[HELP] GT-i9190 "Recovery Booting.... warranty set bit: recovery" - Galaxy S 4 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello y'all, this is my first post, I'm not so new in this forum, I've been reading hundred of posts here, but I think it's time to ask for some help because I'm really going insane (lol).
Ok, so let's begin... I made a mistake upgrading my Mini S4 (GT-9190) to 4.4.2 and installing TWRP 3.0.3... Since my phone was in a logo stuck statement, I wanted it to work. I thought that "rooting" it via recovery (TWRP) would be good, but it was a big mistake.
When I tried to load a new 4.4.2 firmware on Odin, it just got stuck (Odin) at writing the recovery.img showing up a blue box with "RECOVERY" in it. I waited hours, and nothing. I had to disconnect the phone, pull the battery off, and reset.
I flashed it again, it was "successful"
Now.. the phone is showing me this annoying message when I try to boot recovery:
RECOVERY BOOTING....
warranty set bit: recovery
I read this was caused because I don't have installed the stock recovery, but how could it be that? I mean, I'm installing stock firmwares only. (4.4.2 versions, since the annoying knox doesn't allow to downgrade these phones, AT LEAST from what I've read and tried on my own...)
Also, when I try to do a "normal boot" (only Power button pressed) this screen goes directly to ODIN MODE showing up the following text on the top:
Could not do normal boot.
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: GT-I9190
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
KNOX KERNEL LOCK: 0x0
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x1
CSB-CONFIG-LSB: 0x30
BOOTLOADER AP SWREV: 2
WRITE PROTECTION: Enable
I've flashed like 10 different roms by now, and still no luck I don't know what to do. If someone knows, please let me know asap. I'll be extremely glad with any response.
Thanks in advice. Mr. Rage~
P.S: I can't post images because I'm new and this is my first thread. Sorry.

Nobody knows? Oh well... :crying:

S6 Edge Brick HELP!

Hello all,
I rooted my G925T device 1-2 weeks ago (SUPERSu?) and haven't had any major problems. Yesterday my phone died and while charging, I turned it back on only to get stuck on the T-mobile screen. I tried most everything including using Odin to reset to stock 5.1.1 firmware but I am getting a FAILED response (can't open the serial(com) port).
Some notes (not sure if relevant):
-90% sure my SuperSU was not enabled when my phone died and this started happening
-Pretty sure I unchecked the USB Debugging right after I rooted
-I wiped all my data from the recovery mode
Any help, tips, suggestions? THANKS!

Try this. Smart Switch usually can fix your boot loops. Be warned though you will lose everything on the phone. It will be reset to like you got it from the store. Except with the latest firmware.
can be deleted

The Emergency Recovery Smart Switch method worked!
I was able to find my s/n when I selected to view the barcode before going into download mode.
I thought s/n would be IMEI but its not.

NEED HELP! GT-I9190 Hard bricked, currently stuck in a bootloop

Hello! this is my first thread on this forum, which im making because I ran out of options, and don't know what to do...
It looked like my Galaxy S4 mini (GT-I9190) died last weekend (april 29) I was watching a video on youtube and suddendly it ''ran out of memory'' (the screen froze) and it turned completely black, the audio was still playing and I decided to force it to shut down (holding the power buttom)
The audio stopped, and I tried to boot it back but it wouldn't answer at all, so I removed the battery, put it back on, still nothing after many attempts (also trying download mode and recovery mode, none of them worked).
So I decided to plug it into the computer, and that's how I found it wasn't ''completely dead''
My computer detected the device as ''QHSUSB_DLOAD'' which was a good sign, meaning I wouldn't have to put my s4 mini to sleep forever.
So after some research, coming across people using 300 kohm resistors to force a bricked phone to dl mode, people using weird hardwares, Jtags and whatnot (all of these methods involved extra hardware) I found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2625628 and this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2660566
The .img in the scard method, links up there.
So I gave it a try and guess what, it actually worked, my phone actually responded after placing back the sdcard and the battery, I didn't even had to press the power buttom.
My phone booted, but displaying this screen:
Boot recovery mode
Check boot partitions
Copy from T-Flash
Boot recovery. .
Write 139008 sectors. .
Flash write failure
Ddi : mmc_read dailed
ODIN MODE
Product name: GT-I9190
Current binary: Samsung official
System Status: Custom
Knox kernel lock: 0x0
Know warranty void: 0x1
csb-config-lsb: 0x30
Bootloader Rp swrev: 2
Write protection: Enabled
Click to collapse
after this point, It wouldn't go further
I tried download mode at least 10 times, I't didn't work, the phone booted back to that screen again.
So I switched the vol- for vol+ to see what happen (I was doing download mode: power vol- and home)
And It worked, my phone went to the ''Galaxy S4 mini GT-I9190'' Screen, the first screen you see when it actually boots.
but after this point, It bootlooped turning off and back on to this screen and so.
when the phone turned off, I tried download mode once again and IT FINALLY WORKED.
At this point I believed that everything was over, I would connect it into odin a flash a stock firmware.
But it just started... (here comes the interesting part)
I tried to flash a stock firmware with odin, yeah, the blue progress bar and everything, my phone rebooted, but nothing, the same bootloop again. Here comes an important question: Do I need to flash a specific region firmware? or any region should work? First, I flashed an argentina region firmware (ARO was the code), results: Bootloop
After that, I tried the Russian firmware (I dont know if the region of my phone is Rusia, but I believe so because after doing a factory reset, the default language was russian, please answer this as well) and BOOTLOOP again...
So basically, The main problem is a bootloop, but I dont know what is causing this
After this point, I'm stuck, and not knowing what to try...
I'm looking for answers, what should I do? what can I try?
If you can answer any of these questions please do it...
Do I need a specific region firmware? (I already tried argentina(ARO), and Rusia (SR)) oh yeah, I tried Rusia SR, should I try XE? XE seems to be a multi-region format (?) I don't have a clue actually... I really need the opinion of someone who knows about this
If the default language when doing a factory reset is russian, this means my phone's region is Rusia?
Is there a way to know the region of my phone, when hard bricked? I dont have the box, manuals, nothing...
What was that weird screen my phoned displayed after booting with the .img sdcard? (read the quotes higher in this post)
Is there a posibility that the bootloader is corrupted, and is causing the bootloop?
I want to try everything before a JTAG service, what are these hardwares? What do they do?
Oh here is an important question:
I read that the baseband of unbrick.img has to match the baseband of my phone... is this completely true? if so, what can I do? where can I get a specific baseband .img file, and what can I do since I already used another .img (I dont know if the baseband was the same) and im already stuck on a bootloop? If a use a correct baseband .img file will the phone stop the bootloop?
Im looking forward to see your posts...
If you need any aditional information feel free to ask...
If you don't have a clue, just like me, please send this thread link to someone who could help...
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Also recovery mode NOT working, when trying to enter this mode, the galaxy s4 mini gti9190 screen displays ''entering recovery mode'' on the upper left screen, and after that it turns off and the bootloop continues
Still with the same problem and i cannot flash any Recovery like CWM or TWRP, cuz it does Pit File partition table error
Try a NAND-Erase, I dont suggest it but it could fix your problem. Goodluck

