That is because you have twrp set to simulate actions rather than perform them. You need to adb push a rom zip to your sdcard, uncheck the box in settings that says simulate most actions, do a full wipe minus the sdcard and flash the rom zip.

Why are you trying to flash update.zip sometimes an error is telling you there is something wrong with what you're attempting to flash.

now i have no os on kindle ! so iwant to install stock rom on kindlefire from trwp recovery .. how i can ?
First let me say this STOP!!! That method for returning to stock is okay for the first gen device not the second gen. No wonder it keeps failing and probably better that it has. Keep the device charging in recovery or off till I can help you fix this without seriously bricking your kindle. You need to adb push Hashcodes flashable stock zip only not update.zip. Unless you don't care and you happen to need an extra paperweight .
I deleted the OS on my M8 while installing new custom roms. I have Clockwork Recovery installed but when I try to install a rom it always fails. I've tried wiping the phone/cache/sd card and different roms but nothing. Any help?
Maybe try TWRP recovery. Then you can flash a nandroid back up. There are lots posted here.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376

You can try one of two things:
1. Download a ROM zip file, and install it through recovery using "adb sideload <zip file name>".
2. Download a ROM zip file, place it on your SD card, and install from the SD card in recovery.

Thanks. Sideload failed also. I've tried adb pushing files onto my SD but it still fails when I try to install them.

That usually means that your ADB drivers have not been set up properly. This might help you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979.

Download this onto your phone.
Rename it to 0P6BIMG.zip (or just delete the TWRP_2.8.7.0_ part) and place it onto the root of your extSD.
Boot into bootloader, and select hboot if it doesn't do it automatically. Follow the prompts (vol up to flash, power button to reboot), and that's it.
After the recovery is flashed, delete the renamed file from your extSD. Otherwise every time you boot to hboot, it'll try to flash again.

No.
If you were rooted already, you could use TWRP Manager from the play store.
The only other way is with a PC and fastboot.

I'll look into it when I get home from work tonight, and I'll make a new zip if needed.
Or you could try zipping the recovery.img on your own.

Here is a new zip.
Use the instructions listed earlier (btw, the "0" is the number, not the letter).
I forgot to mention that your SDcard has to be formated to FAT32. EXFAT won't work. So be sure to do that first if you aren't already.

I do
Download attached 0P6BIMG.zip.
Put it on your microSD
boot to bootloader then select hboot or boot to hboot - it's your choice
hboot will scan the file and ask to volume up to update
volume up
finish, press power to reboot
remove the file from your sdcard
now you have TWRP 2.8.7.0 installed, done.
I will remove this file after you downloaded it because the android-info is for 6.12.709.4
Worked flawlessly.??Thanks for all the help.

No problem .. simple issue.
Remember .. on Marshmallow, never select to install SuperSU offered by TWRP, not working on MM.
You can try this to root : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64161125&postcount=3
Download SuperSU v.2.62-3-xxxxxx and install it in recovery. Again, never ever accept to root when offered by TWRP

Hi, I'm trying to do this same thing because I can't properly get ADB and Fastboot working on my windows 10 laptop. What's the "android-info" file, because I have the HTC One M8 on Verizon with Lollipop 5.0.1. The software number is 4.17.605.9. Thanks!
Hi Guys,
I need urgent help with this. My friend's phone suddenly won't turn on and shows "Encryption unsuccessful". Tried factory reset but shows error triangle, tried wipe cache and all but to no avail. As I have uploaded you can see below. Never rooted. I hope you guys will help because I'm at my wits end here since the phone have no custom rom if I rooted it. So no point. Please help me ASAP!

I'm good with it, simple coding would be great if you have a solution for this
download twrp from https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3wzFG_FuEb3UzVKWHJSekZuQTQ/view?usp=sharing
install it via fastboot [fastboot flash recovery twrp-m8eye-2.8.0.3 (1).img] use the command inside the bracket, download this backup from http://1drv.ms/1WkbudN now for the back to work well i suggest that you create a backup of your cache on your sd card so that you can have the correct directories to copy the backup to, usually its TWRP/BACKUPS/YOUR SERIAL NUMBER/BACKUP FILES, if you wish to root flash supersu zip from chainfire,

If it still under warranty then send it in ... this usually means the data partition is corrupted.
If it is unlocked, formatting data partition in TWRP recovery will fix it but this is non-rooted stock device, so the best option is HTC service centre.
i cannot install anything in TWRP atm
it says "could not find ´META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary´in zip file.
Any bright ideas ?

Probably a bad flashing and you are needing repari partitions, for that I recommend start from beginning again:
- flash miui rom for fastboot (unpack zip rom in your adb folder for better performance, connect device to pc into mode fastboot, be sure device be recogniced typing; fastboot devices then right click mouse and execute like admin over "flash all".
- then to install rom you can flash again twrp via fastboot typing any place adb folder and placing file recovery.img this folder; fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
- then go to recovery with hardware keys and flash supersu v.2.79

two things; I assume that trying to flash from extSD, if yes with file explorer of recovery copy to internal memory, maybe an issue to reading extSD, also you can to install a newer version of recovery 3.0.3.2 works sometimes for me and last here you have a reading page about install fastboot on mac (nightmare) http://www.stechguide.com/setup-adb-and-fastboot-on-mac-easy-step-by-step-guide/
