I had seen many z play users are getting 8-10 hrs Screen On time even with lot of gaming!
But I only get 5-6 hrs Screen On time.
Tried Hard reset and wipe cache partition.
No Results at all!
Can anyone help me?
i have the same issue
over what period of time? people getting 8+ hours SOT typically go through it in a day. the MZP could easily last 3 days with a low SOT.
you can try downloading AccuBattery to see which apps are consuming the most power. if you're using the Facebook app or games, they're pretty notorious for using more battery than if you were just browsing the web
Signal strength can make a big difference. Also some people turn off location services, and keep screen brightness down. All can have a significant impact.

I always keep my brightness at very low!

Hey guys. I've been noticing a while that a lot of people on the forums get 12+ hours even on heavy web browsing, calling, apps, and texting. I usually can't get through a day of usage (probably 12 hours?) with my phone, and I carry 2 extra batteries with me. I calibrated my battery using the battery calibration app here on XDA and my screen is set on auto. I'm on Syndicate v. 1.1.1 and I use the stock battery.
It will usually last me 3-4 hours of 'heavy' usage (calls, games, texts) and maybe 5-7 hours of 'moderate' usage (when I'm at school, some texting, barely any internet usage, and a few calls)
Are there things that can 'harm' a battery? Some people say it's bad to charge a phone and use it at the same time, but I call people while its plugged in multiple times every day (probably a couple hours worth a day). Does that deteriorate the battery?
I'll post a screenshot of my battery usage tomorrow if that helps.
(note- I am a calling freak. So far I'm about 3/5 in my billing period and I've used 10,580 minutes. )
The charging and using not so much but letting it repeatedly drop low and get hot kills it

the one thing i would do to extend your battery life would probably be to take the screen setting off of auto and manually set it to the lowest brightness you can tolerate.
are you using the twilight zone 1.1.1 kernel? try using the genocide 1.0 seems to give me better mileage imho
I have noticed this even with my extended battery. I am actually going back to 1.1.0 with Vision kernel to test.
Phone calls kill this batter no matter what. Our specs for talk time is 4-6 hours I don't remember
So 3-4 hours on heavy usage is normal if I'm doing excessive calling?
Some days I have a 5 hour battery, some days I have a 20 hour battery - all depends on how I use the phone.
On the short days I use it a lot, I'm throwing attachments around in Gmail, files around in Dropbox, using 4G, and using my phone outdoors - read brightness up.
On the long days I'm using Juice Defender and Screen Filter - read brightness down - I'm mainly texting and powering the screen off asap, and getting in the occasional fb/tw check, and I'm hanging out in areas with stronger Sprint service.
My advice for elongating your battery - use Juice Defender and customise which the data controls by app. Use Screen Filter at about 60% and manual display brightness. Slide your finger left and right along the window shade to keep the brightness down. With the SAMOLED the more dark colours on the screen the longer the battery will last, so always pick dark themes on apps. If you're going to be in a low service area for a while toggle data off if it's an option.
Lastly, I picked a Zagg Sparq for this phone. I charge the Sparq in once or twice a week and then I plug my phone into it on the go on those days when I have trouble. Use the General port instead of the Optimized one. I played the multiple battery game with my G1..I prefer carrying around a juice box.

They seem to help me out a little.
Hello guys.
I've been reading these forums for a few months now and find it very very helpful in configuring my device. It's just now that i decided to sign up so i can be part of this great community.
This is my first ever post and i would like to get help regarding my battery life.
Ive read a few articles about battery saving and also from forums where people usually get more than a day's worth of battery life. That got me wondering why i only get around 8-10 hours average considering i only use it very lightly as im usually busy at the office. My actual usage time range about 60% of those 10 hours when i use the phone during breaks.
Here are example screenshots of my daily usage:
Here are some details about my configuration:
Brightness set to auto, most of the time at 75% level
Wifi, bluetooth, gps always off
Haptic feedback set to minimum
Mobile data always on and set to WCDMA only, area where im at is usually weak peaking at 2 bars of H and H+ signal strength
Gmail set to push notify
A few apps and widgets set to sync after every few hours(accuweather, flipboard)
Ive been considering getting an extra battery because of this but i really want to make sure first whether i could still do something or whether im doin something wrong thateads to the battery draining too fast.
So please if you have any more tips i could use, please help me out on this.
I thank you in advance.

Also here and additional screenshot to go with the two previous screenshots i posted. It says here ive only had the screen on for 3 hours.

