Hi,
I have a problem with premium SMS (shortcode numbers).
Somehow, I block this option (one I try to sent SMS on short number, I chose "NO and remember" or something like that) and aafter that I can not sent any message on any short number.
I think - this option is called Premium SMS.
I saw in some other phone models, it can be set or reset in Messages app settings, byt I have not this option in my phone.
Phone is LG G3 - D855, Android 6.0
I try tio sent mail to LG support, byt local technical support (Croatia and Serbia) - they dont know!!! ???
Thank you

I'm sure I've seen a Setting for this somewhere around the phone -- try the Settings app, Phone and Messaging apps.
I don't have time to look for it now but I'm sure you'll find it.

I tryed to change:
Settings/Apps/Messaging/Storage/Clear cashe
Settings/Apps/Messaging/Storage/Clear data
Settings/Apps/Messaging/Permissions
Settings/Apps/Messaging/Force stop
I also tried:
Settings/Reset app preferences/Reset
And change everything in:
Messaging/Settings/Reset settings
Messaging/Settings/Text messages
Messaging/Settings/General settings
but still no work!
I dont find "Premium messages" anywhere.
Maybe it's a setting in your carrier settings? Do you have an app placed on your phone by your SIM card?

I said to look for the Setting in all the apps I listed, not to start clearing the cache.
The setting on Android 7.1.1 can be found in the Special Access settings for apps from the Settings menu.
So it's setup as a permission, as opposed to app setting, as was in previous versions of Android.
Just type SMS in the search of the app.

No, sorry. In ndroid 6.0 there are no some like "special Access settings.
May I, somehow reinstal Android app - "Messaging"?

Yes in Android 6.0 the setting is in a different place but it is still somewhere around.
Just type SMS in the search field of the Settings app.
There is no point in reinstalling the app, you already cleared your cache which means there is a setting saved somewhere that is overriding the behaviour, reinstalling the app won't help in that case as said setting will still be there.

Sorry for the late answer. Seems like my memories of Android 6.0 are hazy and the menu is somewhere else as I mentioned.
Seems like quite a few people can't find it since the Setting is burried deeper than usual: https://www.google.bg/search?q=andr...ndroid-google&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8
This links in particular seems to hold a good answer:

In earlier android you need to edit system app
Message services - there's a permissions section
(When viewing apps select show system apps in right hand corner)
I need to change mine but it's the newer version of android and the permission settings have moved ...still looking

Are you asking about Android 7.0?
Settings -> Apps -> Click the gear icon -> Special Access (it's under the Advanced tab at the bottom, not in App Permissions) -> Premium SMS Access

Hi,
I'm sorry if this has been answered before, I tried searching but I wasn't really sure what keywords to search for exactly....
Also I don't know if this is an ICS specific thing or not, since the Galaxy Nexus is my first Android device, which is why I'm asking here
Anyway, with that out of the way... When you click on a link in an app, say Gmail, it prompts you which app to use to open it. For example for youtube links I get the option of Browser, Youtube app, etc.
Is it possible to modify what is listed here? For example I have ICS Browser+ installed, so i really don't want to see the stock browser in this list...
Hopefully this is something easy enough to do
(BTW my device is rooted, if that is needed, and running 4.0.1)
Thanks in advance
Sorry no, you can't shorten that list. You can choose one app to always open that specific "action", then there won't be a list at all. But if you don't want that I don't know any other option other than uninstalling/disable the unwanted apps in setting > apps.
As long as you have options, you cant shorten the list. Set up your defaults and change them if you need to.
An easy app to help with setting up defaults: "DEFAULT APP MANAGER LITE" its free!

