Awesome news, I can't wait to download the first build once the build servers spit it out! Thanks for everyone's continued work on the m9! I'm sure a lot of non-VZ folks will be excited as well!
I'm assuming we should be on the latest Verizon 6.0 firmware for this, 3.37.605.19? (Edit: At time of posting)
I cant wait

As long as you are on any MM firmware. It might not be till next week for official build. You can go ahead and download my custom build to make sure all the bugs are out before official builds get here.

Does official Lineage mean official Resurrection Remix (7.1.1)?
If not, I have it ready and will make a thread once you verify.
Thanks

volte will probably never work on hima aosp roms. HTC have weird modems.
Looking forward to the official LineageOS 14.1 release for the Verizon HTC M9. Thanks for all your hard work, Flyhalf.
In addition to the OS update, I was also looking to update to the latest firmware, 3.37.605.19. I'm currently on the latest unofficial LineageOS 13.0 release from 03/16 with firmware 3.37.605.15.
2 part question--to simply update the firmware, is the correct firmware to flash the 3.37.605.19_NoBoot-NoRecovery_firmware.zip from santod's thread? And is it safe to flash future firmware updates as they are released?
Just trying to avoid any incompatibility with LineageOS (if that's even a thing) and a bricked device.
Thanks!

Not sure about the firmware version, but keep in mind if you flash the "NoRecovery" firmware, you'll need to flash twrp separately. I just installed "3.37.605.19_NoBoot_TWRP3.0.2-0_firmware.zip" without any issues. I'm on latest LOS 13.0

Well technically the latest firmware is 3.37.605.28 as of a day or two ago... But to answer you question, yes. All you have to do is flash the NoBoot-NoRecovery_firmware.zip and is perfectly fine to flash future updates.
Remember: Make sure you use the NoBoot No Recovery or else you'll have to find a computer to flash twrp back onto it and flash LineageOS before your phone can boot again.
Thank you both for your replies. Slightly different answers, so I just need 1 thing clarified.
I currently have TWRP installed. If I flash the No Boot-No Recovery, will it only update the firmware and leave TWRP in place and untouched?

Yes
Battery life seems slightly worse than 13.0 was for me. I'm not a heavy screen-on-time user, so most drain is just passive standby screen off time. If I had to randomly guess, the screen-off drain rate is maybe 35% faster on 14.1 so far.
I have the performance profile set to Efficiency, as I did in 13.0. I may root (or use ADB) and have a look at wakelocks, but based off the battery "History Details" in Settings, the phone does not seem to be getting stuck awake for extended periods of time or anything. I periodically monitored battery voltages too and the battery percentage seems to be accurate, though I don't really have anything to base that on other than knowledge of LiPo/Li-ion batteries.
I'll follow up if I discover anything helpful, but has anyone else noticed slightly worse screen-off battery performance too?
Ok, can someone here tell me how to get root access on this rom? I have tried flashing the armsupersuaddon and armsupersux64 zips, neither worked. Then I tried enabling root access in the dev options and installing SuperSu from the store, that seemed to and went ahead and attempted to install binaries, but now my phone is bootlooping...I am on the latest nightly if that helps, but the first one didn't work with the flashable zips either.
I got root by installing "the LineageOS su add-on", as described in the wiki: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/himawl/install#installing-lineageos-from-recovery (addon zip comes from https://download.lineageos.org/extras, "addonsu-arm64-signed.zip").
I tried that one...didn't work. Might try it again after I get my phone setup again, but that's going to take a long while. Ended up having to factory reset, so I need to download a hundred apps and reset all my 2 factor authentications...all for root. Not keen to go through this again.

After you flash the root addon zip you have to enable root in developer settings and it should work after that. I know it is a pain but you may want to try to start over again.
But a lot of users are using root less and less these days. I don't have root currently on mine. Don't need it.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot...and I agree about root. I only wanted it because I have the Pixel launcher flashed to my phone as a system app, but its been glitching up and making it to where I cannot swipe cards away on google now, so I was going to install pixelize and use that to see if it's version of the launcher didn't have the issue. So I found myself needing root for the first time since my M7.

