LG G3 D852 wifi issues - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I'm new to the whole rooting a phone business but decided to go ahead and try it to reroll in a game.
I had marshmallow and I installed kingo root and it kept crashing at 90% and I figured i'd restart my phone. After I did, it would say it's connected to the wifi but google chrome and google play store would not connect to the wifi. Other google apps like youtube STILL was connected though.
Somehow, some websites DO connect on chrome like rottentomatoes but others won't.
I factory reset twice and I even did the flash rom KDZ method and it did put my phone all the way back to 5.0.1 to no effect.
I've googled everything, reset my phone, toggled airplane mode, cleared cache. Would like any insight or suggestions into this issue.
Edit: It was just an extremely weird wifi issue either through the modem but somehow fixed itself. Either way it wasn't a software issue but an external issue.

[Q] Cannot complete Google Play Updates or Downloads

Hi Everyone, I have a somewhat unique problem which I have not been able to find on XDA or elsewhere. Since the 4.1.1 update, which I received yesterday, I have not been able to complete any app updates via a data connection (atm I do not have a Wi-fi connection). I am still able to make calls, send SMSs and browse the internet with no issues.
When I attempt to update an app, it will hang at a certain percentage such as the google search app which stalls at 45%. I've tried to update that numerous times but somehow it always hangs at that percentage.
I've tried to clear the cache and all data for any task related to Google Play. Finally I tried a factory reset, but I am still having the same problems; only now I have lost all my apps, and they two cannot finish their re-download to my HTC device.
This is my first thread so just let me know if I have done anything wrong, and I'll try my best to correct it.
Thanks
I think we are on the same CID HTC_023? I have not had any problems with either updating or installing apps from Google Play. You've done what I would have done in you case. Any chance you can connect to a wifi network and try it, at a coffee shop or through a friend?
thanks for the reply

I've been able to download and update apps via Wif-fi at uni. The problem only seems to be with downloading Google Play Store updates and apps via data. I guess the problem must be with my current version of Google Play (the latest) or my carrier

Internet Connection issue

So, I'm having some strange issues with my SMP-600.
I'm updated to the newest US firmware. Not rooted, all stock.
It connects to my wifi just fine. No errors reported. But then, almost none of my apps can access the internet. Not even the Play Store. So far, the only things I've found that can connect to the internet are "Internet" (NOT chrome) and the XDA app. Nothing else I've tried works. Resetting the device has done nothing. Erasing the network from the device and re-adding it has not worked. Resetting the router has not worked. I'm looking for something to try and fix the issue before I need to reset the device to factory.

Google apps not working just after rooting lollipop.

UPDATE 2: The problem is back again. I did a factory reset yesterday night and restored my stuff and everything was working fine. I woke up this morning and the problem was back just like before. I'm at my wits end here. I may try to factory reset again later, but I'm not that hopeful. Please reply if you have the slightest clue on what to do here.
Hello, I just rooted my phone using one of the new methods of rooting without downgrading. This is the thread I'm referring to: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3049772
So, after that whole process, I did manage to successfully root the device and that it working fine. However, now some of the google apps cannot connect to the internet. (Gmail, Play Store, Chrome) Heck, even amazon app store can't connect. Also, when I click on some of the ads they don't connect either. Now, I know for a fact that I can connect to the internet. Some apps like reddit news, google maps and such are working just fine. Also, with youtube, I can't see any of the thumbnails for the video but I can watch all videos just fine.
So the issue is when I open chrome and go to a webpage it gives me a proxy error: ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED. I don't use proxy server. I also check in wifi setting that proxy is set to none. The same problem occurs when I disconnect wifi and use data. I have tried many of the basic solutions like deleting and re-downloading play store apk. I have cleared cache and other basic stuff.
Please help me out, I really don't know what to do here. Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that google maps works. Also, I just downloaded firefox apk and tried to see if firefox can connect to internet. It's getting the same proxy error as chrome. Now, I'm starting to freak out a little.
UPDATE: I just went and factory reset my phone, everything is fine now. I honestly don't know what happened and why, but it's fine now so I guess its ok.

