Is it possible to modify the Stock FTF (like to remove the ATT junk) without root? I mean before installation of the FTF. and is it possible to make a updated sin file, after the sin file had been extracted, to add to the FTF?

Yes and no. Right now we are having issues mounting the converted system.sin file image which prevents us from removing or adding files to the system partition. The goal was to edit the system.img to add the required root files and allow you to just flash it (unlocked bootloader only) but thus far no luck. Sony seems to have changed something with the firmware for the ion and ICS for the Xperia S that is causing us problems.
As far as editing the system file then putting it back into an FTF I haven't tried that before, always just flashed the image instead. Once we get past the mounting of the image issue we can move forward. If you really want the bloatware gone I suggest flashing the Generic International ftf and unchecking wipe data.
Is it possible to obtain a flashable zip for the stock 7.1.1 ROM?
I'm running PureNexus as my primary ROM, but I would like to be able to flash the stock ROM as secondary ROM in multirom TWRP.
I guess it is possible. I wish someone will make it. lol. We only have debloated stock rom flashable via twrp as of now.

Thank you very much.
That will suffice. I'm going to use it as a base ROM.

I was wondering if there is a flashable and up to date stock Oreo ROM. I searched but couldn't find one. I want to use xposed and want to update the rom through TWRP instead of flashing whole factory image and erasing all stuff. Debloated would be fine, too. Just no special featured added.

If you use the flash-all batch file to flash the factory image just go into the batch file and delete the -w paramater. Alternately you can flash each partition separately with fastboot.
To maintain twrp don't flash the recovery image. With any of this you'll have to root again.

Is it possible to update the system this way with encryption enabled?
Would it be possible to flash one of the full OTA images?
eg. https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/bullhead-ota-opm4.171019.016.a1-510a2077.zip
(NB. This will probably replace your recovery with the stock one on the first boot after upgrading.)
I've been trying to upgrade to O from AOSPA without a PC for the past few days, I can flash almost all of the images in twrp natively expect these two. I would create the zip myself but I can't seem to decompile the bootloader image using android apps. Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advanced!
Hello,
Is it possible for someone to make Stock version of odexed P2a42 S244_170725_ROW, in zip format, ready to flash in TWRP? It think it could be useful for people that want to have rom as close as stock, especially for those with custom recovery, that want to have odexed system, without added anything, and with f2fs file system?
Regards,
Pro

All you need is a TWRP backup with the data partition excluded. I have about 6 days more before my bootloader is unlocked. If no one does it by then, I'll do it.

Well if you do that you will get a restore able zip AFAIK. You need to get updater script and a few more things.

@madvane20,
Wondering why the zip has system files in a system folder vs system.img as in the past? Is there any advantage to folders vs img method?
i dont think it matters i might try system img but i think i can compress the zip smaller without system image. plus its how i been doing my roms i mean i can also do it another way but i mean it works. did u get updated successfully?
I didn't try updating yet. You could use the same logic about cust partition folder vs img - right. I suppose the system.img is a lot bigger, so folder saves more space.
Big reason I prefer to see system.img is so I can compare md5sums between backups and originals easily. If you have a system.img of B170 stock from @SuperBrolySSJ that you can upload separately, that would be great.
I need to clean my microSD and make B160 backups first before flashing B170, so won't be trying it for a while until I do that. I'll post after I try updating to B170.

i did have cust same way in folder in my swift n fast rom. btw his system image he removed certian stock files apps etc so i had to use some from b160 which work fine being they can be updated through gplay but yea i can give u his but his has removed apps etc. also i tried my update file before i even uploaded or posted it
So he didn't make a full stock B170 TWRP backup before modifying system partition, etc ?? That's too bad. I'm glad you mentioned this.
If anyone has a bone stock untouched B170 TWRP backup containing cust and system images, I hope they'll share it.

it was just system apps that was easily fixed from b160 it works fully nothing wrong cust is all stock. u dont have to use it if u dont want too. it here for those who want to upgrade. i will be updating my rom soon to b170 since i have the files to do so. dont pick at if its bone stock cause honestly it is stock cause i readded the missing apps which from what i saw didnt change was att apps in such nothing major but i made sure everything was stock. for those who want the update it is fully working stock. so enjoy. also if u are running my rom i will have that updated soon
also if u think a complete untouched backup will let u do otas it wont work. tried on all the earlier versions from b130 to b160 so it works its stock enjoy
Nice, good going ?

done check my thread for download its in my sig
Flashed, it works great
(Swift and fast b170)
for building a custom rom, of of aosp source, do you just pick a nexus device or what? i have the vendor blobs and everything, not the device tree yet, but i dont know which i use to start the build. i would like to learn just not sure where to start. i have some experience with linux as well. just need a starting point lol
b180 uploaded stock preroot atm will do full stock soon
b180 is up its prerooted
I'm on B170 debloated and rooted. Can I do a full wipe including system, data, etc and flash B180? Thank you for your awesome work.

well i took a break but to be able to build any rom we have to build a device tree. since we only have kernel source for marshmellow we could make roms for it when i get back to it im working on a device tree and kernel for android n for like lineage
I think it makes more sense to ask about this ROM in this thread vs the other one so...
Is it necessary to be on any specific ROM configuration/version (aside from having TWRP installed) for us to successfully flash the B180 stock ROM you posted in the OP?
If I'm using B160 rooted debloated, can I still update to B180 stock using your B180 stock zip? I understand I would lose root, but that's fine.
the stock b180 is prerooted with magisk but u will still need to reflash it with twrp to get the app etc im working on fixing it is wifi broke if so let me know cause i will redo the rom
