There is no N rom for this phone with battery life or stability even close to any stock KK or LP rom. All ROMs after LP are experimental and buggy to some degree. Also, since there is no official stock rom after LP, anything else would require a computer to unlock bl.
I would suggest flashing the MX ROM as far as I know this is the LP with best battery life now. It can be installed on locked bootloader and is as stable as stock LP.

Thanks for ur suggestion. Yes i know mx rom. Been reading the forum for a litle while. Worth to try
And not to forget that there are no security patches for stock LP since.... a long time. That is why a lot are using new roms although the battery life is not so great in comparison to stock roms.
Guys forget about MX rom! There is new ROM by munjeni out there. It is based on Lineage OS 14.1. It has decent battery life, good camera (almost like on stock), great stability, all security patches and is smooth like butter.

Im straight to it now
Thanks mate
yes, that rom from munjeni also looks the best for me. When I have time I will upgrade fom to Jaguar ROM to that one.
If you have stock KITKAT you CAN'T flash 5.1 or newer roms via recovery.
This is because from android L the partition scheme is changed, so you MUST use flashtool to flash first the stock LP ROM.
If you flash a LP rom via dual recovery in kitkat you'll brick your phone!
And I'm surprised that no one said it to you.
Once you flashed stock LP, rooted, installed REAL RECOVERY and unlocked bootloader, you can install any custom ROM.
If you don't unlock your bootloader you can flash ONLY STOCK BASED rom.
Cheers, and good luck. (I hope you didn't brick you phone)

Hi Guys,
I am running the .62 official rom and looking for a bloat/crap free ROM to use with my Arc-S. It is a bootloader locked and cannot be unlocked so I need a working rom.
ICS is too slow for me. I can install CWM with x-parts so that works, I have installed some custom ICS roms from CWM backup zips and it works but I can't find any for the GB.
I am hoping for a very rustic base rom with no crap installed. I found a few like X-Gamer but they require the .42 official rom first and I cannot find any working link for it.
Hoping someone can help, I have done quite a bit of searching and really looking to put an end to this journey!

Hmm... It is not possible to run jellybean/kitkat without unlocked bootloader, so you have no choice but to use ics ICS has awesome batery life BTW.
Have you tried Xperia ultimate hd by jader? Its not bad. It has aroma installer, so u can unselect those crappy apps.
Press thanks if i help^^
Glad to help:highfive:

1. You're not allowed to create threads that ask for fastest ROM, or "speedy ROM" as you put it. Please change thread title or a mod will close your thread.
2. Since you're on locked bootloader, you have no choice but to stick with stock based custom ROM. UHD is one good example. However, if it doesn't suit you, you will have to find out for yourself. None of the users or the developers can help you here since you're the one using the phone.
Please read this thread for more information:

ICS consumes more battery as a base ROM as compared to GB since it uses more resources and has more functions. Please do not give wrong information. The few ways to help ICS save battery are ROM tweaks, kernel tweaks and basic knowledge about maintaining your ROM to make it less power hungry.
If he prefers performance over functionality, GB will be a better choice for him.

Each ROM has it's pros and cons so you can't say for sure which ROM works best. Of course if you feel that it works fine, I have nothing to say since it's your phone.

Doesn't mean he cannot flash custom ROM. As long as the custom ROM is stock based and uses stock kernel he can flash it with no problems. He can easily use X-Parts to install recovery, flash any stock based custom ROM and use it. Locked bootloader does not allow unsigned kernel(a.k.a any custom kernel) to be flashed on the phone since only Sony can sign the kernels.

Hi,
I`m planing to downgrade to an official Sony Stock ICS ROM (& and strip the bloatware) to get all the features working (HDMI). I was planing to pair the stock sony ICS with a kernel like Lupus. Before doing this however I wanted to ask if anyone has a recomendation on which Stock ICS version to get because I remember reading that one of those was a major flaw.
Additionally I'd like to know if anyone has/did run stock ICS+custom kernel and could share his experience with speed/smoothness and such, because I remember running the LT18i_4.1.B.0.587 firmware before rooting my device some years ago and the whole system was so laggy ... which lead me to try custom ROMs first and evetually unlock the bootloeader and go for custom Kernels later.
Any other recomendations are welcome.

I believe the newest is the best you can get, which is 4.1.B.0.587. You can also try 4.1.B.1.13, but it is a branded firmware and may have some additional bloatware installed in it.
Thanks. I remember 4.1.B.0.587 was really laggy when running on stock "everything". I'll try it and see if I can get it running smoothly with a custom kernel...

Even with a custom kernel, stock 4.1.B.0.587 will still lag a lot because of all the bloatware Sony added inside.

That's just life. Sony gave us really crappy ICS firmware.
My friend has an xperia m single sim model running latest official firmware and its is very slow. Hangs quite often and takes 2 to 3 swipes to unlock the screen. So i thought ill flash the phone with a custom rom.
Im good with flashing phones and have done it a lot. I always do my research before flashing to get the best rom for the phone. But with this phone i am stuck. I dont think i have found a stable rom yet. I know i should not ask which is the best rom but still can someone suggest a rom which can be flashed to this phone.
The problem is that after i will be meeting my friend for a day and i cannot flash it for a long time. So i dont want to put a rom and then after few days he finds serious bugs.
So some suggestion please. I usually go for omnirom or cm11.Some advice regarding rom, kernel, recovery would help me a lot
Thanks

Try Latest build of CM11 FXP, that is most Stable Rom according to me.
I'd say it's latest build from FXP (it's 326 so far). No serious bug or annoying UI. go for it. :good:
i will go with cm11 then.Thank you guys one more doubt. Does cyandelta work with fxp builds?
Hello there, I'm currently using android revolution hd lollipop Rom so my firmware is 4. something, but I'm not overstruck on lollipop, I'm s-on, can I just flash a 4.4.4 Rom or is there more to it (I fancy flashing the viper Rom) sorry for being a noob lol
You can if you wish but if you've been using LeeDroid (good ROM) you might be using the new FW (4.16.401.10). If so, 4.4.4 ROMs won't work properly (things like WiFi will die)
Thank you my friend....yeah I'm on the 4.16 firmware, but do not like lollipop....so I'm stuck with it ....

Actually, ill take back the badness about lollipop, only owned this phone for two days, used lollipop on other phones, and its been sluggish and battery hungry, but HTC (and the legend @LeeDroid ) have created a nice rom, and the battery is very good, its actually not much different than kitkat
oh and @EddyOS thank you for your past roms you have posted, used to work in a phone shop, used to use your stock rooted roms on many many HTC phones respect mate!
No worries, been a long time since I made a ROM!
Hey guys!
So I have my Xperia M currently running on stock firmware 4.3. Although I am happy with the current firmware with the exception of the low internal storage problem but everything needs to be updated regularly
I joined XDA for the very reason so as to flash a custom ROM for my XM but trust me when I say that you are dealing with a complete noob who is just lost in all the jargon associated with flashing a custom ROM. It means that I will be in need of a detailed guide to help me boot my very first custom firmware :3
Here are some details -
Running stock 4.3 firmware
XM single sim
Bootloader can be unlocked (Need a tutorial to unlock bootloader too)
Device not rooted.
Can anybody help me with this? I'll be happy to read out any existing tutorial threads as such
I was also worried about the storgae limitation within the XM, anyway to bypass it by installing CM12? Also what process do you follow when you take a backup of your device while installing a new firmware?
I am just looking for a stable and beautiful firmware for my aging XM :fingers-crossed:
Thank you for reading!
