do it live. I've thought about it for over a year. I also have a good idea for amplifying phone speakers with battery any bulk. It works to made myself one.

Like these?... http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trk...kw=galaxy+s3+keyboard+case&_sacat=0&_from=R40
The only concern I'd have about these is that they seem to just have a "soft" hinge (ie. just the material), so it probably wouldn't support itself. Something like this would be great though if it was a hard case (think Nintendo DS), as it would protect the screen when closed.

Not a good answer, but you can get a simple OnTheGo USB cable, and plug any USB keyboard in. Handy if you are going to do a lot of work on the phone. Not that you would carry a USB keyboard around.
FYI ele-boat says it'll be available for purchase November 10th.

I have that case on mine, I'm not a fan. It doesn't cover the bottom or top and it's pretty hard to get to the volume and power buttons since they are blocked from the top edge. I'd recommend something else. I just bought a metal "bumper" case that goes around the whole rim and has rubber button extensions that stick out of the frame from ebay. (there are versions with no rubber thingies which would pose the same problem - hard to get to the buttons, so I'd avoid those too)
(I couldn't quote the link since I'm not at 10 posts yet)

I have this case and it's amazing... it's incredibly slim so it doesn't add much weight and bulk. The texturized back adds a nice grip and the front of the case comes up just enough to raise the glass off of surfaces when the phone is face down.

Not really strange. The NFC chip in the case triggers Sense6 in the phone to activate the Dot View mode that's built into Sense6. Other cases without the specific NFC chip would not trigger that mode in the phone.
And to view the effect toast an NFC chip with the dot case details and voila

Interesting, at first I figured there was no way they'd bring the case to the M7, since it's a pretty strong selling point for the M8. At $50, I'd probably wait to find a good deal on eBay, but I definitely want it.
Can anyone tell me how exactly it uses NFC? I thought the NFC on the M8 was the same place as the M7 - near the camera. I was told that's why there's a little plastic line between the camera lens and the plastic strip because NFC can't penetrate the metal shell very well. That's where my NFC triggers best, anyway.
So if the case goes around the phone, it could use NFC to tell the phone that the case is on, but there's no way of using NFC to know when the case is open or closed. Surely that has to be magnetic. Also, my experience is that if you have an NFC tag permanently against the phone, it prevents it from using the NFC for anything else - so using the case would knock out your NFC.
Dot View would be awesome if HTC had used an AMOLED screen, but it seems to just be a battery-hog on an LCD. The entire LCD must be "on" and using battery, even if 90% of the pixels are black so I would never dream of having my screen lit up whilst the case is closed. If it was AMOLED then we could have some nice MotoX style notifications, including a much more battery-friendly dot view.

I find it weird that it uses NFC. In my M7 if I put a nfc sticker over the screen, I can read it, so it can be possible, but if you open the case entirely, the NFC chip will get detected and turn the screen off, thinking the case is closed.
I think it's a magnet or something else than NFC
Maybe NFC is only for detecting the case. Not for the fuktion open/close. It's possible when the phone now (per nfc) that the case is on the phone that it works with the sensors. Like poket detection in some kernels.

This. It uses NFC only for detecting that you have the dots view case.
So when you don't have the case on, it does not bring up the dots view for nothing.

oh as a side note... I'm running ARHD 61.1 and when the phone is locked and i quickly go to the running services, i can see that DotMatrix service is running..
so ok this is a port from the M8, but it does get triggered when the screen is locked... just wonder what else needs to further activate the other functions in the service (probably NFC and I HOPE Proximity Sensor)
Even of you use a regular flip case dot view will be working but dot view will not launch beacuse digitizer will not be able to register touch inputs remember you need to double tap to activate dot view 3rd party manufacturers can easily make a dot view case nfc is not used there
Dot view can be ported to m7 all you need to do is use proximity sensor as magnetic switch but main problem is there is no dot view case that fits our device
Interesting that the Dots View app is compatible with my M7