CM14.1 Slow Performance (Kernel/CPU Issue?)
Something weird is going on with cm14.1 and the phone's CPU..
I noticed that the phone is running much slower with cm14.1 than cm13.. I did a complete wipe and reflash but still same problem. Then I ran some benchmark tests that confirm my suspicion.
CM14.1 is running at less than half the speed of CM13 :crying: and the A57 cores seem to be disabled. This has been happening since the first cm14.1 nightly until today.
Anybody else experience the same? Any idea how to resolve this?
Code:
cm13.0-20161112
Octane on Chrome 54: 6000-6500
Geekbench4: 1145 Single core, 1620 Multi-core
Cpu-z shows all CPUs are running
cm14.1-20161211
Octane on Chrome 54: ~2500
Geekbench4: 597 Single core, 530 Multi-core
Cpu-z shows CPU 4 and CPU 5 are stopped
great to see 14.1 , keep it up
My other, older phones - running CM14.1 peregrine and hammerheadcaf builds - have Ambient Display gestures (screenshot from hammerheadcaf attached) which make the feature usable rather than gimmicky. I trust ether has the sensors necessary to make that work, especially if a $200 Moto from 2-1/2 years ago can.
What's the deal with the battery drain? This phone doesn't seem to doze like my others.
I'm not going back to stock unless they release an impressive Nougat build with working NFC payments.
tlxxxsracer said:
Most likely ether wont get display gestures. Hence double tap to wake and such were never implemented into cm13 or stock OS

Neither of the other devices I mentioned had anything remotely resembling Ambient Display or double tap to wake in their stock ROMs. If the right sensors to detect the gestures are present the gestures should be possible; on a $400 phone from early 2016 they better be if they were in a mid 2014 LTE version of a $180 phone from 2013
these are nighties soon things going to be better....
CM14.1 is based on 1350 Nextbit Kernel Source
I've just downloaded the nightly 19/12 and as soon as i reboot and updated through TWRP, and now i'm stuck in a TWRP bootloop.
Any idea how i can get rid of this bootloop?

Happened to me too last week for no apparent reason (been flashing nightly even before cm14.1 came out).. Tried to recover in many different ways. Only thing that worked was to flash stock ROM from nextbit (without wiping data) and then reflash cm14.1 nightly.
Good luck!

Hi, I'm on clean flashed CM14.1 nightly, with unlocked bootloader and encrypted filesystem and twrp 3.0.2.1. My problem ist that the nightly updates won´t work direct from CM 14. I mean that the phone boots in twrp but won´t start the update by it self like it was on CM 13 bevor. (This is not the main problem! I can start the update by manual update in twrp) The main problem is, that the phone stuck at bootloop after finished the update and reboot in twrp after the update.
The only way to start the phone normal after the update is to flash the 1450 firmware from this guide.
h...p://community.nextbit.com/t5/ROMs/ROM-15Oct-XxXNextOSXxX-1-1-0-stock-based-1450-Android-6-0-1/td-p/25029
Then the phone works normal as it should. But if I reboot the phone, the phone reboots in twrp again.
So I always need a PC to start the 1450 update script. Does anybody have the same problem or know a another workaround without reflash every time the 1450 firmware ?
Thanks and greets from Austria!

I had a similar issue. I tried using the CM Updater to install the latest nightly and it kept booting into recovery. Like you I went back to Stock 1450 but it still kept going into recovery on every boot. I cured the issue by flashing the latest CM Recovery, I did a wipe from that recovery and all was good.
I hope this helps?

Oh, nice. Thanks!
I hope i can update directly from Cyanogenmod now.
Thanks again.
Ok, so... there's still a noticeable lag and the fingerprint reader doesn't often work when pressing the power button to unlock the phone. The little fingerprint icon on the bottom of the screen is missing when this happens.
Appart from this, i have to say, this rom is fantastic with the Pixel launcher (miles ahead from stock rom) and i can't really say i miss the original rom. Not sure about battery life just yet. I've flashed it today.
Careful updating to the latest nightly (cm14.1-20161221) I got stuck in boot logo trying to update directly. I have CM Recovery installed.
Had to wipe system and install the latest nightly again. Now its working. No data lost (Thank god!)

