Probably true that motherboard is dead, but I was mostly wondering if you did anything to the phone that caused it to do that. There is a hard-brick fix in the forum... https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=71495218
I'm so stupid...
so i have the same problem...but i don't think the motherboard is dead for only one flash zip...
I have installed magisk on my Xperia Z1 Compact and i bricked my phone. I was in a hurry and i didn't read properly how to installed it. The requiments wasto have an unlocked bootloader and i have lockedbootloader....
Now my phone didn't start. After i flashed magisk from TWRP and i received a message that i have to install SuperUsr and i choose "no". After that my phone doesn't boot up anymore since yestarday.
I tried to power up with simultaneously pressing volume up and power button and is not vibrating. All i have is a red light when i press power button. First time when i pressed power button it has vibrated one time.
I have put the phone to a charger and the light is red and pulsing and the charger isn't warming.
In flashtool i get that the phone is disconnected and in fastboot mode i can't get in, when i pressed volume up and then i put the usb cable all i get is a red light not blue...
Should i unlock the bootloader? But how, because i can get neither in fastmode or bootloader mode...
If you guys know a solution to boot up my phone i will be so happy.
Thanks!
I went to a local mobile repairing shop and the guy told me to replace the battery as the circuit of the battery was not working. So I did and now my z1c is back to life and working fine.
Hope this help someone in future.
Thank you
Hey ejay_gl, did you check the video that I have posted at the top?
The way you have described your problem I think you have hard bricked your mobile because I have faced the same a month before for flashing a kernel meant for unlocked bootloader in a locked bootloader device.
Luckily I recovered from that problem within 1-2 days.
Solution is little bit complex but I think you can do that with the help of google and YouTube.
Good luck.

Yes. I went to a local service shop and the guy over there manage to get my phone working. I'm so happy that i didn't have to buy a new motherboard.
But damn now i have another problem. i have rooted with kingroot but i can't replace kingroot with supersu.
I can't do this steps:
Open the Terminal app in your mobile , enter the command " su " ( without quotes ) . Allow Root Access in your mobile.
5. Now run the command - " sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh " ( without quotes )
6. The SuperSu app will launch automatically , it will ask to update binary , click on CONTINUE , then Select NORMAL method. After the Binary is installed it will ask to reboot your device.
Is there another way to get supersu or a recovery. If I can get a recovery i will flash a pre-rooted firmware.

Pull out your battery for 2 minutes, put it back and try to boot. If that doesn't work then:
1) Power off your device (pulling out battery is the bulletproof way)
2) Press the volume-down button and hold it, then press the power button until you see a
white menu screen (bootloader)
3) Try to access recovery (navigate with volume-keys and powerbutton). If you cannot
access recovery then:
4) Download this file http://www.multiupload.com/BTJ8KY0KH9 and put it on your SD-card
root with an external memory card reader.
5) Boot to bootloader again and accept the installation
6) See if it works.

like to do all of this but it dont boot into bootloader doesnt mater if i push volume up or down and power on either way it vibrates 3 times than flashes led.
still... is HTC able to detect a rooted device even if it dont boot? and if so can they deny the waranty
This has happened to me 2-3 times. I definitely think it was because the battery didn't have enough charge. Try charging it for a little time. Have patience.
If its not getting charged I think there might be some problem with your charger, charging cable, charging port or battery.

wll the battery was charged 100% just before that happened - and i tried another battery after this happend - because i was about to install a new rom. so it checks aut that when i try to hboot that its vibrates 7 times than flashes green led (when vol down + power) when i start normaly or when i try to vol up + power its vibrates 3 times
and flashes a orange led ( normaly it would be red but i was on blackice mod)
i have varanty left on that thing and it was rooted s-off when i send it in are they able to see this?
and could they deny varannty?
it was only slightly oc´ed to 1.3 instead of 1 ghz thera was chainfire installed too
Windows 7 trys to recognice the device when i plug it in per usb but cant find the right driver.
thanks for the ideas

