We dhont hawe root for Lolipop 5

I have not had a proper look at the state of root in recent weeks, but as far as I am aware root on Android 5.0 may well require a kernel modification rather than just simply injecting files into /system/ - if true, without Bump! we won't ever be able to get root on the G3 with Android L.

Nexus5 can root on Android L

that post is from June and was for a developer preview of L, the final release is not the same as that early preview!

Moreover the thread itself confirms that the root method for June L version doesn't work anymore!

[Q] Update to lolipop

Can I update to Lolipop directly instead of updating: -> 10L -> Lolipop?
If yes, what is the best way for me to update, since I'm rooted with Xposed Framework, stock bootloader
Thanks in advance!
Also would like to know.. Up*

If you are using the final build of the Android L KDZ then you'll be fine to flash it from any version as the KDZ contains all necessary files. @autoprime has confirmed on his twitter feed that this update does not implement anti-rollback so you should be fine to downgrade and Bump in the future if you want. Hope this helps!
But I'm not using the final build of Android... I'm asking if I can upgrade to lollipop, when it's officially out, instead updating to 10L and then update to Lollipop

I said the Lollipop update contains all necessary files. The final KDZ is what they will push when Android L gets officially updated on your device, or a TOT or .dpkg. You will not need to update in between as you never do inbetween major system updates. If an official update ever has dependencies, it will not let you update without them so don't worry. You would be able to jump from any version you like to Android L. Like I said though, we will have a ported version of Android L long before the official update. Also, although @autoprime has confirmed the release of Android L for the D855 does not implement anti-rollback, this does not mean that other variants will not implement something to keep us from going back to previous software versions, then you may be stuck with Android L but no root or TWRP permanently. I can not emphasize enough how much I do not agree with taking any official updates if you are the slightest bit interested in root or custom roms for you phone.
Also, you only get notified if someone directly quotes a post of yours or if you mention someone by username using @ like I did for @autoprime above.
If I've helped, hit the thanks button!

If you want to update officially with the KDZ, the best option is this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2799647
Just use the tool and official KDZ to ensure everything is wiped and completely updated.
There is already a rooted Android L .zip ready to flash via TWRP that is available in the General G3 Development thread. Good luck with either route.
Love you.

Thank you so much! Finally someone who gave me a perfect answer for all my questions! Thanks again! By the way my model is indeed 855 international. Is the released Android L KDZ the official one? because I wanted the fully stable version released by LG...

His twitter feed Auto(utoprime) shows recent tweets where he bolded the fact that it does not implement it.
https://mobile.twitter.com/utoprime
It's a few tweets down and it specifically says the D855 20A update does not use anti-rollback.
did LG?

Did LG already released the fully stable 5.0 update? And If they release it, it will be released by KDZ?

Root now or wait for Lollipop?

Just got my LG G3 D858 (Dual Sim) yesterday.
Just wondering, LG will release Lollipop soon right? should I root now or just wait for the 5.0 update?

I would root right now while you have the chance and install a custom lollipop rom.
After the official lollipop gets released by LG it will lock your bootloader, If you already have it unlocked.
Also it's rumored that root may not work on the G3 after the official lollipop update.

Thanks for the advice.
Yeah im planning to root now.. problem is.. I dont think other ROMs would work for the D858 variant. (Dual Sim)
Is it possible to get OTA while being rooted?

I think CloudyG3 1.2 -=- [All Variants] might work for you as a custom rom, He hasn't released lollipop version yet, It's still on 4.4.2 for now.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/rom-cloudyg3-1-0-t2917467
But when he does release the lollipop version it will be rooted!! and you will still have your bootloader unlocked!!
This is the rom I'm waiting for on my D852 since I'm pretty much in the same boat as you when it comes to not much development for my model.
You will lose root or bootloop if you OTA while rooted.
I've seen a lot of people get their G3's stuck in a bootloop from accepting a OTA while bootloader is unlocked too.
Personally I would just avoid any OTA's for now and stick with stock 4.4.2 or a custom rom, I'm itching to try lollipop too, sooo bad. but it's not worth being locked down!!

Yeah, it's because you have the 11c software instead of the stock 10b. You need to flash the original firmware. Google xda g3 stock 10b and you'll find out how to do it.

just look for your specific stock firmware. There are threads on xda showing you which roots work on which versions.

yup. I saw the spreadsheet file, stumproot is suppose to work, but I did an OTA update, which patched my device.
I've already contacted the dev, hopefully he can help me out.

Dont even bother with that. Find your stock firmware and put your phone into download mode and use LG Flash Tool to flash to stock. Try googling what I just described, and you will be able to root to your pleasure.

Thanks for your help guys. I was able to downgrade and root successfully.
After rooting, there's an OTA available. Will I lose root if i install OTA?
I'd root now, the rooting is so easy nowadays.

You need to downgrade to KitKat, root it and after that you can choose some prerooted version of lollipop.
Use LG Flash Tool to flash KK and after that you can root it, i used PurpleDrake
Don't root it

You should root if it has a specific purpouse or lets you do stuff you can`t do now AND you know what you`re doing, just my 2 cents
Btw you can restore to stock easily if needed, LG doen`t have a root flag like Samsung.

Dude please, there are tons of root threads on XDA. Stock Lollipop cannot be rooted atm, you`ll have to flash a custom Lollipop rom with a custom recovery for that. Just look in the General thread for rooting methods.

Root request

I have the LG G4 H815P Running marshmallow and i have searched and tried all the methods i have come across on how to root but still no success. Any help is much appreciated.
Probably the best way to root is down grade to 5.1.1 and root from that you can use LG up to do this.

no root for marsh mallow yet... and as for root in lollipop you first need to know what antirollback you have before downgradin and bricking your phone... use the hidden menu go to software and antirollback version.. i beleive if you in MM and has 0 then you are okey but if you have V2 maybe V3 then you cant.. unless you on V2 and lollipop is in V2 as well.
