We dhont hawe root for Lolipop 5
I have not had a proper look at the state of root in recent weeks, but as far as I am aware root on Android 5.0 may well require a kernel modification rather than just simply injecting files into /system/ - if true, without Bump! we won't ever be able to get root on the G3 with Android L.
Nexus5 can root on Android L

that post is from June and was for a developer preview of L, the final release is not the same as that early preview!
Moreover the thread itself confirms that the root method for June L version doesn't work anymore!
Just got my LG G3 D858 (Dual Sim) yesterday.
Just wondering, LG will release Lollipop soon right? should I root now or just wait for the 5.0 update?

I would root right now while you have the chance and install a custom lollipop rom.
After the official lollipop gets released by LG it will lock your bootloader, If you already have it unlocked.
Also it's rumored that root may not work on the G3 after the official lollipop update.

Thanks for the advice.
Yeah im planning to root now.. problem is.. I dont think other ROMs would work for the D858 variant. (Dual Sim)
Is it possible to get OTA while being rooted?

I think CloudyG3 1.2 -=- [All Variants] might work for you as a custom rom, He hasn't released lollipop version yet, It's still on 4.4.2 for now.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/rom-cloudyg3-1-0-t2917467
But when he does release the lollipop version it will be rooted!! and you will still have your bootloader unlocked!!
This is the rom I'm waiting for on my D852 since I'm pretty much in the same boat as you when it comes to not much development for my model.
You will lose root or bootloop if you OTA while rooted.
I've seen a lot of people get their G3's stuck in a bootloop from accepting a OTA while bootloader is unlocked too.
Personally I would just avoid any OTA's for now and stick with stock 4.4.2 or a custom rom, I'm itching to try lollipop too, sooo bad. but it's not worth being locked down!!

Yeah, it's because you have the 11c software instead of the stock 10b. You need to flash the original firmware. Google xda g3 stock 10b and you'll find out how to do it.

just look for your specific stock firmware. There are threads on xda showing you which roots work on which versions.

yup. I saw the spreadsheet file, stumproot is suppose to work, but I did an OTA update, which patched my device.
I've already contacted the dev, hopefully he can help me out.

Dont even bother with that. Find your stock firmware and put your phone into download mode and use LG Flash Tool to flash to stock. Try googling what I just described, and you will be able to root to your pleasure.

Dude please, there are tons of root threads on XDA. Stock Lollipop cannot be rooted atm, you`ll have to flash a custom Lollipop rom with a custom recovery for that. Just look in the General thread for rooting methods.
I have been searching all over to find out if it's possible to root the Verizon lg g4 on the latest update...some say yes and some say no....I basically want access to my file system and to change fonts and such....not worried about roms unless it is possible to get these on the newest update. Please let me know for sure if its possible. Thanks in advance ...

It has 13b root method. Screw mm there is no root for mm. If there was you see alot of post here on xda about it
I would like to root my LG G4 H818N, but understand that I won't be able to root MM. So is there a clean ROM available which makes no changes to the default LG G4 system - all I want is the root and not extra features.
Also link to a thread which explains the steps of downgrading to LP would be appreciated.

Yep, but after that there would be ROM's available with MM? I am looking for an MM rom with root support, especially the default LG one with root.

As raptor stated. Some users have reported hardbricking when downgrading to a incompatible qfused version. Make sure u can downgrade before just dling older firmware and flashing.
Thanks raptorddd and TheMadScientist420. So there is no way I can use MM after rooting? That is a bit disappointing.
Regarding antirollback, when I use *#*#244773825625#*#* I get Anti-rollback as 0, so I am assuming that my devices is good for downgrading, if I choose to?
Also any way to use Amazon Prime video after rooting?

mine is h811 says antirollback V3 when i was in lollipop said V2. so you must be okey if you are in latest MM and has 0 means you can.. once in lollipop you can root. but theres is a process called injection you will be injecting a system.img that is rooted.. takes a little reading to understand.
