Bricked device help - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I rooted my Zenfone 2 and unlocked the bootloader (not in that order) and went to flash a custom ROM onto it but when I wiped my OS I realized that I missed a step and forgot to load a new ROM on the sd card. Now I have no OS and when I tried to flash stock ROM to it via ADB sideload it just boots to fast boot mode and when I try to go to recovery, it just reboots to fast boot mode. I hope there it's something that can be done.

Get the raw image and the asus flash tool. And flash that. That will get you back to stock. You'll have to start over again with unlocking etc.

Are there instructions on how to do this? Also, is there a way to tell which SKU I need?

Flash Stock Rom Asus_Z00AD

Hey everyone! This is my first post to XDA forums EVER, and I need a lot of help since I'm a newbie to how Android flashing works, so go easy on me
So as the title suggests, I want to flash my Asus Zenfone 2 with the stock rom. My current build number is: LRX21V.WW-ASUS_Z00A-2.20.40.97_20150917_1572_user044030427_201501060109
The reason I want to flash the stock rom again is because I removed some of the bloatware from my phone (such as BBL actors for omlet) and other crap, but some of it won't let me reinstall, and because of me removing some of the bloatware crap, I can't use some features on my phone. I've tried flashing supposed stock roms before for my phone from a windows CMD prompt, but they failed to write (for whatever reason?).
I'm rooted with some 1-tap windows cmd prompt thing, have a locked bootloader (thats the thing to install custom roms, right?) and the stock recovery (tried using the TWP app to flash the TWP recovery, but it didn't seem to work, and would just leave the normal recovery?)
I've come here for the intelligent minds to help me out! Please help lol
Have you tried to use adb sideload command into recovery mode?

You have to flash the stock recovery, then, enter in recovery mode an flash the official ROM via cmd. You can follow this tutorial www.asuszenfoneblog.com/2015/04/how-to-flash-asus-zenfone-2-via-adb.html
Hope this can help you.

Won't that just update the O.S? I heard ADB sideload in the recovery just updates the O.S to a newer version? And why would this work, but not fastboot? Alsol, does ADB sideload work if USB debugging is off?

No I thought it would be good to backup the current stock Rom before unlocking the boot loader. I was gonna do that after backup but this problem showed up. Boot loader is locked for now

Yeah, always unlock your bootloader first before flashing any kind of recovery.
Follow this thread to fix your problem.

Okay, not enough information, since you are using cwm temporary I am guessing you have not unlocked your boot loader which will cause the fail, can you get into the bootloader?
If you can follow the instructions and download the current rooted Rom and follow instructions to flash the stock rom

You can't flash asus firmware with cwm.
You can unbrick with adb sideload.
See THIS GUIDE how to sideload
I am done here, if you choose to follow advice to try using temp cwm to fix your phone I am sure you fail, your best solution is to use bootloader to flash, everything you need is in this thread, if you choose not to do the proper research before you start flashing things without doing the proper research before then you are beyond help here.

it says in device manager " asus android bootloader interference"
and in the phone its says normal boot and there is icon of open android/
and it written in blue "continue the fast boot process
try "fastboot devices"
if it answers than try flashing twrp or stock recovery
command to flash recovery "fastboot flash recovery filename.img"
after that u can try to flash custom rom using twrp or stock rom via twrp or stock firmware using adb sideload
I manage to make it work and install cm 13 the latest nightly.but when I make a call or receive one the phone reboots itself. What is the problem? Thanks
try factory resetting it

Flashing raw file with AFT relocks the bootloader. You need to unlock it again.