That's strange. When that happened to me it was fine when I charged up the battery.
Unfortunately, considering the fact that you can't even get into bootloader and that windows cant recognize your device I'd say you are pretty much bricked.
Do you get the splashscreen atleast? the one with the white HTC logo?
Are your volume keys working fine? I mean were they working fine before this happened?
Well I'm pretty sure that if they can't get to the bootloader, they have no way of knowing it was S-OFF. So they can't deny warranty in that case.
On the other hand, if the issue that caused this problem was indeed an issue that could've come only after someone S-OFF's then they might just deny it.
But I'm pretty sure you can fool them by maintaining that you don't know anything about how it happened.

Nope. Wont work. The computer has to recognize it atleast. In anycase, adb works only after the mobile boots past the splashscreen. And I think he might have already be knowing about adb since he's flashing ROM's.

thats the point ther is no splash screen at all. i think this is a great myth the comunity cant solve by now. i read this a bunch of times many post to the 3 vibrations on boot or 7 vibrations ther is suggested that the mainboard passed out but what coused this if so?
otherwise i saw post on peaople were able to fix this bug and therfore could be no mainboeard failure be possible right?
i still try to figure that out gonna make a pol thread in DHD general because i have some suspissions to this and i want to see if this checks out.
thanks anyway
I was installing cyanogen mod 10 via CWM and everything went fine until I rebooted after installing. The phone would not reboot in to android.
The phone is stuck on a black screen with no power light showing - it vibrates if I try a hard reboot but that is the limit of what it's doing. When it was plugged in via USB the computer installed a couple of drivers but that's it as far as any form of life goes.
Does anyone have any ideas ?
Is your bootloader unlocked?
CM10 only works on unlocked bootloader.
If your bootloader is locked, use PCC or Update Service to repair your phone.

Do this -
1. Download stock ics ftf and prepare to flash it using Flashtool by androxyde
2. Press and hold the power and volume up combination until you get 3 vibrations
3. Now holding the volume down key, attach the usb cable and allow the flashing to get completed
4. Turn on your phone normally after the flashing and enjoy
Thanks.
I used the sony update service to get up and running again. As far as I was aware the bootloader was unlocked but presumably it was not which caused the problems ?

To turn it off completely, press and hold the volume up + power combination until you get 3 vibrations. At this point, your device will be completely turned off. Now in order to unlock your bootloader, kindly follow this guide - http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions

This phone doesnt have any Volume +/- power button trick. It ONLY has the yellow reset button. Its a pain in the A*S!
Try a few things first.
1) When you hold down the yellow reset button, are you ONLY holding it down for a few seconds, and it vibrates ONCE?
Have you tried holding it down for 10 seconds, until it vibrates TWICE, indicating it has powered off completely, and THEN try connecting it?
2) If step 1 got your phone to power off completely try:
-Connecting your phone to your PC via USB with the volume DOWN button held and see if you get a GREEN L.E.D. If you do you have
successfully entered flash mode, in which case you can simply flash an FTF file with flashtool.
-Connecting your phone to your PC via USB with the volume UP button held and see if you get a BLUE L.E.D. If you do you have
successfully entered fastboot. From here, as long as you have ADB and your devices drivers installed on your computer, you can flash
a boot.img or "Kernel" with a fastboot command in a command window (fastboot flash boot boot.img). The easiest way to get a kernel or
boot.img with a baked in recovery is to download the latest Cyanogenmod, unzip and extract the boot.img, and flash it via fastboot.
Since you have an unlocked bootloader already, your device should be able to use an AOSP kernel.
From there you should be able to at least boot into recovery, and flash something from your SD card.
Id recommend just flashing the latest Cyanogenmod just to get your device up and running. From there you should be able to follow steps
get back to stock if thats what your looking for.
I hope at least one of these options work.
If not, like that last guy said, take it to a service center and get it checked out.

All ZL's are like that. Hold down till 1 vibration for reboot. Hold down till 3 vibrations for power off. The yellow reset button will not power on the device however. I figured I'd check just incase my power button decided to go for a sh*t.

