Audio Settings Have Stopped - Xperia Z5 Premium Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I'm having some real issues with the sound on my Xperia Z5 Premium E8653. Whenever I switch the phone on I immediately see that the audio settings application has stopped and all I hear from the speaker is crackling noise. If I try and access the audio settings from the setting menu I see the same notification. All sound is unavailable throughout the phone and the crackling noise continues with the screen off too.
When I first noticed the issue I rebooted the device but a short while after the phone powers on, I hear the crackling noise again, see the audio app crash notification and all phone audio cannot be played.
I have investigated the log and the phone seems to be having trouble accessing the sound card (i assume) as I keep seeing the following three lines:
Opening sound card state : /proc/asound/card---/state
Open /proc/asound/card---/state failed : No such file or directory
Sleeping for 100ms
I've seen the same log messages in other forums but for other devices so I'm not sure how helpful they are.
I've unlocked the bootloader and loaded a patched kernel with TWRP but this sound issue started happening before.
Is there a way to save the audio on my phone or should I risk sending it back to Sony for repair (worried I've invalidated the warranty due to the unlocked bootloader)?
Thanks!

Microphone and speaker stop working!?

It seems about every day I notice that my phone is no longer making any noises, won't play music, no speakerphone if I make a phone call, and NO MICROPHONE! If I soft reset the problem goes away.
I'm starting to isolate the problem by removing some related programs, starting with Resco Audio Recorder (automatic phone recording) but has anyone else seen this problem?
It's soooo frustrating when someone calls and the microphone is dead.
Hi --
I've seen a similar problem: twice now, in the morning after the phone wakes me up with the alarm, I've gotten calls, where the phone vibrates and shows the incoming-call screen, but there is no ring. I go to answer, and I can't hear anything, and neither can the calling party hear me.
A while ago I put in the Windows directory the new AudioPara3.csv file that's floating around these forums, so I thought that might be the culprit. However, the phone was fine for over a week after loading the file, until I loaded HD Tweak and made a couple of changes with the volume settings. Right now I still have AudioPara3.csv loaded, and have dialed back the HD Tweak volume to the following:
Acoustic settings: Normal
Increase sound: Medium
The last two days the phone has not shown the issue. Now I'm going to try to set Increase sound to High and see if it's still o.k.
Same thing happened to me today as well. I had just installed nitrogen audio player earlier that day. Not sure if it was related.
Same thing happens to me if I increase the acoustic setting in HD Tweak to intermediate level. Revert back to "normal level" and phone works normally.
Interesting, so a sound volume might do it? That's very odd that it affects the microphone too! Anyone have any idea which specific volume might be doing it? I have PhoneAlarm set my volumes based on the time or if there is a current event going on based on its category (ie: work meeting). I wonder if it could be messing with it.
So far no problem after removing Resco Recorder, however... I'm going to leave it off for a week or so then re-install it and see if the problem recurs.

No media sound, but ringtones is fine

My phone suddenly does not have any media sound..(youtube, music....)
But in the sound setting I can still hear the ringtones....
I search for a while and find that the phone may think the headset is plugged...
however I cannot fix it at all..
I used both these app already
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.woodslink.android.wiredheadphoneroutingfix&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.seb.audiotoggle
from the audiotoggle no matter how I force speaker phone,
It is still saying wiredheadsetON: true
SpeakerphoneON: false
what I can do excecpt sending back my phone to samsung...
( this will take forever!)

Very strange speaker problem!

I need help!
My father has been using his HTC Desire for quite some time.
Recently when he receives incoming calls, the ringtone cannot be heard at all. the vibration also suddenly stopped working.
This points to a speaker problem but the strange thing is, when the phone is rebooted, the speaker actually outputs the HTC startup sound and i can hear it.
Also, when i play music, i can hear the music but it is very soft (even at max volume). It was not like this before.
I have checked all settings, the phone's incoming call tone is set to maximum and is not silent.
Is there any method, way, app, software i can use to test the speaker? Is it a corruption problem or an app issue?
I have tried rebooting the phone but to no avail. Thanks!

Low quality audio at low volume levels

I've a very strange problem on my z1 compact with jack audio
When a part of music is at low volume or simply decreasing volume the output sound become crappy similar to speaker's crackling but only at low volume.
isn't a connection problem of the jack audio because moving it does't change anything and i've tried different headset/ audio amplifier turn on airplane mode and the problem persist
Someone have a idea to fix this?
I really don't have idea of what can be, today audio trought jack was good but now is crappy ?
Randomly this problem appear, i think is a hardware problem and not connection (can be DSP damaged?)
No one can explain this issue / have this problem?
what can be? i try to restore original system with sony pc companion with no success (also the bootsound is crappy) but randomly sound good
Try with this if Bootloader are be unlocked:
forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/development/mod-sound-mod-z1compact-5-1-1-t3656562
I found a temporary fix for this problem
The problem appear only after reboot. But
If i use internal earpiece at least one time (doesn't matter how telegram whatsapp or simply start a call) the problem is fixed until next reboot!

Bug on speaker

I returned to stock in Moto G5s and since then the audio is in trouble, I start to hear something (both notification or media) and nothing to run the audio, I restart the cell phone and back to normal and after a time the sound stops again, can someone tell me if this bug has to do with the flash I gave in stock or it could be problem in the same speaker?
