4G and Wifi have different firmware, more likely it will fail by using Odin as it detects wrong hardware . One more thing, 4G version has locked bootloader.

But mine is unlocked international version and we don't use odin to install custom rom. We use custom recovery. Am i right or wrong? What do you meant wifi have different firmware?

Even bootloader is unlocked, you cannot mix up firmware as Wifi and 4G have different ROMs.
Try it and you'll see it fails to flash immediately.
Just like Tab Pro and Note Pro 12.2, the only difference is S Pen, but firmware is not interchangeable.

Hello, I am getting a galaxy note 10.1 tomorrow.
I believe I will be getting the p600 model. Is it safe to flash 601 and 605 files?
Is it like the galaxy s4 in regards to you can flash other model numbers roms, you just have to flash a kernel for your device afterwards?
Any clarification wold be appreciated.
All i have to do is flash a recovery with odin correct? I know this will trip know, I don't really care about that.
Once I have a custom recovery I flash the rom of my choice and or superuser?

In S4 case you can only flash the versions that have the same hardware, if I remember correct. And P605 has a completely different processor, its a Qualcomm. But you should be able to use 601 firmware, but you can probably excpect some problems. I remember on the N8000 we flashed N8010 firmware and vice versa and they worked, but there was battery drain because of files looking for 3G signal when there was no hardware for it. And it had some exchange problems, it said no network even if wifi was active. And so on....
But no harm ever came to any device, no bricks as long as it had the same hardware base.

You only flash roms based on you device. The 600 and 601 are similar with exception of the 3g radio. The 605 is completely different.

I am just now modding my SGH-I215M - as I have just rooted using CF-Auto root method. Now I am looking to install a recovery and a custom ROM. Before I do that, I wanted to make sure that the SGH-I317 Roms can be flashed on the M variant (Canadian).
Also, for installing a recovery - which version am I to use? the ATT or Canadian (t0ltecan) version? Goo manager said no files were found for my phone :S
You mean i317m right? I dont think there is a phone with the code i215m. In which case the Att ones will work fine. They have identical hardware

Thanks - Yes, that was a typo. Also, since I have updated OTA to 4.4.2, does that mean I have to downgrade my bootloader for ROM like DN3 V5?
I managed to get TWRP working on my phone, so now I should be able to wipe date in recovery and flash any ROM in the AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II Forums?
Hi there. I have a very simple question. I bought an AT&T version Tab s 10.5. I have tried Googling all over the web for this issue but I can't find a solution. I am very new to flashing roms. I have done it in the past but that was much easier back then. Last time I flash a rom was on a Google G1. Anyway the model of AT&T Tab S is T807A. I am trying to flash the Tmobile stock rom T807T on this tablet. Is there anyway I can do it? Odin fails at NAND write. Please someone help me out. I don't want to flash a custom rom. Just replace the AT&T rom with T-Mobile Stock rom. Thank You.

Att locks it bootloaders. That means you can only flash firmwares from att only. Sadly you can't install Tmobile rom on att
So what about T-Mobile? Is it's bootloader locked too? So I won't be able to install Custom FW on my AT&T Tab?
That means you can only flash att firmware on your att tab s. And Tmobile firmware only on a Tmobile device. You can install a custom FW on att tab for now
Gotcha. Thank You so much for your help. I am not so good with installing custom rom any guide you can reccommend. A forum sticky or post I should read where it tells me how I can install firmware. I don't care about the Knox warranty.
Made a big mistake tried to root the device realize couldn't. Now I am getting the error about device needing to connect to Kies 3 to fix firmware. Unfortunately Kies does not support this AT&T device so I am out of luck. Any idea or anyone know if I can find AT&T stock firmware and just flash it with Odin? Thank You

Try factory reseting in recovery. If that doesn't work then your out of luck there's no firmware for att. Sorry
Just go into recovery and wipe the cache. Factory reset will probably do it too.
Anyone have Samsung Tab S T807T stock firmware?

