Is there a way to get for example the normal text messaging or music apps to work on the htc hero? Or the motorola messaging app (with the facebook inbox and stuff) to work on it? i went through all the possible roms today and loved the motorola messaging app. i also loved the stock android one too. also if its possible to change the default phone app? and maybe the contacts? i love everything else about the phone. haha. i know some people will be like why did you get a hero? well i really like those apps alot and i love my hero for every other reason. i do know how to use adb and everything. i have tried removing the stock messaging app and putting the stock android one and it doesnt appear. anyone got an idea?
do you have the motorola apps? I would like to test these on Hero.
I have them and would gladly post some, but there is an .odex file to go along with it. if u want to deodexize i think tis called the file then ill gladly post them for you. i just don't fully understand how to do that. i do however have the stock android apps without the .odex in them and it still does not work on the hero after removing the defualt messaging app. anyone got an thoughts onto how to do this? it would be great to have a htc hero mixed with motoblur rom.
That would be awesome! I would atleast like the Happenings app/widget from blur. =)
I'm currently on 4.2.2 by icebox, though I like the rom very much, I don't like android stock call screen. So just thinking to make it like stock sense 4.0.4 call screen. I've just started customizing the android app and still a learner, so just wanted to know guys if it is possible at all. Also if you can suggest me where to start with, this would be great. I know there are some apps available in the play store but I just want to customise the stock phone apk only. Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I'm on stock lg 4.1.2, no root or anything, is it possible for someone to develop a 4.2 stock messaging app for this phone? The one in the play store is from 4.1, and there isn't a quick reply or anything. I really love the look and feel of the stock messaging app, can anyone help me with this?

Hey!
For some time I have used stock HTC One X with Android 4.2.2 and HTC Sense 5.0. I`m a Exchange user and Emails in my day are very needed option. On the HTC the stock email app is just awesome. It serves me almost the quality as it was on BlackBerry`s... But now I`m using Samsung S3 with null_26 ROM and there is stock Samsung e-mail app, that in some kind a way does it`s job, but HTC`s app was still way better. So! What do I need or is it possible to get the HTC stock Email app working on my Samsung Galaxy S3. I do not have the options to get the emails apps apk , but I doubt that it will work if even I could just install the apk it self. So any info on this would be great!

Someone would have to painstakingly port the sense framework and app over for it to work on another device, very unlikely it will happen.

Sorry I've never used it, Just you search it & study by yourself it's compatible or not .
O you could try extracting out the apk from cm rom that's meant for your phone and get the email apk and install it on your phone
Hello all. I just ordered my HTC One M8 and will be receiving it shortly. I have never used an HTC device before. One main question I have is can you do individual text message tones for different contacts using the stock messaging app? I have used the Samsung Galaxy S4, which lets you do that, while my current phone (soon to be former phone) LG G2 does not do that. I understand that I can use any SMS app (I currently use Textra on the G2), but I would prefer just to use the stock app if it has that simple feature.Thanks.

You can't with the stock sms app, but you can do it with Chomp SMS.
I've used the app for years, it's worth a try.
