Does anyone know how or if it is possible to force noise cancelling on the Z5P?
I have the headphones that allow it, but my phones headphone jack won't recognize headphones. Wondering if there is a way to make the phone think you have those headphones specifically plugged in.
Thanks

Looks like ICS will support DAC (it does on Galaxy Nexus anyways), but will it support USB headsets (i.e. the microphone)?
Anybody knows?
I wouldn't know... but I was wondering why you'd want such a thing? You can use the headphone jack to run a mic in (I even use it with RTA Pro as an audio tech out of the mixer headphone jack into my gs2 headphone jack) or bluetooth headset, both of which seem more useful. Just wondering what your application is...
Oh, well, just brings a wider option to connect a headsets. I have an excellent headset for telephone calls, Sennheiser CC550. It is a call center type headset with just outstanding sound quality for telephone calls (not inteded for music). It has a normal 3,5 mm compatible plug, and the headphone sound is normal but for some reason the mic gives a high pitched sound quality on all samsung devices including the S2. It works well on all other phones I had over the years Nokias, Ericssons, Iphones (you buy different end adapters). I also have a USB adapter for it - so I was hoping to use that get the mic to produe norma sound again.
And I tried to find other options, but non wired call center quality headset that I or our supplier has tried has worked. I currentely experiment with CM7 and bluetooth headset (as the bluetooth stack isn't working properly on stock rom) but non comes close to the Sennheiser in sound quality.

Long long.. long ago. I got turtle beach headphones I highly regret getting. The issue is after the speakers caved in I was left with two wires, one that is used to hear in the head phones. Comes with a standard av set attached headphone jack for these turtle beaches and other headphones. Another cord was for the mic.
Now for some time I've been using the av headphone jack cord for surround sound on my ps3 "after hooking it up" then left with a cordless jack. I can attach any headphone inside and I'll get sound. My issue is however I cannot control the volume, it stays on a mid range volume that isn't high or low.
So I was wondering is there an app that can do this by using a duo headset jack plugged into my phone and connecting the jacks? It seems a lot harder than its made to be but it is worth it, if your wondering why I just don't use my headset in the surround sound its because my headphones aren't long enough and the ****ty phones jack plug in I bought is loose on 3.5m headphones.
Is there anything or am I doomed for now?
Edit: here's my example -

Hello everyone,
So I recently got HOX and when I'm listening to music through in-ear headphones with an in-line mic the sound quality is really bad, somewhat dull and "incomplete". However, the sound quality gets back to normal when you hold the mic control button on the headphones or unplug the cable extension with in-line mic, or simply use another pair of headphones without a mic . Surprisingly enough, the same thing happens with bundled headphones. So I wonder if there is something wrong with settings or some other fault.
Thanks for any advice in advance.
When I plug in my headphones to the HTC, it acknowledges that they are plugged in as the headphone symbol shows up but no sound comes when I play a video or a game. These headphones came with the phone too. BUT when I use these same headphones on my iPhone it works perfectly, so I know something is wrong with the HTC, not the headphones. Other headphones also don't work on the HTC. Only the HTC's inbuilt speakers work but no sound from headphones. Do anyone know how to fix this problem?

Could be your headphone jack. It may be possible to replace it yourself, or pay someone to do it for you.
Headphone jack, probably worn out or has crap in it clogging it up. Mine is still working well with headphones but no dice with my car headphone to aux cable. The cable is probably outdated. I have 3rd party headphones that worked well at first but now the microphone is acting up during calls and boomsound "glitches" on and off now and again. Headphones are in good - very good condition but I can't rule out an internal break in the wire.
I would be inclined to say that the m9 has sensitive electronics attached to the headphone jack and any short circuits or voltage/amperage/resistance discrepancies would be picked up to protect the rest of the sound system. Headphone jacks tend to arc too which is why you get a thump in speakers when you connect or disconnect the jack.

Does the noise cancelling headphones work and provide noise cancellation? i really hope it does. I have one lying around here and since after the Xz1 i owned,it doesn't function anymore and i would really love to use it.
Doesn't work on Xperia 1 II so unless they changed it for this device probably not
