ok soo i dropped my Tilt 2 from a standing point (which is about 5 and a half feet since im 5'9) with the phones keyboard open and screens tilted, whats funny is that no battery fell out or anything, it just shuts off, i had to turn it back on.
when i shaked the phone i heard a slight rattle and i reckon its from the Flex Cable from the LCD screen, the rattle stops when i have my Tilt 2s keyboard open, but when i tilt the screen i can hear it slightly...is that normal?
also what is going to aggravate me for the rest of the time im going to own this phone is that when im using the phone's software keyboard on portrait at say like a 15 degree angle i can hear taps which is quite annoying but if i hold it at a 45 degree angle it stops, i turned the phone to the side i notice a gap, not a big one and not really noticeable but id say its roughly .5mm thick, i push the screen down and the gap gets smaller, is normal as well?
plz let me know thnx a lot
short answer.... no.... not normal. You knocked something loose inside hence the rattle, WHICH you probably already knew The gap, also not normal. Well wait.. I should correct myself. This is all probably totally normal for people who have dropped their phone. You're lucky you didn't crack your screen or do more damage and the phone's still usable!

hmm, well i talked to one Tilt 2 owner and he said he has that rattle and he hasnt dropped it? but like i mentioned, the rattle must be coming from that Flex cable that goes between the motherboard and the LCD screen....
No rattle and no gap on mine, but I've only had it 5 days. Give me time.
I have rattle too, but i think its the G-Sensor !

i did a couple of searches on PPC and some say its a normal thing especially in the tilted position? http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=87452 at least im not the only one! i just have OCD xD
heres a video of the screen problem im having
but its not as worse as his but you guys get the point
I just dropped my phone yesterday with keyboard out and tilted and I got a similar problem to this. My screen only has a gap when I pull it up, which I wasn't able to do before, but the screen slide is now about 1 or 2 cm's to the left causing it not to line up with the keyboard slide. Somewhat aggravating, but totally unnoticable unless your holding the phone. I don't get any rattle though...

well if i were to dismantle the phone and repair the little bridge that goes across the back of the LCD screen would that solve the issue? because it seems when i push on it it seems to fill a gap but idk if thats what causing the whole screen and kb issue but im going to do it when i have the chance
I have a tilt and mines exacly like the one in the video with the vary small gap and the screen wobble, I always assumed it was normal, mine dosent rattle though
that little gap and the screen wobble.
it just because is got movable parts, look at the screen hinges if i can call them that.
its the reason i didnt want to get mine, ive always chose candy bar phones so i dont worry about that.
but i did get me a tilt 2 and have dropped it too, i also think my wobbly screen started after i dropped it, but ive had it a year, since it first came out. the only thing i hate reall bad about this phone it the lack of a headphone jack I HATE THAT WITH A PASSION.
Hi,
did anybody has this? (see Picture)
Its on the bottom of the screen. I just noticed it while browsing a website in landscape mode.
That may be glue. And I hope it is not a similar problem OnePlus One owners are facing.

Hm, but where? Obviously not on the front Between the Glas and the Display itself?
But,i will check this again when the phone gets warm....
This happens to LCD panels, it could be a one off due to heat etc, or it could be the sign of a faulty panel.

If it is glue, it cam be solved, by putting the phone under UV light or under the sun for some time, and it will go away. Google it.
If this does not solve your problem, look for a replacement.