That's a shame, I dont want to set a default because I will use different apps depending on what I want to do.
Oh well, no big deal I can live with that.
Thanks for the info.
Uploading photos to facebook does not work for me.
The behavior is the same both when selecting photo upload from the facebook app, or when chosing to share to facebook from the gallery.
The upload progress in statusbar looks good and finishes, but then an error message is displayed in the statusbar that the transfer failed.
When initiating the upload from facebook a "popup" mesage that the photo could not be added is also displayed.
I tried wipe facebook cache and data and reinstall the app but that didn't solve anything.
I'm on AOKP build25 & franco kernel 18.6.
Anyone else with the same problem?
/Fredrik

Did you try clearing the app's cache? Logging back in and trying to upload a pic again?
Yes, I wiped cache and data and even reinstalled the app.

Facebook's app is the worst written in Android history. It isn't your fault- they just can't write an update without breaking something. It's a known issue.
Possible solution
It's maybe a little late to offer a solution, but today I finally found out what could be the problem:
I normally share my pictures with "All friends, except ... " (please excuse wrong translation; don't know how it's called in English) and all my picture uploads failed without exception. Today I wanted to share a picture with "All" my friends and... it work perfectly! I tried some more and it seems my problems are gone.
So my possible solution:
-> You have to share with "all", not with some groups or with excluded people. The Facebook App and mobile site is too stupid to work with its own lists.
When creating a new post, just tap the little gear in the lower right corner and select share with "all". It's no solution for pics you don't want to show everyone of course, but it's the only workaround that allows you to upload at all.
After trying a couple things, such as clearing the app data/cache, reinstalling the app from the market, etc. I suspect that this is related more to the APN settings on the phone. I tested this by switching the APN on my AT&T Galaxy Nexus from the Tweakker APN settings (failed to upload pics/videos) to the original CINGULAR 410 (works like a charm, although it takes forever to upload). For reference, the Tweakker settings had the APN as "phone".
Hope this helps.

it is enough to only have one list of selfmade friend list. U do not have to share to "all" but u can make list of friends that can see your pictures, call it for example "see mypic friends" and only have that in the . But if u share it to: "see mypic friends" and "mom and dad" at the same it fails
So when I go to the market website and click on My Apps it only lists apps up to the 'M's... anything past that I can't see.
I use this page to re-install apps when changing devices / after resets.
Is there any way to see a listing of all of my apps?
Don't know if this helps, but if you install the newest play app (i posted the apk here somewhere), it has the same kinda page now (an all apps installed history), you could install from there?

Thanks, I will check that out! Although I think using a KB/Mouse on my PC would still be more convenient than finger-scrolling and tapping on the phone screen :/
At least that should get me access to everything I'm missing.
My suggestion is,
1. delete market data and cache
2. From settings > sync settings > select google deatails > remove account
3. reboot
4. create your google account again
5. from market, check it again.
Hope this work.
Question - are you using market unlocker?

My bad kingdazy.
I've just checked out to find the installed apps from PC.
It seems like there are two ways.
1. from the market home page > My Adnroid Apps (from there we can reinstall the apps) - alphabetical order
(this one shows the history even the apps are uninstalled, those are there)
2. Google account dashboard > Android Market > installed applications (most recent first)
So, if you compare these two lists and if you find anything missing, then you'd better to contact Google support team. If both are the same, maybe there're gonna be none who can help you.
My two cents.
The first list is missing everything after the M's...
The second list has them all though... I'll use that for a work-around for now
I'm having an issue with apps on sd not showing up after a reboot. I have to clear data to get them to show again. This new market is annoying.

Does anyone know which app's cache or data I have to clear for the picture to go back to the stock black and gray one that came with the update? I recently deleted my Google+ account and disabled the app yet the picture's still there.

I didn't have an entry so I made one and then deleted it. Didn't work. Also, I'm unable to clear the phone-related system file's caches.
Mine was empty. Dont use google±
I think zou have to remove your account by wiping some app data. Please Google for that. Then re-enable your Google account after you disabled g+
If you want to keep g+ maybe someone knows a workaround but for now I don't know another solution.
Oh one thought: In Google you have a contact picture remove it if possible or try to remove your g+ picture, But it seems to be difficult because the phone uses the picture from the Google account.
Without a workaround in android it won't work I think.
local profile
I use Google+ but mine was empty as well. I had to create a local profile in order to get the picture. Since it's separate from my gmail profile, I'm able to simply delete the local profile. I'd actually like to link my local profile with my only profile.
Did you ever figure this out? I even tried deleting the "me" contact in the People application and re-creating it, but the picture remains. If I tap it, it opens the contact that I deleted and re-created, which doesn't have the picture, so I have no idea where the stupid thing is saved.

