Wireless charger suggestions? - LG G6 Accessories

Seen a lot of different ones on amazon and ebay. Just wondering what wireless chargers are worth getting.

I use Samsung's wireless charging stand, since I had it already from my S7. It works great with the G6.

I wonder why LG did come out with some new stuff for the LG G6?
Samsung had a bit of new Qi chargers( Dex), headphones..etc?

Is the fast wireless charging working on it? I read somewhere fast wireless charging doesn't work on Samsung's chargers

LG has their own mew fast charging unit. But they did not include the tech in yhe LG G6 they'll leave it for the v30 im sure. Imo if im wirelessly charging I'm not trying to fast charge anyhow. I've used many and IMO almost all built the same. Some have 3 coils for easier placement and some are smaller to take up less room. I literally just ordered this. 20% coupon code too. Plus Amazon 30 day return policy is amazing. For testing stuff. Not at all my video or advertising just sharing my experience.

I went with the CHOETECH Qi Model T513 wireless charger. Works great. I don't like stand chargers because I have kids and I'm sure they'd manage to knock my phone off of it... repeatedly. () I chose this one because it was decently priced, only about $20, and works great. Also has nearly all great reviews.

It just shows as standard charging, but typically I only need to charge my G6 at the end of the day and let it charge overnight, so I don't mind. If I need a quick charge, I just use the type C charger.

I got the CHOETECH T811C. It's cheap and seems pretty solid. Works through my case with no problems. I don't have any issues trying to find a "sweet spot" for it to start charging either, like I had with a previous charger.

I bought two chargers. One for work and one for home (bedside).
I use this one at work (the charge light was too bright in the room at night):

This one at home:

So far, I'm very happy with both.

I've had this for a couple years now and just pulled it out the closet. I recently picked up a G6 and thought I'd give it a shot. To my surprise, it worked like a charm. I haven't noticed how fast it charges because I leave on overnight just because it's easier to deal with in the dark. I haven't noticed any heating issues as it doesn't seem hot when I remove it. All in all it has worked well for me.

I too use this charger. Works great for me.
EDIT: Used to work. Now it works for about 30 seconds and then flashes error. I think that it might be because of my case. Not sure thought as I'm not going to take my case off every time I charge.
I also have one of these https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Wire...sr=8-1&keywords=samsung+wireless+fast+charger It works fine even with my case. It didn't work well for my G4 and the tylt worked well with it not my G6 works well with my samsung and not with my tylt. Go figure.

I have two of the vertical stands chargers from Seneo. Phone sits on its all day at work, and all night when sleeping. NEVER gets hot. Definitely recommend and purchased off Amazon. I wish it didn't have such a bright charging indicator light on it or at least the option to shut it off, but nothing a little black marker can't fix.

I had a cheapie Adrema, surprise it works and charges at 1.5 amps, faster than my original Samsung wireless ones. My G6 also works with my Belkin one.

I use this wireless charging stand by Choetech: https://www.amazon.com/CHOETECH-Wireless-Charging-Qi-enabled-Included/dp/B010B6PSMC/

Any good with a soldering iron?
A resistor of ~330 ohms 1/8 watt in series with the LED will dim it to what should be a suitable level.
Maybe I tinker with stuff too much

I can solder, not great but doable. Although in this case it's not remotely worth it. If I were to open this up I'd just disconnect the light altogether.

Yeah I get ya.
But I'd just have to get inside, the over-bright LED would do my head in. I bet it's blue too...?
I definitely tinker too much.

Hi,
I have recently bought choetech wireless charger for my g6. The charger also comes with micro USB charging cable. What i love most is that this wireless charger comes with integrated smart chip inside it that resist the wireless charger pad from overheating.

The official Samsung wireless charger seems to work pretty good and comes with it's own micro usb wall plug. It's on sale for $9.99.

I walked into a Best Buy and ask them for a price match. The price match was approved quickly.

Purchased Qi charger off Aliexpress and taped inside picture frame. Had to remove glass for reliable 1 amp charging. Phone held in place on the edge of inner frame.

You may encounter trouble because of the One's all-metal body. Your case will need to completely isolate the coil from the body for this to work, if memory serves me right. Admittedly, it is aluminum, so I'm not altogether certain it will be an issue.

I would really like to see something like this. A couple of challenges I think would be keeping the plug area on the bottom to as thin as possible and second would be to keep the case as thin and small as possible.
I wish you luck!

Post pics of it on the phone and let us know what kind of charger your using. It looks like you could rip off that coil and place it in any case if it's thin .
Definitely report on results. I tried to make something like this for my One XL, and while it worked as far as charging went, it was unpredictable and seemed to make the phone unstable, though I could never figure out why. I suspect it's not just the charging current but that the phone's charging circuits and drivers need to be tuned for wireless.

