We need more info, since the OS number has been wiped out (known bug with older versions of TWRP).
Connect the phone to computer, and do fastboot getvar all, and post the results (delete IMEI and serial number before posting).

That RUUs for your versions are somewhat hard to find.
It looks like you can get the Marshmallow RUU (6.15.720.2) for your version here: http://forum.gsmdevelopers.com/showthread.php?t=436
Although I can't confirm the source or the validity of the file. But it will only flash to an s-on device if it's signed. And the chance of a malicious file being properly signed with the proper HTC keys is about zero. So if it flashes, I'd say it's legit and safe.
It was previously posted to XDA here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66189202&postcount=17
But the link has since gone dead. You will however find the link on the last post in the thread, how to flash zip versions RUUs (if you don't know how): https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67198911&postcount=25

thanks
i do exactly what you type
but with the two methods an error message
Device halted due to Large Image update
and in fastboot method it shows
target reported max download size of 1826418688 bytes
I think an Ruu exe will fix it not an update zip file ? What do you think ??
You need to install its firmware first before you can use that ruu zip.
I believe it will be easier for you, use lollipop ruu exe then OTA to the latest.
Get your ruu exe 4.18.720.8 from here http://androidruu.com/?developer=M8
Same thing
Any fix please
https://ibb.co/nzjE65
How can it be same thing when the above RUU 4.18.720.8 is RUU.exe ?
I guess you're not using the above RUU.exe because your first pic show hboot 3.16 but second pic show hboot 3.19 & OS is not 4.18.720.8... how come ?
Not easy to help when advise is not followed.

I advised you to download RUU_M8_UHL_L50_SENSE60_MR_hTC_Asia_India_4.18.720.8_Radio_1.24.21331147A1.09G_20.68.4196.01_F_release_417228_signed.exe
from here - http://androidruu.com/?developer=M8
It's a exe not zip
Your post #1 - your screenshot show you're on 1.xx.720.x firmware
Your post #8 - your screenshot show you're on 3.35.720.1 firmware and it shows you tried to install a RUU zip which is meant for different MID (Model ID) so I believe it is not a x.xx.720.x ... which RUU zip that you tried ?
Can you post your fastboot getvar all (minus serial & imei no.) to make sure you have an Indian variant M8.

Your thinking would be incorrect. Failed RUU install means nothing is changed.

Nobody can possibly answer this question properly, or help you further; since you never provided the information requested by ckpv5 in the previous post. The info may shed light on why you have the current "no SIM" issue; and how to properly proceed:

It doesn't look like there are any nandroid backups floating around for your CID.
However, I believe you would be OK with a nandroid such as this as the version-main is identical to yours.

No problem. Obviously you'll have to go back to the stock recovery which is here.

Thanks again!
I have done the following steps:
1. Flashed the boot.img from the backup through fastboot
2. Entered CWM recovery (5.8.4.0)
3. Wiped data, cache and factory reset
4. Restored backup
But it always give me an error: "Error while restoring /system". All the previous checks and actions go as expected. I tried to redownload the backup and got no luck.
Anyone knows why is giving this error? Perhaps the nandroid backup I have downloaded needs to be restored with the same recovery and version of the original one?
Because you didn't wipe the system partition in recovery.
Under mounts and storage - format cache, data and system
And flash the recovery.img from the nand backup if you have the same problem after the above !

Thanks a lot.
I will try it as soon as I get home.
One question about flashing the recovery. The recovery from the nand backup is the CWM recovery right? I am scared of flashing some offical recovery and then not being able to access the CWM one.
You can safely flash the recovery from the nand. It's the custom one, it's the one which the nand is made with.

Now I have a doubt about the recovery I have to flash. Need I to flash the stock one for this RUU or is it independent? I mean, surrealjam point to a stock recovery for the 3.14.XXX.X version, but I am now on the 3.20.401.1 stock. Do I need to flash a "newer" stock recovery, matching the ROM version?

