Remove warning splashscreen (after unlocking BL) - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
Is there a way to remove, or change, the warning splashscreen, the one after unlocking BL?
Thanks!

This has been answered a hundred times already. No, it can't be done

Hey there, not really sure, but this must be the right place to ask for some help..
Being a professional bugger, I have managed to accomplish the impossible... I think I have flashes 1 more Asus logo to my device. Now I got 1 warning, 2asus logos, and the rom logo.
Can someone share a method so I can remove them?

I’m not sure whatsapp you have done, but I can say that it should be normal. The first ASUS logo, I think, is loaded by the Google alert of a modified / unsigned system partition, and the second is loaded by the ASUS bootloader.
My Zenfone do it as well, but is not a question of flashing more than one splash screen, I’m sure.

Ahah thanks for the information, it must be as you say..
But, is there any way to remove them?
I think that it is possible to remove the warning, downgrading and upgrading all over again..
I have tried to remove the img files, but they come up again after reboot.
If there are commands to flash them, i think that there must be some sort of command to "unflash", or some file i could eddit, so the OS does not require to load them.

Just fixed my 5x yesterday! Rooted it etc right out of the box and, presto, that warning. I'm having trouble with the link though. Here goes...
Or not. There's a thread with a flashable zip in here. I just Googled "corruption bootloader warning" sans the quotes and there it was.

nope. That warning will appear on devices with an unlocked bootloader. The only way around it is to re-lock the bootloader or cover it up with a bootloader skin like the material design one available on this site

No. In fact someone put up a bounty to get ride of it.

Well. i didt lock my bootloader and it is till there.
i am not talking about ""Your device software can't be checked for corruption. Please lock the bootloader." (Orange)"
but about this one:" Your device is corrupt. It can't be trusted and may not work properly." (Red)"

Ah. Sorry, I misunderstood the error you were getting. I believe that second one is due to a mismatch between the particular rom you are running and the vendor version. If you flashed back to stock using the latest stock images, I'm not sure why you are getting it as the vendor version should match (unless something else went wrong during the flash).

New Google Logo on bootloader

Hey. I saw that on Nexus 5 someone made bootloader themes, and the new Google Logo on boot. I guess that it isn't so hard to port it. So, can someone make this?
If there are any spelling mistakes, I apologise

No, this is not possible, that mod relies on the imgdata partition that the nexus 7 does not have, not a single nexus tablet has that partition.
So editing the bootloader isn't possible?

Editing the bootloader is definitely possible however, flashing a modified bootloader will not work because fastboot will not allow you to flash a bootloader that's not the same as the original and even if you managed to bypass this, qualcomm secure boot will block it too!
Thanks for info. Right now i am trying to edit the bootloader, and then pack it as a flashable ZIP.
Wish me luck!
There is no unbricking method for this device. A modified bootloader will brick it.

It's not worth it to modify the bootloader for something this simple. There is a very high risk of bricking the device.

Getting rid of the Unlocked bootloader message

Hello,
I wanted to ask if there is a way to remove the unlocked bootloader message. I find this message very annoying and ugly. On my older OnePlus X there was a way to get rid of this message, so I thought that there might be a way on the OnePlus 5T.
Yes, simply re-lock the bootloader and it's gone.

No way. The price to pay for benefits of root...
I don't think you can do it unless you want to risk a hard brick.
On the phones I know of if it being eliminated its not actually eliminated, its just hidden. The message is replaced with an image of something else.
Here is an example utility (Nexus 5X)
Just looks like the boot image needs unpacked, modified, repacked, and flashed?
well, you can change it by flashing splash image... see in Moto G5s plus thread there is a solution....

No, it works differently in the OP5T. I don't think it's possible on our device. There's already a thread about this somewhere that explains it in more detail.

Yes because on the Moto this very message is a graphic in a separate partition. On the OP it's baked into the bootloader. Since this is the thing that's also signed with private keys etc., it's (as of today and someone else finds a way) impossible to change.

No they're not, not really. They're modifying dumps of the imgdata partition, which is flashed as part of the factory bootloader.img but it's not an actively run bootloader partition (like aboot, xbl, sbl, etc are), and so not verified the same on-device and can be changed without bricking the device.

