Here is what I know:
I can use a Samsung USB-to-HDMI adapter to display the screen on a TV while charging the phone. You can hook up a PS3 controller to the GN2 with a USB-OTG cable. I also know that you can connect certain devices to the GN2 via USB-OTG cable and a USB hub to charge the GN2 while using the peripheral.
What I would like to do:
I would like to be able to run an emulated two-player game on my GN2 while displaying on an HDMI connected TV, and having two controllers work at the same time for simultaneous two player action (ex. Street Fighter 2 Turbo for SNES). I already have a couple PS3 controllers as well as two generic USB PC gaming controllers that I would like to use.
Basically, is the USB port on the GN2 capable of being used to simultaneously charge the phone, and run the HDMI adapter and two USB controllers? If not, what about just running the HDMI adapter and charging the phone, then run two controllers via Bluetooth? Also, I see there is a smart dock (EDD-S20JWE) that looks to have all of the functionality I'm interested in, can anyone confirm this?
Thanks all.
I have never thought of that! I am also interested though!

I actually just tried this very setup the other day: HDMI out + PS3 controller. In theory it should be awesome... But I found that the HDMI out is super laggy (both in terms of framerate, and a pretty significant delay between what shows on the phone screen vs. the TV screen). I tried it on both a TV, and a PC monitor, and it was the same. I posted about it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2098948
It made every game I tried unplayable. I didn't even try a fighting game, but I'd imagine it would be even worse.
It makes the setup pretty unusable in my opinion, which has me pretty bummed out because I was really excited about it.
I'll just stick to GameKlip + PS3 controller for now.
Hello. Is there any solution to make Xbox 360 controller working on Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2?
Did you try an OTG cable together with the wireless receiver?
I have wired Xbox 360 controller and I have connected it with OTG cable, but tablet found nothing.

My Tab Pro 8.4 picks up a wired Xbox 360 Afterglow + OTG just fine. Plug the joypad into the OTG connector first and then the OTG into the tablet. If that doesn't work, I wonder if you have a bad OTG cable or controller connection? Does it even light up? Maybe try testing it with a different OTG cable or another controller.
The only problem I've run into so far is only the D-Pad will work with RetroArch, and none of the other buttons register. But all of the buttons work fine with the regular home screen and the Nostalgia.NES app. This behavior has thrown me for a loop.
I am new to the tablet theme and have a new Samsung tab s. It plays android games really well. is it possible for me to use it as a console and hook it up to my TV and use a xbox 360 wireless controller on it to play android games? I don't see why it would be any different in the nvidia shield
It is and it is not different from the Nvidia Shield tablet.
One of the biggest differences is that the Shield has a HDMI . There are also tegra only games that will not work on any other processor without root and some work. The last difference is that nvidia made a console mode for the shield to make navigation and use easier using only a bluetooth controller.
With that said of you have a controller only game/emulator you like and either a micro usb dock with video out or a micro usb to video cable, then yes you can use your galaxy tab s as a console.
Basically the answer is yes it is possible but no it is not the same as a device/os designed to do it.
Hmm...after doing some investigation.... how would I plug in both a usb xbox 360 wireless adapter and a hdmi adpator to plug into the TV? Or is it only one or the other(tv versus controller)?
Personally I would recommend getting a bluetooth controller. There may be a way to use a usb based controller and video out at the same time but I do not know it if it exists.
You will also need one of these. A mhl - hdmi connector.

I tried my OTG cable out on the S2 and plugged my wireless Sound Blaster headphones into it and it worked, I had wireless USB audio. I also noticed that the games on the S2 now only showed a game pad, using the S2 screen control was disabled! So now I wonder if my microsoft X-box game pad would work via the OTG cable. Well no, plugging the game pad's wireless controller into the OTG cable did not enable the game pad on the game. Why did the wireless headphones triggered the external game controller? Would connecting both up via a USB hub actually allow a game pad to be used on the S2?
Hey guys, I just got the Razer phone and I'm trying to connect a wireless Xbox 360 controller to the device. I'm using an otg cable to the wireless dongle but it doesn't pick it up, I've done this with several of my old devices all of witch were HTCs. Is there any software I need to install? It worked out of the box with all my previous phones, no root or additional software.
Maybe the issue is in the otg?? I connect a ps4 controller via Bluetooth.
Does the phone support USB OTG ?
I have seen that the nextbit robin phone does not and razer acquired them to make this phone.
It does support otg and the cable is not the issue, it's the same cable I used to connect it on my previous device.
Indeed, Razer Phone has OTG support and it works with pendrives, keyboards, mouses but doesn't work with my wired Xbox 360 Controller...
Any ideas?

As far as I know, the thing doesn't HAVE proper controller support.
Except maybe the Razer Raiju Mobile that just came out.
Razer Tech Support said there's no OTG or controller support.
I plug my DS4 in directly to the phone, nothing. I plug an S8 to the controller with the same wire, recognizes it fully.
This phone is the most finicky device I've ever dealt with.
