nobody gives a reply - Samsung Galaxy A3, A5, A7 (2017) Questions & Answe

We should have a new forum nobody replys here

I think elswhere the forum would also be slow. This is a nice decent device but not a dev-magnet.

They see your message, but pro probably they don't know answer.

Suggestion - please read, don't flame :)

Hi everybody,
I was not sure where to post this so I will just put it in here.
This is a suggestion that I thought of a long time ago, but today I've decided to post it somewhere.
XDA is an excellent forum, which I visit on a daily basis. Even before we had the nice portal it was still fun to go and visit our devices and see if anything new had come out.
The thing that I unfortunately can't use XDA for very well, unless I open countless threads asking people for help, is when deciding if I should buy a phone.
Everytime I want to read a review, I need to go and get it somewhere else. The problem with other peoples reviews is that they never take into account custom ROM's and the community behind them, so if the phone comes with crappy software out of the box, they might negatively rate something that is actually very good.
Lately I have been following the SG2 forum, as that device has made me dream again . Pretty, Powerful and another word starting with P that I can't think of, but when I want to see how good it is, or any review I either browse 100s of threads and try to understand what do people complain about, or I give up and go and search on the net for a review, which I still think does not take into account the potential of the device (example HD2, you will not find a review of it running android, hehe).
To summarize: I suggest that each forum dedicated to a phone could have a nice review in the sickies, done by a member and rated by the community.
And please I am aware of the wiki, but I still don't think it is enough, as it's mostly specs and other things, not actual usage comparison or review.
Let me know what you think.
Good day to you all
This is an interesting point...I know of a few other forums that have a dedicated review forum or review threads.
I'll pop it in the "suggestion box"
I'm still somewhat of a newbie to xda, but the idea sounds great. I usually jump around to 5 or six sites looking for reliable reviews.
Would be nice to have member reviews from multiple angles of usability.
Well I'm glad that you've liked it. I am looking forward to see future development and hopefully I will not have to use other review sites in the future .
Regards to all.
good idea
That's great, I think Xda with many ppls can send out the information of mobile products.
Hi everybody, first I want to thank the admin orb3000 for moving the thread, I searched for the right place for the post, but no suggestion folder for the forum, that is why I have posted in in general.
And now on topic, we need to start reviewing our phones so they have something to sticky.
So good luck to you all, and I am looking forward to the results.
With all the threads that pop up asking "should I get this", I had thought about doing the same thing but never acted on it....maybe its time that I did
Great suggestion, definitely not "flame worthy"

Help and respect

I myself am new here, and im amazed at how great this site is. I've gotten everything i could have ever asked from here and am so greatful for the Dev's here - Your work never goes unnoticed, thanks!
However, i've been noticing people who are just absolutely rude and explosive with some people's questions...
Im talking about:
"Did you even Google or Search the damn site before posting? I mean for Christ's Sake what is wrong with you people? Can't even do a damn Search. Learn how to do shiz on your own man. " ... For example
1) People do searches but dont end up finding what they want
2) Keywords make all the difference. Maybe a keyword was why they didn't find what they want.
3) They just didn't find what they wanted.
Now, if you usually look at the person who posted an "ignorant question", look how many posts they have.
Usually little, maybe 20 or less.
The posts will usually be questions
They just want help. Great people who help here.
But honestly, people tell me to come here for help, and i do. I get my help, thankfully.
I had a different account here before, where i was asking for a SPB Shell feature... I looked everywhere, couldn't find it. I was yelled at, and someone told me it was on i think page 76 of a thread, which i tried searching...
76 pages X 10 posts per page = 760 posts. i COULD HAVE missed it.
If you want to help, do so by all means. But consider where the person is comming from. Help them, but please don't be rude. Imagine what the effect it has on the person..
Thanks!
Yeah I remember once I wanted to share info on this mad smart phone case I bought and simply coz I didn't post pictures I got totally flamed...the troll didn't realize for me to be able to do that essentially I needed either two phones or one extra camera

This is a question, so should be in the "Q&A" forum, not here - although I'm sure a Mod will move it quickly enough.
I'm not going to answer your question as it took me less than 10 seconds and Google to find the answer - so I'm sure you can do the same.
Read the XDA Rules and search before asking ...
excuse me dear......
I had opened many tabs from different sub forum of here... and I mistaked about correct place...
please move it... thanks...
I had searched many in google... but i didn't find answer...

Exactly the same link I put under the word "Google" on my post - if the OP had been bothered to look.
I get pi$$ed off with people on here who claim to have searched - when it is so obvious that they haven't at all.
What it comes down to is they actually don't know how to word the search correctly so as to get a decent result.

Sir,
I know how to search and az I told I searched before open the topic :|
but it's obscure :|
read this page:
nfcworld.com/nfc-devices/motorola-droid-razr/
-----------------------
The Motorola Droid Razr has not been advertised as an NFC handset, but a teardown has revealed it carries an NXP PN544 NFC controller chip.
-----------------------
and comments that is it's below:
Q: Yea, but are we saying that with ICS the RAZR will have NFC enabled?
A: I don't think anyone knows the answer to that yet...
So........
you don't have to learn I do :|
but it's obscure, so I ask it

I think that you have answered your own question as well as anybody on XDA possibly can. Nobody knows - although the chip is in the phone, it may never be accessible to software, whether it is GB, ICS or JB.