I've had that issue happen a few times. Hold down the power button and volume down until the reboot options appear. I boot to recovery then normal reboot and everything boots up fine after that.

Important Info
To flash this rom you need TWRP 3.2.0-0 or newer. https://twrp.me/huawei/huaweinexus6p.html
Make sure you have the radio & bootloader img's installed from the stock oreo 8.1 OPM7.181205.001 Dec 2018 factory image.
They can be extracted from the factory image on google's site here. Or you can use the ones linked below that I already extracted:
radio & bootloader img's: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=286833
Those img's can be flashed with fastboot command.
Note: There's an issue happening to some angler users on custom oreo roms. The first boot after flashing rom your sim card might not be detected. It's easy to fix. Just go to lockscreen security settings and change it to 'none' and then reboot. Then you can change it back to whatever you want. This only happens one time when you first flash oreo.
Download Links
rom: https://download.lineageos.org/angler
Note: LineageOS servers no longer make 15.1 builds for any devices. You can use my unofficial builds here. My older builds are here.
Note#2: if you want to switch from an official build to my unofficial builds, follow instructions here.
google apps (optional): https://wiki.lineageos.org/gapps.html (Use arm64 / 8.1)
root su addon (optional): https://download.lineageos.org/extras Note: Use arm64 15.1 zip. After installing the su addon, you can enable root in developer options.
Instructions
If updating from old unofficial to newer unofficial, follow the steps below:
1. if you don't already have them installed, flash the newest radio and bootloader img's linked above.
2. boot into twrp and flash the rom zip.
Reboot & enjoy.
NOTE: if you previously flashed gapps and/or the su addon, there's no need to flash them again. They will be automatically re-installed during rom zip installation.
NOTE2: if you want to switch from an official build to my unofficial builds, follow instructions here.
If coming from a different rom:
1. if you don't already have them installed, flash the newest radio & bootloader img's linked above. also make sure you have the newest twrp, linked above.
2. boot into twrp and wipe system & data & cache.
3. flash rom & gapps & su addon zips (gapps & su zips are optional).
Reboot & enjoy.
Weather Provider Addon (Optional)
For those that like the lineage cLock widget, here's the OpenWeather apk you need to get weather info.
https://download.lineageos.org/extras
Grab the one for version 16.0. It also works with 15.1.
Note: You'll need an api key from OpenWeather.

Forgot to mention in the first post. This has been happening on many custom ROMs.
An easy fix is to go to security settings and change screen lock to swipe or none, then reboot. That will remove the device protection that caused the no sim problem.
After the reboot, the problem is fixed and won't happen anymore. Then you can go back into security settings and change it back to whatever screen lock option you want.

Its not just caused by unlock protection. I posted details on the issue in my 14.1 thread about a month ago.

Hi, looking to potentially begin using custom ROMs on my 6P to help combat some battery and performance issues I get. With future updates, do I have to keep manually flashing the radio, etc firmware or can I just OTA/DL zip of lineage and flash? Seems like a bit of a pain :/

Hi, once a month you need to flash the new vendor for security updates
Google release them once a month (usually the first tuesday of the month)
However when you flash an update that does not require new vendor, you don't need to flash it
edit: just realised you're also from Melbourne, hi
Just have installed the last unofficial in my Angler, coming from another custom rom ( with Nougat). All good. Plan to stay here. Thanks !
Anyone having problems with the phone shutting down saying 0% battery when in reality you still have plenty of battery left? Just did a clean install and it happened after only installing chrome and whatsapp.

