Dual 4g - Lenovo P2 Questions & Answers

Hey guys,I bought a P2 recently.I had one question,is dual 4g supported in device? I mean I have two 4g Vodafone Sims but it shows 4g/3g/2g on one sim and 3g/2g on second. So this means it supports one 4g sim at a time right?
Thanks

Right and you can do nothing to change it . It is chipset dependent

U mean due to SD 625 ? I guess Redmi note 4x supports dual 4g at the same Time.

Not one snapdragon chipset can do dual 4G. Because mediatek patented it. And they don't share each other's technology because they are competitors.

Celoxocis is right.
To make it more complicated In Snapdragon family chipset 625 ( and others ) there are few modem chips

Think of it like a PC modem. You cannot have 2 connections on one modem. You need a seperate modem for each connection.
The chipset only has one 4g modem so only one 4g connection can be made at once.

Okay, got it! Thanks everyone

[Q] CPU question

Hello, I just bought a Tab S 10.5 LTE version. I found out only now that the CPU varies between models, so now I wonder, will mine come with a Snapdragon or an Exynos?
It wasn't written on the description.
Use an app called cpuz to find out what chipset you have and everything about your device.
Yeah I will. But the thing is it will arrive in 3-4 days so the doubt is strong
I was just wondering whether 100% of LTE versions have the snapdragon.

If you bought LTE version, it will be snapdragon 100%. Exynos doesnt have LTE support.
Snapdragons is exclusive to u.s carriers

wrong, here in Sweden both WiFi and LTE uses Exynos 5420, with LTE support thanks to the Intel LTE chip.

All right thanks. That's a bummer :|
From what I've read the CDMA US carriers (vzw + Sprint) have snapdragons, the others have exynos.

My T705 is not a Snapdragon, it's a Exynos?

I recently got a Samsung Galaxy Tab S, the SM-T705 model. It's a 16GB Titanium Bronze 4G LTE model, but when I was looking at the hardware specs, I noticed - it's not a Snapdragon. It's Exynos5420! I hit up Wikipedia and other well known sources and it says "The T705 uses Snapdragon 800 series chipset". That's false, at least for my device.
So, I'm thinking that Samsung wanted to use Snapdragon for their Tab S LTE devices, but ran into issues with various things and switched to their own chipset and modem implementation. I always thought Samsung used another chipset for 4G LTE devices, because they couldn't get it working with their own.
Is my T705 a newer version or something? I noticed in /proc/cpuinfo it says "Hardware: Universal5420 Revision: A" ... that would mean it's been through 10 hardware revisions (A in hex is 10 in decimal, AFAIK)
Samsung Exynos doesn't have LTE support. So they used to have Snapdragon with built in LTE, but now developed a solution for their Exynos with an accompanying chip for that.
I believe the ones with 32 GB internal memory are the snapdragon versions. I got a T805 16 GB and its Exynos, and I am disappointed because I cannot play 4k video like my Snapdragon Note 3.
The only snapdragon variants are the two US CDMA models--- SM-T807V and SM-T807P for Verizon and Sprint respectively.
Yes if you can connect to LTE then your cpu is snapdragon.
I would say incorrect here, because my device has LTE and its clocks match the Exynos WiFi version. So I am led to believe it was just a doll of the dice. It plays 10bit 720p MKVs fine, handy when i want to watch anime away from my desktop.
Mine is LTE capable with Exynos.

Incorrect
AT&T LTE TAB S is not Snapdragon either.
My T705 LTE is exynos as well (unfortunately). Samsung uses an Intel chip set to do both 2g,3g and 4g and disables the mobile support in the exynos. The Intel chip does not cope very well with 3g/4g handover.
SM T705 LTE snapdragon here...
How do I find out what processor my tab is.

Use an app called cpuz. It should tell you if you have snapdragon or not.

SM-T705M here, it's an Exynos that has 4G, now how cool is that?
Enviado do meu Galaxy Tab S
Same here
My t705 is an exynos with sim card slot. However it has a problem. It never recognizes the sim. I've tried another Samsung based rom but it still does not work. Anyone experience this?
Is the sim a nano sim in an micro adapter maybe? I had this issue with mine. It's well fussy about alignment.
Just make sure the SIm is clean and you may want to check to ensure no loose onjects got into the SIM Card slot. If you are using custom firmware, make sure you use one for T705. Wifi only firmware doesnt have the drivers for the LTE chip.

Where did you buy it ? I mean with Snapdragon 2.3 ? Thanks, Mike
SM-T705 is Exynos edition with LTE support and capable of playback 4K video without single issue.

Lumia 640 XL DS unlock LTE support ?

I have lumia 640 XL dual sim if we edit model name to 640 XL DS LTE and force to flash system from 640 XL DS LTE, can this unlock LTE in my phone(add LTE function) ?
Snapdragon 400 has LTE, are there any other diffrences in hardware or just firmware like was in many pc graphic cards ?
Would like to know this too. I managed to get 4g option on my 3g 640xl ds, but cannot check if it works because we don't have 4g in Ukraine(
The Snapdragon chipset in LTE and non LTE versions are different. MSM8926 supports LTE and MSM8226 doesn't.

Is there aby other way from which we can get LTE option on,lumia 640xl because when i digged i saw
LTEattachguid (string nd even multistring )
Are there any specific values for that??

Is there any way to add LTE/WCDMA/GSM (Auto) option in a rooted SM-N750 ?

So my phone is an Indian Note 3 Neo (SM-N750) which has an Exynos processor as you might already know. I need to activate the above requested option so as to trick a LTE only sim into believing that my device can support LTE so that it can at least provide me 3G speeds.
Just for clarification, MediaTek and Qualcomm based users can do this using engineer mode tools and services and I know about that. I just want to know is it possible on an Exynos device or not.

No, N7505 and N750 has got different modems.

So you mean to say that I can't even spoof add that option just so to trick the SIM ?

See i need this option to trick a 4G only sim into believing that i have a 4G ready device. Just for the sake of learning if it can be done or not. No particular use as such .

What variant?

What variant should you buy if you want to root with att and has the Snapdragon processor? Bands would also have to work for signal

Anyone? Is it the f or the DS variant? Or maybe b?
I'm not positive but usually you need Exynos processor to root. That means you'll be the UK or International variant which is usually the F.
It's very unlikely there will be root for the Snapdragon processor if it's carrier unlocked, much less likely if it is at&t flavored. Those were the good old days.
I was planing on getting the note 10 5g before this phone and the "better" one was the China version... They had snapdragon devices rooted in those threads
