Movie search in kodi seems to be broken. Anyone know why or how to fix?
Bump.
Searching movies in kodi exodus is still broken in 2 different separate installations. One on Sony android tv and the other on firestick 2.
I can't be the only one this is happening to. Can anyone help or advise?
Thanks.
They fixed it - temporarily..... Looks like exodus is dying out. Here's a better option

Any idea why my YouTube crashes when I cast from the YouTube app on my Android phone or from my Chromebook using Chrome?
I have sideloaded Kodi and that's about it that's been modded on my AFTV
Same issue here and no fix that I know of.
I just restart the Fire Tv and then it does cast, annoying though.

It's really sluggish if I cast YouTube from my phone to the YouTube app on my fire stick
I just use the YouTube plugin on kodi - you can search on your phone if you find that easier then once you know the name of the video type it in the search box
Yeah, rebooting fixes it. I was trying to find out which app to kill would fix it, but i couldn't. Was also hoping there was maybe some sort of fix.
I've got a wireless keyboard, so i guess i could search for it but it's nice if you find stuff and then just wanna show everyone else in the room
thanks guys
Hello all im after a simple question answered if its at all possible and maybe a little direction on how its acheived.
I have an old galaxy s4 GT-i9505 with a broken screen running as a makeshift android tv.
Its plugged directly into a TV through mhl and serves its purpose very well.
Its mainly used for Netflix/Kodi or any other Tv catchup type app.
Its currently being controlled a number of ways, mainly with a amazon firestick Bluetooth remote, (s4 runs much better than a stick BTW) but certain apps (Netflix, various tv apps) dont recognise the centre button.
However this isnt an issue as I have different methods to control apps that dont use my remote too well (droidmote).
What my main question is, when installing an app say Netflix on an android phone how can I get the app to think its being installed onto an android tv device like FireTV,firestick, nexus, or any generic android tv box?
Is there a way to modify my rom to enable fooling detection of Android tv?
If this is not possible is there any android tv rom I might be able to use on the gt-i9505?
Last question Id like answered, is there anyway I can map the buttons on my Bluetooth remote to ger the centre button working?
I would be very grateful if any devs who may read this help out by letting me know if any of this is possible, ive exhausted Google search but came up with nothing.
Thanks alot.
Just to add to this, am I able to use gapps for Android tv? Or should I use the micro option?
Again really appreciate any help or pointers.
+1
1. Is there a way to use a Kindle Fire Tablet that is Rooted to access the favorites.xml on Fire TV Second Generation.
2. I added some music from my computer to the music tab in Kodi 17.1 and I got the music to show up but there is no album art showing up anybody have any idea why this is happening
Still looking for help on this
I think you might better head to the kodi boards forum.kodi.tv for these specific questions.
They will not help me at all because I have some third party add-ons installed and even though they don't have anything to do with my problem they will still not help me at all

anyone had a issue with kodi being super slow when connecting to the internet to search for shows, installing anything, or loading anything. i tried to uninstall kodi and install a new version. Now i can't even get it to connect to install Indigo for TV addons. I have a fire stick and it doesn't seem to have as much of a issue.
Try SPMC. It's a fork of Kodi specifically for Android (FireTV) based systems. I've just installed it myself minutes ago, can notice a slight increase in performance have yet to test any buffering playback quality
Edit: also a good choice for a setup instead of those laggy builds is this guide from Reddit "a tutorial I made on customizing Kodi to look and act like a super powered Netflix" I'm a new user so I can't post the link but google it.
Just uninstall and reinstall if your having issues with your add-ons your prolly doing the process wrong I'm sure you have figured that out by now.

Yea I'm having the same issue I installed the add-ons using with supreme build wizard
Not slowness, but the movie search tool in exodus has stopped working. Somebody wrote it was an ip problem. I don't know. But right now I cannot search for a movie title.
Kodi is having problems. Maybe they're clamping down on it.
Is anyone else having this problem?
I use Amazon Silk to access YouTube on my 2nd Gen Fire TV. It works fine, but doesn't fit the screen (shows slightly wider boarders). Everything other than YouTube fills the screen.
Is there a buried setting I'm not finding? Has anyone else had this problem? (lengthy unsuccessful searching suggests I might be the only one!).

Why not sideload the APK. Then you don't have to deal with Silk. Can you not sign in, or does it need Google Services?
Better yet, sideload this: https://smartyoutubetv.github.io/

I highly recommend this one also.
BTW, it has the ability to do voice search, but I don't know how to get it to work.
Thanks all!
Sideload Smart YouTube TV as suggested and all works perfectly