LineageOS is a free and open-source operating system for smartphones and tablet computers, based on the Android mobile platform.
This is an unofficial build of LineageOS for the Pixel 2 (walleye). I always liked Lineage (and its predecessor CyanogenMOD) as well as the Google line of phones. Unfortunately having a Google Pixel phone isn't certainty for a lot of custom ROMS anymore, so that's why I decided to compile my own version. It's been quite challeging, but I think I finally have a build that is good enough to share.
About
This ROM is is always built straight from the LineageOS sources found on https://github.com/lineageos. There are only 3 changes in order to get this build:
The binaries for this ROM come from AICP
GApps are compiled with the ROM from MindTheGapps including the Pixel specific bits for unlimited photo upload for instance
Disabled Android Verity Boot (AVB), so we don't get the security warning when booting
I am not a developer, I only build this ROM and it reflects the the current status. If there are any things missing or not working I suggest to contact the LineageOS team, they are the real geniuses here and deserve all the credits. I will try to keep this ROM updated on a regular basis.
First Installation
Installing the ROM can be a little hard, especially the first install. Upgrades will be relatively easy though. This first setup is only needed when coming from a different ROM then this. I can't support you if you did't follow this first installation. Be warned it will wipe your user data in the process
In order to get the initial setup and also to use the same vendor partition as the ROM you have to install the latest stock Pixel 2 image from Google found here. More info on unlocking your phone and installing the latest Pixel image can be found in the excellent post by @nathanchance found here. The bestway to flash a stock ROM in my opinion is @Deuces' script found here. The benefit of this is that it'll flash the image to both slots, so they are both on the latest build, including the bootloader and radio. All instructions for using the script are inside the forum. After flashing the image make sure you reboot at least once (no need to set it up now though).
Place the ROM and optionally the TWRP zip and root from (Magisk or from LineageOS (not tested) on the phone and reboot to recovery by using the command line (fastboot boot twrp.img)
Wipe 'data' and 'Dalvik / Art Cache' from TWRP - Wipe - Advanced Wipe. Optionally you should also delete the Android folder on your internal storage through the TWRP File Manager
Flash the ROM and optionally the TWRP zip and reboot the phone
Upgrades to new version
After the hard initial work to get the ROM installed it's going to be easy for upgrades to new versions.
Download the new ROM and reboot of flash to TWRP
Flash the new ROM and optionally TWRP. If you want to flash another kernel or a root solution you will have to reboot you phone, so it switches slots and let it boot normally. Then go back to recovery and flash in this order: TWRP - kernel - Magisk and reboot
After a monthly update from Google and only when LineageOS also adapted to the latest monthly sources (I will tell you this) you will have to do an extra step:
Download the latest Lineage OS ROM and place it on the internal storage
Download the latest image from the Google Factory Images site and run Deuces' script. No need to wipe your data!
After the script finishes it automatically boots into the bootloader. From here fastboot into TWRP and flash the previously downloaded new ROM, optionally followed by TWRP.
Optionally, after a reboot you can flash Magisk and/or another kernel.
Not working
Substratum
Use Powerbutton for flashlight when Ambient Display is set

Happy flashing
Miraculous... Will flash soon. Thank you for keeping Pixel 2 relevant.

I don't have a clue. It just seems that anyone who posts a ROM gets the thread closed. It's almost as if they don't want walleye to have any development.
Just check this forum out compared to the pixel XL 2 forum.
Thanks very much for sharing this. I've got it installed and it's running fantastic.
Everyone who has had a rom thread has closed the thread for different reasons, time, family, frustration or lack of support etc...
I see don't see why we should be negative and assumee the same is the case with this build. Every rom thread has produced better and more stable builds as time progressed.
@Joregen2009, I have seen your name around before, appreciate you building!!

It's my pleasure. I only wanted to share my build, because I know that many of you much be as frustrated as me for the lack of ROMs for our device.
We'll see how long this thread will hold. If it's up to me I'll try to provide at least a weekly build from the actual sources, or whenever there are some major changes in the sources that are important for our device until the Lineage Team declares our device official. Let's hope that happens soon and that this thread can contribute to that.
Awesome! Thanks for this ROM. Any known issues one should be aware of before flashing?
Does Lineage have Substratum support ?? Having trouble connecting......
Update. Found answer - : no substratum support
@jorgen2009
Hey thanks so much for the ROM. Its working great!
Is there any chance you could link me the kernel source for this specific build? (Pixel2)
I'm trying to figure out how to rebuild it with the drivers for my TP-LINK WN722N V1.
I really don't know what I'm doing but I'm trying to learn.
I'm trying to follow this guide to accomplish this.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2338179
I do have Kali for Magisk up and running just fine.
Lsusb command shows my WiFi Adaptor but the kernel won't let me use it.
Thanks so much for reading, if what I'm trying to do is stupid feel free to let me know why haha. If I get it to work I'll share it with everyone.

