Why would I be getting a system update available message with a Telus rooted Desire running Leedroid 2.1 (froyo). What will this update do other than what it says:
update: android OS update patch
enhanced multi inbox gmail support
improved RUS keyboard layout

the update wont do anything as you can install ota updates on a rooted desire with a custom recovery ..... the reason you are getting it is, leedroid is based on the official froyo rom, so i assume what ever update checker comes with that rom hasnt been removed

the update will just fail if you have a custom recovery, but you can try

does anyone of you (with Stock) has an Android security patch level later than 2016-02-01?
A few months back I heard that LG is releasing a google patch which closes over 100 bugs/issues. So far, the software update does not show anything new (neither OTA nor Support Tool). Is there a way to enforce the patch installation manually?

Just mentioning that today I received an update. I am on Sprint so this isn't Nougat. Checking around the settings/about I see that it is the Nov 1 Android security patch level. I didn't note the kernel version and what not from before, but if it helps anyone I could copy that all down.
I just received mine, too. I'm also on Sprint. It appears to simply be a security update.
Today's (July 17th) download looks a little different from last month's monthly update. This one didn't come with LG's usual "We are pleased to provide you with a free update" header.
This one just said "This download includes security update from Google." So it might be out of the normal loop of fixes or they just pushed it out. Update size is 124.3 MB.
Must be it.

Security Patch level says "July 1st 2019".
from Q910UM20q(June2019) to Q910UM20r(July2019)
