I'm looking to purchase an Unlocked Note 4 with LTE (will be used on AT&T)
There are so many different models of the Note 4 with LTE out there. I'm wanting the snapdragon 805 processor and LTE that will give me full LTE speeds on AT&T network.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
(I'd like to be able to run cyanogenmod on it if at all possible)
Thanks!
(edit)
My apologies, I meant to say a Factory Unlocked phone, with none of the bloatware loaded on it from the carriers.
If you've read at all on here you've seen that the AT&T version hasn't even been rooted yet. So installing cyanogenmod isn't an option on this one at this point. I've heard the tmobile one is the way to go if you want to do that.

There are no AT&T bootloader unlocked note 4. Sim unlock is easy, but most confuse the two.
Best alternative seems to be the tmo version, which is only missing a couple bands.
Hi guys!
So I have been stuck with my AT&T S5 since it first came out in 2014. Now it's wearing off..... (very slow, crashes a lot). I am a root/flash junkie so the only reason why I want to upgrade to s6 edge now is because it's possible to root! I am planning to upgrade to a S6 edge but using a Tmobile device and unlocking the sims to AT&T carrier (I am using AT&T). I have done my research and the S6 edge for AT&T is too difficult to root/rom customize with 5.1.1 (or not possible at all). With that being said, I am planning to purchase a s6 edge running on 5.1.1 with T-mobile.
Anyone with AT&T service have tried this method and works successfully? Few questions to ask.. how is it any differ from AT&T service? Does it matter? Any changes? Text/call/4G LTE works flawlessly just like a normal AT&T phone?
I'm also planning to unlock the sims by the method that senior member, stifilz, posted in one of the other thread, "Sim Unlock - Intl' and Domestic".
Once it is unlocked, you put an AT&T SIM in and you are good to go. Did it on my T-Mo Nexus 5 and on my wife's T-Mo iPhone 5S.
-Mike
So I saw this thread for the S5 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059) that's says it's possible to unlock a bunch of bands that will make it work better on other carriers.
My question is: is this possible to do on the Verizon Note 4 running CM13? I switched to T-Mobile and am only getting EDGE in an LTE area. Since it happens on another Note 4 on CM13 and an iPhone 5, I was thinking it's because this phone only works with Band 4, while TMO might use the other bands where I am.
If that guide will work, I'd love to follow it and at least get LTE working on some of our phones (whole family moving to TMO), but I want to make sure I might actually be able to do this, so I don't break my phone.
Edit:
Should I trust this guide (http://dorylabs.com/how-to-install-different-modems-radio-baseband-on-galaxy-note-4/) and flash the ROM modem?
I second that ??
Can anyone confirm that the N930V has LTE Band 17 and LTE Band 12? Does anyone have an AT&T SIM they can put into their Verizon Note 7?
Frequency Check says it supports the bands:
https://www.frequencycheck.com/models/AQQ7j/samsung-sm-n930v-galaxy-note-7-xlte
This is a deciding factor on how I am going to purchase my Note 7. This is also pretty big news since the Galaxy S series and the Note series has not supported these bands natively in recent years.
SOLVED:::
AT&T N930a PH1 firmware can be flashed onto a stock N930v Verizon Note 7 successfully. This unlocks AT&T LTE bands the same way the S7/S7e does. SUCCESS!
According to Verizon's page, it does not support those bands-
Network
LTE Band 2,4,5,13 LTE Roaming 3,7,8, 18,19,20
GSM/UMTS Quad TD-SCDMA 34, 39 TDD LTE 38, 39, 40, 41

I just put my AT&T SIM in my Verizon Note 7 and NO GO
Same result as with my Verizon S7

Thank you for trying and confirming. Next quest will be to have someone flash the N930a firmware (recently posted earlier today) onto the N930v device and see if it unlocks LTE band 12/17 just like it did with the S7 and S7 Edge.

Well, I went ahead and flashed the AT&T ROM onto my new Verizon Note 7; and it WORKED !
Yes, I also flashed the .PIT file. Everything went very smoothly.
Nothing like hearing the AT&T jingle come out of a Verizon phone.
So far, I have not had one single problem.
My Note 7 is connected to LTE band 2 where I am in Tempe, AZ

You are the effing MAN! Heading to the Verizon store in a few hours to buy one. THANK YOU for all your work and trials!
ALL US variants of the Galaxy Note 7 are the same hardware wise. They all have the hardware for the same exact bands. Check under specs on Samsung's website

I suppose if you are using a Verizon phone with ATT sim, you need to input the proper APNs.

Are you serious? I am not sure that is possible unless you have an unlocked bootloader first.

