Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

wow man this rom brings me back memories from years ago, from Moto G and Galaxy Y, yeaaars ago
let's see how this goes
Very thanks Mr. Dragon , you makes that mi5 world be bigger.
So, i have installed it already, thank you for considering making build of carbon for our MI5 . Rom is lagless, looks wonderful, has everything what I need. And it is Carbon! You should everybody try it!
wonderful news can't wait to test it out always loved carbon! you made my day boss!! thanks!!
Downloaded and tested
Damn, this many options on an AOSP based rom, is just amazing, really, there a dozen of options, is Like RR but based on AOSP lol (and good performance)
and the desktop pic is funny haha
i will test it for some days and then see if it is better than OctOS, since i can compare to that one (the most i used) :B
i did find some bugs for example, dt2w, when i set the long press to recents, for example, to menu, instead it opens recents again
My favourite rom on my Nexus 4 here! Thanks im going to test it!
Dt2w on lockscreen not work. Anyone has this issue? Im use firmware 7.5.4 & 7.4.14

Works here. Turn it on in settings.
edit: It is dt2s that works on lockscren.
Can't have both.
guys can someone help me why i cannot get root to work? I tried all methods but nothing worked. Magisk, supersu, superuser, kingroot everything fail. And this happens on all 7.1.2 roms. tried different framework, different gapps, always clean flash, always fail. I think cm root for some reason work but after installing it I cannot find its option in developed settings.
i have root in rr 7.1.2 working fine via magisk, no problems at all. no gapps here.
nice rom! tested quickly... but i miss snap camera and Sim disabling feature. and dt2w confirmed not working
bye!!
Sim card color not show
How about video recoording, works?
First thanks for another ROM its nice
And second can tell me if you go make another up on Groundzero ROMs?
Enviado do meu MI 5 através de Tapatalk
confirmed that dt2w is not working, also missing killed app on button setting, light setting for recent/back button, and setting for vibrate which can be found on RR
but this rom seems fast enough.

DT2S, I will fix.
And regarding other things RR is not a standard that every ROM should follow, I don't like any comparison with other ROMs.
Please, avoid doing so, like it use it, don't like use RR, Simple !
Bug Reports : Always Welcome
Good job
Awesome rom, battery life seems to be good, also ram friendly, everything is in this rom what i need, only one thing i really miss, press home button to wake devices, your all other rom has this feature,
Thnx for bring nice rom to our mi5

Amazing lovely!!I remember that I used the Moo rom with Xperia Z3~~
Best stable ROM ever I have used but there might be some little problem with Bluetooth connectivity because whenever media is paused or phone screen locked after sometime it will automatically disconnect from the device

Many2 Thanks for your support,bro
The rom works well except for selinux being enforcing and blocking the functionality of many apps such as Magisk(crashes when checking su settings) and Adaway.
Camera is still not as good as stock...
Does this requires unlocked bootloader ?

SELinux enforcing does NOT cause your issues. Magisk works fine on my end, no crashes. I haven't tested adaway, but root apps should work without issues, even with SELinux enforcing.
No custom ROM camera will ever be as good as stock. If you would have done your research, you'd know the stock camera is as good as it is because of Sony's post processing, which you lose when you unlock your bootloader. Don't expect any custom ROM with that quality.

Encryption: This device has full support for FBE encryption and I will only provide support for encrypted devices. If your device isn't encrypted, most likely the no-verity ZIP designed for OOS O will work for you, but if it doesn't - I can't fix or help that.
Firmware: Weekly build from April 5 requires ob7 firmware.
If updating from Nougat: Please back up your data off the device. Most likely you won't be able to upgrade directly from N. OnePlus used different encryption blobs in N vs O so for the best experience, I'd recommend you flash OOS and then flash Carbon. If you're already on O builds of another ROM that supports encryption, you should be fine not to go to OOS in between.
No support will be provided if you're flashing custom kernels, magisk, audio mods etc. If you experience issues, please eliminate those things first to make sure they aren't causing your issues.

Thanks for the ROM it's very smooth!
Are you planning on adding back the wakelock blocking at the kernel level? I noticed it was present previously on adinkwok's thread but not in this build.
Either way very interested in the development and ethos of your builds so would greatly be interested in anything you have to share :good:

CarbonROM is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look, build, and use our code at CarbonROM's GitHub...
Disclaimer:
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! These builds are experimental and can contain Bugs (as listed above). Make sure to do backups.
4) Join our Discord server! There, you can connect with other Carbon users and our developers, and you can get quicker responses to your bug reports. The invite link is right below.
5) Please keep bugreports to this thread or Discord. Do NOT create a Jira ticket. This is still in early development so we don't accept any bugreports yet.