It is very slim and unnoticeable behind a tpu case, the connected usb does not stick out that far either

Thanks for letting us know about this. I'd not seen that, but it looks like just what I'd like to try and fit between my phone and case. The lack of wireless charging was the biggest reason I held off switching from my DNA to the One. I love the convenience of just plopping my phone on the orb charger during the day. this may not sound like the most logical idea, but isn't it possible to somehow use NFC for wireless charging, since NFC is about near field communication after all?

A quick tip for the add on qi pads with the HTC one, as the USB is not in the middle you can't position the pad straight up or the curved back makes it hard to get a connection. Put it on a bit of a diagonal so the pad is in the centre of the back

CHOE Qi wireless charging pad questions

Hi all
I've been looking for a really cheap wireless charging pad for this amazing tablet cause they about $140 in the store by me in South Africa. I found this one but I was wondering if anyone has had experiance with it. How well does it work and how does it connect to the wall as we use different plugs in South Africa and we also work at 220v.
Basically I wanna know if it would be compatible with the tablet and with South Africa's systems?
I live in New York, USA. I bought one but it's shipping from China so it'll take a while to get to me. However, I will report back once I get it and try it out.
I'll tell you my experience but I have absolutely no idea if it'll work with South African systems / utilities / electric configurations or not.
It is powered by a USB cable. Thus, if you have a power brick that's compatible to power USB devices I'm sure it'll work fine.
P.S. As a little FYI the white version is slightly cheaper if that matters for anyone.

Took exactly 7 Business days for it to arrive to me (Ordered Aug 11th evening arrived Aug 20th). Right now it's charging my Nexus 7 (2013). It's maintaining charge rate even with the screen on the entire time (using instant messaging / texting); I'm not really using anything too battery intensive.
So far so good. I'll put it through the wringer for the next week so we'll see if it acts funny or stops working. However, for the past 30 minutes it's been okay.
What case are you using with it?
Edit: nvm, saw your other post, can you recommend a case similar to it in the same price range

Yeah I'm looking for another case or possibly a sleeve. I'm seeing what turns out in a thread about the Poetic and the Moko
For those who are interested in this topic the case Blade Zero was referring to that I have was the rooCASE Dual-View which does NOT work with the CHOE Qi charger.

So after using it for a few days, it's pretty good. I've used the CHOE with my Samsung Galaxy S III (i747) with the Qi receiver and my Nexus 7 2013
One minor annoyance is that the CHOE device itself has a blinking blue LED to indicate when it's charging. I don't know if that's something other people would like, but personally I find it redundant since my devices will say on their screen if they're charging or with an LED indicator themselves. This matters for me for 2 reasons: a) My phone blinks with a blue LED to indicate when I've received a new text message, so this throws me off there, and b) I am an energy Nazi at times, and when I see that blinking blue LED go off when I hook it up to my solar panels, I feel like that's energy not going into my battery reserves or in my phone / Nexus's battery.
The Nexus 7 2013 does charge at a decent rate, but during energy intensive operations (streaming with ChromeCast, IM chatting on Skype, and browsing the web), it did lose charge faster than it was gaining through Qi, which didn't happen under the same system demands when charging through USB cable. However, under normal use, without excessive abuse as previously mentioned, the CHOE Qi charger was able to charge up to par.
Only complaint I have is that I wish the surface of the device was some sort of rubber instead of hard plastic, because if my devices aren't on a flat surface they can easily slip out of place (or completely off the device) and discontinue charging. I've done a splendid job by jury rigging the device with rubber bands!!! to prevent my devices from slipping off.
For a budget Qi Charger I'd say it was definitely worth it, and probably going to be harder to find a deal. It also came with a USB micro B cable with the Charger, with a length of about that of the stock Nexus 7 2013 cable.
My current Nexus 4 qi mat works perfect with my new nexus 7. Worth a look if you use multiple Android wireless charging capable devices.

Look for the Morceo TX-5600. It is the EXACT same 10,000mah wireless charger as the Choe one, as they are both made by the same manufacturer.
Shipping is fast from Choe, I had mine within a week, just know that the black one has a GOLD band around the side, it is not mat or bronze like it looks in the pics, it is GOLD. At any rate, mine from China arrived in a weeks time via Amazon. The Morceo version (Identical) is on Amazon & ships from Amazon, for $60.00.

