Hello guys,
I have a Joying Android 4.4.4 1024x600 mctb car unit.
Like i said on the title, after upgrading to the latest official seller's fw i wanted to replace back GPS SD card in the slot. But after putting and pushing it in that slot unfortunately it is broken. Tried to pull it out but get worse and whole slot is broken.
How can i use now a GPS software? I can buy a navigation app on play ▶ store but not sure it will work.. Also cannot upgrade to malaysk rom i think... Am I right?
Nobody? Serious? So icannot upgrade to Malaysk without GPS cardslot? and cannot navigate anymore?
I have managed to root and made some space for an extra GPS software. Now Here we go app is installed and setted up as default navigation app.
But i really want to upgrade to Malaysk rom. How can I do that without a SD Card. GPS card slot is defect
Bad nieuws, Here we Go app is not working, Sygic seems to be working but freezes a lot..
Still Waiting An Answer For Question: How can i upgrade to another ROM without SD Card slot?
Have you considered return under warranty or self repair, requesting spare part from supplier?
Warranty? Unfortunately not anymore and already asked for spare parts but it is not possible. I have to order a full frame bezel with screen assembling. It costs more than ıt worths. Bought from China. Manufacturer and seller is actually helpful but not realistic.

Can anyone show how to flash through SD card my Blue Angel please...from wm03 to wm06? I was searching on wiki but there says nothignn about SD CARD... Can anyone simply show me how to do that? Which ROM to install and that stuff... MANY THANKS
never heard before flashing BA from SD,
Sorry...
i dont have cabel for connecting with PC :-(... and here i Serbia i cant buy a new one so i will never install WM06 :-(... Any HELP
At this point, your only options are:
find a cable if you want to flash the phone
send it to someone who has a cable so they can flash it for you and send it back
Hard reset
In case you have a preproduction HERMES and you can not update the ROM (due to the fact that your bootloader is <1.04) here the very easy solution:
***info removed, wrong device or mis-informed***
This also works for normal (non preproduction) devices but keep in mind that if the CID does not match the flashing might not work.

Hi Guys,
Have a issue with t my HTC Desire, was using it after upgrade of ROMS to 2.2 and playing with different things, found that the Wifi and the BT would no longer enable. Wifi would come up with a "Error!" when attempting to enable. BT would just sit there for a while and then go back to being disabled.
Thinking this was just a Radio / ROM issue i flashed back to stock and erased the DATA partition and Cache. Back on the latest Telstra Stock ROM the same thing happened. I thought after a bit of investigation that this would be more of a hardware issue than a software / firmware one. Opened the Desire only to find the WIFI and BT module had a huge crack in it
So in short i need to replace the upper PCB board on the Desire, does anyone know where these can be sourced?
whoa! Not good... question - wasn't / isn't your Desire under warranty? If I were you I would send it back and get it fixed.. spares are going to be almost impossbile to source unless you hop onto ebay and get one with a smashed screen...
Good luck with it though

I don't know about warranty in this case, but im sure by opening the unit is some way doesn't that void the warranty?

Pretty sure it does matey, depending on where you live... unless you did the hair-dryer trick to remove the warraty sticker first... but that would then be down to tour conscience.....
I got the same problem. How can a software update damage the hardware? That should be impossible

i.e. Solution for bricked wifi (after applying 2.10.405.2 update to a debranded phone) if you did not use your goldcard:
i) Put the goldcard back in the phone, download the update from the htc website: Download Link
ii) rename that to update.zip and place on the root of your sd card (the goldcard!)
iii) Apply the update.zip just as you would have for the froyo update
and your wi-fi works again!

I kind wish it was a software issue now :-(
Sd card stopped reading on g2 and I've tried the following:
Used different sd cards, still nothing detecting.
And sd card reads fine on my computer via card reader
Tried a master reset
My question is since its still under warranty and this model I have has been rooted with s off, will they charge me for the full replacement fee? I've already called tmobile to get a replacement. Phone works fine its just not reading the sd cards I place in the slots.
Its not under warranty if you rooted it....that being said its up to you. I dont think they have time to check. they just wipe em check hardware and see if they should refurb or trash.

