[MM] Terrible Memory Usage - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello fellas, since i'll already moved to V20.. I use my G4 as a backup device ( Only if my V20 is ran out of battery, i will switch back to G4 again.. )
Lately, i found out that it have a really terrible memory issue..you can refer to my screenshot attached, i only got below 200MB free ram..
Is it normal?
Before i'll left my G4 for V20.. I usually got around 600MB+ on free memory.. what happened? Is my G4 has gone mad on me because i got a better replacement for it? Now it seems like my G4 is performing worser than my G3, even worser than my old crap Xperia Z on LP 5.1..
When i'll do whatsapp or gaming, it's lag as hell and then force close.... Scrolling facebook is even more impossible, it's force close after a minutes using it.. Even the launcher got redraws so many times.. I don't want to throw away this phone, i still love it.. Plus, i want to see nougat on this phone...
Since it is a locked bootloader, there is nothing much i could do.. i'm clueless with unrooted phone.. So, any solution is appreciated.. Thank you

Overall performance/ram management

Hello,
I've been looking for solution but couldn't find anything. I have huge problem, which for me disqualifies phone. I dont want to go back to G2, but I might have to. Anyway the phone cant even keep few chrome cards in memory. Sometimes it can take up to 6 cards without reloading them and sometimes even 3 are too much for it.
It does open apps quite fast, so no issues there. I have 16/2gb version, but still even if I check whats the current free memory it shows around 500mb (which is more than my g2 had with typical usage). I've been using adblock on most of my phones, but I still didnt root g3, so I dont know... is it normal?
Also even simple games as Subway surfers are lagging. How the f... is that possible? Ok I get that QHD is killing performance in demanding games, but SS was lag free on my htc evo 3d...

[Q] G3 still worth it with overheating and other bugs?

Hello guys,
I'm thinking of buying the LG g3 which for me is the best phone right now. However, I have seen it has some bugs regarding overheating, WiFi drop, bad battery life etc.. Do you think it is still worth it or should I go for a Z2 which has the same price in my country (Spain). Regarding the overheating issue, a lot of people say they have it and a lot of people say they don't... Is This just chance or is it linked to a specific model and version?
Thanks

Watch that and make your own mind up - this is the opinion of Pocketnow - 3 months after launch.

As the overheating, since I upgraded to v10L firmware, overheating issues it completely gone for me, even after 40 minutes of playing Real Racing 3 on max detail mod or Dead Trigger 2 for about half an hour. It still heats just like every other device ( HTC, Samsung or Sony) but it doesn't get to extreme temperatures which turn off your phone automatically. What are those other bugs you are refering to?

I have my LG G3 for 2 months now and I never experienced any random reboot, except for 2 times when it said the reason was extreme temperature, but that got away after updating firmware and never happened again. But it was only when I had first firmware. I also use ART as runtime which is considered to be buggier and more "app crashy" than Dalvik, but I never got any crash or random reboot.. Usage of unoptimized apps can random reboot any phone. As for LG software, LG's apps and the most common and most widely used apps work perfectly without any hiccup. You should never experience any error, crash or random reboot. At least I didn't. Always try to use trusted and well optimized apps if you want the best experience. Also don't install any battery or RAM cleaning apps, that **** just slows down your phone and drain your battery rapidly. It depends on you if your phone will random reboot or not. It's not just LG thing, it also concerns HTC, Sony, Samsung or any other manufacturer. You can ask my sister, she installed few cleaners, RAM boosters, 1 optimizer and 2 battery boosters on new Nexus 7 which should be most stable Android experience, but her battery life got worse and she does often get random reboot. So treat your phone well and it won't random reboot anytime

s6 edge, fast at first, laggy after a few days

Is anyone having this issue, I only installed a few apps and widgets, nothing big and now when I click my phone app, it takes almost 2 seconds before the dial pad shows up, same with messages, o was hoping this phone would be the first not to have this issue but it seems like it's an android thing, I deleted most of my apps and still it's slow, which sucks because my wife's iPhone always loads apps quick, I just factory reset and now it's back to being quick but I feel like I can't download my important apps because the more I add the slower it gets
Yup. I'm definitely getting lag. Lots of it to be honest. I'm trying to overlook it, but it's gotten pretty bad today, especially while updating Google play apps in the background.
It's also getting extremely hot on the back, specifically the rear middle, towards the right side.
not much lag to complain but yes I am also facing those heating issues..
I was first told that all phones get hot if you use them while charging but then it has happened thrice now even when I am not charging it.
The heat is pretty bad right at the end of your right thumb..
My S6 was fast the first few days then starting lagging opening hangouts and G+. I closed my open apps and helped a little. I installed clean master and it's back being fast. I have no heat issues.
This supposed to be the fatest phone but it has more lag compared tomy other phone Moto x 2015 amd Htc M8 . unbelievable
Obviously something is making lag that should be able to fix considering it didn't lag out of the box. Or am I wrong? I think I saw that a factory reset fixes it. I might try it at some point but doesn't bother me that much.

then something isn't right, because there is zero lag on this phone..
My S6 just all of a sudden started lagging really bad. Like I had the issue where I would take a picture and would want to check it out and click the gallery app. Man that took like a good few seconds, and it was bothering me really bad. So I decided to do a master reset, and then deal with the bs that the stock messenger would not restore messages from a back up that was done 4 hours before the reset. So yet again this phone is lagging really bad. It is rooted with Nova, and for whatever reasons apps open up slow, they switch slow, and I am irritated that my 2yr old M7 worked faster then this. I have done the developer scale back options as well as Greenify and Debloater and the lag is just unbearable on this new 2015 phone. I have a possibly 70 apps, and I am just wondering what you all have done to circumvent the lag.

Questions about LG G4 (Bootloop and battery)

Hy,i want to buy an LG G4 (Single sim,h815) and i want to ask two big questions.
1. I read something about the big bootloop problem, so, the phones that are now on market, they still got that hardware problem that cause the bootloop ?
2. How about the battery ? I read that the battery wasn't so good on lolipop, how it is now on the marshmallow ?
Thanks for answer :good:
Botloop is still a problem no matter when the phone was released - pure lottery. I have had mine since 8 months with no issue but there are bad examples as well.
Related battery, I would say it is below average. I get 48hrs standby with 2.5 SOT with 50% wifi and 50% data. Just web browsing.

anybody else getting serious lag and ram being used up

I know unused ram is wasted ram, but I'm constantly at 90% ram and it's causing the phone to lag and stutter to the point its unusable unless I reboot then I'm good. Just wanted to see if anybody was going through the same thing or if I have a rouge app up to something.
I've noticed that myself.. That is why I have debloated my phone without root. I have also notice the biggest user of the ram is the Android OS 1.3 Gb.

Same here. It's a typical LG thing. Their Android mods are slick and lovely, but they're far from lightweight.
I moved from a Sony XZ1 Compact to a G7, and it is generally a significantly slower, laggier experience. With the Sony it would generally use less than 2gb of RAM at the outset. I could come back to an app a week later and it'd still be open. With this G7 I think it's rare to see it under 3gb consumption, and every time I open the camera I'm evicted most other apps from memory.
Then there's the lag! I thought a years newer flagship tech would have minimized the LG lag experience, but no.
Also no, at least for T-Mobile uS G7, no root, no AOSP and official device trees. I am made of regret, definitely never another LG, and Sony for me from here on out.
This phone has given me the least amount of issues with lag and freezes out of any phone I've had. I do a lot of gaming on here and rarely have an issue. I try to install as much as possible on my SD card, I don't know if that would make a difference with RAM usage, and I don't leave a bunch of apps running in the background.