Sure, see LineageOS sources on github, I didn't touch the kernel in this build:
https://github.com/LineageOS/android_kernel_google_wahoo
I am still getting the security warning when booting. Am I the only one so I missed something?
Other question: is the Trusted Faces not working because the used GApps package has not been modified for the Pixel, or the ROM has got some incompatibility issue?
Great job. Just a little bug: Long press power button to turn on torch is not working when Ambient Display is set to always on.

Are you sure you are on the April vendor? Your vendor version must be the same as the ROM needs (currently the April one).
Trusted Faces is GApps related yes, it's not in MindTheGApps. I'll try to make a build with OpenGApps in to see if that works. Both Face Detection for Media and Face Unlock are in the Nano package (https://github.com/opengapps/opengapps/wiki/Nano-Package)

I'll put it in the known issues list in the OP later this week for an overview
Another build is up. This time I used OpenGapps so you might need to clear the Store cache. I had no problems upgrading myself. The Text-to-speech improved a lot with these Gapps for me.
New in this build is the LED light when charging and some basic stuff for more compatibility with our device and some networks. Also all the normal changes since the last build for LineageOS are in of course. For the download link see the OP. I also adjusted the OP a bit to show the things that are known not to work. Let me know if I missed something so I can adjust the list

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

ROM OS Version: Android 13
ROM Kernel: Linux 4.x
Based On: AOSP
Additional installation instructions if coming from stock MIUI:
In order to install a custom ROM you must have an unlocked bootloader. You can apply for this at Xiaomi's official site: https://en.miui.com/unlock/
You then need to install a custom recovery. Official TWRP builds are available, and the official maintainer has a thread with installation instructions here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi...covery-unofficial-twrp-xiaomi-mi-mix-t3941867
The official TWRP for Mix 3 5G cannot decrypt A12+ encryption scheme so if you see scrambled filenames in recovery mode and want to access your files then use my unofficial build (version 3.7.0-12.0).
https://sourceforge.net/projects/xiaomi-andromeda/files/twrp-3.7.0_12-0-andromeda.img/download
Once you have TWRP installed, boot into recovery mode. Wipe cache, dalvik, system, vendor partitions.
You are strongly advised to flash the latest modem firmware. You can grab that here: https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/firmware/andromeda/
This only needs to be done once, once the updated firmware has been flashed you can forget about it.
WARNING: You will lose all saved files on your internal storage in the next step, make a backup of important files before proceeding
Data partition must be formatted (not wiped) to remove forced encryption. Use the bottom right "Format Data" button in the Wipe menu. You will be asked to type "yes" to confirm your choice.
At this point your internal storage will be empty. Copy the ROM from your PC to the phone, click install in TWRP and select the ROM. If you wish to install gapps/nanodroid, copy it to the phone and install after the ROM. Once you have flashed the ROM and any add ons, you must format internal storage again. Internal storage must be completely empty for the very first custom ROM boot, once a custom ROM has been installed and you want to swap to a different one, further formatting is not necessary.
Reboot back to system and enjoy custom ROM goodness

Hello, I really want to install this rom especially as it seems the device won't be upgraded. I've never done this before, and tried today but I soft bricked my phone . Got the standard ROM back on now.
Can someone help with what I did wrong.
I followed the instructions on this to down load recovery, https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-install-twrp/?amp
I managed to get the phone into recovery.
I wiped the cache etc, then I installed the modem firmware which was successful.
Then I formatted the drive as the instructions.
I went to move the ROM into the device but when doing this on the PC is timed out, it wouldn't allow me to move the ROM, once I rebooted the device it continued to go into fast boot.
Any help would be welcome.

Hey Inkypen,
Thanks a lot for the ROM, it's currently my daily driver.
What's the upgrade process between the linked Lineage 18 ROMs? Also, do you have a change log somewhere?
You mentioned in the other thread that you are more active in the Telegram chat - how can I join that?

