Hey guys, have a very specific problem on my hands. I use my 1more triple drivers with this phone, sound is great, but unfortunately my "lower volume" button doesn't work. The center and "increase volume" button work just fine, and the headset should be compatible. The 1more controls work fine on other phones, and other headphone remotes work my HTC, so it isn't faulty hardware.
I browsed for a bit, and this seems to be a problem for everyone using this combination, although no one had a proper solution.
Does anyone know a fix for this? Perhaps change a value of some kind, flash a different kernel or something?
Same problem
I have a similar problem, I have these Samsung earbuds that have a volume rocker and play/pause button. I'm using and htc one a9 and when I press either the volume up or down, it turns down. The play/pause button works though, sorry I don't have a solution, but hopefully it makes this post a little more popular to gain support, if you find a solution for your problem, tell me, because the the solution is most likely related to my problem too. Good luck, I will be searching for a solution myself and will update you on a solution if I find one
This is a problem specifically with the gold ones. The only fix is to exchange it for the silver titanium ones.
Kinda forgot about this post, thought I'd give an update though. Contacted 1MORE, unfortunately they can't exchange my triple drivers due to the fact that i've owned them for almost a year(technically still within warranty, can't blame them though). As of now, I've been using an app named "Headset Button Controller" off the play store which allows you to assign certain actions to multiple presses of the headset buttons, allowing me to substitute the volume down button. Will get around to flashing a couple of roms in a while, might get lucky and it ends up working.

Hi, nothing comes up when searching for headset and buttons here in the dinc forum, so is there any way I can get the buttons on the headset I have to work? I've got the blackberry multimedia headset. Its got buttons, a mic, and a 4 pin connector. As of right now my dinc doesn't recognize them. The speakers work and sound great, but the button doesn't do anything. However I don't loaded an app that supposedly maps the buttons to my liking, and that app does recognize that I'm pressing buttons, but nothing more.
Anyone else cross this bridge? I'd at least like the headphones to act like the htc headphones do for pausing and answering calls. So far they don't do even that.
I tried a pair of rocketfish headphones I had with the mic and a button built in, and those didn't work either. Those were 3 pin connector headphones. So the problem lies in my hardware or software.
My dinc is rooted, running the latest incredibly re-engineered rom, which is a very very good evo port. Its running the kernel that the rom flashed over when I flashed the rom package. Perhaps my problem lies in the kernel?
Anyway, got any ideas? I'm guessing other dinc owners would like to know the answer to this question as well.
Thanks
Making some progress with the headset control app. I at least have play/pause and voice dial working. BTW this is with the blackberry headphones. I can't believe HTC didn't implement this feature to its wired headsets. Even my touch pro had this feature. Perhaps they're just transitioning to the bluetooth headphones
EDIT: ya that app was apparently switched off in its settings, so now I really have no idea whats going on.
Ok so I am now using the headset button controller app. I've got pause and play set to one press and forward and back set to two and three presses. Then one long press opens voice command. Not exactly using all the buttons on the headset like they should be but it works.

Non-functional htc headset buttons
EDIT: My headset buttons don't register at all
Devnull-TEST ROM Kernel 2.6.37 on HTC Desire
Oxygen-2.0.1 works fine but I prefer the non de-odexed DevNull ROM
Will try to flash Kernel 2.6.38 and see.
EDIT: kernel didn't resolve this for me. Oxygen rom doesn't do as well as devnull on my battery so i will abandon hope of a headset solution and return to devnull.
Hi all,
I would expose you to a problem, I have some beautiful cufie BOSE in-ear OE2i I use with my ipod but I would use DHD also seen that the audio level has nothing to envy to Apple.
The problem is that cufie feel fine, the microphone and the pause / answer function keys do not work but rather to increase the volume.
I initially thought of a hardware conflict but I have found not to be so! MIUI work perfectly with Roma but as jumping track.
At this point I think you can remap these keys!
But how can I do?
I do not use MIUI, I do not like it and is too similar to the Iphone.
Does anyone know give me a hand??
Thanks in advance to all.
Sorry for my bad English
I have a similar kind of problem with Bose in-ear Mie2i model. It has a single long button which works for play/pause/previous/next. But this function seems to be limited with ipod.
But with DHD I can only use the button for play/pause, no volume control with volume buttons. When I double press the long button, it's going to redial, unable to skip a track.
I don't even find a variance with MIUI Rom.
Thanks for the thread.

