Phone is bricked, can't load into recovery and can't turn on without being plugged in - Huawei Ascend P6, Mate

This phone is quite old but I've only recently had the courage to open it up to try to fix it.
I've tried to flash the stock firmware when I could access recovery mode but it says that it couldn't install it from the SD Card.
I've tried plugging it in to my computer but the phone doesn't boot.
The phone wasn't rooted or messed with in anyway. The battery life on it just slowly went down and down until it is in the state now where it can't get past the boot logo. It doesn't even get to the boot animation either.
I'm just seeing if I can try to restore the phone to its former glory at all, whether it be a parts replacement or a software fix.

It's a great phone!
Just got mine working.... It was so nicely built.
Of course, it's waaaay beyond really practical but it works well. Even the camera is still good as long as you replace the rear cover-plus-lens
You need to replace the battery...cheap from eBay
Replacing it however, is very difficult to do well so find a shop

I actually managed to remove the battery to see if the battery was the problem in anyway. It still acts the same way when the battery is removed. I would spend the money to buy a new battery but I just want to make sure that it is the most likely problem.

Re-download your recovery firmware... Sometimes it's as simple as a corrupt file - is happened to me! Also, Leave it plugged in over night with the battery on.... It won't rescue the battery if it's dead but it's happened when with my last battery it was dead and the overnight got it to at least boot up and switch on before it powered off again.
It's worth getting it running. The only phone slimmer now is the Moto...and that has a huge camera bump!
The screen is great, the colors are lovely and if it's stock firmware, EMUI is at its quirky best.
It's a great feeling in the hands and I'm enjoying using it again.

A big problem is that my phone won't install the firmware from SD Card for some reason. I've also tried to charging but that no use.

Have you tried copying the firmware to phone internal memory?

It won't boot into recovery when plugged into my computer.
Edit: I managed to boot into system and use the local update function to install the firmware. It works once again! This phone has been dead for a couple years now and I'm glad to see it back now. I ripped the ribbon cable for the battery so I'm gonna buy a new one. Thanks for the help!

Quick Q: Jedi Mind Trick Brick? Phone unresponsive;Veteran User

phone wont boot at all after install. wont even go into download mode.
phone worked perfectly when i was running beastmod 3.0 i believe. i stayed inactive ever since.. i made sure i could get into download right before i went ahead to the jedi mind trick update. like i said, everything worked perfectly. tested out all button combos for recovery and download mode (even did the pulling the battery and plugging the usb method) with success before i updated. yes phone was on 100% battery . it was on the charger the whole night.
i logged back on because i felt like updating and read about Jedi Mind Trick. installed TWRP recovery as well a few days ago. i wiped everything of course, flashed, repaired , reboot. I got a black screen for awhile and let it sit for 30min. no response, so i pulled the battery and tried to turn on. phone wouldnt turn on so i tried to get into download mode and failed. phone is completely unresponsive.
what to do? i'm just stumped now. i was inactive, but by no means am i new to this.
Are you sure your battery has a good charge?

I see by no means are you a rookie but I will ask have you tried to plug your phone in to your pc and see if it makes a noise and recognizes it. Honestly I would assume prior to posting you probably tried everything so it may be unfortunate but you may have to send to JTAG or go through insurance.
Cant see a rom doing that to your phone? Unless you had some hardware failure
Have you tried using a usb jig to force it into download mode?

yes. i made my own actually. it was the first thing i used to make sure i could get into download mode, with success, before the flashing process.

after flashing:
1) i did plug into 2 laptops(windows 7) and a 2 desktop(vista and xp). "tries" to install the drivers and then makes the fail noise.
2) tried to use the SGS2 toolkit as well.
prior to flashing:
1) phone mounted successfully to 1 laptop and 1 desktop. thats all i tried it on. i used my laptop to transfer the flash zips and my desktop to back up my internal memory since i havent done it in awhile.
2) everything just worked. my only gripe was that my phone was still on gingerbread and decided to update to to ICS
i'm just puzzled myself. i did try everything that i could think of to at least get the phone to turn on somehow. i even went back to sleep and put the phone on the charger hoping the phone would just magically turn on itself >_<
i know i've been super inactive for awhile, but it only took me a few of days to get myself back up to speed and catch up on the new information.
Also would like to add that i used 3 samsung micro usb cords(2x sgs2 and vibrant),jig,2htc cords(hd3 and mytouch 4g) and even my old nokia micro usb. No success but at last the laptop is detecting the phone when trying to install drivers and then fail.
I know i did not download thw wrong rom either its not like i go off to other phone sub-forums to look for stuff.
Chalk this up to bad luck and move on. Its not the ROM. Period. Like pmtr3 said, 20,000 downloads plus, and your the first one to say this happened. Sorry to hear about your phone.