Hm. A couple of days I think. But I can't tell you exactly. It just disappeard after a while.
I'm pleased yours disappeared. Mine which is identical in both the place and shape has been on my G3 since I got it back in July.
It still gets darker the longer you have heat build up on the screen and when it's cooled down its faint again.
i dont have the same luck as you guys mine are getting bigger and darker i think i have a bad lcd DAMN i really love this phone.
Same issue here. Same color, same location, same size. Mine is invisible when the phone is cool. But when the phone heats up, the yellow is very visible.
Sorry guys, I forgot to come back here with an update.
Mine eventually disappeared last week after nearly 3 months.
I believe it is the glue.
Someone told me to try leaving the phone under UV lighting. I left mine in direct sunlight for when it was not being used. Seemed to cure it in a few days.
yellow spot all of a sudden!
I've updated my phone to lollipop v20e a couple of days ago. Today I noticed this little yellow spot in my phone. Coincidence or not I began to use NFC TAGS early this morning, can this be related using the NFC TAGS and having this function enabled?
yellow screen marks
I bought my LG G3 on the 20/07/14 and after 5 months of use I have a long yellow thick line across the top left of the screen. What makes this even more concerning is my cousin bought the same handset a week before me and his now also has a thick yellow line on the screen. There is nothing you can do to get rid of it and it is more pronounced against a white background.Looks more like screen burn. Both my cousin and I have contacted LG and we are having to send our handsets to them for repair.
I have never experienced this issue with any other handset i have owned. I was unhappy that i had the issue but even more pi$$ed off that my cousin has the same thing happening which tells me either it was a huge coincidence or that these things are not fit for purpose and more and more will be going wrong in the near future.
My handset has been well cared for and never dropped. I am a moderate user so this was even more of a surprise. While the LG is getting repaired I am using my Sony z2 work phone as my personal for now and I don't think I will be swapping back when I get my LG back.
Good luck to anyone who has this issue. My concern is the same thing will happen again and then it will be my problem as it will be outside of warranty.
Juan
i have it too in the up-right corner of the screen and it doesn't disappear... it just get darker with hot screen and softens when it cools down
Left-top corner
I also experiencing this issue for 2 months now. its a strip. and its getting longer day by day. once i tried screen burn app and 8 hours continuously screen on resulted in heated display. then, when i press that line temporary it disappears. so obviously its the glue. i'll try the direct sunlight thing. hope it'll resolve this case. it's really annoying
Thanks for the tips :fingers-crossed:

After 6-7 months of usage, same thing, in same place (upper right corner, don't dissapear - only getting bigger and darker on hot screen).
Took my phone to local warranty service, and after 1 week got call from this service - they told me, that service is REJECTED, because phone had physical damage! (WTF?!?!?!?! i haven't dropped it, and there is no crack's/spots of damage on phone!).
After telling them all this, and proposed that it may be glue, or faulty LCD/Overheat - they told me that LCD have crack from back side (?!?!?!LOL!?!?!?!).
Now i'm stuck deep in *ss, and don't know even what to do....
Anyone of you got solution to this problem?
Maybe contacting LG representives directly will help to solve this case?
10x.
help!!! direct sunlight?? kindly put the instructions pls
Hello,
I'm a new to this so don't be mean.
My nexus 7.2 receives a grayish blueish smudge right down on the bottom middle of the screen probably on the 3rd quarter of the screen. Every time I apply medium pressure to anywhere the on bottom half of the screen the discoloration happens. Is this normal?
Thanks
No, that's not normal. Only thing I could think to try would be to try a kernel that allows you to change color and hue of the screen. If that doesn't help it sounds like you either might need to find a new screen and do a self repair or send it off for a fixing. Can't recall anybody else ever mentioning that. Unless somebody else has a better idea though, I think that's your only two options.

Does it look like a light bleed or something? I realize you're new and they might not let you post pictures and stuff, but it's hard to say without seeing what the screen does.
It looks like pressure is accumulating upward at the single point, creating a grayish hue. I guess to be an example, when you press hard on an LCD there will be a rainbow hue next to or on the pressure point. But mine is always at a single spot.
Yeah, I think you have a display/hardware issue on your hands. I was just playing Dungeon Hunters last night in landscape and was hitting both sides of my screen pretty intensively and saw no color changes. If it's bad enough, you'll probably need to send it in for repair or try the DIY route. Sorry, not much else I can think of to help with your issue
Okay thank you for the input. I just have one more question, since the pressure seems to accumulatting in one spot, will that crack my screen? Because the color part is minor and I do not mind that slight discoloration. All I really care about is the chance that will crack my screen.

I doubt it, not unless you dropped it or something where you think you may have caused a weakness in the glass itself. You gotta remember, on all these device there are multiple layers to the glass itself. I'm guessing there might be a small defect in yours between two of those layers. Do you remember it happening after you did something or did it one day just start happening. If it's the latter, then definitely a manufacturing defect. If it's bad enough, if it were me I'd do some research and see how much it'd be to replace the screen. Depends on how long you were planning on keeping the tablet.
I broke my Nexus's screen and digitizer two weeks ago, I got it replaced by a company and that is when I noticed that grayish hue. Should I go back and ask them about it, because I plan to keep my tablet for a while. Also, as I said before I don't mind the color, I just want to know will my screen crack eventually from the increased (I'm guessing) pressure accumulating in that one spot.
I would definitely go ask them. Being that it is a replacement screen I'd go get either their professional opinion or another. Ideally ask them about it and then get another opinion. In a normal situation I'd say no to your screen possibly cracking, but there's something obviously wrong with the screen. I would say it shouldn't but I'd take it back and get a second opinion just to be on the safe side if it's not too much money.
Thank you for your replies.