I'm stuck at the "Downloading... Do not turn off target !!" screen - help!

Hello,
Today, I decided that it was time for a factory reset. My SIII's been quite slow recently, and I've become frustrated with it. I went into settings, and got to the point where you need the PIN to reset the phone. I enter it, and everything's fine and dandy. The button to reset it's there, so I click it. The phone shuts down fine, but upon reboot, I got the "Downloading... Do not turn off target !!" screen. I attempted to restart the phone with the power button, removing the battery, the VOL+/PWR/Home combo, and the VOL-/PWR/Home combo. Nothing works. I decided to create an account here and post this.
I recently rooted this SPH-L710 with Kingo, and then installed TWRP because I thought that it could be useful in the future. I think I might have been wrong. I've never previously attempted to root this phone, nor install custom ROMs. It's on 4.4.2, not activated, and has not had issues until now.
My "Downloading..." screen contains some text in the top left; hopefully some of it is useful. It says:
Could not do normal boot.
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SPH-L710
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
Warranty Bit: 0
BOOTLOADER RP SWREV: 2
The last three lines interested me, because I didn't see those on other phones that were in "Downloading mode."
I'm a bit of a newbie, so I apologize if I don't understand some of the terminology. What do I need to do to get my phone to boot properly?
Thanks for your time,
spsr20
Edit: It's fixed now. Thank you, madbat99!

Did you flash the right TWRP? D2spr from official TWRP site? I've never used Kingo root (nor would I). If you have a pc, the proper root is Odin flash TWRP, then TWRP flash SuperSU , or magisk.
You may have to Odin back to stock.

Strange bricked GT-I9195 (bootloop and no recovery mode)

Hi all!
I've got a bricked Samsung S4 mini.
It's stuck in a bootloop and I've got no recovery mode (No command with dead droid). Kies doesn't recognize it.
I've tried:
- flashing CWM and TWRP to get recovery mode up and running but no luck. Odin completes fine and it restarts (tried to enter on first reboot as described) but still "No command".
- flashing stock firmware from sammobile.com. I completes fine but when i restart its no difference (bootloop and no recovery)
- flashing stock firmware (all files with pit file) https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2751224. This gets error in Odin and "SW REV CHECK FAIL: FUSED 2 > BINARY 0" in on the phone. I suspect its the wrong firmware.
In download mode:
Code:
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATYS: Official
KNOX KERNEL LOCK: 0x0
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x0
CSB-CONFIG-LSB: 0x30
BOOTLOADER AP SWREV: 2
WRITE PROTECTION: Enable
I'm all out of ideas and would love some help. I've found some similar threads on this but no solution.
How do i find out exactly what model number I've got. The back says GT-I9195 and the Samsung Warrany site says "cant find product". I guess its because its a Scandinavian phone.
Any help much appreciated.
/Daniel

What was the last thing you did that caused the boot loop and made recovery inaccessible?

I got it from a friend and he said that it started to behave strange. So he decided to try flashing a custom rom.
It seems to have been a little bit to custom for this device Maybe he flashed the wrong version.
Reply.
Flashing a "wrong version" can be fatal to an android device, this has happened to 2 of my phones to my younger, more inexperienced self (around 4 years ago), for one of the phones recovery and download mode became corrupted (inaccessible), and the other phone became a complete and utter "brick" (useless), it was unable to even be turned on!
My point is that if he had flashed a rom, or even worse; a stock firmware for his phone this can seriously kill it, I suggest asking him what rom and what model the rom was built for.
Update me once you find out.

He said that he doesn't know exactly. He tried a few but all should have been for the GT-I9195.

If all of them were for the GT-I9195, then please list them for me, or at least the last one that was flashed, as I can't help you if I'm told that everything was done correctly.

So you haven't been flashing roms, but rather stock firmwares, what odin were you using?

My friend said that he initially flashed a Cyanogenmod rom and it worked but he didin't like it and the troubles started when he tried to revert to stock.
Odin version: 3.09
Thanks.

That's unusual, flashing stock firmware is very unlikely to cause any problems but fix everything...Could you please give me the link to the stock firmware your friend was flashing? (If you have it)