i have no clue what happened. maybe some kind of freak hardware failure. i used to be so into flashing, but decided to use my phone as a phone instead of always flashing.
i did call TMo for a warranty replacement, but the SGS2 is supposedly on back order -____- they recommended an alternative device, but not details yet until they get back to me.
this isnt my first SGS2. i got mine during TMo's firesale on Nov. 19th. 3 days later, i exchanged under the 14day grace period it due to horrible data drops and robotic voice. The phone was stock at the time. Data drops made it impossible to download-on-the-go for whatever the professors assigned . 2nd one worked like a charm.

yes....i'm cutting my loses and doing a warranty exchange. Hopefully an SGS3 due to having 2 SGS2's. Usually, they will upgrade to the next device if your current device is not available and you had 2 replacements.
i'm trying to find my Good ol' G1 that never really failed me. i used to like using it from time to time whenever i had my vibrant just for nostalgia purposes.

[Q] Would the phone get stuck at boot screen if battery was bad?

Hi I have a confusing situation. I was customizing my newly re-installed FK23 ROM for a couple hours, and while my phone was loading a widget on my homescreen, it froze. So i pulled the battery like I do when I am having issues and i rebooted it. It booted to the sprint splash screen, chime and all, but right after the animation, it reset and boot again, and now everytime I try it is stuck on the boot logo. I have suspected my battery to be going bad for weeks now, but the last time I checked it out, it wasn't swollen or warped. But today I noticed that it was bulging just from feeling it with my hands, not severely, but noticeable to the touch, not to the eye, and it can also spin for a second or two. I am confused to whether this is some sort of major software snafu resulting in a soft-brick or just the fact that my battery is bad. My theory is that the phone wouldn't even start to turn on if the battery was completely shot, so I suspect it may indeed be a soft-brick, but if the phone can still function marginally with a shot battery, that makes it very complicated. I checked and I can still boot to recovery (unfortunately I'm on stock recovery so I can't try reflashing the ROM), and I can also boot to download mode. I know that I can flash a stock tar with PC Odin and be up and running, theoretically, but if my battery is truly shot, isnt it VERY likely that it would fail in the middle of the flash which could result in a hard brick? The reason I am so concerned is because I don't have TEP on my plan, so for me its between spending $10 on Amazon and buying a new battery, or spending $100 for a repair/replacement for sprint. So my question is, if the battery truly is the culprit as opposed to a software/firmware soft brick, would the phone be able to boot into recovery/download mode?
Also, I had deleted some bloatware apks from the preload folder (Mattix's ROM) using Root Explorer earlier but I hadn't yet rebooted the phone. I deleted Sprint ID, TV, nascar, nova hd, telenav and music plus.
reflash your rom
i am having the same problem. though battery was going bad and replaced it and now i can only get to the samsug boot screen an then it restarts, i can still get ihnto odin and rcovery but thats about it... any suggestions would greatly help

If your still within a year with your phone you can go to Sprint and get a new battery.
Or just Odin to EL29 or EL26 and reflash same rom or a back up you did.
I don't think it's the battery. It might be one of those one off things. Deleted something, did you do a clean install.
I was having problems with FK23 the first time booting after a fresh install. It took me 3 to 4 battery pulls to get it to boot. Cuz it boot looped or froze after the 4g screen.

I had a verified md5 download. New battery clean flash. Got it working no problem. I rebooted after pulling battery to put in another new battery that was charging externally. Won't go passed Samsung galaxy s2. jb seems to be an easy OS to Piss off. I hadn't even removed any apps. Just used Autostarts to stop some programs. Didn't stop systemui or anything. Just Tapatalk and a few other user app. And email. Just when you are changing something be near PC Odin. Just in case.

Wow, I feel stupid. I crossed my fingers and used Odin to flash a tar and everything is working again, so it seems it wasn't the battery causing the boot stick at all. So I guess the problem was the ROM, I will be getting a new battery within the next month in order to nip that in the bud and save myself from potential grief in the future. Thanks to everyone for the input, and be careful flashing out there!
Just went thru that exact same thing. I thought it may be the battery too. My battery was bad, so I got a brand new one & it didn't solve the issue. So I had to reset my phone. Sucked cuz I lost so much important stuff... )0:

the battery is fine i have tried another battery but it didnt work
Not so long ago i tried to be the boss and took another guy's i9000 to install CM10 for him, i nailed it, it installed and it was working perfectly fine, then after several reboots the phone got stuck in a bootloop, then it got stuck in recovery, then it got stuck on the samsung logo, and then it just died.(stopped charging) like having literally a brick in your hand, no response.
If you've done alot of mods to the phone I'm guessing something inside died, get your phone to warranty and say you cant turn it on, they'll just change the motherboard and give you the phone back, if you had any custom roms they will never know.
my phone has no warranty that i could claim so my only option is to somehow fix my gnex