Replacement digitizers are of various grades. There are those that work but didn't pass QC because of minor defects. These sell at lower prices. It's true that the LCD surface is harder to crack than the digitizer. But it lies on top of another much thinner layer that would crack as readily as the digitizer given undue pressure while handling it. The people who replaced should definitely be held accountable whether it's their fault or the manufacturer's. Hold them to it since if it's a tiny crack now, it's bound to expand with time..
All good here with Lollipop AOSP !!!

I went in and asked them about it. They told me since I broke it and had it repaired, not everything is going to be 100% and that funny looking grayish thing from pressure is the result of them putting in a new screen.
Would that grayish thing really cause my screen to crack? What should I do?

Well then, aren't they saying it's their doing that's causing it? I am not a technician, but I've replaced quite a few. I did it for fun, and a chance at learning what it's made of. Nothing you experienced was supposed to happen with a functional combo (even a B grade unit) , put in place carefully. They're supposed to have the necessary skills. They charged you for it. It doesn't cut it when their reply is that they don't measure up to the job, unless I'm missing something here.
Depending on the tape they used, removing the screen would more likely than not break it. But it's their responsibility. They chose the vendor, and they installed it, and now it has a defect. I'd contact the BBB if they refuse to fix it for free. It's an issue of implied warranty.

Hi guys
Can you check curved edges part of display near top and bottom portion to see when pressed with little pressure whether screen goes down ? Especially near front facing camera .
Thank You
Checked near the front camera area and yes ,the screen goes down a little upon pressing in the edges with little pressure.

I agree, it's not a major issue, I was thinking to take of the screen completley and reglue it using some duble sided tape... But there is a risk of breaking the screen in the proces... It's not worth it
What about putting duck tape across top and bottom of the screen? Don't forget to make holes for loudspeaker, front camera and proximity sensor. And for microphone and fingerprint at bottom
So, you're all saying that tbe whole screen is moving a bit in the case? Check teardown and you'll see that is actually glued. Not my favorite solution but I suppose is cost effective.

Bought a screen off eBay, yes you need to heat up the glue underneath the screen with a heat gun.
Got the new screen in after I had to remove all the small piece of glass that was still glued but it's not an easy repair and I still have screen issues I assume the screen isn't the same quality as the original one which comes with a silver backing plate.
In bright sunlight my screen turns blue
The battery maybe will never die, because a bigger LiPo much longer live as a small one and we just load again all 2 or 3 days. So that's ok that's build in. Maybe the screen is much earlier broken. Hope it doesn't broke
My battery has 3600mAh(3597)

I don't think that anyone is planning to drop the phone. Except maybe Turbo 2/Force.

I can confirm my phone has the same problem near the top left corner. It is so disappointing to see such a bad build quality.
If you observe carefully just above volume up button screen is not even inside the aluminum frame there is slight gap. And if you apply little pressure screen goes down. Is this normal ?

Hi, please see the picture and tell me if it's happened to you, the back glass not fitting correctly after only 3 months of normal use, no drop, and what do you suggest a solution? thank you.
I was just noticing this on mine a few days ago. But I cant remember if it was always this way. I noticed it after my phone got super hot from charging, at 1st I though it was the battery swelling. Device cares app says my battery is healthy. So idk but the seams seem to be consistent all around just wider than I thought they were.

Probably an adhesive failure/improper assembly. May or may not effect it's water/dust resistance.
Needs to be disassembled to be examined/ repaired.
Extreme heat weakens the adhesive bond of the strips used to secure the back panel. It's possible that careful heating and then pressing down could reseat it, but given the cost of the phone probably best to leave it to an experienced tech. Also the adhesive surface may have by now become contaminated with dust making simple attachment impossible without replacing the strip.