I believe 3.14 is the latest stock recovery available and will be fine with the 3.20 firmware. Perhaps Mr Hofs may be able to provide further info though.
Here is the 3.20 one

A friend of mine gave someone her phone who probably tried to update it using fastboot and recovery, but did not succeed. Now the phone can't get past the HTC logo. I don't know what exactly he did to the phone so I'm working on very little. Been up since late last night checking how to fix this. I tried flashing a new custom rom with both twrp and cwm using both sideload and otg cable. With TWRP the process just stops abruptly when flashing system, while it completes in cwm and still the phone doesn't boot. I also notice that both recoveries can't mount system, can't mount cache. but can only mount data.
I then read in a thread that if I can't mount I have to flash RUU with fastboot. I have searched RUU with my main version and the closest I got was a sprint version. But after sending in fastboot I get "12 signature verify failed". I searched for this and I was told it's because I don't have the correct version for my device. Below I've attached an image of my bootloader information, please help!

For some reason the version-main is now blank, but it used to be 1.29.651.10. And all I've found for this version are Sprint roms, but the device is not sprint it's international version.

You have a M7...a HTC ONE ?! This is the HTC ONE X forum.you are definitely in the wrong forum !!!
Hello guys, I am on vacations at my cousin's apartment who lives on the other side of the world (Croatia). He has an HTC One X that he doesn't use because he says the battery doesnt last long. I have a few questions that I hope I can get helped with since I will stay here for only 2 more days. I bought an HTC One M7 a year ago as my first Android and learned on my own how to S-OFF, SuperCID and flash ARHD... so I am looking to do the same on his device, but don't have much time to research on my own.
1) His phone says One X UKR on the back (a sticker since he has never used it it seems). Is the hardware different to, say AT&T version? I remember that all HTC One M7 were the same so there was no problem SuperCIDing to 11111111 and flashing any firmware thereafter
2) What is the least demanding ROM I can install so that the battery lasts the longest? The simplest the better as my cousin is 52 years old and cant be bothered learning a difficult OS.
3) Are there any drivers for One X for Windows 8.1? I have a Surface Pro tablet, nothing else.
4) What are the HBTOOT requirements for S-OFF?
Thanks.
If it is an international one x then you can't achieve s-off without sending it to a specialist shop which are very rare.
You can unlock the bootloader at htcdev website and install any Rom you like without s-off but you will need to flash the boot.img from a pc using fastboot commands
If you boot into the bootloader by holding volume down & power it should tell you at the top which version you have:
endeavour u (international tegra3)
Evita (us snapdragon)
As for windows 8 drivers, I know they are available but not sure where to get them from mate, just search google

1) What custom ROM is the best battery lastingwise? Is there an ARHD for the One X? Sorry to bother so much, wish I had more time to read up on my own.
2) Not even sure if this phone is unlocked or not, is it hard to unlock it so that any SIM card is accepted? Thanks!
Ok, I've done some reading, and I found out ARHD exists for the One X. My cousin's phone is on 3.14 firmware and ARHD here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562603 says it is on 4.18
How do I update to 4.18? Can I flash a firmware or is it OK if I update the phone from "Settings" before unlocking and rooting it?
I know that for the One M7, you need to update firmware first before installing the ROM.
If you are on the 3.14 official you do not necessarily need to update the firmware. You can flash that rom straight away
To SIM unlock first try a SIM from a different network carrier, if it asks for a code then you need an unlock code.
There are 2 options
1. Call the network that supplied the phone and see if they will give you the code at no cost to you.
2. Use an unlocking service on eBay, this is what I did because my provider T-Mobile UK (EE) wanted to charge me over £20, instead I got the code from eBay for £2.99, here's a link if your interested mate: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=111262080291&alt=web
This is the seller I used and I got the code within 10 minutes and it worked perfectly.

Thank you, I know how to do all those things, but on ARHD page under the requirements it says:
---Proper HBOOT version for Jelly Bean based ROM - How To change Hboot
And it shows a link to a 22 minute video... is this required or can I just ignore it (I have HBOOT 1.36)
Thanks again!
EDIT: you say to flash boot.img then full wipe then install rom, but http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069904 says to flash rom first then flash boot img... is it the same?
Like i said ...
It doesn't matter if you flash the boot.img before or after mate, I always flash it first.

