Hello,i was wondering if anyone of you using stock nougat rom and could give me camera apk file? I want to install it in rr rom you can use ,,app extractor" from Google play

I suppose, it won't work without libraries.
and the Oscar goes to...
Is there a way to get stock camera on custom ROM, like LineageOS?
To put this to rest, it won't work
Sorry for asking, but let's talk geek.
I assume this has been attempted before, so where's the issue? I guess a single apk won't work and you will need some dependencies and such. Are those too deep and difficult to find/separate?
I'm pretty sure you need zui framework to make stock camera work, it just not worth the effort after stock blobs was ported.

for Instagram use a combo of Open Camera and Square InstaPic....and it's and upstream issue....once it's fixed it will be fixed...and team Octos is pretty close...and it would help if Samsung sent the US Variant and Official TW Lollipop update...by the time Samsung does send a update our way (if they do) the camera might already be fixed..
This is a simple tutorial for those on there who really want a fully functional Google Camera without needing to install a ported version or buggy version just to get away from the glitchy green flickering while recording video or who want a slight increase in quality and usability. It's simple, to begin all you will need are the following to get started.
1. Official TWRP Recovery installed and functional.
2. A LineageOS based ROM to install (E.g. LineageOS, Resurrection Remix, etc).
3. A specific GApps package is required for this step. Navigate to here: https://opengapps.org and make sure you have selected "ARM64" for "Platform". Now select your Android version and make sure you select Stock GApps package and above (Very Important!) (Optional: Aroma Package can also be used but was avoided in this tutorial.) The reason I asked you to install the stock package and above is because the stock default camera (AOSP Camera) is replaced with the Google Camera upon GApps install.
(Recommendation: If you prefer a pixel like device like I do with all stock AOSP based apps replaced with Google apps then install the "Super" GApps from opengapps.org).
4. Backup any important data before proceeding.
5. Wipe the appropriate partitions in TWRP.
6. Flash your ROM of choice + GApps.
7. Done!
I know that most advanced users already knew this was possible I just thought I would create this for the non-technical savvy folk. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy your new Google Camera!
I think this gcam have no hdr+ mode
All of this for... gcam without hdr+? What's the point?

For people like me that don't like the stock AOSP apps like the camera, and prefer Google apps? I thought that much was obvious.

Sorry, didn't want to say anything wrong, but losing ability to shoot in 4k 60fps and all other video modes, ability to use second camera for 9+ users.. All of this for NOT- fully working Google camera? Sorry, but this doesn't sound practical. Plus, that old version can be easily installed on any device.
The main problem is the misleading thread title. All users would expect fully working Google camera with the most important feature - HDR+.

agreed. I actually am not a fan of Google camera UI and only use it for HDR+ (it's the best) and have been waiting for a functional port as well.

I have a Nubia Z18 mini with Phh-Treble ROM, everything works except the camera but the original ROM really suck so I'm trying to make the camera work on this one.
The issue is already reported and is seems to be a library issue so I was wondering if copying the necessary libraries from the original ROM would work? How do I find out what I need and how do I actually do it? Any help with this is very appreciated.
Hello,
I ve installed lineageos 15.1 on my Xperia xa2 and its running smooth and very good at all but I would like it to have the stock sony camera app from xa2 installed instead of the lineage camera
So my question does someone know how you can install this?
Apk installation doesn't work...
So I know magisk has some modules that let you install sony stuff. I currently use Sony's music player, but I have never used the camera. You could try sony-framework, that might let it work. There are also a few other options there, like xmlpack. Something might help you there.
Ok, and what kind of module shout I use for this reason?
So I got the framework installed but can't install the apk...
But thanks for the answer I keep trying

You need to open up the sony's main camera app and the apps it needs and then look which parts of the framework and vendor it needs, assuming you are not running a treble lineage os (where you keep the stock vendor) you'll have to do a lot of work
Yeah I gave up and saw that the xa2 got a new official update, so I'm running stock os again with the camera ^^ don't know if it's just in my head but I think the update gave a bit more performance
At this point, there are several ROMs with OOS camera, and a few without. The ones without, there are camera versions you can install but they don't have the auxiliary cameras available. At least not on EvolutionX. I can't seem to find any way to make them work either. I've tried several app versions and obtained a very recent OOS 13 fingerprint and setup device simulation props, and only the primary camera is detected. I even went as far as trying to use an installer for older OOS camera apps with a current OOS camera app, but I can't get it working. Tried looking at the CRDroid files and I can't see what they did either. I'm not a programmer nor an expert with ROMs but from what I can gather, I'd just need the right system or system_ext files, and maybe a particular app version, then I don't see why I couldn't compile a Magisk module similar to others I've found.
I would be interested too, nice question man
+1 from my side!
The final answer is NO.
OOS camera requires tons of OS side changes. Installing just the APK won't work at all. Porting an OOS camera to custom ROMs was already a mess and a complex thing.
The ROMs that don't include the OOS camera require additional commits/changes.