You should use the Questions & Answers section. This is for original development only
There is no way as the bootloader is locked down. There was some guy claiming to be able to do this but it was just a hoax or a developer not knowing enough on this topic.
For the bootanimation there should be a bootanimation.zip in /system/media. That needs to be replaced.
Thanks and sorry if i putted this topic here
I will have always this **** when i boot it up so, damn oneplus

I just got the OnePlus 5T, my understanding is it's the same on this phone as some others, the boot loader message is low level, more like in the boot image, and the bootanimation.zip is just the splash images.

Ahh my bad...
You have to sign boot.img and recovery.img to remove the warning.
I have managed to eliminate it by signing those two images.
In my oneplus 5 and 5t I have twrp installed and with rom lineageos without warning.
Who wants to try to send me your boot and recovery and return it for you to try.
Remember that you have to close the bootloader whereby the phone will be wipe
Process:
fastboot oem unlock
unlock bootloader
You have to go back to fastboot mode
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot recovery recovery_name.img
fastboot oem lock
Wuala
It can be done in any rom from firmware 5.1.5

Because no, you avoid the annoying message, you enjoy your own kernel and the recovery you want, do you mean that you are going to send some malicious files?
I've been with Android for many years to get my reputation for it. : =

Of course, that's the idea of locking the bootloader again to avoid the message.
Try locking it with a boot.img or recovery that is not signed to see what happens
my getprop
[ro.boot.verifiedbootstate]: [green]
bootloader locked+boot signed NO WARNING MESSAGE
[ro.boot.verifiedbootstate]: [orange]
bootloader unlocked+boot unsigned WARNING MESSAGE
[ro.boot.verifiedbootstate]: [red]
bootloader locked+boot unsigned SYSTEM CORRUPT, NOT BOOT
So you need to have the bootloader unlocked if you have already put any rom, any boot or any recovery on your phone?
The bootloader can not be edited but to avoid the warning message if boots and recoverys can be signed

I understand these things, but are you asking, or telling?
People want to keep the bootloader unlocked to hack on their phones, and locking it defeats this purpose.
The post is about trying to keep the bootloader unlocked and remove the message, but as I mentioned before, it's my understanding it's deep within the bootloader process, not an easy thing to get at, hack away. Also it seems, because of some Google Policy it's pushing on the phone manufacturers to have, as a requirement to their agreement with Google, at least it's what I've come to understand.

I am saying.
But people do not need to have the bootloader unlocked to hack their phones. In fact I do not want to be hacked, but I do want to modify my boots to add things to the system. and also get not having the message at the start of the system
An example that for example I want
I would like to have the kernel blur but if I put it I have the warning message.
Solution:
I sign the blur kernel, I install it I close the bootloader and I have the kernel working and I do not have a warning message
Does not it help you to autopirate your phone?

I could now have oxygen os 5.1.5 or higher with modified kernel, recovery twrp, add xposed modules and closed bootloader.
It's not useful?

Well, it's always been my understanding, that if someone is always tinkering, playing with their phone, constantly flashing roms, kernels, etc., then keeping the bootloader unlocked is simpler.
I personally just got the OnePlus 5T, so I don't know if it's doing something different here over other devices, where you can simply lock it on a custom rom and have it boot ok.
It's suppose to be from my understanding that some devices you can lock it, and everything works ok, and other devices, where if you lock it, it wipes all data and encrypts it over, then the rom boots up all wiped, and I'm talking Internal Storage all gone, everything wiped, not a situation good. Locking bootloader on some devices means, loose all data.
So the safest route amongst all devices is to simply leave it unclocked, and getting hacked by someone with an unlocked bootloader, isn't very likely to happen.

Sorry but I think you do not understand.
Your unlocked bootloader phone is vulnerable since it is ready for any option.
Mine to have it closed my data is safe because if someone opens it is completely deleted.
My phone with a oneplus recovery stock signed by me and a custom boot plus system modifications and closed bootloader is completely safe.

Sorry for any misunderstanding, I understand about the bootloader.
My mistake, I wasn't paying attention that you signed your own image. Did you sign both the recovery and boot?
Now you signed the images, but you locked the bootloader and it's my understanding that if signed, you could get rid of the message and still leave it unlocked. So with your signed images, can you leave it unlocked and the message is gone?