it probably gets stored in some frameworks cache, idk. account manager, backup transport, one of those.
it would be probably be easier to just wipe data, but i can understand you don't want to.

so i've found the default png picture but the colors are wrong when i set it as my picture in g+ any ideas?
also would it be possible just to block the profile picture in the hosts file? the url is https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-f_nXrseaXzE/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAXw/Lk7vV7OntKY/s120-c/photo.jpg
nevermind found a workaround what i did:
make sure you have never installed google+ and the picture is still stock, make a backup in recovery, reboot, install google+ go trough all the steps until you see your circles (profile picture doesn't matter at this point, choose anything you like or leave it stock), go to settings -> sync -> disable google+, install carbon, make a complete backup of google+ app, go to recovery, restore your old rom without google+, install carbon there if it isn't installed, restore google+ app, the profile picture will not be synced since syncing is disabled
edit: it synced after a while, not working
So Gmail started this thing (not sure when), where it uses a built in browser to handle all links and URL. I assume this is based off chrome, and that's fine if it worked.... BUT IT DONT!
Half the time I get this (see pics) when trying to open a link, and when it does manage to load a page, objects/links all over the page refuse to work. This sucks as I use my Gmail for ALOT of things.
I've tried long holding the links and selecting "open in browser" but I get this stupid built in thing again. Sometimes I can copy the link and open and paste in chrome, but sometime it will just copy the image instead of the link so I end up downloading a picture of the link I want to visit.
I've tried disabling the browser option in Google settings for Google search, but it seems to not affect gmail.
For example today I got an email saying a bill was due, it had a "click here to pay" link. I click on the link, but only get this continuous loading screen. I tried to "open in browser" same thing. So I tried coping URL and pasting in chrome, but only managed to download "xxxx/xx/x/payment.jpg" I wasn't able to actually visit the link hours later when I was near a PC.
So In short my question is.....
How can I disable Gmail's useless built in browser.
Sorry for repeating a bunch of things.

I wonder if this has to do with the default handling of links? As in, under Android Settings, Apps, App Settings, "Browser App".
So I have found out it's a chrome thing, not Gmail. Noticed this when I went to open a link in an app and I got the same window.
I cleared all data from chrome, went to Gmail and tried to open a link, and it presented me with full screen chrome, but after logging back in to chrome and reopening the link in gmail again it gave me that bull crap floating windows thing. It reminds me of paranoid androids halo feature.
Anyways, I can't find anything in chrome regarding this.

Chrome is the only browser type application I have installed, and my settings are the exact same as pictured. Sadly I'm still having the problem. I guess I'm going to swap out chrome for another application. Possibly yubrowser or some "Qualcomm optimized browser" to see if it persist.

Is "Android System WebView" frozen in titanium backup for you?
Something interesting. I was browsing this thread and noticed this...

No it is not. I only use titanium to freeze and defrost my smart watch apps (pebble, martian notifier) so I don't have persistent notifications. Thanks for the help but this is getting irritating.

Correction, it is!
However it's weird because I personally didn't freeze it, and it's not allowing me to defrost it. I can see the option "enable web view" in the play store, but when I select it nothing happens and it remains frozen/disabled.

OK. You want that to remain frozen. I'm pretty sure you need to change the Developer Options I posted earlier in order to actually defrost it, but it wouldn't help you in this situation anyway. I can find a few other threads of people having a similar issue, but with no fix listed.

Doesn't look like it. Well I'm going to keep this updated with any info i find. I may try rolling back chrome a few versions.
It seems I'm also no longer able to open play store links through the play store either, This stupid browser implementation takes it over without asking a thing. No defualts are set, this is taking away some real functionality from my device.
