Can someone please help me with enabling VOLTE on my OP3 running akhil narang's latest RR build. It stays on LTE and calls through Jio don't connect. I have enhanced LTE enabled and also tried editing build prop. please help.
Flash oos or open beta first. Boot up completely. U will have volte enabled. Then flash the custom ROM ..
There is an issue with custom roms .. none of them can initialise IMS properly and registration fails. However if you flash the stock oos or open beta first, the IMS registration works. And I suppose, it just sticks when you boot the next time with a custom rom.
Don't ask me the reason. It just works for me this way everytime without a fail.

Will it also work after a clean flash? Because if it does then it can be solved via some other method too

Yeah you need to clean flash. Both. First clean flash oos/ob. Then clean flash custom ROM.
My theory is that it has to do with the firmware. So if you stay on the same firmware when moving from oos/ob to custom ROM, then volte should work fine. If you flash a different firmware then the custom ROM will not be able to initiate and complete the IMS registeration ... But as I said just a theory
Why dont you just try flashing the latest firmware which is recommended for your ROM..??

I've the same problem and I am having airtel volte. It doesn't work on any custom rom but as I move on OOS is just works fine. I am currently on Oxygen OS beta 27. I'll try your method . what all the things I have to wipe before flashing custom ROM ? And also should I flash again the firmware?
thanks!

First check if Airtel volte is supported by the custom ROM.
If yes then try wiping system, data and cache.
No need to flash firmware

Custom roms dont really support carriers persay. Most roms dont support VOLTE, at least not the India based carriers. Best bet would be look for one that supports VOLTE on T-mobile and see if you can work with the dev. Other then that you will be hard pressed to find one that work with India VOLTE. Its just not something that is tested or cared about by most developers.
I think it's firmware related. So flash the latest Indian firmware. Also Try roms developed by Indian devs. They will try to support all carriers in India.

That will be a problem as most of the devs on different teams are not from India nor are they willing to add closed sourced code just to get something working that only one country uses.

No it wont. it's just like flashing custom rom on twrp.
I don't know why but when I run this new version lollipop I get all these security warnings that asked me to reboot to stop certain unauthorized activity. Regardless, the kernel you provide the link for is real nice. You can set SELinux=permissive with it which is needed to run certain apps. Anyways, I went back to the original lollipop release and also flashed the same kernel and its running beautifully...
EDIT: You know, if the same activity is taking place on two roms and on one rom you get a security warning and on the second rom you do not, which rom are you better off with? Guess it depends...
Might just be my OCD talking, but is anybody else noticing that the battery icon is smaller than the WiFi and Signal bars?!
I'm hoping Samsung resizes them correctly when they ship Lollipop for the Note 3 :/
WiFi issues
Just like the other Lollipop ROMs, I can't get Wi-Fi to get an IP address so that I can connect.
I tried another clean flash and manually setting an IP address, but it hasn't worked for me.
The rest of this ROM seems perfect though

This is working perfectly for me. Much better than the buggy cm12
This Lollipop ROM installed flawlessly with no problems and everything working that I needed for a DD. Simple instructions, no muss, no fuss. Well done!
Did either of you have to flash an actual Wi-Fi fix to get it working? I thought was was already placed in this ROM.

Yes. I flashed Filchi's Wi-Fi Fix just to be sure. I did it right after flashing the ROM, before restarting, and it booted flawlessly, fully functional. Also, all of the 300+ applications also restored without any issues. This is the most trouble free Lollipop ROM I've seen. I need to have my Gear S watch working perfectly for my work, and other ROMS had bluetooth issues. The Filchi fix addressed both the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth problems.

I had no experienced with other rom, i had issue with 3g too before at cm12.1 r4, but i took advise from adewisman to tried clean install first at cm12.1 r3 which meant to wipe cache, dalvik, data and system too. After clean install done and boot up see if 3g fixed or not.
If its still persist, flash the firmware zip, and wipe cache, fix permission, but leave the selinux unmarked. Reboot to system few time to see if it worked, and i got mine worked, currently at r5 now.

What was the last stock rom you tried? You must enable volte on stock rom and then flash custom rom else volte won't work (personal experience)
If you have twrp backup of stock then restore it, enable volte in settings and when you get volte sign (HD next to signal) goto twrp and wipe everything and flash custom rom

I'm also sorry that I can't really help you since I do not have VOLTE in my Country.
Everything I know is what you said you have done already.
aka Flash Stock ZUI, enable Volte (try if its working), shutdown the device and flash a Custom ROM you like.
You could try to get your SIM in Slot 1 (if it isn't already) and then redo the process.
Also using QFIl to flash the latest Stock ZUI Version (I suggest you to use the Indian Version, this will lock your bootloader again)
And then redo the whole process.
Just change the sim slot. You are probably using it in Slot 2.

