Hello,
Couple of months ago I bought a UCH12 charger and it was working fine with my Z5 Dual Premium.
But since the update to Android 7.0, it stopped working.
I'd plug the charger to the phone and it would vibrate as if it recognized that something was connected but the phone does not show the icon of being in charge and even when I go check the battery usage it says that the phone is not charging.
My phone is not routed. I tried getting help from Sony support, but all of the action tried (reset, long reset, turning on and off, repair, etc...) did not get any results.
Anyone has the same issue ?
have you tried charging ANYTHING else from this charger?
looks like it's dead.
Yep, a Galaxy S7, works like a charm, just hates my cellphone or my cellphone hates it, either way.
try the same chargers while
1. device switched off
2. charging optimization is off
i suspect that charging optimization causing trouble...
1. Same thing
2. I am not sure where to do that, I have check battery optimization but iit only optimize the charge in respect of the apps used. and it did not do anything.
I admit that this is a strange one, has anybody witness the same thing ?
I can always send it for repair (I am still under warranty) but I'd like to use this as last resort (takes some time and forces me to use a crappy phone).
Settings > About Phone > Status
Tried it, no change...
EDIT:
I wonder if this article isn't saying that Google might be messing with Quick Chargers...

Anyone else on this issue ?

Hi, need some technical advise on this issue. Apparently, I have a set of Galaxy Grand from China Unicom. The thing is that it is on stock. I gets heated up super hot whereby I can feel the blistering heat and when plugged in to charger, it just discharges and not charging. The phone is hot with or without charger plugged in. It has never went to water contact before. I am puzzled, I can't flash it to any other firmware as I've read the I9082_CU phones are sort of like firmware locked. The phone will keep on draining battery until it kills itself off. The only way to charge it back is for me to charge the battery with external charger.
If anyone has any insight of this issue, or have a schematic diagram for any jumpers to the mainboard, please share thanks. I suspect something is drawing power or a blown capacitor or resistor that is causing this. Another thing is that whenever I try to activate the wifi and bluetooth , it just says " Turning Wifi On" or "Turning Bluetooth On" it stays for a couple and reverts back to off position. However I noticed even in the off position, the WIFI or Bluetooth icon is dimly lit.
I thank everyone for any insight on this.
Regards
phone is getting slower
am also facing the same problem... & now a days am not able to open the google play store, when i open it, my phone hangs & after some times error message wil popup on my screen like "unfortunately google play store stopped", please help me with a solution for this.....
I never knew Grand has a carrier-locked variant... Given its target market in developing countries, not US.
Your best bet is to complain to your carrier and claim your warranty, because it seems like they have done lousy modifications to the phone...
The thing is these phone was purchased from China, didn't know it too that they locked the firmware but after reading from a couple of guys here, it seems it's locked. Battery is draining like crazy , 1% every 20-30 secs. I think it could be firmware but maybe it could be hardware as well
This could be a faulty app/firmware---which can be detected by some system monitoring apps on Play Store---a bad kernel or some faulty hardware...
There's no solution for faulty hardware... just dump it if you can't bring it to a service center
Can you root and install a custom ROM on a locked firmware? (sorry I've never used a locked phone before) This could be a fix if it's a faulty app/firmware/kernel.
Hi,
Last week, I updated my Zen watch via the normal way (Access watch application and check for update).
I did a "forget watch" on my phone before I proceed to reset which I believe is a common practice for android devices.
I was using it normally for 2 days but did not charge as weekend, I don't use and left if on without switching it off thus the device shut down when low battery.
Now the problem starts, I cannot power on the device and when I tried to charge the watch, the watch only vibrates only and does nothing.
Can anyone help me?
Thank you!
I Emailed Asus Support but because this watch is imported and there is no local support, I am being throw around and I am pretty lost.
How long have you tried to charge it for?
Hi Willber,
Sorry, right after I posted this it works again.
Apparently, the battery was seriously drained and honest like all the problems faced, I think this 5.1.1 is not well optimized at the moment and now I can understand why Moto 360 delayed the release.
The usual charger (direct with cable)I use does not seems to able to provide sufficient power to it and this goes the same for my USB cable + (I am using a multi ports 2.1Amp charging port).
I changed to thicker cable and it seems able to pick up the power. Not sure why this happened because before I upgrade, I had no problems using the mentioned charger and cable + charger before.
While this is weird, I am happy that the watch is back online for me.
Will monitor a few days and make sure I don't totally drain the battery by mistake again.
Thank You!
hi.
my xperia arc (lt15a) has all of a sudden stopped responding to the charger - it won't charge at all!
tried other cables, tried connecting the usb to a desktop pc - but no respond!
the battery was at ~40%, and during the night I connected my powerbank to the charger, and the Arc to the powerbank (so trying to charge both of them simultaneously - something I never did).
in the morning I discovered that the phone didn't get charged.
I didn't worry much - I thought it was a bad cable, so I let the battery drain completely to 0%. but later I have discovered that it wouldn't recharge at all, and won't respond to a charger or a pc.
I have tried several things - which probably got the battery to get very drained-out. So now, if I try to power-on the device, it wouldn't turn on at all (it could turn on before), and the led near the micro usb port blinks in red for 3 times.
there is a very very tiny chance that a micro drop of rain got into the micro usb port, before the problem had started. But now I can't see any corrosion - maybe I don't know how to recognize it well enough? Anyway, I have tried to clean the port with alcohol and with electronic cleaning solvent (tuner cleaner) - but the phone still doesn't charge. maybe I didn't clean well? I really tried my best!
this Arc has mikeioannina's CM11 from 17.4.2016 - I used it for several months until now.