So if I'm reading all of this correctly, you're magic 'Google search'(Complete with the extra douche topping of your little animated superiority video) produced no actual answers? God forbid that someone comes onto an Android developer's message board to find out if someone here has an inside scoop, so to speak.
Not everybody is as mighty with the Google as you are, not every Google search returns the same result. You have to word your searches correctly, and some people are bettet than others. It used to be that you came onto message boards and could ask a question like this and the answer would be 'Well, it looks like the phones have the proper hardware, but it's going to require an OS level bit of code before anyone can use it, and nobody has given an actual timeframe for when this will be done, if ever.'. Now, it's a bunch pf snarky A-holes trying to see who can deliver the killing blow.
It was a legitimate question, and this was a legitimate forum to post it in. Your special Google search still didn't really answer the question, and it didn't answer the question from the perspective of Android developers, who would be MY first resource if I were looking, too. If you don't like the question being asked, then for God's sake, don't read the fracking thing. There is no law of physics that dictats that you can't pass up a post on here without reading it. I don't really understand people like you who get their panties in a twist because someone posted a question on a message board. How did this question being posted here impact your life? Me, U can't stand condescending rude people, especially in places where people go for help, so I like to call them out on it.

I'm awfully sorry to have offended your sensibilities, but who the f**k do you think you are? You sign up to XDA and the very first post you put is to resurrect a thread that is 3 1/2 months old - not to contribute anything useful, but simply to try and pick a fight?
I actually commented on the OP predominantly because it was clearly in the wrong forum - that is what the Q&A or the device specific forums exist for.
I also ended the thread with;-
I think that you have answered your own question as well as anybody on XDA possibly can. Nobody knows - although the chip is in the phone, it may never be accessible to software, whether it is GB, ICS or JB.

which is no different to what you just posted. It is obvious that the OP doesn't use English as his first language, so trying to get all technical is of no use. The OP 'Thanked' me for my post, so he obviously had no problem with it, and he hasn't been back on here since as he is one of the many who sign up here, ask one question and are never seen again.
As for your comment about the XDA Noob Video, I didn't create that, but I personally feel that everyone who joins XDA should be forced to watch the entire thing and read the whole page of forum rules as well so that this place was able to keep to the goodness it has achieved and maybe lose a lot of the people who sign up nowadays simply to demand answers as they feel they are 'entitled' to an immediate response from people who help out on here for free in gaps from real life.
Righto, that's enough. Question answered, playtime over.
Closed.

'noob' unfriendly forum!

Ha, yes-it really is!! I love xda, find lots of great stuff, I buy the apps, blah, blah.. I even tried to comment(no reply). How many 'dislikes noobs' do I see lol!! I'm not hideously noobie & we all start somewhere right?! Kind of off putting to be honest..not really fair to those of us that like using the site-I wonder how many questions go unanswered..
Just my little rant.. disgruntled, female(aaargh!), noob..xx
Hehehehe..
If someone says he dislikes noobs. it is his personal opinion not of xda...
We at xda focus on helping everyone who needs it. (I too need help as m nt a developer)
So if some of the questions go unanswered ..belive the fact that either no one knows it or the one who knows it havent seen it yet
I know one of the member who was very rude ... bt he helped others alot (scolding them alongside to search first )
lol!

Thanks, was venting-just being female!! Onwards & upwards!
Hi xeexe,
As doctor_droid mentioned, sometimes questions can go unanswered purely because others don't know the answer OR it was buried in the forum too quickly and therefore more people, who may have been able to help, wouldn't have seen your thread.
Just like any other situation, whether it be on an internet forum or in real life, there'll always be those who are helpful and those who will ignore/moan at you asking a question. That's natural but there's generally more people around ready to help than there are to dislike you. Don't let it put you off though as this forum has a great community and you can learn a ton of new stuff from here aswell.
By the way, if you're still having the same issue with your phone I suggest editing your thread again so that the question is posted and then bump your thread up so that people will be able to see it at the top of the forum again

Thank you I ended up sorting out my 'issue' anyway but then you need to ask to have a post removed, do you? And could you?! My previous post-had an issue flashing roms but it's okay, I was being a noob, lol!
Yeah, I won't let it put me off, love the site-just over-sensitive I guess

In most cases threads won't actually be deleted but as the issue is resolved abd had no replies anyway, just report it by using the orange triangle on that post and ask for it to be deleted due to the above reasons

Okay, so since we have things resolved I'm making a noob friendly closure of this thread

Forum Double Notifications

Hi,
I'm subscribed to a few threads in which I'm participating here on XDA but when I'm quoted by someone I receive 1 email for being quoted on that thread and another for someone posting on it, both regarding the same post. This is quite terrible if you start a discussion on a couple threads. It would be great if someone in charge could take a look at this ASAP. Also, I think it would be great if people with the same problem dropped a line here as well.
Regards