Haven't seen this before. Did you try to do anything before this happened?
Try getting your bootloader unlocked and flashing a custom recovery. Or if you have a SD card, try placing a firmware inside to let the system install the firmware. I'm s-on so I know not much about s-off. Or you can always send it back to warranty stating that you have no idea what happen to your device
I had that happen to me when I relocked the boot loader your going to have to run the appropriate ruu on your pc with your phone plugged in and on the bootloader screen

This could be caused by several factors including simple errors in the entry of the unlock token, problems with your device, or a lack of manufacturer support for the unlocking process. Please see the specific error code listed below, and try again if necessary.

Try the token again. You have to copy and paste everything including the <<<<< >>>>> but none of the "bootloader" stuff on the side.

Make sure you don't have any "spaces" selected in it too.
Should be a problem with the copy/paste of the code, the reason says it all.

I know this is an old topic but for those experiencing the same problem, you need to go through the token request process via HTCDev all over AGAIN. The old token that you used to unlock is not valid after you relock as it has a different value.
Once you get the new token you can copy it to the fastboot folder and then in command prompt use the command fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin to unlock.
Hope this will be useful to someone in a similar dilema.

This RUU won't work. I already said in other thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc...-relocking-t3525374/post70248407#post70248407
you need this one
0PKVIMG_M8_QL_UL_M60_SENSE70_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.1 _Radio_1.0.U20410.1 @ 60201_20.05_018_F_release_479349_combined_signed.z ip
To make thing easier - you can download this RUU here :
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24591023225176246
then follow this guide on how to install it with microsd method - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62590185&postcount=1
To summarize :
Rename the RUU.zip to 0PKVIMG.zip
Put it on root of microSD
Boot to bootloader then select hboot
It will ask to update
Volume Up to update
Relax .. let it finish its job
Once completed - press power to reboot
Done

Ok, thanks for coming back to me. I have tried the steps you mention.
I have done that. Once I select hboot this is what I get:

You did extract out the RUU zip from the rar .. definitely, right ?
Make sure your windows extension is not hidden when you rename the RUU zip to 0PKVIMG.zip so it won't actually read 0PKVIMG.zip.zip

No, I didn't extract it, I renamed it as per the instructions.
Yeah I checked the file extension, that's not the issue.
I wonder if this is the correct RUU for my setup?

If you open (not extract) the one you renamed, what file that you see inside the zip ?
I guess this is the problem .. you need to extract the RUU out from the RAR file. Inside RAR, there is a folder. Inside this folder there are 2 files, one is A_1st Support.txt and the other one that you need
0PKVIMG_M[email protected]60201_20.05_018_F_release_479349_combined_signed .zip
and this is the one to be renamed to 0PKVIMG.zip

RUU 2.20
I need a Ruu for Version 2.20.
I bought a HTC ONE M8S on Ebay. I reboots always. In the Bootloader
Software Modif. S-on
Hello everybody,
i hope someone can help me here:
My One M8S does not start anymore.
There is always only the bootloader.
A factory reset brought no improvement.
I kept to the instructions.
Unfortunately always Comes:
Image update fail
If I would like to rename the zip in the lower folder zip, then always "data error" comes.
"Insert the last volume of the set and click ok."

Please remove your imei and serialno
Do those lines appear in twrp menu?
Have you tried flashing a different rom?

Seems like hardware issue imo.
Your M8 is blue - have you changed the unibody or it was just a blue model?
Also - was your drawer a dry place? Maybe some moisture somehow got into it.

Yes blue , I've store it in his original box in a dry place
I'd flash a ruu as a last line of defense if it's a software thing.
If that doesn't help then it's a hardware problem, probably the screen. If you're lucky then reconnecting the screen ribbon might fix it, if not - you need a screen replacement.

This error tells that you're trying to flash a ruu that is lower than your current firmware. Try this one - https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=24369303960687057
Also a short guide I've found, just in case