You can try using an application called Headset Droid to remap those keys to your liking. It's a paid app, but its worth it, has many features. Worth noting is that the author states he cannot map the volume keys from Apple headsets because of patents pending Therefore those volume keys won't work on android, but the rest can be set up as you wish.
@BlackICE Desire HD
Ive done a search, and only found misinformation.
Ive also seen an instructables page about switching the values on some resistors.
Does anyone here have experience doing this resistor switch? I got a set of really.good iems that id like to make work better. The center button only makes it go to the dialer. Mic works, but the other buttons dont. Headset button control from the appstore doesnt do anything.

Hello guys,
Recently I bought JVC Xplosives headset, and since then I'm using it. I realized that long pressing the headset button does not work to go to next song of the playlist, and double tapping the button calls the last person I called. I didn't find a way to make it stop.
I searched this forum and found some people that had the same problem, but no solution was found until then.
What about now? Is there any solution on the horizon?
It's pretty ridiculous to have to take out the HOX from the pocket to go to next song...
clickety click
It didn't work for me. The button of the headset only work to turn off the music or to call the last contact I called.
Anyone else?
I have the same problem! This is really annoying me, because I go by bicycle to work every day and now I can't change music because of this.
I have a non rooted HOX, and didn't want to root it..
I suggest you to try out other headset button controlling apps from store.
Or it might be so that your headset doesn't support other functions.
That really sucks. I'll try out other controllers from market. If I have any lucky I'll post here.
I've tried many controllers from the market and couldn't find any that worked... The only solution that I found was to use the Volume rocker to change music using "Tactile Player", but it's not the same. I hope HTC corrects this because it's really annoying. I don't want to root my phone before the warranty ends... So for now this is the only solution I found.
If I find another way I will post it.
Tried many controllers too, none worket. I'm rooted and even thou couldn't find a way to fix this.
Try this. [root]
Use the KeynrTracker to find out which numbers the headset buttons use and then remap the corresponding keys in the remapper app.

Thanks. I tried, but the number headset uses (226) is not listed on remap! What do I do now?
Check /system/usr/keylayout/. Do you have a file called qwerty.kl there?
I dont work full time here @ xda so stop PM:ing me.
Yes, I have qwerty.kl. What now?
Sorry for PMing; just got excited for the possibility to have my problem solved.
I opened this file as a text and didn't find 226 on the list.
I have no idea if this will work, but try adding the following line:
Code:
key 226 MEDIA_NEXT
(note three spaces in between)
Then save file and reboot.
Hi there,
Has anyone found a pair of good headphones with a mic that are compatible with advanced commands such as volume up/down, next track etc.? My pair of Sennheisers can start and stop, but none of the more advanced settings worked. I tried various apps to assign actions to one button headsets and had no luck at all. Actually, even the basic functions of start/stop are lost when those apps are active. To my knowledge the only headphones that have been reported to retain advanced button assignments are these ones: Samsung ehs64avfbe, but I am reluctant to buy a Fairphone one the one hand and a cheap pair of headphones on the other.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Headphones update
OK, I took the plunge and bought a pair of Senheiser MM 30G. My reasoning was that I had seen somewhere that a pair of cheapish Samsung headphones worked well with the fairphone, and that the MM 30G had been manufactured for Samsung phones. The headphones have a three button command, which are supposed to be volume up/down as well as a start/stop button, which will also answer and end calls.
Out of the box the buttons actually did: next song instead of volume up, and previous song instead of volume down. The middle button for start stop works fine. This is acceptable for me, as I can change the volume quite easily even without taking the phone or of my pocket (the volume rocker is quite tactile even through jeans).
Interestingly, when using different apps to assign button controls I could get the volume control to work via the remote on the headphones, but no long press options e.g. For next song were available. I am thus using them as they are with no extra apps, as being able to skip songs while cycling is important to me.
Hope this helps a bit.