Apologies for the late reply, for some reason I don't get email notifications about this thread even though I'm subscribed. The Mix 3 support group can be found at https://t.me/mimix3_5G and I'm way more active there. Hello, thank you for all the detailed explanations but I am currently having some trouble with purple/green lines at the bottom of the screen or at the edges of white tabs? I have installed lineage os and have also tried pixel experience but i have had the same results, I have reinstalled lineage a few time but still the same, with miui I haven't had this problem, so my screen isn't faulty, I will try and install the android 10 version of pixel exp and lineage os to see if there is a difference. the green and purple lines aren't too noticeable but I can't stop looking at them! maybe I have ocd?

Hi! Could files accept characters that are not typically accepted in Windows systems but are in Linux? Like ':', or '?'.
First of all thanks a bunch for this ROM. Been running it for several weeks now, everything has worked fine so far.
Today however I stumbled into an issue: USB Tethering does not seem to work for me.
- tried with 3 computers and different OSs (Windows, Linux) ... never worked
- I have another Android10-based Sony smartphone - for this one USB tethering works fine with all 3 computers
- the computers all recognize my Mi Mix 3, but fail to establish a network connection (no IP obtained?)
Does USB Tethering work for you guys? Or anybody having similar issues?
Thanks!
Sorry guys, I pretty much missed out on A12 Lineage, but I'm back with A13 Lineage for you guys! I will provide both integrated gapps builds and vanilla builds for those that don't want gapps. The official TWRP for andromeda isn't able to decrypt A12+ encryption scheme so I've ported the A12 version of TWRP and OrangeFox for our device. Don't try and install the updated recovery if you're running A11 or below, in that case stick with the official version.
Biggest change to my builds is that OTA updates are now enabled, you'll get a notification prompting to update. The builds are hosted on sourceforge and download speeds can be very slow depending on where in the world you are and which mirror it selects. It might be quicker to download updates on a PC. Not a lot I can do about it, that's the downside of free file hosting.

I have one question for you. What benefit is there to being official? The only real perk is OTA updates, which my builds now have.
The requirements to go official for LOS are unbelievably strict, for example I wouldn't be allowed to patch the ROM to pass safetynet or be allowed to take updated device drivers from a QCOM BSP (which I already have done several times). I don't have the time or energy to work around their restrictions.

Reboot to bootloader (adb reboot bootloader)

Do a factory reset in TWRP
Flash the latest build of Lineage OS
Boot into your new phone
Optional:
Most of us will want the basic functionality like Google Play, Maps and others, therefore I recommend downloading Gapps. You choose your own, but I recommend OpenGapps. They are among the few that can survive OTA updates.
If you do this, I recommend booting into the new LineageOS first, then reboot to recovery, do a factory reset and then only flash the gapps. If you don't do this, the gapps won't install properly

It mainly works the same, but most daily users will prefer the "normal version". This ROM has its own separate OTA engine, so it should receive updates over it too. You can download it here. Is enforcing to get more security and asked for a password when start up android? If I update on next OTA, can I get this function without erase all my data?
I get bootloop on first reboot after flashing the ROM. I followed your installation guide.

I installed it without any error or bootloop. Are you doing clean install? Is your twrp version new?( I used 3.5.0_9.1.) What was your current rom?

Maybe you should try this twrp https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-twrp-recovery-for-xiaomi-mi-a2-lite.4178901/
After formatting data, wipe everything except sdcard. I put necessary files on sdcard.
And after the step that you install the rom, install twrp installer, too. And before rebooting system, don't forget to change your slot(from reboot menu), and reboot to recovery again. Than i installed gapps and magisk and rebooted system. Everything gone well.

No, if you want to encrypt, you will have to wipe your data. But I think that you can do a twrp backup and restore after the encrypting

Sure, always do what the developer says. I just told what i did and what worked for me. But maybe it's just what you said.

Encryption working ?
Can you send me a screenshot.
Very happy with the new ROM. Good job!
Thanks for providing this new version, I did a clean install today. Everything seems to work fine except the default browser - no matter if I use mobile data or wi-fi, it can't open any page
@reujea0 Thanks for the rom and all your efforts.
Which opengapps package do you recommend ?
And which is the biggest package we could safely flash to avoid twrp' s error 70 ?
