Well, as I'm assuming the announcement will come either today (Monday) or tomorrow (Tuesday), I just had a few questions, since I've never pre-ordered a phone before. When you pre-order does that mean you can only receive it through the mail, or can I pre-order it online, and get it set aside for me at a local store?

The only pre-order I ever did (Droid X) can via fedex to my office. No option was given to get at the store.

the idea of preordering a phone is so that you receive it in the mail the same day it's available to buy in stores. maybe a little earlier if there's a mistake in shipping.

my payment was processed 5 days ago, again no confirmation about it, but when i check my cards history is not longer in pending status but transaction completed. so clove has my $$$
no mail to confirm that the package is on the way.
also how long was it until it was received ?

They should have sent you an email and instructions on how to verify your purchase. A couple security questions.

I ordered mine from Clove on Sunday, February 16. I then got the email about the document they needed for security. I replied immediately. When I woke up on Monday, I had two emails from them saying that the order was completed and another one with the shipping information. I chose the more expensive shipping option from DHL and am able to track every single step of the transit.

For those who have recieved it, were you charged any customs/duties fees?
Has anyone shipped one out to Canada from Clove? Debating ordering today!!
I ordered mine on Sunday evening 2.16.14 from Clove.UK, they asked for verification in email, I replied right away and got my Z1C today 2.19.14 at noon in USA with DHL. Great service.
No additional custom fees or anything, just the price I paid on Clove web site.

I got mine from handtec I actually preordered it in January and it shipped the day they got them in stock, its the second phone I ordered from them with no problems

nothing about security documents or shipping info. ordered on 14, payment fully processed on 16th. i chose DHL on checkout too. i guess i need to mail them about it .. as you guys got it in few days.
i ordered black model, they report only the lime one to be out of stock.
I ordered my black one on the 12/13 got my email the next day had to juggle with the security part since my bank is a pain... Got clearance Tuesday shipped that evening and now its in the US with delivery of tomorrow =D

I got mine just fine after verification, and back and forth with my credit card company. Real pita, but got it shortly thereafter...
Happy so far, other than bugs found in the dual loader software, but good thing I use linux normally to work around it.

I preordered two from Clove back in Jan. My items shipped on Feb 4th and received both device in one package on Feb 7th. Clove and Handtec are very high reputable companies. Ive been using Clove for over 10 years and Hantec for about 5. No issues whatsoever.
Do handtec need the same verification as clove?
Im on the ping pong game with the authorization code with citi bank and clove.
the thing is, handtec says they will not charge me until it ships, while clove already charged my account and did not shop it yet .. they still require the check.
Clove is running a special that includes the DK32 dock free with purchase of the Z1 Compact. Got me to bite.

I sent an email asking clove for a free dock since I'm still within my return period let's see how they respond. Either way it's no biggie just a little miffed but I got to enjoy my phone for a week. Plus my dock I ordered already got here

I was under the impression that the phone comes with a physical card with a code redeemable for the $50 credit. I don't know if that's true or not, but I won't get concerned until after I get the phone tomorrow.

I was thinking the same thing, but I do remember reading that it was going to be emailed once the phone shipped. We'll see.

So once your order ships, you should then receive an email with the promo credit attached.

I was hoping the same thing, that I could use the credit to purchase a case for the 5x. But the fine print on the Google store says:
"... Google Play credit cannot be used on the Google Store. Some subscriptions excluded. ..."
Looks like the credit can only be used for App purchases.
My bet it won't come until after the return period ends. If not a lot of people could buy a lot and then return them once they get the credit applied.

I contacted their support, was advised to wait up to 48 hours for the email. I've already received my 5x so only time will tell.

Usually they just reduce the refund by the card value if it was already redeemed.
I contacted Play Store costumer service and they said it should have come 24 hours after shipping. Mine shipped over 24 hours ago so I emailed my rep back to get things looked at more. I hope it comes soon! I got some things to download! x3

Same here. Has ANYONE received their $50 credit?
I just talked to Google rep. He said you should get email of it within 96 hours of after your phone has shipped.
I got mine a couple hours ago, phone arrived yesterday morning, so about 36 hours after receiving phone I got the code in my email.
My 5x was delivered yesterday. I set it up last night and overnight I received the $50 Credit.
It is just a code via email.
I received my 5X yesterday and I received the $50 credit email as I was setting up the phone and updating it last night.
My phone shipped on Wednesday. I didn't receive my phone yet, but I received the code via email for two phones.
My phone shipped Wed., got the code today. Kinda felt deceived by the case promotion since it was only for the Adopted case. I thought it would be for any case in the Google Store. Pretty disappointed by that.

To be fair, "Within approximately four weeks of your phone shipping" could mean anytime between the day your phone ships and six weeks from then.
I could've sworn I had already received the code and submitted my receipt to Verizon. But now I can't find the email to save my life
I had received the code and submitted my claim. It says that they received my information and said try back in a week. This is threw vzw not Google tho.

So all the other carriers have their own thread, figured I'd make one for those of us with Sprint.
After T-Mobile shipped the G6 early, looks like AT&T and Verizon have begun shipping out already as well. Any chance of Sprint feeling the heat and starting to ship soon? Otherwise they'd be dead last, and behind the other major carriers by a full week.
I tweeted at them today and they told me some the along the lines of new information about shipping early.