I bricked my tablet but I can get it with ODIN.
Thanks!
I have the Sm-t800 (wifi) Tab s 10.5 and want to update it but I've been out of the game for a while.
I am currently running 4.4.2 IronRom v1.9.7 t800.. so you know its been a minute since I updated. I am kinda in a bind on how to flash the latest stock firmware (what are we actually on now) and to stick with stock or something AOSP. I literally use the device 99% to watch local storage movies or Netflix so that is what i need functional.
Thanks for the help in advance.
I flashed from a rooted stock kitkat to the latest stock lollipop using odin, getting ready for MM if we ever get it.
I get my stock firmware from SamMobile it downloads fast enough for me, you need to register.

EDIT: A couple of questions if anybody can help
1: I flashed from stock lollipop back to stock kitkat using odin, my T800 was stuck on the Samsung logo and would not go past it, I booted to recovery and flashed lollipop and everything was fine and my T800 booted and setup fine.
2: How can i force a power-down from the Samsung logo, all i can do is reboot or get into recovery, I have done this before but i cannot remember the buttons to hold.

Thanks for the info.. I found the sammobile site but I was confused on which firmware (country mainly) to use since there wasn't specifically a US file. I was thinking "cellular south"?
I am using an Wifi only 10.5" so my firmware choice is easy.
It might be an idea to install TWRP first so you can backup your current rom in case you have a problem.

Also , I have a nandroid backup as well
Your right, where are the USA roms? I downloaded the UK v5.0.2 lollipop from the link below.
Hopefully somebody can point you to the correct US rom, you need a different rom for exynos vs snapdragon cpu, though i think only the cell version has the snapdragon.
When i flash the stock lollipop, TWRP was gone and ROOT as well, ready for MM.

Also, will flashing this stock firmware allow for any ota to come through?
(although crossing fingers for any future update)
Well I flashed the stock UK lollipop v5.0.2 from SamMobile and i got an small fix firmware update from Samsung so updates are working for me, so i expect if you flash your correct firmware for your tab you will get them too.

Yes to both questions. As long you're 100% stock, you'll be able to received OTA updates.

Hi everyone, I just upgraded to the SGS4(M919) from the LG G Stylo.
I haven't been a part of an active development community in awhile, coming from the Stylo where there was 0 development for my variant(No Unlock for Bootloader). I haven't developed anything nor really done anything with samsungs since the SDX-Days when the Captivate was popular.
So my question is where the heck do I start?
Model: M919
OS: 4.4.2
BB: M919UVUFNB4
The in Call screen really bothers me and my husband got a s5(the only one they had) that's 1000 time better ascetically.
TIA, Kristi
Also I see that some have bootloader lock. I have a m919 but it is NOT T-mobile My phone is a unbranded factory unlocked. I bought I brand new from aarons
The m919 does not have a locked bootloader.
To confirm the exact model #, boot the phone into download mode.
If it is an sgh-m919. I would run OTA updates until the phone is running a stock 4.4.4 ROM. This will ensure the modem and bootloader are up to date.
Next, I would flash TWRP via Odin. Once TWRP is up and running, select a custom ROM and use TWRP to flash a custom ROM of your choice.

I believe 4.4.4 is the latest: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SGH-M919/

Are there any recovery images/boot image with sgs5 off line charging screen? I have cm13 and cwm touch recovery but when I flashed cwm charging animation looks like something from a palm pilot from 2002
What is the model # for the s5? I would not recommend using CWM as it has not been updated for a long time. Try TWRP. I believe the charging animation is based on the ROM.
What happened with flashing the s4?

You could try flashing an s5 or Note 4 port to your phone.

Question, is Odin the only way to install TWRP?
I have some down time at work
Odin is not the only way to flash twrp but I find it to be the easiest and most efficient way.
I think other methods require a rooted phone with and some sort of rom manager app.