That's an extraordinarily high price when you can pick up the same thing from Ebay for less than $20! My Nexus 7 goes on this one each night, with its Asus case fitted, and is fully charged by next morning:

It's plugged into the charger that came with the Nexus.
Use Wireless charging with Slimport
Has anyone used a wireless charger with a slimport connected and outputting to a TV? The stock charger connected to the device doesn't charge my Nexus 7. It slowly discharges instead. I wanted to know if I can keep the Device on a wireless charging pad while connected to slimport.
if anyone has both the hardware, can u please try it and out provide your review.
Thanks

PIMT! I ordered the black one, as even though I like the idea of white electronics, I feel like they're too "attention-grabbing". Also, I think the black one was cheaper when I ordered it.

Thanks. Any idea which one I should look at getting? Haven't seen a good enough shot of the micro USB port to make sure I get one facing the right direction. I've got Amazon Prime so I'll probably get one from there to test.

That one is on Amazon, Prime, and has 2 different models. Anyone seen a close enough photo to know which one we'd need? Port A or Port B?
I'm going to try to find one with a metal plug instead of this plastic one.
This one has tons of different options. Less than $11 on prime.

Im using this one; http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HI8JYFE/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
No problems after all. Working OK with my F400K
So now its working? Awesome! Buying 2 right now.
Mine works as well, I have this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IQ2GUFI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
BUT it only works if i have the receiver stuck on the back of the phone in between it and the phone case. If I have it on top of the battery the signal doesn't make it through.. perhaps because of the curved nature of the phone and the NFC receiver on the inside of the back cover.
I was always under the impression that NFC and wireless charging interfered with each other unless it was one integrated unit. That's probably why yours only works that way.
Well I got mine and tried it out, and while it does work, kind of, I'm sending them back. The cable ribbon is so thin it feels like it is going to rip, it would also need you to bend it at a bad angle to get it inside a case or inside the back. I can't get a GOOD charging connection with my TYLT VU chargers, so it is going back.

The cable ribbon is probably thin because you need to bend it at weird/sharp angles and it has to fit in the cracks of the back or case. As long as you're not constantly pulling on it, there's really no risk of tearing. Connections are fine with my $20 chargers, I can drop it on pretty much anywhere in the vicinity of the receiver and it'll charge.
Charge rate depends on which receiver you go with. Most, including the ones posted here, are 500mA which is kind of slow. I should be getting an 800mA one soon so hopefully that'll pick up the pace. IMO, these are still better than switching to PMA.
Its not so much the thin that bothers me, it is how flimsy it is. I mean it could have some reinforcement of some kind you'd think. And it leaves the pad really low on the phone, probably part of the reason it doesn't connect well even with a QI pad a good as the TYLT VU. Just removing the thing to root my device was scary, I thought the USB plug was going to tear off and stay in.
I just bought 2 battery covers with integrated Qi/NFC for $23 each on ebay (my wife got a G3 also) so that should fix the issues for me. Not sure what the VU charges at, but with my Nexus 5 it was always great, for a heavy user like me, I was satisfied (Qi dock in my car too).
What kind of qi car dock do you have? I love the wireless charging and have seen a few posts you put on XDA. I ordered that back plate from eBay, hopefully it works OK and I had ordered the sticker from China but it seems like a pain in the ass ripping off the old one.

Do you have a link to the ones you bought? Also could you post some pictures when you receive and install them?

Compatible Qi Chargers

I have read miles may vary when it comes to these chargers and moto360. Like to start a thread for anyone that is able to charge their 360 successfully without any issues. Some of the issues include getting too hot and auto shutting down due to temp. I will update this list as much as I can.
Hopefully this is helpful for everyone.
Compatible:
PowerBot® PB1020 Qi - $14.99 - According to some reports, runs a little warm.
DiGiYes® Qi Cylindric Wireless Charger Charging Pad Charging Statio... - $12.59 - Works with closed loop bands like the Pebble steel band.
Samsung Galaxy S4 Qi Compatible Wireless Charging Pad - $41.95
Anker® Ultra-Slim Qi-Enabled Wireless Charging Pad - $22.99
Not Compatible:
JBL Powerup Speaker with Qi - Seems to overheat a little and stop charging.
Palm Pre - although it triggers docking mode, it does not actually charge according to users.
Probably not common but I have a JBL Powerup Speaker with Qi built in (was co-branded with Nokia)....works like a charm.
I would also like to see a good list for this. There were a few articles out about how 3rd party Qi chargers could charge the moto 360, but at most had one or two models on there.
This works for me
http://www.amazon.com/PowerBot®-PB1020-Inductive-Compatible-Smartphones/dp/B00F6SPYJS/
To expand this a bit can anyone recommend a dual qi charger? I would love to charge my G3 and 360 on one pad
Updated list from other threads.

