File Extension Problem - Micromax Canvas A1

Hello Mates !!!
I am using this Sprout4 since 2(more) years and now I am facing several problems. The list is long but I wanna keep it short as all these problem caused by same reason.
I love this phone as I love to switch between lot of available ROMs(tell me if you want ROM tester) and this is where it all started
Problems :
1. File Extension...
As mentioned above, my phone don't show me anything under any file category. For example if I open gallery it shows me up 0 photos videos found but actually I have thousands of photos and some video. If I go to compressed folder (ES File) it shows me Empty Folder but when I search for ".zip" it shows me up all zip files and same with photos (JPEG,jpg, gif)
I thought it's a bug in ROM and I simply flashed other ROM but problem continues. Then finally I came up to CM11 (most fine ROM as KitKat is love) but encountered same problem :'(
First it started with videos and no video was showing up in MX Player then with Photos and later with APKs and now with Zip files, don't wanna let it grow day by day.
Yesterday I flashed some ROM named Experia Z3 and it gave me feeling of Sony phones then I realized it's single sim then again I flashed CM11 today and now I can see some features of xperia in CM11 now.
It all means the Bug continues and some minor features continues to next ROM. So I guess the more ROMs I flash the more my phone will be ****ed up. And as I said above I love this phone coz of availability of lot of ROMs I don't wanna use same ROM for more then a month.
I think I have to flash Stock Firmware (KitKat 4.4.4) to avoid these problems and make new start but all these thing need a PC and unfortunately I don't have one :'( so guys help me if I can fix this without PC
SP Flash Tool will be last option :'(
Waiting for your suggestions
Thanx in advance?????

nandroid backup

Before we had perm root, I was using bloat freeze to stop all the useless bs that came with the phone. However, I uninstalled some things that were required for the phone to work properly. That didn’t bother me at the time since I was consonantly changing roms, but my sister wants to use this phone now and at the time, it's not properly functional. I did the stock nandroid back up to my sd card, but I lost my sd card (don’t ask) - I want to put the phone back to stock and make it a working phone again without getting the errors I get, such as phone.adroid.com (I think) and application not found errors, constant force closed errors, etc. Additionally, whatever rom I flash doesn’t seem to play flash videos, it's only playing the audio and no video. Where can I get a stock nandroid back up from? Tried searching but no avail, any help would be appreciated it.
Thanks fellas.
I personally don't know where you can find a stock ROM.
I'm sure there are copies floating around the internet.
Just wait until someone with a bit more knowledge on the subject stumbles upon this.
I would imagine there is an original image, much like the IPSW files for iDevices.
just run the RUU..

check the following at your own risk
if you are Rooted visit this link http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/0...-gingerbread-update-for-htc-incredible-2-leak please recheck the link . it includes a Root Friendly Ginger bread update [ leaked ] v2.3.3 . its a repack + Root + super user + busy box
the page has 2 Roms , one Root Friendly link is http://www.multiupload.com/350YP06TW5 please recheck the link , and the other one is unrooted ( signed RUU ) so be careful.
Please note i did not try this update . Also it includes a Radio 1.09.01.0622 ( this is the old Radio ) ,so be careful
if you are not rooted , i tested the following myself and its OK , visit this link http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/0...8-605-4-same-as-the-official-gingerbread-ota/ . it is a leaked official RUU from Verizon with the build number 2.18.605.4 android v2.3.3 .
you can search for other singed rom if you like , But don't use one with android v2.3.4 ( i.e boot loader .98 ) because that boot loader is not supported for root

Xperia Pro - CM9 Installaion issues

I am trying to install CM9 on my Xperia Pro. When I flash with CM9 ROM, the phone is not booting up.
Then I have tried to install CM7.2 which is working fine. But in CM7.2 I found that phone volume is very less. I can hear the ring sound when it is in my pocket.
I bought ROM Manager Premium and then tried installing different versions (downloaded ROMs from XDA Developers forum and other websites, may be same versions with different file name) of CM9. Whatever the ROM I have tried, the phone is not booting. It is stopping at initial Free Xperia Project Logo. Even if I wait for 30 minutes, it is staying in the same screen. I have to remove the battery and restart the phone and then switch back to CM7.2.
I have attached screenshots of my phone details. Kindly help me installing in CM9 or any other ICS ROM on my phone. The worst part is, I cannot repair the phone using Sony Ericsson PC Companion as it says, phone cannot be updated because the phone contains modified software.
I am a newbie for Android. Please help me installing in CM9 or any other ICS ROM
Hello.
I think that your problem is the different boot.img .
First of all you have to flash the new boot.img via fastboot (you can found it in your android-sdk folder. otherwise just download it.
After flashing this new boot.img (you can find this img in the *.zip file of the ROM)
you have to enter clockworkmod-recovery (at boot hold volume down or tap it some time).
Next would be deleting data, dalvic and installing your new ROM.
Hope this will help you.