the last thing I could do before the battery totally drained out was to enter the recovery mode (by turning the device on while holding the volume-up button), and then performing a factory reset. but it didn't help.
and I also want to mention that initially when the problem had started, when I connected the charger, sometimes the legacy xperia logo had appeared - but without the battery indicator afterwards (the phone just went off afterwards). now even this don't happen, and the phone doesn't respond at all to the charger. that's why I think it's a software problem, concerning the 3rd party rom that I've installed.
the mistake I've made was that I didn't try to reinstall the rom while there was still enough energy in the battery.... but I was abroad, and busy, and without a PC - so I couldn't perform it even if I was aware of the problem and wanted to solve it.
I don't have another battery or an external (desktop) battery-charger. and I am not enthusiast at buying these for this old phone (unless people here would be certain that it would definitely solve the problem).
I really want to keep using this device for a few more months - until the galaxy s8 / lg g6 would be released. I don't want to buy the current devices.
So could anybody help me?
hey i can help

I started getting this issue yesterday a day after I got a software monthly update for Nov. I normally shut the phone off to charge but sometimes leave it on. When plugged into something it doesnt seem to detect its plugged in. I even swapped cables to a slower charger and same thing. It doesnt see it.
When I fully charged it off, It beeps the battery and does a circle hue randomly by the home button but than detected the connection to pc. I ignored it and started up again but without the beeping, just wont charge when on. There is no dirt or anything in the unit,. I have not moved any-wires, they have been sitting in the same spot on the counter since day 1. I'm gonna try a factor reset if it keeps happening a day or 2 from now.
Same problem here, it was behaving strangely few days ago (charging problem right away but worked in the end so let it go) and now it charges only when off or if plugged within 30 seconds after turning on and only on normal charge speed (not quick charge). Tried to wipe apps and everything, did the facrory reset 2 times but still nothing.
I have similar issues with charging my g7, first give me notification of moisture detected on USB port, then can't charge normally need to plug a few times and sometimes get slow charging, i was thinking have faulty USB port, and have poor battery life.
Then I turn off and put the cable and charges normally and realized that it's software issue.
I flash the ULM10i firmware and now everything work flawless the USB port charges when it's turn on and have very good battery life now.
As an update, I called LG and they basically stated that it sounds like a software issue and to send the phone in. I declined hoping to get another update that would fix it.
I have yet to get one from T-mobile. Long story short, it corrected itself and now charges off or on and no longer does the beeping. Whatever it was, was a bug that temporary for me.
same problem here; no moisture errors, aleatory starts charging when it's on, poor battery life; mainly starts charging with the phone off
problem solved! I've forced LG BRIDGE to reflash the ROM and voilĂ , all working like a charm. Just download from lge.com, install LG BRIDGE, under "software update" ... "update error recovery" and it will download and reflash the working ROM.
My Samsung A70 doesn't want to charge at the moment. The last time the charge worked was the previous day. Sometimes it happens to me that my phone suddenly does not charge, in these cases I took it to show it to a phone repair in the city, but when the technician tried to get it to charge it worked, but when I tried it at home no. I also went to the technician again, this time he tried to load it and at first it didn't work, after other attempts he started to load and after trying mine it worked again. I don't think it's the charger that creates problems but the phone, since I tried to charge it with various chargers. What I was also told by the technician is that I have a fast battery charger that my phone can't stand since this charger should be for the Samsung S10, S20 etc... The model is EP-TA800 and searching on google I found that charges at 25W, and still looking at google it says my phone supports 25W. Now I don't understand where the problem is it doesn't want to load again so I try to wait a bit to see if it loads again later. I also noticed one thing, that when I turned it off and then put it on charge (it gave me no sign that it was charging) and then on again, I found that the battery had increased. Could it be that it loads without showing me? Or could it be that my current charger is harming the phone? If you have had similar experiences let me know if there is a solution
It's a common issue on those phones (and on other Samsung devices, I've experienced it too), and to be honest I'm not sure if a repair is even worth it. One common "fix" is to press on the back of the phone, above samsung logo. It usually works, but it's not ideal.
I had random charging issues as well. Had the port changed and still did it. Sat in the drawer for a year and i finally took it somewhere else. They said it was the ribbon that connects the charging port to the board. If that makes any sense. They had one from a junk phone and didnt even charge me for it. Works perfect.