Their battery lasts whole day long. It means that they get 10 hours of screen on time only. Not 24 hours.
Sent from my GT-N7100
Yeah. But in my case the 10 hours is the total life of the battery from the time it is charged until it dies. I'd be lucky if i even get 4 hours screen time out of it.
Do you have an idea why this is so?
Im guessing its because of the weak signal where im at and the fact that i set my phone to search for WCDMA only. Although im not sure whether this is really the culprit. I'll try setting the network mode to auto for now and see if anything changes.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Looks like it.
Try better battery status.
Sent from my GT-N7100
Well after i changed it to auto it improved a bit. Its currently at 14% after 11 1/2 hours with 4 1/2 hours of screen on time. The phone stayed on full edge signal for most of the time (which kind of sucks because internet became painfully slow on edge).
But still, i think this is far too short when compared to those who can get it to more than 24 hours battery and more than 10 hours of screen on time.
Is it possible that i have a defective battery?

Do you have locations services and etc (all 3 options) checked in the maps settings?
I don't get near as good battery life and my phone spends a lot of time awake. This appears to be do to google maps constantly updating my location. I would turn this off, but then i would loose google now functions.
Any help would be great.

I have only two of them checked(Use Wireless Networks and Location and Google Search). I have GPS disabled. i only turn GPS on when i'm traveling to an unfamiliar place which is not too often.
i got exactly the same problem, whats your firmware?
since i updated the phone to 4.1.2 the battery drains alone, every 8 hours it discharges 25% without using the phone, i am lucky if i get 5 hours of screen. The android os is the one draining all the battery in my phone. On 4.1.1 i could get 7 hours of screen time with 20+hours overall.

i got 4.1.2.
I can't compare mine to 4.1.1 because when i bought mine it got updated to 4.1.2 after a few hours.
having to charge at least two times a day really negates the otherwise great features of this phone.
I really hope we figure this out. I'll try UtkarshGuptas suggestion using Better Battery Stats and let you know what i find out.
I did they and found Google location services is the culprit.
I'm am referring to the locations services found under location setting in the actual Google maps app. I believe turning of location reporting may disrupt Google now features. Google locations devices is reading out as the main reason for nine consistent partial wake locks on better battery stats.
I'll try turning these features off and awe how it affects battery life and Google now tomorrow.

Please let us know.
after doin some tests with bbs i found the wakelock is mhl_wakelock,
First off, forget all the battery programs. Factory default your phone and add an apk at a time and use. You'll be able to tell what apk is the problem with a lil testing. Slow process yes but pretty straight forward and to the point. I do have a Note 2 and have no battery issues being rooted and having tons of programs, etc. Basically, I use and abuse my device as per my job and still get a day and a half out of the battery.
People who can get 24hr coupled with 8hr screen time most likely have their phone on low brightness and on WIFI not data.
I got a new battery and its still lasts the same as the other. Yeah it may be because of the mobile data always on that eats up my battery.
Problem is my data connection is my primary internet source i dont always have wifi hotspots. So i might just have to live with the short battery life or learn to turn off my data when i dont need it.
I'll still try looking for other things that contribute to the battery being drained though.
Thanks everyone.

I have GPS disabled, auto brightness (but fairly high level) and that improved battery life quite a bit. I then changed kernel to NEAK kernel, reduced the voltage levels for the CPU and that further improved battery life. I can get a full 24 hours on one charge and with normal (?) usage). With the new kernel I can also modify the charging current to a slightly higher level which reduces the time to bring to a full charge.
All in all not too bad but to expect more than 24 hours is unrealistic in my opinion as it is a big handful of electronics!
Not sure what you guys are are doing different. This is my first full month with my note and the battery is a beast. GPS is enabled at all times but all other syncs are disabled. That's just from previous experience. Sync will always drain the battery. So mine is off. I went as far as removing all the extra chargers around my office and home. .now I only need one. And I alsi don't see a need for an extended battery unless I'm going to be away from civilization for a few days. By the way..that was the only time I've killed my battery..kinda. see screenies
--I forgot about brightness- mine is set to 50% and 4G/LTE ..if the device is always searching for it, it will kill your battery. I turn it off at the office as much as I can.

I get between 6-7 hours of on screen time on mine.
Using dark backgrounds really helped the bettery life for me. I use a dark wallpaper for touchwiz, whatsapp, and also carbon as my twitter client.
Using Perseus kernel also helped because it doesn't ramp up the cpu as high as the stock kernel.
Wanamlite rom.
Brightness set to lowest at home. 25-50% when outdoors.
Two MS exchange emails set to push.
I use wifi all the time unless it's not available I switch to HSPA+. what a waste of a paid data plan
Google now disabled because it's a battery hog. location services kept on though.
Hi guys,
I need some help with my LG G3. I'm running Android now 2.4 and my battery is draining fast. I have this problem with every ROM. I just use the phone for social media and browsing. Things like Greenify and Wakelock Terminal don't help?
NFC, Bluetooth and GPS are off unless using (wich is very little) Please someone help me![emoji106]

What is your screen on time? The G3 usually lasts between 3-4 hours of screen on time, and sometimes even less if you play games.