[Q] Photo preview failure of Android Revolution HD 7.1.0

Dear All,
First of all, have to thanks for mike's cool contribution for captioned rom. :good:
Basically all the features in this rom are working great except one, the default photo/image viewer is not working. Photos are supposed to be shown on the little square at the camera mode after shoot, right? But it just keeps showing the last photo which taken from the previous unrooted stock rom, no matter how many pics i take. Moreover, those newly took photos can only be found by using Root explorer or ES explorer under the same DCIM folder in sdcard. I did tried to search from those previous discusses but got no luck, it seems only happened to some users once back in ARHD 5.X.X, and the solution from that thread is unable to fix the said issue. I have follow the flashing instructions like full wipe, processed superwipe, processed 'install-boot-windows.bat', flash the rom and tried to check all and non of the add-on options at the installation, tried to reboot the device several times, however the captioned issue still persisted.
Sorry for my poor english and lengthy content, really hope someone can help as i started to use mike's developments since my second HTC device - incredible s. Really love his works!
Thanks and Regards,
Man Cheng from Hong Kong

Jellybean won't me access most folders via USB (and gallery)

Note: I originally posted this on AndoridCentral, but ran out of help over there.. Hoping the brilliant folks at XDA could help me Here is a link to my original thread if you are interested: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...t-me-access-most-folders-via-usb-gallery.html
This originally happened on June 29th when the Vicious Liquid Rom (for CDMA/Verizon) came out. - I flashed the jellybean Rom when it came out, and have been having this problem. When I connect my phone via USB, I can only see about 5 folders, most are missing. Also, when I go to my gallery through my phone, my photos do not show up, but when I use root explorer or ES File Explorer, I can find them that way and access them. I've tried turning on/off USB debugging a billion times.
They are all still on my phone.. It shows my phone has 3.5 gigs of free space (so obviously, it's mostly used up)....
I can only see 6 folders:
Pictures
Notifications
MNT
Download
DCIM
After Focus
I also figured out that I can load the files onto my computer using ADB, so Ioaded all of my photos/videos off. A few days ago, I decided to try the Bugless Beast Rom, so I did a full wipe, and the same thing is happening. Also, I can not see any of the photos I took from the Vicious Liquid Rom, only the photos I have taken since I flashed the newest rom.

Anyone? Bueller?
happened to me, Use nandroid back up. The ext/sd is somehow corrupted.
This has been discussed before and nobody has a definite answer/fix for us.
Couple of threads on the matter
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1775598
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1748326
My post on Bixie's ROM thread, there's a couple of suggestions afterwards
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28254742#post28254742
Seems like it has to do with the fact that a new mount point is created ( /sdcard0 ) and therefore /sdcard is not being mounted which is where all the media has been previously stored.
Good luck and let us know of your progress if any
I've tried everything.. Do you think it would fix by me putting the phone back to stock (locking and unroot) and then unlocking and rooting again?
EDIT: Yes, it worked. I had to unload all my photos and everything.. then I re-locked and unrooted.. The locked and unrooted again and re-flashed Jellybean.. All is well.

Need Testers! (UPDATED 1-11-2017)

Note: This should go without saying since this is a very early beta build, but I'm not responsible for any direct, or indirect damage done to any phone or accessories from flashing/ using this rom.
Also please read the entire op before installing/posting.
Welcome to:
THE ARKO PROJECT
About the Rom:
I started this whole project when I had a G5, and development was still slow. I met someone who was kind enough to get me started, and give me the basic info I needed to start my journey in development. I had always wondered if I could, but never really knew where to start.
Seeing the lack of development for such a great device. I decided to take matters into my own hands (however inexperienced they may be). So far I've created basic tweaked stock roms for the G5 & G Stylo. I never released them however because I didn't make it too far. Because the devices ended up being damged (which is unusual for me).
Anyway that brings us to here & now. This rom is also very basic (for now). I plan however to add as many features as possible & plausible. While keeping it fast, smooth, and reliable. Rest assured I test every build for at least a couple of days before posting them here. Anyway onto the good stuff.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head but there is more.
I also plan to make a few color ui themes as well.
For example

Etc. Etc.
Feel free to request different colors as well (doesn't mean it will neccesarily happen, but you can ask
Install instructions:
*Make sure the version of TWRP you are using supports updater-scripts! This is very important! If it doesn't the rom will not flash! I'm using the latest version of multirom TWRP, and can confirm the rom flashes just fine.
1. Make a TWRP backup (optional, but heavily suggested)
2. Download and place zip on sd card
3. Do a full wipe
4. Install zip
5.Enjoy
Note: updates are disabled two minutes after booting the rom. No user action is required. The old method I had tried didn't actually work. Got the ota again a week later. However it is 100% fixed now.

I don't know if this would work since I have not really put much research in to it, but could you make the folder where the update is downloaded to read-only?

Probably not a good idea. Folder also has a few log files too. If all else fails then I'll give it a shot. I also had a thought that perhaps it isn't named anything like lgdmsclient.
After some sleep I've got a couple days off work so I'm gonna try to get multi rom working. (Haven't used it since kk early android L. That way I can just go down the list remove lg services apk's one by one and hope that either multirom or twrp could save me from a brick if anything goes wrong. Right now I have been using the delete update.zip/reboot. To keep the zip off my phone. Only problem is it takes a while for the system to realize an update is available after that. So It would be easier to remove an apk, build, flash, repeat until I find the culprit. MR will really help though as it'll save a lot of time between flashes. I really do appreciate the help/input though.
Also I've randomly found myself booted into twrp and the update try to install itself. Just luckily had zip verification on so it didn't flash.
Removed build.