Exactly, now you understand it. I sign boot.img and recovery.img and with that I can close the bootloader and the message disappears. That's what you see in the video.
Install twrp signed by me, lineageos latest version, extract by boot.img and sign it, so at the end of the whole I integrate the boot.img and then I close the bootloader
I have put lineageos to put something, but I create my own systems

Bricked or not bricked, that is the question

Weird screen behavior, it seem to me that it isn't a hardware fault, cause when plugging in a charger the phone is able to show the MI logo, but not the charging icon
The phone is able to boot and i can hear the phone locking and unlocking, can see that the screen is on because of the backlight, but there is no image, SO FRUSTRATING!!
If you have any idea of what's going on and can give me a tip, i would thank you so much, the phone has been on this state for a long time
Don't know how to upload videos, if you think that can help diagnose it i can upload it and share a link or something

I hadnt updated my Rom, Pixel experience, in a while, so i took the opportunity and flashed an (at the time) beta Pixel Experience Android 10, i reverted and everything was fine for about one day i think, then some artifacting wich would come and go until the display gived up completly (about an hour between the two)
Yes, it is unlocked, and when in fastboot/recovery the screen is lighted up but not showing anything
My guess is that i have a low level firmware issue, as i had problem with those before (was running a custom ROM from day 1, so i had to manually update firware to use newer versions of PE (still pie version) and almost bricked my device

Then try the next:
- Flash a different vendor.
- Flash a different kernel.
- Revert to stock ROM, no need to lock or nothing, just flash first the recovery ROM but if it doesn't result then flash the fastboot ROM through EDL, so that you know you can boot to EDL mode without need to open the back cover, this will restore all the original images.

You can flash some images invoking the right partition, I mean, you can flash vendor image onto the vendor partition using
Code:
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
, and in case you need to flash all the ROM you should use MiFlash tool

Yes, that is correct, i can see the fastboot screen 100%, no artifacts, just plain working, still no recovery (if i remember right i have orange fox) or ROM screen

I actually want to check that, i took the phone to a tecnitician and he may have locked the bootloader
I think the next step would be flashing the vendor, firmwares and stock rom again, right?

if your bootloader is locked, you can't flash through fastboot mode either vendor or stock ROM, you should need to use EDL method or you can re-unlock bootloader and this way will work. Anyway i don't understand what actually your issue is.

The issue is the display not working, and it's gotta be a firmware issue as it's on my desk right now showing a bunny, also i am not used to fastboot flash anything, i just was used to recoveries and what not
Just runned some code and it's locked, this is getting better and better oh boy
How am i gonna unlock this if i can't even unlock the phone? last time with screen working it was already a nightmare, having to wait for miui account, do i have any method of doing this without using EDL?

Well, this make sense although it's not clear if you did unlock it previously and after that at some time you did lock it again.
If you didn't unlock it previously you would need to bind your Mi account to the device and enable USB debugging and OEM unlock options but if you didn't before without a screen working you have a more difficult way, confirm me if that is the case.
Anyway I got happily surprised when I bought this device some months ago at the first attempt I could unlock it without have to wait time, try it and see what happen.

It was unloked and i locked again, don't know if this helps my case or if i am royally screwed up
And yeah, Xioami does make difficult to do the process of unlocking but only to recently released devices, aparently to stop re-sellers to buy the cheaper chinese rom and put the global version on them, i think that when a device doenst get made anymore makes sense that they would make it more easy (i bought the device 2 weeks after launch)

Ok, of course this makes a huge difference, if you did unlock it previously then you couldn't receive any wait time, I wonder why you didn't try it if you didn 't. Check if MiUnlock tool unlock your device instantly.

Hmm, OK, now you have your way sorted out, you can try with a custom ROM (all of them contain a vendor) or in case a custom ROM doesn't solve it you have to try a stock ROM through Mi Flash tool.

Ok, but how am i gonna flash a rom with fastboot? Is that a thing?
Also, i don't think the vendor is gonna be my only problem, but also the firmware, is there a way to flash firmware without the recovery and trough fastboot?

You can't be sure of that, sometimes the vendor correct the issue, sometimes the firmware.
Firmware it is in the stock ROM that can be flashed either through fastboot or EDL mode (be careful to not relock bootloader or you couldn't enable this time OEM unlock option). Now that you have the way more clear just do a search "how to flash stock ROM on Xiaomi devices either through fastboot or EDL mode", just keep in mind that you don't need to open the back cover of the device, usually from a device off (only on unlocked ones) you could send it to EDL by pressing both volume buttons at same time that it is connected to PC, I gave you the main tips, for the rest you will find a lot of tutorials.
