How to post
Reports without logs or step to reproduce are useless (read contribute).
Substratum is officially not supported into Lineage.
You are welcome to post your review: what is working, not working, etc... Check into know issues before.
You are welcome to report any typo, error, etc...
Try to keep thread clean as a dev reference. Thanks in advance.
How to report problems
How to get logs
Here you have some info about how collecting log. It is always better to include reference to the Installed version. This guide is really detailed and explained everything about bug reports. How to contribute
Code is like hieroglyphs for me:
No worries you can contribute anyway! Install the rom, do tests, read failure logs, look at internet for potential fix/similar users experience, is the biggest part of debugging. Then collect all of this and write your results here.
Code is like hieroglyphs for me and logs are worst:
No problem, collects logs the right way if you can, explain how you encounter the problem: detailed step to reproduce could be enough: explain exactly how you encounter the error/problem, it should produce each time someone repeat your steps. Then we will be able to fix it.

Thanks for all your work, a years ago it was totally impossible tout imagine such a stable rom so thanks for all the team.
Will you add stock camera app to this rom ?
It may be a silly question but since Lineage OS add hardware fonctionnality that are device-specific, do you and LOS consider sony stock camera fonctionnality (and by extension app) as hardware fonctionnality that are sony-devices-specific ?
PS: sorry if there is any typo or mistakes, my french corrector just f*ck-up all my other-language-writed text x)
PPS: thanks to xda labs, that the fifth time I try to upload this message, I hope that you can read it entirely
PPPS: I gived-up with XDA Labs, This is send with my computer

It's not about porting ^^
In every LOS rom, there is some system apps that are device-specific (I think of the off-screen gesture in OnePlus device)
For our device I think about our DRM. It add a lot of optimization for image processing.
So I just ask the devs if they consider DRM and other image processing as equivalent thing to off-screen gesture

DON'T FORGET TO WIPE DALVIK/CACHE
Is there a way to disable the orange theme for battery saving mode ? And completely disabling the rotation for the magnet charger?
Otherwise this ROM is super nice! Thanks for your great work!
Thanks for the update! Unfortunately, calls over BT are still not working on my end. (Build. 20170701 - D6603 - Sony SBH20)
This time I didn't pair my smartwatch just to see if that was the issue, doesn't seem like it.
Here's the full logcat and dmesg.
Logcat (Over 512kb so I had to upload it elsewhere)
Hopefully this info will help you guys out.
Cheers!

LineageOS feature. You should be able to change the amount into settings.
On internet you probably can find some way to put that amount to 0.
There is any possibilities to upgrade this kernel (through modifications) into 3.10 or 3.18 keeping camera blobs? @xkeita @nailyk
Ahh .. paused charging is back . It's not bad stuff anyway , just in my country where is hot throughout the year is a lil bit annoying when ur battery low and u can't charge the phone because it's hot .

+1 for this. The device enters Desk Dock mode when a magnetic charger is used, which is really annoying, as it also interrupts Car Dock mode.
@nailyk: What about the Disable Desk Dock sources that I pointed you to?
I noticed a small amount of lag in the camera of the new build (lineage-14.1-20170701-xkeita-z3dual). Previously, I used the version (lineage-14.1-20170629-nailyk-z3dual). Nothing that harms me much. I just came to ask if the other members had the same problem, so I could know how to act.

Thank you @PecanCM.
You are really fast. :highfive::highfive:
Yay! FINALLY! We love you Ron
Review: Processing...
Awesome @PecanCM!
Thanks for bringing AOSP Nougat 7.0 to xm!
Smooth and functional for an alpha release!
Thank you!! Gonna test it now!
Thanks for new taste of Android!
Tips:
- Launching persistent TWRP not supported. Only built-in 2.8
So if you have adopted sdcard you can't restore backup.
To fix flash CM13 kernel.
- OpenGapps for 7.0 here
- Feature spotlights here
- File manager in Settings > Storage finally can install APK's, useful for first boot.
- To use 2 apps at same time hold and drag thumbnail in Recents
- Double-tap on Recents works like Alt+Tab (like long press in CM)
- In dev options new option to force move all apps on adopted storage

FOTA TWRP (recent, most likely 3.0 only) is known & fixed,
logo loops on and on, nothing opening right?
Thanks for confirming.
Thanks a lot, Ron!

Just noticed old TWRP and therefore possible problem.

can you please share cm13 kernel?
Look likes our XM always infront of the other ..
Tried!
Everything's working fine, except:
1. Camera not working.
2. No live wallpapers.
3. Music app crashing every time.
Does anyone have success flashing GApps? On Opengapps wiki is stated that it needs additional ROM patching to disable APK Signature Scheme V2.
---------- Post added at 22:47 ---------- Previous post was at 22:44 ----------
BTW, if FOTA recovery is not working, I can repack the boot image with the latest TWRP 3.0.2-1.