You guys could try unbricking with xfstk, if your phones show up as Moorefield in Windows device manager. But I think they're bricked. Send them to Asus. I don't think they will charge you for replacing the motherboard because Asus won't notice you're rooted, when the motherboard is dead. And even if, imho rooting won't void warranty, only unlocking the bootloader will, right?

IT shows moorefield in device manager but only for 1 sec.
Is this motherboard fault?
I think so. Mine was the same. But I could get my phone to show up for more than 1 sec in device manager by holding the volume down button on powering on and keeping it holden.
Xfstk was working this way, but only to the part when it tries to flash firmware. Then it loses the connection... But try! Best of luck!
feel your pain - I cant get any Moorefield at all. Completely dead and Asus dont wanna repair.
Hello guys, I kinda have the same problem:

2) After the phone restarted, it stuck in the loading screen forever
3) I entered the recovery mode and the sleeping android robot with the triangle error sign appeared.
4) I surpassed that by pressing power button + volume-up button and releasing.
5) Reset to factory settings, clear cache.
6) Still stuck in the loading screen.
By the way, I had unlocked my phone about a month ago. What can I do now? Is the warranty void? Thanks in advance

Let we make it clear, If you enter download mode from Android Recovery, you will not see the option to long press volume up to unlock the boot loader. You will see it if you enter download mode: Turn off it, press and hold volume up + volume down together while pressing these keys, connect the phone to PC using USB cable.
enter download mode and long press vol up should fix the problem
I have the same problem with my galaxy fold F900F ..
I can enter to green screen ( download mode ) But there is no option for long press volume up ..
only I get long press volume down + power to restart the phone ...
so how to confirm unlocking bootloader in this case .. ?

Hello,
The problem usually comes when you unlock and lock bootloader too many times (2 or 3). To fix this problem you need to go into download mode - flash the stock firmware from samfw.com and then setup you phone. Then, unlock oem will be available in developer options and then you can unlock bootloader from download mode.
Hope this helps.

Hello,
I think you need to flash the stock firmware. Then, bootloader unlock will be available in the download mode.
FYI If anyone is having this issue like me, just use power button + vol up + vol down button while powered off then connect usb cable, and it worked (for me!)
hey all. I had the same problem and managed to make the hold volume up to unlock option appear by connecting to internet, making a google account and samsung account, and fully completing the setup (no more "finish setting up your phone" notification)
Hope it works for you! there might be some waiting period as I did this over several weeks of playing around with it.

if you want to remove that finish setting up notification, just go to notification info then app info and disable that app, it's redundant anyways

Hello xda members!
I am really stuck and I have lost many nervs trying to unlock the bootloader.
Well, I am not new to this and never had a problem the last years with several phones but this one s***s balls, sorry.
In the settings I checked for "OEM-Unlock" of course. Rebooted to Download Mode but I don't get the screen where I have to press Vol-Up to confirm unlocking the bootloader. What's up with that?
I tried everything I could think about but as I said I'm stuck and you guys here are my last chance.
I really hope someone can help me.

I had the exact same problem with my SM-A505W! I looked everywhere and could not find anything. Eventually, I found a couple of things relating to a bug where you either had to plug in the USB-C earbuds that came with the phone or plug it into one of your computer's USB 2.0 ports. I did the latter.
This is what I did. First off ensured my phone was just like the one noted above by noobynoob7. Next I plugged my phone into a USB 2.0 port on my laptop. At this point I heard my phone connect and noted that the screen showed me my phone was charging.
***Important*** I pressed the volume up and volume down at the same time; then I pressed the power button, holding all three down simultaneously! At this point my phone immediately went into the familiar download mode with the option to long press the volume up button to unlock the bootloader.
I am about to return a S10e G970F because I can't get past this as well. Button combinations mentioned don't do anything for me, completely lost.
EDIT: Fixed now somehow. Sad that I am now apparently forever stuck on Android 12, even with custom ROMs?