Thanks but unfortunately Dalvik clear didn't help either. At thing point I'm considering factory reset but I'll wait and see if anyone else has another idea before I need to go through full wipe.
The problem is back again, great.

Marshmellow 6.0.1 Unable to communicate with Google servers

Hi,
I'm fairly new to the Android rooting community, that said I have been jailbroken on iOS since the days of 1.1.2 and have rooting experience with KitKat. I have a Nexus 5X and after rooting, the phone worked fine. I installed TWRP 3.0.2 and Xposed framework, but for some reason I was unable to get Xposed to work. After a week of no issues with the phone, the Play Store stopped working, and Hangouts failed to send messages. I could send SMS via Messenger app and would receive the replies in Hangouts. I did a factory reset, and now I am unable to do anything. I cannot login to my google account, use the play store. Whenever I do anything I get a message that says:
Couldn't sign in
There was a problem communicating with the google servers.
Try again later.
I've searched the web and the forums for issues like this and can't find anything. I would really appreciate the help. It may be a simple mistake that I made as I am not fully aware of how the Android filesystem works.
Also when I check for updates, it stays that the last time it checked was: 12/31/1969. My clock is set correctly and I am connected to Wifi.
Wow!!! What ROM and gapps are you running?
I haven't seen this since my LG G2 a couple years ago. Hop in date and time in your settings and turn off automatic date and time and manually add it... Unless you're saying its right there.
I would try going to TWRP and wiping.
Wipe/advanced and then check every box except for internal storage. Then hit home and go back to install, choose ROM then gapps then vendor.
Xposed has to be installed as a zip from recovery before you can install/use the apk (in 6.0.1 anyway-use arm64).

What happens if you try on mobile data?

Unfortunately I can't use data either since I am unable to activate my project Fi service (since I am not able to make any data connection).
I've resolved this by wiping and installing PureNexus. No idea what was going on with the factory ROM though.

Any chance you changed your Google account password around the time you reset the phone? I think there is some lockout mechanism if they detect password change then factory reset. I believe it is something like 72hour hold.

[Q] Google Playstore Broke?

Good morning! Alright. So. All I've done to my phone was Root it and get Xposed on it. Everything was completely fine until last night. Now, whenever I try to download anything from the Playstore, it just gets stuck on "Downloading". I've tried wiping its cache, its data, force closing it, reinstalling the update. Nothing seems to solve this issue. I was wondering if anyone else has run into this issue on this phone, and how they resolved it? I can't even update my applications, and I didn't even get a chance to Update my Phone, but now when I try to Scan for Updates, it just gets stuck searching :/
This happened to me at first. What worked for me for a couple days was to toggle airplane mode. Then, it started getting stuck again. So, I downloaded Beans GAPPS, and extracted Google Play services and Play Store.apk, and that seems to be working. Keep in mind, that not everything is going to work smoothly. If none of this works, look for the .apk and move it to your device and install it that way. Hope that helps, bud.
I tried Googling Beans GApps, but it seems like they haven't been updated in about a year. Or am I looking in the wrong places?
This has also been my problem since getting a pixel 2 xl almost a month ago. In fact, I wanted to make a thread about my issue earlier but I'm just too lazy! The only thing I did at first was to unlock the bootloader.
Now, I am completely stock without even root but my playstore downloads are stuck in "downloading" and usually the download starts after being stuck in this phase with about 15-30 minutes delay (which could even be hours before my download is finally started, so it's random). The funny thing is playstore lists my device certification status as "uncertified" in the settings. I have tried clearing cache+data of play services+play store+removing/adding my Google account. I also did a fresh and clean install of the May security update rom but all to no avail. I remember reading in another thread that Google may impose a 7 day lock or something for your Google account in these instances so at this point I am just waiting it out (only 3-4 more days remaining) to see if my problem goes away by itself, otherwise, I am pretty clueless as to what I should do next.