To begin with: I own a Verizon S7 AND a U.S. Unlocked S7. I also own a Verizon Note 7.
While it is true that all Samsung phones are physically the same; it is also true that the different carrier ROMs block certain radio channels/bands. So much for Verizon phones being "Unlocked"
Even with the AT&T APN information entered into a Verizon S7 or Note 7, the Verizon ROM blocks LTE service.
I would never have thought that you could successfully flash the AT&T ROM onto a Verizon Note 7; but I just did it!
My "Verizon" Note 7 now thinks it is an SM-N930A in every shape and form! Strange, but true! All screens and settings show this.
I never even tried to flash the AT&T ROM onto my Verizon S7 as it never dawned on me that it could work.

I just did it also! Successfully running the AT&T PH1 firmware on my N930v Verizon Note 7. Jeffrey687 I can't thank you enough for confirming the firmware for me.
The hardware between US carrier-branded Note 7 devices is identical. The ROMs are what determines the network and/or LTE bands the device is allowed to use.

It's possible to flash the entire firmware from another carrier on these devices. It is not possible to unlock more LTE bands using APN settings, however. Flashing your desired carrier's firmware will unlock the bands necessary.

Would Verizon still allow it on their network? I know the ESN and IMEI numbers are the same, I'm just wondering if the phone reporting as a AT&T Note 7 would trip their system.
I did try AT&T SIM with my verizon Samsung Note 7, and i can see 4G LTE after restarting the phone. no need of ROM updates
Data, VOLTE works after changing apn

That makes more sense. Verizon by law is required to sell all their LTE phones fully unlocked.

Verizon allows band 2 and 3 for AT&T but Band 12/17 is locked (AT&T main LTE band) so youll get LTE just not AT the full capacity

Yes all Verizon phones are sim unlocked but their network bands aren't required to be unlocked.

You wouldnt want to run thr AT&T rom if youre on Verizon because the exact same issue might arise as far as not getting all Verizon LTE signal capabilities. Wait for the N930U firmware since that will have all bands unlocked and be completely debloated

Any Idea when 930U firmware will be available?, Does it contain CDMA Firmware?
Hey all, I found this thread because I am having this exact problem (which you appear to have solved) but, unfortunately none of the technical knowledge to fix it. Would some kind soul mind explaining, in laymans terms, how to get the n930a firmware onto an n930v? I dont know if theres another thread explaining it, but I havent the slightest idea how to begin. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just act like you have a N930a and flash the stock at&t firmware using the firmware and instruction in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-note-7/how-to/sm-n930a-stock-odin-firmware-t3444006/page1
Once you have Odin (flashing software) and open the program, you'll see a button for AP, CP, BL, and CSC. The firmware package has a file for each h of these. Click each button and choose the corresponding file for each. Make sure you have Samsung drivers installed first.
1. Plug in phone to computer while on
2. Keep phone plugged in to PC and power it off
3. Put in download mode (volume down, home, power)
4. Open Odin
5. Make sure you see device ready in top left of Odin
6. Click each button and choose each file as explained above
7. Hit start
Unplug when it says success.
Phone will boot with at&t logo and all.
I know they are two diffrent networks with CDMA & GSM. Some phones now cover both. I've read the note 4 was working like this. I'm curious of a couple things.
1. Is it really possible? To go from at&t to verizon with a note wdge.
2. If so, could you flash a verizon rom onto the at&t note edge to have all the verizon stuff?
Well I haven't been looking into this
But from first-hand experience, if you do
Only talk and text messages will work
Anything data-based will not work as the AT&T Note Edge does not have the correct radios to actually get data
You need the CDMA radios to actually use data
and secondly, the AT&T Note Edge (Same with the Note 4) has been bootloader locked since the release of the phone
Meaning the AT&T Note Edge cannot be modified system-wise
We are still trying to get stable temp-root
Not a good sight
And the Verizon Note 4 (Edge as well) have been bootloader unlocked since April of last year
Meaning customization level is higher than the AT&T variant
Now thing is, the Verizon variant is bootloader locked by default
and you need to have a good amount of knowledge of ADB to actually unlock it
and a lot of patience
but the community is there to help you out with any of your questions
As long as the phone has the Samsung eMMC
So why bother with the AT&T variant and just go get the Verizon variant
Bootloader unlocked, and correct radios
Seems like a plus to me
and the Verizon variant has GSM radios so it can work with AT&T and T-Mobile, and yes
It is unlocked by default so you don't need to contact Verizon to unlock the phone

All you need is to first of all
Find the APN settings for your specific carrier
After you do, place the SIM card in and then go to the settings, Mobile Networks, APN settings, and then set it up how it is intended to be