I am using it in sim1 slot only.
The problem started all of a sudden. I was using the AICP rom, then there was an OTA update from their end so i updated it ,but after that volte doesnot work. Then i changed many ROM's but nowhere volte works except the stock one(which is very ****ty).
Did anyone find a fix for this problem?
My solutions
1. Install nougat update from lenovo i.e 2.5
2. Then enable volte in sim settings
3. Then unlock the bootloader again
4. Install the twrp
5. Install AEX(my suggestion)
6. Install micro gapps
7. Then reboot and please let every process complete dont skip anything let the phone detect the Networks
8. Saying it once again dont skip or hurry while booting let it complete and then click next
9. After booting enable volte in sim settings enhanced 4g lte mode
10. If it doesn't work for you then try the vpn settings which i have attached as a screenshot with this post
There you go.

Same here. AEX messed it up, only solution is go flash stock Rom and then re-install whatever Rom you want.
Hay guys solution 100% working for zuk z2 plus Indian version
Switch off your phone
Remove sim slot
Put jio sim on slot 2 and other sim on slot 1
Switch on your phone
Disable volte from settings
Make a call from sim 1
Switch off mobile again
Remove sim slot put jio sim in slot 1
Switch on ur phone
Switch volte on
That's it

VoLTE is a PIA for developer's. not just because the code is proprietary (meaning no access to the source code).
the Dev's so far have not focused to fix VoLTE for Oreo hence the issues. they focus on other major more important fixes first.
Oreo is a major re-write to C++ compared to Nougat.
VoLTE on 14.1 is stable because the Dev's have figured out a proper way to make it work. Which is not yet the case with Oreo. so if you want stable VoLTE stick with Official LOS 14.1.

How to flash stock modem .
I am on AEX.
---------- Post added at 07:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:46 AM ----------
I think AOSP roms have volte problems.
When I am on AOKP os volte working fine..
Yesterday I flashed AEX which is based on AOSP.
Volte gone.
One way to get back the volte is by changing the sim card from 1 to 2 or vice versa. This will get you volte. And then if you want to change the sim cards back to original then do so. The volte will stick.
Other one is, flash the stock ROM modem or an LOS modem. It worked for me with stock and RR modem.

How to flash modem. Can u please explain
Flash the modem backup file using TWRP.
HUGE thanks to @giri45 for actually providing the fix!
What's this?
A Unity installer ensures that you can use this module with any kind of root solution (as long as it supports init.d)! If you have Magisk, flash the module through the Magisk Manager, but if you don't have Magisk, just flash the module through TWRP. When you want to uninstall the module, flash it again in Magisk Manager or TWRP.
As for the module itself, it provides a fix for LiveDisplay/Night Light on the Moto G5/G5S for anyone running an AOSP-based ROM running Android 9 or higher, and enables Camera2 API + EIS if you wish so.
Do NOT attempt to install this on other devices, or ROMs based on Android <9! Device and Android version checks have been applied to make sure this module will not install on incompatible devices. This module assumes that you are using the latest stock Oreo firmware (including bootloader, GPT and etc.)! Do not report issues if you are not on the latest firmware.
Tested ROMs:
Havoc OS 2.2
Pixel Experience 9.0
AOSPExtended 6.3
crDroid 5.0
Known issues:
Fix doesn't work on Nougat firmware. You must have fully flashed the stock ROM/flashed it via OTA, for this fix to work.
Downloads:
Download from Magisk Repo.
Flash via Magisk Manager or TWRP. Make sure you have a root solution which supports init.d!
Thanx for trying to fix this. Unfortunately it's not working on my xt1794 running AospExtented. First try flashing through twrp failed, the updaterscript didn't recognize my phone (correctly), then installing as magisk module, but no night light..

That's really weird. Installs fine and works on PE, installs fine but doesn't work on ViperOS, and now doesn't work on AOSPExtended.
Could you try providing installation logs located in the Internal storage?
Have you also tried manually replacing the files? If that works, then it's not a problem with the ROM...

It's an internal build. You can test it out here: https://t.me/montanadevelopment

Are you on the Oreo firmware? GPT and bootloader included. Did you do a screen repair before?

Nougat firmware and Oreo baseband, screen is original. Do you think that partition table is the problem?

Okay, I think I have found the problem now. What have you not upgraded?

As I said, I upgraded the baseband, the rest is firmware from nougat. On another device I'm running lollipop firmware and no problems regarding night light on pie ROMs..
Edit: I see you updated op, will report back once I fully upgraded firmware (for now I want to be able to revert back to nougat). Thanx for your efforts

Thanks. I updated the OP a while ago, but I do want to figure out the root cause of the problem, whether it is the vendor image, bootloader, GPT, or something else.

I'm planning on upgrading everything except bootloader and gpt.bin, then I'll try your fix again and report back:good:
Edit: OK, done. I did flash bootloader, did not erase userdata and did not flash stock recovery. Good news is: system feels alot snappier - not so good news is that fix is still not working for me..
For anyone with similar issue: use cf.lumen instead and don't forget to thank the dev

That's weird... One thing I know that is that this fix doesn't work on Nougat firmware.
Working flawlessly on crDroid 9.
Thank you devs!
I have installed the mod with magisk and not working on my device with Pixel Experience 9.0

Hehe, same like me , if you didn't updated officially than this fix won't work on any PIE ROM

Did you flash everything? Try fully flashing Stock Oreo via Fastboot and then install TWRP, custom ROM and this fix.
