So a couple of times I've answered the phone and I can't hear anything. It happened again and this time I flicked over to speaker and it worked fine. I looked at the phone and noticed the headset icon was on, even though there were no headphones plugged in. Plugged them in, unplugged them the icon stayed there. Had to reboot to clear it.
Has anybody else seen this bug? If so, any suggestions other than rebooting to clear it?
Yesterday I had the opposite problem... plug in the headphones and sound kept going through the speaker. Again a reboot seemed to be the only workaround.

I have a problem that I do not know if it is Rom related or not. I am using Midnight Journal on and after a few hours my ringer and notification volume gets very very low. I never had this issue before Voodoo Sound and did not know if anyone else is having this issue. If I reboot the phone the volume returns to normal. I also use a2dp bluethooth so I am not sure it is causing the speaker to not work normal when I turn Bluethooth off. Any Ideas?

I am not seeing this on my phone; I am using journaling off though.
Nor do I use Bluetooth.
I'm having a similar issue. After a while my ringtones and notifications won't play (or are so very low I cannot hear them), I must mention though that this only happens with ones I have downloaded. I've also noticed at the same time this happens, I cannot stream any media (video or sound). A reboot of my phone also fixes this. I'm currently running Midnight v5.0 but I've also had this happen on SyndicateROM Frozen.
My problem seems to be when I am on bluethooth the sound will only come through the bluethooth device and not the phone. When I turn the BT off the sound is through the phone but very very low. I have to reboot to get the sound back. It may also be being caused when I am using the headphone jack in the car and after I unplug it. I will have to test this and see if this is the problem. I don't think the speaker is bad because after rebooting the sound is normal again.

What it actually does is misroute the audio through the phone speaker. It is damn annoying.
Hi guys, I did a search in this Arc forum for In ear Speaker problems and couldn't find anything, so I chose to start a new thread. Just know I DID try to find info for this phone but I only found a few other threads about different phones.
My in-ear speaker does not work in calls. It is extremely quiet, as if the volume is turned all the way down. Thing is, I try turning up the in-call volume during a call and it does nothing. But the weird thing is, I went into the service menu to test the hardware (using the *#*#7378423#*#* trick) and tested the in-ear speaker and it works fine! Loud and clear! But then immediately following that I'll try a call and still will hear practically nothing. Putting the call on speakerphone allows me to hear the other party, as well as putting in a headset, so I am stumped. Tried pulling the battery and have rebooted the phone many times and the problem is still persisting.
AND, on top of ALL of that, the damn thing was working just fine the other day. I switched to this phone last week and have been making calls successfully being able to hear the other party just fine. But suddenly today it's deciding to not work in a call. This is really weird.
Has anyone else had this problem? What else can I try to fix it? Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
EDIT: Blah a hard reset fixed it. Feel free to delete this post mods!
I've noticed a couple other older threads about this, but I figured I would refresh the issue. I have the same issue with my Jawbone disconnecting when another call comes in. I have to put it to speaker then back to the Jawbone to return to the call. There has to be other people out there with this problem. Extremely annoying!!
Right now my phone's speaker does not produce any sound at all (headphone jack and earpiece still work though). I checked some other threads that were related to this issue, but they were describing the speaker to just "pop". Mine does nothing. So I have had this issue before, and a restart worked (only if I restarted while in recovery mode). Now that method doesn't work; I have restarted at least 5 times, as well as start in safe mode. Is there anything else I can do to potentially solve this problem? Or should I just RMA.
I have a strange error where my HTC 10 headphone jack doesn't work properly. My right ear becomes incredibly week almost cannot hear anything. At first I thought it was a hardware issue. Cleaned the port, restarted phone. Nothing worked.
I usually keep it on vibrate. However one day I was on call and I turned my ringer on. I had my head phones plugged in at the time. I received a text message and my notification played just fine through both ears of my headphones. I tried music and everything worked perfect. I thought my phone had magically fixed itself. However, the next day the same issue occurred. My ringer was off. So I turned my ringer on and called myself from google voice. To my surprise both ears now worked correctly again music works as well.
What could be causing this issue? It seems like when I turn my notifications off the headphone jack stops working properly and needs some sort of notification to come through.
I am using LEEDROID and Rooted.

I just tested your findings, no error here sorry to say.
I resolved this issue. This was do to the ex kernal app. For some reason after an update it was configured to -64db. The app was also touchy and was difficult to set to 0. Once I got it set to 0. I locked the settings. I've never touched those settings in ex kernal manager.
I had that issue when i was on leedroid AND only with ElementalX kernel. On CleanSlate kernel everything worked fine.
Something changes on boot /sys/kernel/sound_control/headphone_gain file.
That's why i set kernel adiutor (or ex kernel manager) to reset that file to 0 0 values, because locking settings at default in ex kernel manager gives me -64db on both channels in next boot.
Or just simply change kernel to CleanSlate it solves that problem immediately.
