Hi all, I am looking for a fast and light rom, easy on installing and use for dual sim. It's my husband's phone, and for now he refuses to buy a new one. His phone is laggy, easily discharges, uncomfortable to use. Right now it runs cm13.
Could you please give me a recommendation?

Hi guys. I bought a Xperia Arc (LT15i) last year, SIM-Unlocked, T-mobile branded and lots of bloatware. The experience so far couldn't be better. I love the UI and the camera is great. Since the very beginning it has being laggy, but it was bearable. Recently I updated to ICS hoping I would get a bit faster. At the beginning it was nice, but now it crashes a lot, and I can hardly avoid throwing it to a wall. Moreover battery lasts 8 hours with hardly use, which is very annoying as I have to go everywhere with cables and chargers (not sure if the battery is actually working well. I haven't tested it or used a brand new one).
I would like to flash a good and stable rom, if possible with JB. Which one would you recommend. I unlocked once the bootloader, but I didn't really want a custom rom at the moment, but the ICS stock one, so I relocked in order to get it. Not sure if that was the best thing to do, but it was running at quite a decent speed. Now it is very very laggy (even doing trivial things such as searching a contact!!!), and when I got my sony smartwatch, the battery drain was overwhelming.
I want something smooth, a custom ROM would be very welcomed. I read about Jelly Sandwich. Seems really nice, but since I don't want have the time to read all the posts, can anybody tell me if there's any problem connecting to the smartwatch in a custom ROM? Also, some comments regarding performance and battery drain on such ROM would be very much appreciated.
I don't have any game installed, since the available storage is very limited (I have like 39 mb left). I use mail a lot, chat applications (such as whatsapp, IMO, talk, etc.), facebook and twitter.
I really want to get the most out of it before I buy myself another phone (Xperia V, maybe?).
Thanks in avance, a newbie.
I recomend you X Gamer or another GB Rom as Arconium 8.2, because JB and ICS will make your device slower cause they need more resources to run ok. If you want smoothness my recomendation is to use X-Gamer Rom from OmenHTX. Im using it right now and its go flashy

If u want to use your devices faster, your battery life time may lower. So, trying a custom rom which developer claimed how much fast their rom, sure the battery will drain faster. If u want to use battery longer, your phone performance will also slower. So try using the stock rom is the best as the sony developer team balanced all the properties. I would like to recommend you one thing is to use app like Advance Task Killer (for fast performance & battery lift) and Link2SD (for storage performance problem). And also Rom Toolbox Pro app. With this app, you can stop unwanted app from auto running. This can greatly reduce memory usage.
Good Luck Guy,
Should i buy this? Otherwise the phone functions fine. If overheating is the only problem can i root the phone and a kernel to get a cool maybe and a rom? Which rom is good to recommend?

Phone is $118 on amazon for about 10 more hours (since posting this). You can purchase the tudia slim fit case and Mr.sheild screen protectors and it equal around same price without the sale. And P.s the phone doesn't overheat as much as it's given sh** for. It really just depends on your usage. I'd recomend omni rom as a superb alternative to stock rom...
AOSPA is also on the way and it looks really promising so stay tuned to see the new 7.1.2 build here http://get.aospa.co/official/robin
I bought this Ebay #401346620894 says the phone overheats. Ill take my chances probably needs to be updated
Hello good people.
This is my first time around trying out a new rom, and I just installed nitrogen os 7.1.2. I'm blown away how people are able to port this stuff to my old phone.
I am trying to find the right rom for me, alas many roms seems to be abandoned. So I am looking for the most stable\complete mod for my phone, which also increases performance as 4.4.2 is pretty slow on my phone.
So can anyone recommend a rom for me?
Thank you!
True, this phone is rather too old now. Sold mine for 10% of the cost a couple months ago and just cuz of the battery and the over-heating. Still missing it, it was a beast back in the day, it still kinda is considering it ran Asphalt 8 rather smoothly, but it became unusable lately
If you haven't gotten completely bored of the LG UI, I think you should try Artmod and Sling rom. They are fast, stable, offer some other functionalities and customizations, support xposed and most importantly the camera quality doesn't get compromised. The other roms don't do justice to the camera.
I have also used ResurrectionRemix, like in every phone I have because of the customizations it offers right off the bat, it is ofcourse smooth and stable.
hi, just bought this amazing tablet.
it already got lineage 14.1 on it, but it dont know if this is the right rom for me.
i already looked into the android development section but its just too full and just too much, and i dont really want to try them all out.
so, all i want is to have a very good battery performance and to make out the most of the s pen, as i need it for the university, and it should be fast.
should i stay with lineage or should i switch to something lelse? sometimes, lineage feels kinda laggy to me, even if its freshly installed.
greetings
I think the stock ROM will be good enough for you, as you need good S-pen support.
Hey XDA,
Hope all is well for everyone. I don't know how active this sub is, but I am gonna ask anyway!
I was doing some cleaning and found my old Galaxy Nexus (I9250) Maguro. I gave it to my mom to use, but then i gave her my Note 3 and now S7 edge. We are thinking of just sending this phone to an aunt but since its old and runs JB we may not even do that. I dabbed into rooting back when I had it but I am wondering what the community around the GNexus is in terms of custom roms? What is possible to do with this old phone? My only worry is that its only the 16GB version and the ram isn't alot. How well do custom roms work on the GNexus? Maybe I can update it and maybe side load AA and use AA mirror to access youtube and other things in the car, or maybe even just get it rooted and run linux, but I am wondering how performance will be? is it worth it?
Thanks
It seems to be difficult to make a ROM for this device which is fast *and* stable (especially when the battery starts deteriorating and you want to take a whole bunch of photos = constant reboots when the sudden power draw causes the power management software to freak out). Mine is now running ZeeLog's unofficial build of LineageOS 14.1 - it seems pretty stable, but 14.1 on the GNex is s-l-o-w. I only really keep it as an emergency spare, but since it's here I've been using it for streaming. In a few days when that use stops, it'll be relegated to occasional use as a Wi-Fi dongle for OSs which can't see the *actual* dongle on the computer - being tethered while that happens means the failing battery won't matter too much.
tl;dr it'll be slow, and may need frequent / continuous access to charging
I also want to repurpose my old GNEX. Any good rom suggestion ?
I'd like a fast booting rom, and just turn it into a glorified ereader... Suggestion wanted please! Thanks
