Hi.
I'm currently using the EU weekly ROM 7.3.30 on my mi5s 3/64 .
All in all, I got it all tweaked up and it works fine, but having tried both lineageOS 14.1 and resurrection remix (both unofficial builds for the mi5s) I feel they run snappier, as I would expect from such hardware. Only problem , no 3rd party camera apps I've tried (open camera, manual camera, the stock cameras on lineageOS and resurrection remix, google camera, a better camera, PixiMod) have been able to focus quickly and accurately, giving consistently good and sharp images as the stock camera app does. Also, most other camera apps are buggy in 4K video (and can't really use any form of digital stabilization).
Is there any way I can transfer the stock MIUI 8.3 camera app to use on lineageOS or resurrection remix.
My phone is rooted, I have titanium backup pro and root browser installed.
Thanks for your advise guys!

I tried backing up the stock camera app in titanium backup and restoring it later from lineageOS but it seemed to be stuck in a loop in 'restoring' such that I had to kill the titanium backup process...
It will be very hard, the app must be using many parts of MIUI calls / code which doesn't exist in other rom.
I think the MIUI camera APK relies on the MIUI system framework, so the camera is just a GUI for the interface which is actually located in the framework. Just from what I've seen though. I could be wrong
That's too bad... I might be lucky, but for me the stock camera app is actually very good (apart from the annoying bug in which the app never remembers the video resolution and it keeps reverting to fullHD instead of 4k). And I'm very picky on photography in general... Seems that for now I'm married to the miui ROMs.

I used a version of CM12 Snap Camera which essentially looks like stock Google camera but with quite a bit more features like storage location, OIS etc. Does anyone know of a location to download a version for CM13 because I can't seem to find it. I have tried installing the CM12 compatible version as a system app, and installing Cyanogen Camera app but both force close immediately. Just want a camera with a bit more options.
Found it and posted in Themes & Apps
I recently installed Lineage os on my Moto g4 plus (athene). I have noticed that in the stock ROM the camera had the feature to shoot in slow motion. This feature however is missing from every camera app after installing Lineage. Can somebody please offer a solution?
It's not a solution but here is some understanding. Not all device features can be done when using open source software. Unless the device oem has made the code for that sensor available then there is nothing that can really be done.
I noticed the same thing on a HTC-10, HDR and slow motion are missing from the stock LineageOS and Google camera apps.
The official HTC camera app is available on the Play Store but crashes immediately upon opening.
My other phone is a Nexus 6p and everything just works as it should, I guess I took it for granted
Is it safe to assume that the google camera on stock based roms is better than the miui 9 default camera?
Im saying this because I just got the Honor View 10 and will be doing some camera comparisons and dont really want to go back to miui rom.

Imo yes, Gcam is better. Especially front camera.
In my Mi6, the stock camera was better than Gcam

Which ROM?
miui9 with Camera2 enable way too much noise
Official Aicp 12.1, Google Camera can't focus, in the end i'm using bacon camera
Unofficial LOS 15.1 Too much noise again
The best picture i could get with my Mi6 was with the stock rom and default camera

I'm surprised.
Google camera on any ROM I've used has been consistently better than any other set up.
I don't even use HDR+ because of the autofocus issues.
Just normal photos.
Always better than stock camera and others even when using HDR+ with those.
Video is another area though. Only MIUI camera produces consistent video quality.
Gcam just lags and crashes.
Bacon camera was decent enough as an alternative for video.
Currently on AOSPA I have gcam for normal photos and MIUI camera for video and special photos
I was really eager to use Gcam, the phone i had before the Mi6 was a J5 Prime.. So no Gcam either. Everyone said it was an awesome camera, so i waited 72 hours, unlocked bootloader, twrp and then enable camera2.. I tried a few gcam mods and in my Mi6 none of them where superior to the default camera that came with miui9.
Hi,
My Redmi Note 5 (4/64, global) arrived on Friday, and I opened my bootloader immediately, got TWRP, and installed Resurrection Remix. The only problem is with the ROM, is that the Google Camera ports are not working, therefore camera quality is significantly lower than it is on MIUI, but I hate using MIUI, so I am clueless.
The question is: Is there a stable ROM with Substratum support, that has GCAM and is reliable to use as a daily driver?
I use lineage with Gcam. Photo quality is decent, I suppose on miui it's better.
I really want to use LOS or AOSP based rom,
but stock camera app for LOS doesn't seems good enough compare to MIUI stock camera app.
(of course I can use Google camera app, but there's problem with front camera HDR+...)
So, My question is, is there any camera port for Whyred?
(I tried Mi A1 ver, but HDR doens't work)

Did you find any on XDA Note 5 pro topic? No? Then there is no ported stock cam for customs.
