How do you disable them on this phone? I can't seem to find the menu.
open up settings, go to applications, click on messaging then go to "emergency alert settings"
set it how you want it.

Supposedly this phone is able to announce incoming callers and read sms messages?
Voice command is enabled.
Messaging and phone are checked off
Notifications tab: Announce notifications through device speaker or wired headset
Only During Free Time -- Unchecked
What do I have to do to get this to work?

Well I know under the "phone" options (button), you have to maually select "announce incoming calls", but you may have already done that as well. Other than that I'm not sure why it's not working for you..
There's a little too many menus on this thing.
Settings -> Personal -> Button has "Voice Command" selected for Send Key (Hold).
Settings -> Personal -> Phone: I see nothing for incoming calls.
I don't quite know where to look for this option. Also, once there, will there be an option for reading text messages too?

sorry silly, I didn't describe that very well
settings-personal-voice command (same place you probably saw the settings mentioned in your first post). Highlight "Phone" in that list, then hit the "Options" button to the right. On the following screen, check "announce incoming calls".
Also, do the same for the "Messaging" item in that list...hightlight it and hit "Options" again. This time, make sure "High priority messages only" is unchecked.
Those are the only other voice-command related settings that I didn't hear you mention already.
awesome.. worked wonders. i didn't know each separate listing had options. weird voice though lol. thanks

Awesome, glad it's working! Yes, the interface isn't very smooth, and that voice leaves something to be desired. If you want to adjust the speed that it reads to you (I slowed mine down), there's a setting for that in Advanced Config (the app)
I've got no 'voice command' anything on my phone?

Are you using a stock ROM? I wasn't aware that there were any that didn't include MSVC. You can try the attached cab to add it, but first check in Settings -> All Settings -> Personal to be positive that you don't already have it.
I'm using that ROM from the HTC website from March.

Gotcha, I just thought it was packed in any 6.x OEM ROM. Did the cab work for you?
All I have is Buttons, Phone, Input and Keyboard Sliding Sound.
I'll try the cab.
1. Select Settings on your handset
2. Select Call Settings
3. Select Forwarding
4. Now select the appropriate Forwarding options. They vary by manufacturer. You want to forward on these conditions:
Busy
No Answer
Unavailable
Does anyone know how i get to that? I would like to use phone fusion as my voicemail, instead of sprint's.
You need to push menu on the home screen, select setting, then call settings, the voicemail settings and good to go from there, just follow any instructions from there.
The only options i have under voicemail settings is the voicemail number. I do not have a forwarding option.
Did you click the app for the program in the drawer? May have to look for it there and start the setup, because I had to the other day when I started using google voice.
If you took the EL30 update and get a System Force Close Error when you recieve a phone call ,Try going to settings, Call settings, Reject with Message and see how many you have ,anything over 5 will cause that error, If you have to delete some , Hit the menu button Select Delete and check off the ones you want to delete..
just for the record "flastnotes" method works. thats allowing the update, waiting for it to fail, then just pull battery out and then reboot phone.
I really dont know what your talking about , Im talking about a force close error when recieving calls , sounds like your rooted or something and dont want the update bugging you..
1/26 update:
If a force close error is displayed when you receive an incoming call, ensure the "reject call with message"
set up includes no more than 5 messages. To access these settings, go to
Menu > Settings > Call settings > Reject with message, choose the menu key and select 'delete', check
the box next to each message to be deleted and select 'delete' again

Is there a way to selectively set Vonage as default only for dialing international numbers while letting the stock dialer be default for local numbers?
Anyone know how to turn these off? With the weather we have had the last month, i just want these to go away!!!
I know we can clear them but no way to block them.
Thanks!!!
I also would like to figure this out. There is no app, and nothing under settings to disable.
On the Zenfone2 it looks like the emergency alerts are configured using the default Asus Messaging app..
There is a section under Settings > Emergency Alerts

I had the same problem, would like to turn off those annoying alert and chat with asus tech support guys, they told that goto main 'setting'-->'more'-->'cell broadcasting' which couldn't be found, I had the phone in front of me but they insisted that it's there. That's real bad since asus make good products but their tech ppl had never know their products well.
It's in the messaging app. Go to settings / sms cell broadcast

They can be a bit overreacting at times. But it's fun to watch a room full of people get the alert at the same time ?
Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD
These settings are a PoS. You have to configure them through the messaging app, and you can only turn it off and on.
You can't configure which emergency alerts you get, or what the notification sound is, which sucks if you get spammed with amber alerts at 6am in the morning.
Going back to sleep now ... hopefully.
Yeah getting these "TEST" Emergency Alerts at 3am are not fun. I complained to Straight Talk, and in turn they told me to talk to AT&T. I'm fine with emergency alerts, but monthly "TEST" alerts at 3am? Not cool...

I encourage you to go to the Messaging app -> Feedback & Help.
Click on the search icon at the top-right
Search for "amber alert" or "emergency alert" and check "I want this"
nope
When I go to Settings, there is nothing there that says "SMS cell broadcast."
Emergency alerts are under
Asus Messaging -> Settings -> General Settings ->Emergency alerts

And if you are using hangouts or some other app for your "default" sms, it appears you have to enable the asus messaging as default for SMS before you can change this setting.
Which is silly.

Open the Message app, go to top right corner you will find 3 dots from top to down, select settings ---> General Settings ---> Select "Emergency Alerts", deselect Emergency alert settings. This will give idea to turn off.