Well as i said, you have probably damaged physically some component on the motherboard, it needs to be changed so you can't fix it, find a Service that fixes android devices and tell em it doesn't boot nor makes a reaction at all, they'll prolly say they will change the motherboard if they have one and thats it.
*Edit*
I remember there was a thing called "jtag" that was able to debrick devices broken in such ways. But Rarely do services have them.
Try fastboot, download mode or omap

[Q] DI2 Bricked. Possibly no fix unless hardware changes made

Hey what's up guys
I have here my DI2 of two years that I had S-Off, rooted, on MIUI ROM(was looking into changing it, but couldn't for reasons explained in a bit). About four months ago, it stopped reading any SD cards that it did recognize was insterted, but yeah, no reading. And yeah, of course, the USB port had to stop working too, of course. I bought an external batt charger for it and switched batts when needed. Perhaps I should've looked into fixing those problems before the phone bricked.
Anyway, I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary. Just checking up basketball scores and my phone just freezes at the home screen. So all I could do was take out the batt and put it in again. When I did that, it freezes on the HTC screen. Does it with both batts I have. And yeah it's a freeze as it's been stuck for running on 2 hours now. Occasionally, it will load up the Fastboot/Bootloader screen, but NONE of the options do anything, except Reboot and Power down. Can't get to any Recovery menu and it won't be able to read any SD if it did anyway. It has become a paperweight, a brick.
What can I do? Is my phone totally screwed? I'm pretty good at messing and fixing things through hardware. So if that's my only option, I can do it. Thanks in advance
Well if u have s-off theres really no way to get completely bricked unless it messes up ur bootloader. But if u can still get into bootloader with the two finger method power+volume down u can just flash the stock Ruu's via flashboot and u should be set. I believe there's also a brick tool floating around on here. Hope this helps. Thanks is greatly appreciated.

I've encountered this issue with many INC2, sounds like one of your IC chips are going bad. To be honest, if that is the case you're better of replacing the phone. That level of repair is very difficult. If it was just the charging port, I'd say go for it, but even replacing the SD Card slot is very difficult, the solder is underneath the the SD Card slot. I personally know how and have replaced the SD Card slot, but the IC chips are even very difficult for me. Try the charging port if you want, you can buy the part for about $5 and its a flex cable. As long as you can open it properly, you should be fine.

Dead P2

Tried to calibrate battery. During the night, I think battery went down to 0%, and now I am unable do charge the phone. It's stuck at Lenovo logo. When I plug in charger, nothing happends. No LED indicating that phone is charging. When I entered fastboot and press shut down, it shuts down. Then I again, plug in charger, red LED blinks for a second and it again shows Lenovo logo. Tried also connecting it to PC, no result. Can't enter the TWRP either.
Any ideas?
Edit:
Looks like I lost TWRP and rom, I have no idea what has happend. Now I cant install TWRP, I mean it shows proper installation but when I do fastboot reboot recovery - phone doesnt respond. The same with trying to flash stock rom. It flashes all chunks of rom+recovery, but after trying to reboot - BIG NOTHING.
I have a bad feeling that internal memory of my P2 had failed. It looks like my 5 yr journey with P2 has come to an end.
what about “fastboot boot twrp*.img” command? Is it getting stuck at Lenovo logo as well?

Yap, one day I was happily using new Android 13, everything was ok. For an almost 5yo phone - battery was ok I think. I managed one whole day, and in the evening I ususally had 20%. Next morning it died. Now I am waiting for a battery to discharge completely and I will try again to flash TWRP or stock rom. But I am not giving much hope.
Theoreticaly on adb says ok after flashing twrp. But when I try to enter twrp, vol+-, it gives me black screen, phone switches off.

Pretty odd. I don't think the battery went bad all of a sudden.
I have a P2 with a six year old battery that I have not replaced. I manage to get a day of use, but I should probably transfer important files right away.

I'll try one more method before I annouce my P2 as a dead phone. Its really sad as I looked around and am confuse what to choose next. I have an opportunity to buy another P2 in a great condition but on the other hand it will be still a 5yo phone. I saw it. It still runs android 7 as the owner did not have the knowledge to unlock bootloader. I also have Moto z3play in my drawer, with broken screen, I have a friend to help me replace it. Any advices welcome.

Really old phones might have unlocking problems. So that's something to be aware of.
I think you should buy a newer phone. Go for Motorola and low-budget since they only receive one OS upgrade with only a tiny chance of ROMs in the future.
I am back . I bought p2 with faulty screen and switched my screen to p2 with good mainboard. Now I wait for OEM unlock and I am alive
Great news, man. P2 will outlive us all !