Yes, like all ROMs for our device (and maybe for our entire SoC family).
Can any user test WiFi hopspot for me. And also if pokemon go will work without bugs (sorry I have no time to DL and test myself ATM)
So here are results of my brief testing:
- It booted VERY FAST as there is no ART cache compilation after every update, cache is generated on-the-fly combining JIT and AOT compilation. BTW, not only first boot was fast but the latter ones too, much faster than CM13.
- First boot with Opengapps Pico for 08.26 led to Setup Master's FCs at some moments, yet after some painful experience I've succeed adding Google account and even restoring my apps and settings, which was quite surprising (I was amazed when noticed my ringtone being restored to that from CM13).
- 3G is not working, at least for me. Only EDGE.
- Getting root with the current version of SuperSU appears to be impossible, at least for our device.
- Phone seems to be less responsive, but maybe that's just me, because I regularly use it overclocked to 1.4 GHz.
- TWRP 2.8.0.0 and not working FOTA recovery, seriously? I was forced to repack boot image with the TWRP 3 (just quickly grabbed that from NUI as I'm lazy to repack recovery ramdisk for using in boot image). Some report it working but for me it always booted to the built-in TWRP, both by Vol- and Vol+. BTW, I can upload repacked boot image tomorrow (it is on my personal laptop, I'm writing this from my work one).
I would certainly use it as daily driver if there were root and NUI kernel available. It is very stable for such an early alpha (gosh, Ron started working on it a couple days ago as sources were published) and such an old phone (it debuted 3 years ago), we are very lucky to have so custom-friendly hardware and such a talented developers as Ron and guys working on msm8960 board (another reason I think is that there were no any bringing-pain-in-the-ass changes like ART in 4.4/5.0 and adoptable storage in 6.0). Great work, PecanCM!
I'll continue my testing tomorrow and revert to CM13 later until new SuperSU and NUI are released (or maybe forever if I'll buy new device soon).

Hello and thank you for your work. Can you please tell, will you become Z00T maintainer for Lineage OS, or are these builds completely unofficial (I mean without further possibility to go official 15.1 build) and we better stick to AEX 5.X?
Also can you tell, are there any differences between your build and Luke's last one, apart from Fire Kernel?

I doubt it will become official ever first of all. All HAL1 devices are not yet official due to camera issues and will probably won't. Apart from FireKernel difference is that I compiled it using SDCLANG, did some updates for GPS, and other files, Disabled transparent QS and fixed video recording partially by importing commits from xperia devices. Nothing more.

Hi @TheImpulson I read on one of the other threads that the video recording bug was completely fixed. AEX if I'm not wrong. I hope I'm not mistaken. If it is fixed, is there a chance of it becoming official?

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9.0 (Pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. Can this ROM be flashed through TWRP?
A. Yes, proceed with the latest TWRP image
Q. Sounds good. How can I contribute to project?
A. Test the build as much as you can and report bugs which can be reproduced with exact steps and are not random.
Q. How to disable "Apps running in background" dialog?
A. When you see the dialog, long press on it and select "Settings". From there, you'll have a toggle to disable it.
Q. Which Models are supported?
A. So far it works well on the H930(G/D/DS), US998, VS996 and LS998. H932 works too, use the .zip for that model. Other devices may bootloop.
Q. Help, my H931/H933 is bootlooping!
A1. For H931 please go to https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/how-to/running-h930-aosp-rom-us998-converted-t3889320
A2. For H933 please go to https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78183349&postcount=2
Q. USB Tethering isnt working!!!!
A. Make sure you have the correct drivers installed.
Try this: open device manager:
find the RNDIS (thats what it was called for me), or some other device similar to that name, with a probably yellow !
right click: uninstall drivers (and tick delete drivers)
restart usb tethering
then you have an "unknown device", right click
install driver
search on pc
select from list
search for LG Electronics as manufacturer
and then on right side select "LGE AndroidNet Remote NDIS Device"
My God, that was fast. It even looks to be usable daily, so long as you don't need an SD card (and keep the phone on).
Goodbye Axon 7; V30, here I come!

(And I hope some more people/devs become interested in this device now.... fixing/trying to fix stuff nearly alone after rashed did the first device bringup.... And im no pro myself either, idk what causes the boot issues )
For exfat why don't try Samsung open source module https://github.com/bkuhn/exfat
Work on LG V20 D.O.T.S custom kernel, realy nice.

Thanks, will try that one. Already had it working once, then took it out again to just check if it was causing issues or not, and then imported it again, and suddenly its causing a weird behaviour
Setupwizard takes ages to load, its checking the sdcard forever, Launcher takes ages to load too, and after a few minutes the system crashes... Same happens with the sdfat driver lol
On stock and TWRP it works fine though (TWRP uses the same driver as i tried btw...).
Nice ! Good job as always
I will flash it next week as i still need my V30 urgently working for now... but anyways thanks in advance
Camera
Literally the 1 thing stopping me from installing this right now is the camera. Gcamera is great but doesn't support 4k video on this device nor does it support laser focus or duel lenses (although the ported version of gcamera have a separate app for each camera). Please can you port the LG Camera over. Also does the QuadDAC work on this?
You made my Monday great ?
Thank you