Maybe with your usage it's 3-4 hours sot but you can't say this phone only averages 3-4 hours sot. Everyones usage is different and it can certainly do WAY better then 3-4 hours depending on the circumstances as you can see in the screenshots.
I average around 11h20m most cycles on my phone, And as you can see by the screenshots I provided it can easily exceed that.

I have the same usage as him (Social Media, Youtube and browsing) hence the mentioned 3 hour screen on time. You may not be using Data/wifi when your screen is on, and so you get more than 10 hours.

Ok so I bought my White Note 4 when it launched and so far, I've been less then impressed by the battery life. What's weird is my wife has the exact same phone and hers seems to last WAY longer even though we have about the same things turned on (I keep bluetooth on and location on but only when I'm opening like facebook or google maps does the location icon ever appear).
Here is my battery life in a nutshell. 5 hours off of charger and only 1 hour of on screen time and its at 76%. For whatever reason photobucket isn't letting me upload my screenshot.
Screen is 24% (1hr 7minutes)
android os 16%
android system 15%
facebook 9%
cell standby 6%
and so on.
Signal strength in my office where I have been all morning is -110 dbm. Phone has been on wifi all day, bluetooth is left on, location on, but thats pretty much it. Turning off bluetooth didn't seem to change it at all btw.
What gives? Anything I can do? I see guys posting screen shots of there battery life that is SOO much better than mine.
Thanks for the help!
that's not terrible...you would be looking at 20+ hours of uptime and 4.5 hours of SOT. You could probably improve it with no WiFi/BT/location and bringing your screen brightness down.
I get about 30 hours up and 5-6 hours of SOT. I greenified everything that doesn't need to be active and I use automateit to turn GPS on and off only as apps that require it are in use (root only for that).
The problem with comparing battery life is that there are so many variables. Go airplane mode with screen at 5% and you can probably get 10 hours of SOT. Conversely if you are anywhere where signal isn't great or even if it is but switches towers a lot and the battery life will be terrible. 5 hours or so of SOT should be plenty for the vast majority of users between charges ( zero lemon thread participants exempted).

Battery life varies per device as no two users have the phones setup the exact same way with the same apps. I averaged at least 6 hours of SOT when connected to wifi and about 5 to 5 1/2 hours of SOT when using LTE. I never use bluetooth, location is set to high accuracy.
BT is designed to be low power when not connected. Location on is your biggest drain. Set to "battery saving," and you'll be ok.
Doesn't greenify need root access? I have the retail version so no root here. I've used it with my note 2 and it did help a lot but it doesn't look like root will be coming to the note 4 any time soon unfortunately.

No but you are limited to what you can hibernate. I use the paid version without root and am very happy with my battery stats. I get about 6 to 7 hours of screen time with about four days between charges. Try the unpaid version first.
Changing my location to Battery Saving has been the biggest jump in battery life for me. I do have Greenify installed but I don't think it really helps that much for my non-root phone.
I use widgetsoid and only use a few toggles off it but i keep my location off, bluetooth off, and use screen settings as follows in darkness 10%, regular light 40%, bright bright light 100%. I keep wifi on while using it and then turn it off when im out. My battery lasts me all day and then some. That includes Facebook and Twitter and other stuff. I haven't used greenify since switching from my note 2, but im sure theres even more I could do, especially with Tasker.
I've been getting a steady 5 hr sot every day. I want to push it past normal ?.
I'm rooted. I've been using l speed in battery profile for ages and still getting 5hr sot.
I greenify every app with wakelocks and my phone's almost never awake when it's not meant to be.
But still can rarely get past 6 hr sot. I'm on 4.7.6.
Just wondering how Yous improve your sot?
Maybe ideal settings for kernel auditor etc?
Thanks
Judging by your location the outside will probably be quite bright so when using the phone outside as well a SoT of around 6 hours seems quite okay to me.
When you're a caveman like me and sit inside in a dimly lit room you can achieve 10+ hours.
It all depends on the circumstances. When you see somebody achieve 11 hours SoT you can be certain this was not on a beach with screen on maximum brightness, a weak phone signal, zipping a 2GB folder in the background and playing games the whole time :good:
The biggest battery killer is the screen itself. I'm always at 30-35%. At night at home I use night mode and put the brightness between 10-12%. i use Dark Theme and use a black background to conserve battery.
Secondly apps like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and so forth uses a lot of battery not only by using them, but also because of all the notifications.
Use the website instead.
Thirdly, it depends on your usage, mobile reception, if you constantly use your camera, what apps you're using, heavy gamer, etc...
----
I'm constantly getting between 8-12H SOT depending on the days.