It seems to now only charge to 86% and is getting darn hot while doing it. Not sure what was happening when I first used it but I would take this off the list of at least add a disclaimer.
Got the pb1020. Charges well. Watch a bit warm though. Definitely a top off charger, not a leave on all night deal

Updated with the note.
Wonder if the warmness of the chargers are related to the amperage draw. The charger only gives 850mAh, so if a pocket battery gives more, maybe the watch takes more and heats up
Okay here is my feedback.
I bought the powerbot from amazon (14.99). Watch gets hot and shuts off.. I'm sure its not good for the watch.
I will try to get the OEM secondary charger for my office.
so what is the best?

I bought 2 PowerBots and have never had this problem. Charged it from 0-100% this morning. Watch was warm, but not hot and still on.

Perhaps it depends on the AC adaptor? 1amp?

I've got them plugged into my AudioEngine 5+ speakers which outputs 5V, 500mA power supply.

How well do the DigiYes chargers work with the 360 with a Pebble Steel watchband? Because I just opted to go the diy route with my PowerBot charger and made a crappy metal pedestal for it. Works like a charm.

Been using the Samsung Galaxy S4 Qi Compatible Wireless Charging Pad since day one with the watch. It works great. I never yet used the stock charger and dock.
I tested the charging rate and it was 5 volts at about 0.5 amp. I'm using a 2 amp power source but it appears not needed.
I got it from Samsung on sale for $25 USD months ago. Currently its on amazon for around $40. Not worth it because there are less expensive options.

Bud, did you even try to place your watch on the original charger? I have the pebble steel band and am using the Moto charger which came with the watch. works just fine.
But I do commend you on the idea of a pedestal. The only negative to it is you loose the fantastic bedside night stand watch which Moto made for you.

Qi chargers - non budget

Looking to pick up a Qi charging dock for my Nexus 5.
The idea is a bedside dock with some angle so I can see it by rolling over. (my Nexus is about to become a baby monitor screen). I've looked through the budget thread, and it's just not for me. I'd rather spend the extra and get the 1.5a and something a bit more solid. The problem is, I'm having a lot of trouble finding any information about a dock form-factor and Qi charging. It all looks like flat pads and pucks right now.
The Swich Charger (www.swichcharger.com) looks great, but while I don't need budget I'm not going to spend $215. The $99 airdock falls into the same category for me.
The Sunwee looks decent (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WG6Q67W?psc=1) and is about the upper end of what I'd be willing to pay.
Any one have recommendations, while the Sunwee is the leader right now it's just not an obvious winner so I thought I'd ask. (Also, if you have a recommendation on a great non-Qi dock I'm still not 100% convinced)
Tylt Vu hand down best wireless charger. Has 3 coils do you can place your phone in any direction and it will charger. Also it's a stand.
Found this on Amazon, looks to be a clone of the Tylt Vu for half the price. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UE9O0WQ?&psc=1 and comes with the plug. Doubting any one has experience with it though :/
I have a tylt vu clone I'm addition to the original. It works just fine with nexus 5/7/6. Haven't tried that one specifically though.
Well, just ordered. I'll be back with a review thread next weekend.
There's two or three identical 3-coil tilted chargers being sold under different names. They all work fine.
$202-$26. If you pay more than $28, you've paid too much.

The only issue with that one is it's just a single coil/ 1-coil transmitter Qi charger. On my current phone (XT1225), which has the Qi receiver in the 1/3 of the back of the phone, it's HARD to hit the charging spot with a simple 1-coil charger.
For my phone you often have to place the phone almost OFF the charging pad for the battery to start charging.
Even for the Nexus 5, not always easy to hit the "sweet spot".
With the TRIPLE COIL/3-coil chargers (non-budget, as they cost a little more), 3 transmitter coils are interspersed throughout the pad. You place the phone ANYWHERE on the pad (even horizontally), it will hit a charging coil!

They make both flat style and tilted 3-coil chagers. I admit I like the titled better... Google 3-coil Qi charger, triple coil Qi charger.
I've changed out all simple "1-coil" Qi chargers with triple coil chargers, as I got tired of trying to hit the "sweet spot"..
Mini-review...
Went with the YeeSite 3 coil wireless charging stand because it came with the 2.1amp charger included.
In short, it works great. Charges quickly (haven't bothered to get an amp reading yet), just get anywhere close and it makes the connection. It has a little LED light that tells you the status of the connection, it's very unobtrusive but still noticeable when you go to look for it. I have my nightstand about 3 inches below the level of the bed, and the angle of the dock works great like that. I imagine on a desk I'd probably want a slightly steeper tilt though.

the tylt vu has that angle too. Wish it was more steep. They other one like that I have is the same way. Must be a reason they all do that.