Yep, not shipped with gapps. From my last stand of knowledge (like years ago lol) its not even allowed to ship gapps with ROMs.
Hi, is fm radio working with this rom?
Hi Markus, Danke for your great work and astonishing results here!
Regarding the camera: I remember some guys where extracting the official LG Cam from the Korean Oreo update a few weeks ago...
Is there any chance we could get the LG camera working on LineageOS ?

tbh, i think i havent tested this yet. I focused more on finding out what the **** causes the bootissues.... (trying to figure that out since easter...)
Thats like searching a needle in a haystack (as the logs dont contain anything helpfull when it happens... and no ramoops either ;-; )

Ehhm... Depends on how much the LG Cam depends of the LG Framework? But i suppose thats a lot, would be really really difficult (involving lots of reverse engineering then probably) and would take ages. Doubt LG wants to make our lives easy lol
So... Just got a report from my tester.
10 consecutive (re)boots without a problem. Will release a version soon with this fixed
Had to disable sdcardfs (ro.sys.sdcardfs=0). Maybe i can find a commit somewhere that fixes whatever LG ****ed up there (I suppose their stock framework/kernel source has a modified version, that doesnt work well with AOSP based ROMs...)
Edit: uploading non-treble build now
Thanks to @phhusson for leading me to the fix

Wow that was quick.
Just tested the new release
Bugs:
- Fingerprint not working with 3d party apps like banking apps (Probably because of SeLinux?)
-Sometimes I got a message of 'Process System is not responding'. Not a big deal tho.
-Casting to a wireless display is not working ( It causes a system UI crash)
-Two camera apps, the lineage os one and the AOSP one.
-FM radio not working
Note: these are the same bugs that I face with gsi ROMs (except for the two cameras and process system)

It's fine as a daily driver as long as you don't use FM radio. I am using it right now, it is very stable and it offers better battery life than project treble GSIs do.
Also I'd like to report that LiveDisplay isn't working for me on the Swift 2 Plus

Is this a different build than the one Nikith90 provided?
Two questions:
1. Is there any simpler and less intrusive ways to get root than Magisk? SuperSU is not an option.
2. When can we foresee a working webview?
Other than that, great work! Very stable and smooth indeed!

1. You can download LineageOS SU manager from https://download.lineageos.org/extras (arm64, LOS16)
2. Hm... Its already provided by Chomium-Based Webweiw included in LOS source code, as i know... Can you provide a little more info?
For 1. Great. Thanks. I wan't sure if the standard add on would work.
For 2. I noticed today after upgrading to this version from CRdroid 8.1 (I did a dirty flash of the OS and GAPPS 9, not noticed any other problems so far) when you get the prompt to connect to a WiFi hotspot which requires you to accept terms (in webview) I only get a blank page. I am using Opera as my browser, but it shouldn't be related.
Other suggestions: Can one have the battery icon as a circle? That, and automatic log on when correct PIN is entered would be nice. I miss those features (and a few others) from CRdroid.

Nope, as @Wyzco say, this rom used stock vendor blobs, but it's working very well so far.

My adaptive brightness was lost last night. No option for it in settings>display. The thing at the end of quick settings slider also does nothing. Otherwise no probs after 1 day.
Also some settings like handwave gesture dont do anything but are probably there as remnants or for future use?
E: Might have something to do with me fiddling with nightlight settings. Will try to see if thats the case when i have the time
Just curious if there is a Ambient Display option in this Rom/build?

Hi, how is the battery life so far? How long does it last when fully charged?
Something like this. Works 24 hours, display 4:47
Thanks man ? Am I the only one who has double battery life on Oreo? Any reasons why it dropped so much in PIE?
I used both Oreo and Pie, but went back to Oreo because of that (for one reason) I hope that this changes one day.
Has all of the random reboots from AOSP pie finally been fixed, or is this still present in this?
Thanks!

That is great. I thought all AOSP based ROM had the problem though. But great to hear it, gonna give it a shot later today as I used to really like the Extended Oreo.
Thanks for your hard work, it is much appreciated.
EDIT: On AOSP Pie with Sony OEM the fingerscanner is always on, meaning if you place your finger on the scanner it will wake up. Even without pressing the power button.
Is it possible to port this feature to this rom?
Thanks in advance.

Ah yes, I did not see your status bar on my screen in the first place. I guess I will give it a shot, thanks! :good:
Are you using Google Pay by any change?
Yes, with magiskhideprops module works perfect
AMAZING!!!
WHAT A COOL ROM!!! Thanks you very much, it is incredibly: fast, clean, good-looking... Much better than Sony's ROM. Still, if I may, there are some things I think it would be great to include/improve:
- Camera app is VERY simple, and does not allow to use specific characteristics of the Xperia XZ1 Compact like slow motion or "wide" photos on front camera.
- Camera button isn't use!! You can't do pictures neither accés to the camera fast. Also, it would be great if you could personalize the button(s) the way you want!
- Sony's ROM have a very useful functionality that allows to change the screen between three modes: realistic, saturated... Please, include that, I can't live without an OLED like (saturated) display XD
- Keep updatiiiiing
Again, thanks you, I wasn't very convinced to install it but now I won't go back
