Been awhile since I have done anything related to rooting on my phone and I'm having some hardware problems so I need to put it stock but unsure what I need to look for and what RUU file I need.

Really its just a matter of finder the same version of the ruu that your device is running. As long as the rom version and your phone and the ruu match you should be good to go with the exe file
That's the thing though I can't remember the stock version or firmware version... also unsure where to find RUU's?

Well first off a fastboot getvar all done in download mode would help to find out CID, MID and firmware version of your device. In addition: are you S-OFF or S-ON?

S-ON and I'm aware it'll say unlocked and I'm okay with that. Just hoping people don't notice.

Your firmware is outdated.
You can get the latest RUU directly from HTC.
Scroll down to the "Manual System Update Instructions" and read them. The RUU download is at the end of the instructions.

Hey guys I really need your help!
Just got this HTC One M9 that was previously rooted with the "Viper" ROM. As the person gave it to me he wiped it clean leaving only "TWRP" on there. Anyways somewhere along the line I accidentally wipe the whole phone clean and now there is no TWRP... Selecting recovery mode comes up with "Failed to boot to recovery mode". And now my computer won't even recognize it as a device. :crying: Guess I got what I paid for, $200.
Can someone please help urgently? Btw, I'm from Australia.
Cheers.
Did you try to turn it off, hold Vol- when powering up and see if it'll boot to download mode? If this works you can easily flash TWRP again to start flashing a custom ROM from scratch, or instead flash an appropriate RUU to return to full stock - if available for you combination of CID/MID.
For further help, if you can get to download mode a fastboot getvar all output would be if help to further assist you. Post it - if possible - without IMEI and Serial No.

I'd advice to download the RUU belonging to your above named main version number, rename it to 0PJAIMG.zip, place it on an external (FAT32 if less than 32GB, extFAT if lager) formatted extSD.
Insert this SD into your phone and boot to download. You should then see a yellow text on the bottom stating what to do to start flashing the RUU and follow it to proceed.
This will get you back to full stock, to be able to start from scratch with whatever you'll do next.

I previously rooted my carrier ONE M9, changed the CID and installed the regular ROM.
Now I don't want root anymore and be able to install OTAs. I tried flashing the RUU and installing a backup. Both approached didn't work, and the device still says it's modified and can't install OTAs. The recovery shows a red icon. How can I allow my device to be able to receive OTAs again?

Be aware that there have been several reports that it's not possible to receive/install OTAs while using the SuperCID (11111111). So make sure you use a CID that corresponds to the OTA you want to install.

Hi Guys,
I've been trying to help a mate who's gotten himself into trouble with his HTC 10. Now i'm certainly no expert either, but figured that by doing some homework and asking in the right places (here!) we should hopefully be able to get out of trouble.
Full disclaimer - I have no idea what he did to the phone before i got it. I'd assume it was rooted and then he's tried to return it to factory.
The phone will not boot, and currently only has access to the bootloader/download mode. The bootloader is locked and S-ON is enabled.
Now here's where i think it get's tricky. I can't seem to find an RUU for the Telstra ROM it's running (841), and i can't enable debug mode to unlock the bootloader to flash any of the SneakyGhost .zip ROM's that I've found. It would appear we're stuck?
Here's the dump of the getvar all:
(bootloader) kernel: lk
(bootloader) product: htc_pmeuhl
(bootloader) version: 1.0
(bootloader) max-download-size: 1578400000
(bootloader) serialno: FA65T********
(bootloader) slot-count: 0
(bootloader) current-slot:
(bootloader) imei: 3575100********
(bootloader) version-main: 3.18.841.1
(bootloader) boot-mode: download
(bootloader) version-baseband: [email protected]
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 1.0.0.0000
(bootloader) mid: 2PS620000
(bootloader) cid: TELST001
Is there any way to get around this? Could I change the cid to a north american one and flash a stock HTC RUU?
Any help or guidance on where to go from here would be great.
Cheers.

First of all sneakyghost doesn't have any ROMS online, only firmware. Firmwares and ROMS are 2 very DIFFERENT things. Firmware is only the bootloader, recovery and such and a rom is the running OS on the phone, so please do not mix those up.
Second if you can't find any ruu with that number, any firmware with that number, any stock backup with that number and the phone isnt running any software it will indeed be a challenge.
S-off is a way (and also 100% needed) to change the cid and change region. Otherwise you will be stuck with telstra.
I will have a quick peek around to see if there is any software out there.
Edit :
Okay i found a RUU but it's a payed website, i know it's legit as i have seen users here used it and succeeded.
https://firmware.gem-flash.com/index.php?a=browse&b=file-info&id=48060
That file is what you need to get the device up and running in 1 sitting.
Thanks for the response. Clears a few things up for me. If I was to pay tglo get that file, could you outline the steps I should follow?

Rename the file to :
2PS6IMG.zip
Place the file on the SD card and enter download mode, follow instructions to flash.

Hi,
I know there was almost the same thread, but it was almost 3 years ago.
I need firmware for CID: T-MOB009 MID: 2PS262000. I downloaded this one:
https://gsm-firmware.com/index.php?a=downloads&b=file&id=15194
But I'm still getting 12 RU_ZIP_ERROR. Of course I tried with other firmwares with 7 RU_CID_FAIL, so I believe the gsm-firmware is the correct for my CID...
The problem is that I am on s-on, right know I can't boot into system so I can't s-off with SunShine and change CID.
Please help!

You should check to see what software/firmware the device currently has/had on it, if possible.
Do this by checking O.S. in Download Mode, and/or preferably by entering the following command:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
and check the version-main in the output.
If your device is currently on a higher version then what you are trying to flash, it will fail due to being s-on.
So, you should first find out what the device is supposed to be running and then go from there as far as finding the proper RUU file version.
OK, so here is my software/firmware:
Code:
(bootloader) kernel: lk
(bootloader) product: htc_pmeuhl
(bootloader) version: 1.0
(bootloader) max-download-size: 1578400000
(bootloader)

(bootloader) version-bootloader: 1.0.0.0000
(bootloader) mid: 2PS620000
(bootloader) cid: T-MOB009
Is it possible to get RUU with 3.18.118.1 version. I think this is the reason...

Yes, I have it on one of my older hard drives, just not sure which one and would take quite some time to locate.
However, I did also find it here, for a small fee: https://firmware.gem-flash.com/index.php?a=downloads&b=file&id=48067
By the way, you should blank out your serial and IMEI numbers above...

Hi guys,
I got a HTC 10 for free because it's currently soft bricked (I can access download, RUU, bootloader, recovery but will not be able to flash or boot unsigned.)
TWRP is somehow installed, however it is S-ON and **Relocked** - System Status Modified
I am looking for RUU for Telstra_WWE_2.48.841.31 or later,
I find it unreasonable to pay for it though, as gem-flash is offering.
fastboot getvar all:
(bootloader) kernel: lk
(bootloader) product: htc_pmeuhl
(bootloader) version: 1.0
(bootloader) imei: **************
(bootloader) version-main: 1.95.841.3

(bootloader) mid: 2PS620000

I managed to fix mine, but unfortunately I've since reinstalled windows and lost the rom. Sorry, but you should be able to find one online for free that works