That sucks, you can use fastboot to apply update.zip files so I would try that(maybe get a brick and say it was from the update)

I understand that its against warranty if the phone is rooted but the cause of the SD read isn't a software issue its a hardware issue. With that being said I've been doing some research and it seems that its better if i somehow brick the phone, but I did call them up today, or well the tmobile sales rep did and told them that the sd card wasn't being read. Has anyone used warranty on a rooted phone?
Also is there a way to unroot without being able to use the SD card?
Not wanting to postwhore, but I turned off the phone and left it there off for a good 15 minutes, then rebooted and somehow the sd card's reading atm so now going to follow these steps to unroot the phone before returning it.

One could argue that the non approved software broke the hardware.... just sayin......

True but seems like i'm the only one with this particular issue. I don't see how rooting my phone would lead to an SD card reading malfunction. Both of which are unrelated..
i have not tried it since i don't have a problem with my sdcard reader, but the fastboot binary has an option to apply a zip file via the terminal on your computer. so as long as you can read and do a little research you should be ok to try it(worst case you brick your phone and you're done)
update*
I sent in my phone even though it was perma-rooted, and got tmobile to replace it free of charge. Not sure how that worked out but phone's been fully functional since.
Due to the issues in my other post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24049918#post24049918)
I'm likely going to have to return my phone. And because I can't get any computer to recognize the phone, I can't de-root/re-lock the phone.
I'm wondering if anyone's heard what happens when a rooted/unlocked phone is returned. I know it voids warranty - I'm just wondering if anybody's ever tried and gotten away with it.
Try this

Wow mobile Odin....now I think I have seen everything in terms of apps. I never thought I would see an app for odin.
Great idea - thanks!
I must admit, I don't really understand how to use ODIN - I've read their website and the XDAforums page on it, and I'm still a bit confused.
How do I find the firmware files to flash on to the phone? They don't seem to be included. And once I find them, how do I get them on to the SD card?
If I'm not mistaken, can you even remove the SD card from the phone?

I wouldn't have a clue for your former question but for this, there isn't a physical SD card in the Galaxy Nexus, just a virtual SD card that is really just a partition.

Nope - no physical SD card in our Gnex
You could use Airdroid for example to get the files on your "sd card"
edit: never used Odin - but I THINK these are the images you're after: http://code.google.com/intl/nl-NL/android/nexus/images.html
You could try chain fires other app supersu which can perminatly unroot your phone. Dont think you can relock bootloader without a PC though https://play.google.com/store/search?q=supersu&c=apps
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
No matter how much flashing you do from the device, you must have a computer to actually re-lock it once it's stock. So without a computer, you won't be able to fully lock it again sadly.

I think its simply
"You're not doing it right"
You've had it connect when it wasn't rooted so its probably a driver issue on your computer.
use dropbox or a bluetooth connection to your computer to get the files onto the phone.

So, I stupidly upgraded my tablet to KitKat a while back and now my SD card is rendered useless. I don't want to root because I don't want it to be a brick, so what should I do now?
I bought a 16GB tablet because my plan was to save everything on my SD card....

Hi,
You don't say which model you own ??
If it is a SM-P605 you can root it with TowelRoot without problem nor risk.
Once rooted you can install SDFix from Google Play to recover the use of your external SD.

Kit-Kat has restricted the access to the External SD to Read-Only for the external app's.
The system App's can still write on it.
This can changed with the above mentionned app but it needs root.

Yes but we need to know which model: Wifi only (SM-P600) or Wifi + 3G (SM-P601) or Wifi +LTE (SM-P605)
Only the P605 can be rooted without tripping Knox.
If you dont want to root Just save your files to internal memory and move them to wherever you want on the external sd card using the stock my files app. Its not just the note. Every android tablet that runs KitKat has the same behavior.
